Smile for the camera!

Officers, responding to an alarm at a Roswell Road chain drug store just before 2 a.m., found the front glass door shattered by a rock. It appeared that a number of Marlboro cigarettes had been taken. The store has video and manager viewed it. She saw a male wearing a white T-shirt and jeans throw a rock through the door. She recognized the man as a regular customer. The investigation and video were turned over to the detective division.

What an idiot, right? Of all the stores that have cigarettes and glass doors, he picks the store he frequents.

Don’t ever give these people more credit than they are due.

Going for the good stuff

A man was arrested at Sandy Springs Place after a lookout was given on a man who had exited a dollar store after allegedly taking several items.

The officer recovered 33 packs of aspirin, several baseball hats, batteries and a leather travel case. The shopper was taken to FC jail.

You really have to steal a lot of stuff from the dollar store to get beyond a misdemeanor.

Trouble comes knockin’

A Rotherick Drive man said that at about 11:45 a.m. he heard a knock at the door. He saw a woman outside, but he didn’t open the door because he didn’t know her. A few minutes later he heard the front door open. He saw the same woman, at the bottom of his stairs, holding his laptop computer.

The victim grabbed his gun and chased her outside. She dropped the computer and then got into a car described as an older black Ford Ranger with a missing sunroof. The tag may contain the numbers 444.

Service station shenanigans:

— A man came into a Roswell Road service station, took three 18-packs of Bud Light and ran out to a Honda Civic. The tag number was the same as a stolen car reported days earlier. The officer contacted the woman who owned it. She told the officer that she recovered the car but it was inoperable due to a damaged ignition. She told the officer the car was now missing again, and was just about to report it.

— Just before midnight, officers were called to a Dunwoody Place service station. A customer was arguing with the clerk about cigarettes that he had no money for. The customer became loud and vulgar to the clerk — and now the officer. The officer took the man outside so that he could continue to dig the hole deeper. The report said the man had a strong odor of alcohol on him. He was arrested and taken to FC jail.

So let me get this straight. They stole her car, it was recovered with a damaged ignition, and then someone stole it again? What kind of neighborhood does she live in that her car gets stolen twice?
