Comcast to air Super Bowl ads On Demand

What, there’s a game?

Even those who could care less about football will tune in to the Super Bowl for no other reason than to watch the slick spots that have the water cooler buzzing on Monday morning.

No need to spend four hours waiting out those annoying plays and that snooze-worthy half-time show anymore.

Comcast will be broadcasting uninterrupted Super Bowl commercials through its On Demand service almost immediately following Sunday’s game.

Here’s the Comcast schedule for Super Bowl XL Commercials:

NFL Network on Demand Monday, Feb. 6 (Midnight Sunday) through Sunday, Feb. 12

NFL Network (On Comcast Digital Cable) Monday, Feb. 6 - 12:00 PM ET; 6:00 PM ET; 9:00 PM ET and 12:00 midnight Tuesday, Feb. 7 - 1:00 PM ET; 5:00 PM ET

Don’t have Comcast? Log on to NFL.com to view Super Bowl XL Commercials from Feb. 6 through 12. Download sites such as video.google.com and video.yahoo.com are also expected to carry the spots. Sprint is also expected to make spots available for cell phone viewing and of course the requisite video iPod downloads.

Does this change your viewing plans? Are you even the slightest bit stunned that commercials are now a desirable form of programming?

Let us know what your plans are for Sunday night.

I’m sorry, but one of my pet peeves is people who say they watch the Superbowl for the commercials. I find some of them mildly amusing, the very first time I see them during the game, but I pretty much never want to see them again after that. And for me, the commercial breaks are time to get more food, beer, use the restroom, etc. I think commercialism is plenty entrenched in everything nowadays that I’m not going to take pleasure in it by paying too much attention to the commercials.

And I’m sorry, but I can’t think of anything more lame than downloading a COMMERCIAL or watching it on-demand. Why not just get Budweiser tattoed on your forehead?

I am so tired of watching commercials on television now why would I want to watch them on the internet? As it is now you see 4-5 minutes of programming, then sit through 3-4 minutes of commercials.

I will watch the 1st half, & half time then after that i’m sure i’ll be watching something that i’ll really enjoy….i don’t get into the “superbowl” like a lot of people who make all types of bets, have hillarious parties for 1 game…..since it’s the 1st time for the Seahawks i hope they win…have a great weekend all

I only watch the Super Boring for commercials. The NFL is the most bloated and uninteresting version of football in this country, with too many stoppages in play and too much passing.

The commercials are always fun, especially when a company creates a series throughout the broadcast, and with many in HD this year, Commercial Bowl 2006 will be better than ever.
