So where do you think all of this is going, will there be a “master device” that will handle all of our tasks?

Wireless devices are containing more and more features every day as technology advances and consumers demand more. In today’s fast paced society, the combination of functions is inevitable, and to me necessary. I am in business and need access to certain data, I need the ability to communicate with clients, and the ability to actually work on the move. Since I am on the move and time is precious, I enjoy being able to combine tasks and fun,and entertainment. the enxt step is for me, more function. If I can save time by doing my banking, my shopping,my news gathering and communicating wirelessly, it is a plus. Will I watch TV, movies, listen to raido or play video games - for me personally, not much. But for those that choose to, the need, hence the demand will be there. That is where flexibility in devices will come in. The needs of the working person, the parent, the student, the media lover, the mobile professional, will all be at least slightly different and different platforms will be needed to satisfy the all. So I see master devices coming along to be able to handle the varying demands of all types of users. Just as now ipods, Treos, and camera phone users all have their preferences, the things the devices will have and be able to offer will vary, but will be needed by some segment of the population. General services (banking), the ability to diagnose your car, your e-mail functions, actually using the “phone” will just be some of the applications general to ALL phones, but differing needs will dictate different types of devices, and I believe there will ultimately be several types of “master devices” customizable for different users. We both may want text messages and e-mail capability, but the ipod user and the Powerpoint user will still be different in their other needs and will have to be addressed as such. Welcome to the 21st century.!!
