Spring ball: Breaking down the SEC West

Let’s close out our week by breaking down the SEC West for Spring Football 2008.

ALABAMA

Last season: 7-6; beat Colorado (30-24) in Independence Bowl.

Starters returning: Offense 9, defense 6.

Top story lines: Jim McElwain takes over as offensive coordinator and has to find a way to breathe some life into a unit that really struggled down the stretch in 2007. It won’t be easy without receivers, DJ Hall, Matt Caddell and Keith Brown; the defense simply didn’t have enough athletes to play the way coach Nick Saban wanted to play last season. Look for Saban to put younger, but more talented, players in positions to succeed this spring. It’s hard to get a true picture of Alabama until its No. 1 recruiting class—featuring WR Julio Jones—arrives this summer. Quarterback John Parker Wilson (18 TD, 12 INT in 2007) has his third offensive coordinator in as many seasons. He needs to get better this spring or risk losing some playing time in the fall.

ARKANSAS

Last season: 8-5; lost to Missouri 38-7 in Cotton Bowl.

Starters returning: Offense 5, defense 6.

Top story lines: First-year coach Bobby Petrino would have an easier job if running backs Darren McFadden (the Heisman runner-up in 2006 and 2007) and Felix Jones had returned for their senior seasons. Both are going pro and now Petrino and company have a lot of work to do…Part of Petrino’s immediate problem-the lack of a consistent quarterback-could be solved if the NCAA grants Michigan transfer Ryan Mallett a waiver to play immediately. Don’t expect that to happen. Petrino will recruit well at Arkansas and he’ll need some help from this incoming class. But the Hogs are going to go through some growing pains in 2008 as Petrino establishes his program.

AUBURN

Last season: 9-4; beat Clemson 23-20 (OT) in Chick-fil-A Bowl.

Starters returning: Offense 7, defense 6.

Top story lines: Auburn has a new offensive coordinator (Tony Franklin) and a new defensive coordinator (Paul Rhoads); Franklin got a leg up on installing the spread offense by joining the staff last December… Spring practice started on Feb. 24 and there have already been some casualties. QB Chris Todd, a junior college transfer who started his career at Texas Tech, has come up with a sore shoulder (but no structural damage), leaving the door wide open for Kodi Burns to lock down the job; looks like DE Sen’Derrick Marks will be moving to DT; also look for TB Mario Fannin (from Hampton) to blossom in Franklin’s spread offense because of his ability to run and catch the ball. It will be interesting to see how the Auburn defense plays after the departure of DC Will Muschamp to Texas.

LSU

Last season: 12-2; beat Tennessee (21-14) in SEC championship game; beat Ohio State (38-24) in BCS championship game.

Starters returning: Offense 7, defense 4.

Top story lines: LSU began the spring without quarterback Ryan Perrilloux, who was suspended for the third time in 10 months for violating team rules. Perrilloux’s status for the future is uncertain; There was good news when DE Kirston Pittman was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA. He will team will DE Tyson Jackson and DT Ricky Jean-Francois, the defensive MVP of the BCS championship game, to give LSU one of the best defensive lines in the country despite the loss of all-world DT Glenn Dorsey. LSU may have lost the best senior class in school history, but the Tigers are still the team to beat in the SEC West.

OLE MISS

Last season: 3-9.

Starters returning: Offense 7, defense 9.

Top story lines: Houston Nutt takes over as the new head coach of the Rebels. If a couple of things fall into place, Ole Miss may be pretty competitive in 2008. QB Javan Snead, a transfer from Texas, is finally eligible. If Snead is as good as advertised and if RB signee Enrique Davis (Hargrave Military Academy) is the real deal, new offensive coordinator Kent Austin has a chance. Davis won’t get to Oxford until this summer. Despite the shortcomings of the previous coaching staff, they left some good athletes in Oxford. Given a new challenge, Nutt could make Ole Miss a tough out in 2008.

MISSISSIPPI STATE

Last season: 8-5; beat Central Florida (10-3) in Liberty Bowl.

Starters returning: Offense 7, defense 8.

Top story lines: Last season’s 8-5 team was built on defense but this spring coach Sylvester Croom has to find replacements for two quality ends, Titus Brown and Avery Hannibal; on offense sophomore quarterback Wesley Carroll came a long way in 2007 but needs to improve; Mississippi State will be able to run the ball with two very good backs (Anthony Dixon, Christian Ducre) and three returning starters on the offensive line. After building for three seasons, coach Sylvester Croom had the breakthrough year in 2007. Don’t expect this program to take a step back.

$aban will continue to have offensive problems. The young defense will get better throughout the season. If he will finally get rid of the bad apples, this year can set up a much better 2009.

It’s anybody’s guess how Petrino’s first year will develop. Needs more talent, but will surprise some folks.

AU could be real good or about like last year. The defense should be just as good if the new DC knows what he is doing. The offense success depends on the ability of the revamped talent pool to produce in the spread.

LSU has so much talent stocked up from 6-7 years of top 5 recruiting, they will simply reload. Those bayou boys need constant discipline to hold down the partying, so Perriloux may need to be cut just to establish discipline.

Miss St will be as hardnosed as ever, Sly can rebuild the defense but needs better offensive talent and coaching.

It may take Nutt a year of two to get Ole Miss back to competitive. Still, they should be better than last year.

The standing bet for this site should be: How long before the UGA mutts try to turn this into their own private UGS site.

WOW!!

War Eagle how long did it take you to make up that amusing little ditty?

CTT runs the cleanest program in the SEC, graduates the most players and therefore the satire in your prose is rich.

Other satirical prose to consider in the future:

You could write lyrics to the Alabama fight song that talks of the discipline that is at the heart of SATANS mantra.

or

one that goes right to the heart of his kindness and respect toward others

or

one that speaks to his overall loyalty.

Now that would be some satirical prose!!

the west does not matter because the DAWGS will rule the east and west this year. We will be building on our tradetion as the best football program ever - 6 national championships and multiple sec championships. The rest of the teams just wish they were like us - we have the best talent in the country because we have the best high school football by far in the country. I know, I played in cobb and would have gone to UGA but I blew out my knee in my softmore season. GO DAWGS

If you want a National Championship, go to LSU, not UGA, who is good but overhyped and haven’t won anything since 1980. Wow, someone get a little press and some preseason rankings, and they think that’s good enough to be crown. No, no…you have to play the games on schedule, settle it on the field. I respect UGA (the school) alot, but the Dawg fans are the most irrational, delusional, I’ve even encountered!!! Play first, win second, then talk…GEAUX TIGERS

Cannot wait for Oct. 25th in the Red Stick (Baton Rouge). LSU will do it’s best Michael Vick impression, and __ the DAWGS! See y’all there!!!

Why are all of you so dumb, admit we are top DAWGS and we won’t beat you so bad. Stop pretending you can compete with us. Fullmer’s fat and Superior couldn’t beat the cowboys.

And the Techsters actually swell up and predict wins every year over SEC opponents only to fly back to the concrete nest that still has only one good thing -The Varsity Restaurant. (ok two including the Cheatah 3 lounge) Gamecocks are predicting chicken kickens for all after that lovely 6 and 6 last year. OK State claims the worlds gretest offense—yeah riigghhttt. that is the truth 78 Dawg! The Dawgs rule the confernece and year in and year out are one of the top football colleges in the country. If the head of UGA would let the football players have a little lower grades than the rest of the studants, we would win the national championship every year. Instead, he makes them be as good as ivie league (harvard and some of those other northern colleges). But we’ll still keep winning. Go Dawgs.

78 Dawg, please tell me you work at the Punchline, because you are funny!!! What 25 year dominance are you referring too? Surely not the last 25 years. You just got the Gators-monkey off your back, and I think that may be a temporary, one year relief because they haven’t forgotten about what happened this past year. Just like we have some payback for you guys for ‘05 SEC Title game. You guys D was awesome that day (knocked JaMarcus R out of the game), but it is US who has the awesome Defense now…with or without Glenn Dorsey. Matter of fact its a new regime for both teams. So it will be another game for the ages, when we clash. GEAUX TIGERS

Amelia Island Mike, you’re right. There are more hideous and delusional fans than the Bulldogs. Can you say the Ohio State Suckeyes??? They are the worst and can’t back up anything. All of this talk about UGa… when did they move to the SEC West?

LSU is the team to beat in the West. Auburn and ‘Bama may have the best shot at doing that. More likely, Miles’ luck will run out and he’ll blow one of the close games that he won last year.

Miss. State is getting better and can’t be ignored. Arkansas and Ol’ Miss have a little too much rebuilding to do for serious contention, but you never know. After all, this is the SEC.

It’s going to be a long, hot summer.

I think Bama has a great opportunity to make some noise, because SEC West shouldn’t be as strong this year. Auburn having new def and off coordinators will likely mean getting out of the gate a little slow (as we shall see at GT). LSU has to replace some strong senior leadership. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Houston Nutt surprise some people with the change of scenery.

78 Dawg, you’re really emphasizing the “mythical” in those 6 MNC’s!

78 Dawg, dude your comments are crazy, since when is UGA the football power you speak of?

They haven’t won a national title in 28 yrs and counting, and Florida had won how many in a row prior to you winning last year?

UGA has a very good team and program,I am not idiotic enough not to acknowledge that, but to say they are dominant is outright stupidity, especially considering that since the start of this decade LSU has more SEC titles, and national championships.Overhyped fans like you that read too many of the preseason press clippings will be the funniest to talk to when UGA falls on its face this year, they will lose at least 2 games this year, count on it!!!

By War Eagle

March 7, 2008 3:52 PM | Link to this

KR, I believe Auburn will be top defensive team in the SEC. This guy Paul Rhoads knows his stuff. He is RahRah as CWM. Did you see WVA-Pitt game last year? He defense WVA to death. I think Pitt was 7th in NCAA defense last year. The horses are in the stable with experience talent.Tony Franklin,OC, has his spread all over the country and it seems to work. Hope it works soon for Auburn….Miss State, LSU, Tenn are up first, 3 of 4 first games.

By Hilarious

LSU fans want to have their cake and eat it too. They pump their chest out and talk big about “winning it on the field”, but don’t want to talk about conveniently escaping Georgia ON THE FIELD in their mythical national title run. If LSU loses 2 games we should all bow down to them as the champions of the universe. If Georgia loses two games they fell on their face. (See above). They bash Georgia mercilessly as if disgusted at even having talk about such a lowly program, but ignore how Georgia absolutely humiliated them ON THE FIELD the last two times they faced them.

Who is delusional again?

I am not dulusional,my post was directed at that moron 78 dawg, and if you followed the other posts it would make more sense….even beyond that, you read through these posts and there are way too many UGA fans ready to annoint themselves national champs before a down has ever been played. The post was more in reference to any UGA fan that thinks that they are going to walk through this year’s schedule undefeated when you have Auburn,LSU,Arizona St.(whom you should beat, but still it’s a road game)all on the road, and the cocktail party in Jax without a bye week to get ready for Florida this time.

And again, for those of you too slow to catch up,since 2000,LSU has 3 SEC titles,UGA-2,LSU has 2 national championships,UGA-0.Over the last 3 seasons we are tied with USC for most victories in the country(34).That isn’t rhetoric or my opinion sir, those are all facts. So when you speak of your beloved DAWGS as a dominant team win a national title FIRST,before you pound your chest…besides last I checked in the last 4 meetings UGA and LSU are 2-2 against each other.Do you wanna bring up history, how about the 34-13 whipping you took in 2003(the second that season)on our way to the title.

and last I checked the only thing mythical last season was Ohio State, there is only one crystal ball and we have it,and further more LSU didn’t ESCAPE UGA as you put it,if they would have handled there business and bothered to score a TD against South Carolina they would have had their chance to settle it on the field.

Can one of you fans from UGA actually post an argument that makes sense?

LSU: Losing Flynn, Hester and Dorsey and DC Bo Pelini is a huge loss in LEADERSHIP & DEPTH. With this void I don’t see them getting thru the tough games like they did last year. Who’s QB behind Periloux, a Harvard transfer?

BAMA: Bama has more depth, talent, leadership and experience on both sides of the ball, plus a year in Saban’s system. Bama was tight in every 2007 game and if the #1 recruiting class produces a Playmaker on offense and provides depth on the Defensive Line, Bama has a shot at the SEC West.

Auburn: upgraded offense w a mean OL but I think the question is how will their D be without Muschamp and will depth be an issue at QB as their hotshot QB transfer is reported as thowing w no armstrength after his last surgery.

The west is going to be Wild and Up for Grabs is all I’m saying. Good luck everyone, may the best team win. Roll Tide!

War Eagle,

2005,2006,2007 were the last 3 seasons in which LSU won 34 games, which is tied with USC for the most OVER THE LAST 3 SEASONS!!!

If you are going to correct me at least make sure you know what you’re talking about MORON!!!

Bama, you were tight in every game alright, especially the ones you lost to Louisiana-Monroe and Mississipi St.,lmao, keep dreaming dude,Bama won’t have a really strong team for at least another 2 seasons, this isn’t their year. The SEC west is a 2 team race between LSU and Auburn, and Auburn for the record is going through a pretty major overhaul of its own and will see some growing pains, new OC,there wideouts stink and a young QB.

Don’t underestimate LSU’s depth and experience.Yes,they lost alot of senior starters on both sides of the ball, but it’s not like the people replacing those departed players are true freshman with zero playing experience.Every starter that is gone from last year’s team will be replaced with someone who has been with the team at least 2 years (redshirt freshman included)and in some cases saw major playing time even though they weren’t considered starters.I actually think they will miss Hester’s leadership, but they gain big play ability with the other 4 RB’s they have assuming a more prominent role. The 2 big question marks for LSU will be at LB on defense,as in who besides Derry Beckwith is going to step up…and if Perrilloux is really gone from the team what kind of production can they get at QB Hatch/Lee???

ALABAMA: Will be improved but will all those off-field problems tag alone throughout the season. The best cure for all that negative pub.. will be winning and trust me all that takes a back seat when things are going good. But be assured that other coaches and teams will be quick to strike it all back up whenever there is a need to try and tip the scales and advantage their way.Looking at the schedule;should be alright during first half but second have will be challege once agian.Saban-will be in hot water if he goes 0_fer in the month of nov. again.Prediction:Better, but need another year to jell all tose talented freshman coming in. record—-7-4(8-5)with bowl win. LSU:Depends on Ryan P. defense should be strong but untested in the secondary, although talented. But being just talented don’t always get it done.Look at UF last year, talented but young, reason for a couple L’s.DL will be strong as usual, linebackers need to be proven also.I think the biggest ? will be the HC.If he continues to make calls like he did last year it will be a disater.IT’s mighty hard to get that many breaks 2 years in a row.But i think he new the kind of players he had then and leadership it takes to pull through all those close calls and games. So he should also know he can’t make those same decision this year or it will cost him,but knowing ol’ LES he will and it will cost them a few games. PREDICTION:QB will be the issue and how fast will that talented, but inexperiance secondary fare?HC will cost them 1 maybe 2 games, for being stubborn. RECORD:8-3(9-3)WITH BOWL WIN. AUBURN: ? ALL OVER THE BOARD,But also returning starters and players with tons of experience.Seems to me that, although they have a new OC and DC,AU will be the team to beat in the west.Looks like TF’s new offense is just what the dr. ordered and as for defense, they just need someone that is capable to man the post.It seems no matter who AU plug in there for DC,they seem to flourish and move on.Even david gibbs had AU in the top 15.IF Kodi burns works out the way AU hopes he will, they will be in for a very big year.I’m excited to see tony franklin with real SEC talent to work with.My guess,AU will break it’s single season school scoring record and plays record also.Just think,if AU could’ve scored AT LEAST 24 pts. a game this past season, instead of IN THE TEEN’S,they would’ve been in the NC hunt. PREDICTION: AU should be strong at running back and MARIO FANIN is a star in the making.Remember,Fanin was a QB in HS,alah! RB reverse pass.Haven’t seen that in a while.AU will be better suited to open up the offense now but my guess is ,they will be very balanced, with all those RBs.Defense will be super, provided they get good depth on the DL.TT always makes good hires,so AU should flourish all the way to ATL.Provided they upset UGA or UF in the sec champ..,they could ??? RECORD:12-1(UGA WINS AT AU;THEN AU WINS IN ATL. MOVING THAT WV GAME BACK MAKES BIGGER DIFF..,THAN WE KNEW.

Hilarious…you are just that. Who cares if LSU barely got past UGA in their NC run. Facts are facts. LSU has 2 NC’s in this decade. UGA hasn’t had one in 28 years. Get over yourself.

SECFB205,

keep my info, and come back in December,if Auburn wins 12 games I’ll kiss your rear end!!!

They will be in contention for the SEC West, but there is no way in hell they go 12-1…lol,you’re almost as bad as that 78 Dawg poster, lol…the spread isn’t a new system anymore, just about everybody in college football runs some variance of it now. Will it help,I am sure it will, there really isn’t much way to go but up for an Auburn offense that was near the bottom of the league in every category, but to really make the spread offense work you have to have spead at the skill positions, and lots of it,which Auburn doesn’t have yet.I think in another year or 2 as they are able to add some parts to that style of offense it will work better for them…but not this year. The winner of the LSU/Auburn game pretty much has been the home team the last several meetings so they makes me nervous for that game, west contenders for Auburn,YES,but they aren’t going to go 12-1 and compete for a national title!!!

For those of you who have lately joined our little program in progress, here’s the skinny on the whole controversy regarding how many national football championships UGA really has won … .

First of all, the NCAA does not “officially” recognize national championships in Bowl Championship Division (f.k.a. “Division I”) football. The reason? There is no NCAA-sanctioned playoff or championship game in Division I (unlike Division II and III), and there never has been. The current championship game is sanctioned by the BCS, which is a consortium of the six biggest Division I football conferences (ACC, Big East, Big 10, Big XII, Pac-10, SEC) and the Rose, Sugar, Orange and Fiesta bowls.

(Yes, the NCAA does list football “champions” on one of its webpages, but please read the fine print before popping off. Note that there are many, many years where there were multiple national “champions,” as so designated by various publications and news services of the day.)

The closest thing to The Truth is that UGA has won two (2) consensus national championships. Please note, however, that UGA stats fans can semi-legitimately claim three (3) more. The two (2) consensus national championships include 1942 and 1980 when the Associated Press poll and a majority of other publications recognized the UGA Bulldogs as the best team in the country, including 1927, 1946 and 1968.

FYI, the UGA Athletics Department only claims the 1942 and 1980 consensus NCs, but notes the three “split” titles, too. For you doubters, here’s the link to the UGA Awebpage:

http://www.georgiadogs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=46724&SPID=3571&DBOEMID=8800&ATCLID=526158

UGA is more honest about its football non-consensus national championships than many other schools. Georgia Tech, Bama, Notre Dame and others all claim NCs for years in which their team received an NC from a minority of the ranking publications of the day. To its everlasting credit, Penn State has three undefeated seasons for which it does not claim a title.

Just as an aside to my SEC friends, the University of Florida could claim a third NC in 1984 when the New York Times Poll recognized it as the best team in the country, but the UF athletic association does not claim it.

In the modern era since World War II, only the Associated Press (AP) Poll and the United Press International (UPI) / USA Today / ESPN Coaches Poll (or whatever the heck they’re calling it these days) have been the determinants of what Division I football team was the “national champion.”

We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming … .

Ah, yes, Tony’s topic … .

SEC West Champion: LSU

SEC East Champion: Florida or Georgia, to be determined on the playing field in Jacksonville.

For you Gator-skeptics, expect the Gator defense and running game will be much improved from 2007, and the offense will be even better with experience and the addition of a marquee running back. This is the year that the Gators’ 2006 and 2007 recruiting classes show how good they really are (and not just the handful of media-recognized names). The problem for the Gators is that the Dawgs may be as good or better in ‘08.

Sorry, General and War Eagle, but I don’t think this is going to be your teams’ year.

Tony..whats up with your boy tommy Bowden:

This morning’s Post & Courier in Charleston, SC has a front page article quoting James Davis as saying that Bowden and Co. are pulling Ray Ray’s schollie, b/c they are over the schollie limit and supposedly he can’t do both the academics and the football.

The article also says that Ray Ray took 21 hours and made the Honor Roll last semester while rehabbing his knee. There’s a quote from Tommy Bowden that Ray Ray can’t handle both academics and football. I have the hard copy paper, but would think the article would be in their online edition at charleston.net. so you can see it..

How the heck can you spin this one?

It’s pretty clear that they’re holding Ray Ray hostage, b/c he wants to try to continue his football career elsewhere. Davis says Ray Ray can’t call them out for what they’re doing or they will bad mouth him to other staffs.

They present this kid for all the media attention. They ask him to change positions to RB, b/c Davis and Spiller are so volatile that one or both may leave at any time. Then, when they sign Harper and Ellington, they kick Ray Ray to the curb, bad mouth his ability to do college work and play football and threaten him if he speaks up about it. That is beyond deplorable. It’s indefensible.

Don’t worry, Mom, we’re gonna take good care of your boy and make him a man. (so long as he is better than anyone else we might happen to trick into coming here, and we’ll do whatever we can to destroy his future if he complains about it).

Why do you always ive this guy a pass with good “pub”.

Atlanta Gator, it will be tough for Auburn if they lose to LSU and one other SEC school. I will stick by my previous prediction, winner Auburn-LSU West, and UGA and Florida, East.UGA could be a world beater, but CMR always finds a way to lose the big game. No NC for UGA this year, maybe 2010, Auburn will be in the battle 2009.

With basketball taking center stage Atop Rocky right now, I haven’t followed spring ball very close…I can’t argue the fact that we will be seen as a very dark darkhorse in the East, yet I recall the year AFTER one Peyton Manning left and the Crystal Football that came our way. Weren’t suppose to be very good that year either…Will history repeat..?

Congrats to the Lady Vols, SEC Tourney Champettes…

TigerInatl: Let’s get this straight. i never said they would for sure go 12-1. Just stating if a few balls fall their way, could be,LONG SHOT,but the way last year went, you mean to tell me, it’s not possible.Let’s look and see who we thought wouldn’t have a 1 or 2 loss season. KANSAS(COULDN’T HAVE PICK THAT,EVEN WITH THEIR SCHEDULE),MIZZU,UGA,V.TECH AND AFEW MORE I BELIEVE.All i’m saying is ,if you watched the AU team last year, without the early season miscues(11 TO’S in 2 games & games they still should’ve ,excuse me, could have won and a miracle play by lsu)could’ve easily been 12-1. Don’t get me wrong,i don’t believe in that would’ve,could’ve,should’ve mess. But i do see a team that was a few bounces away from having a very good year. You agree? And you know how the schedules flip in your favor every odd or so year.Well, last year was AU turn to have to make it through the confr..,with a very tough schedule(especailly away) and the scary thing is,is that they survived through the toughest part of the schedule and slip up through the more winnable part.I just see a team, with all their tough games at home this year, and a very favorable schedule away from home(Outside of WVU),Could hold serve at home and could come out looking good? It’s amazing how home field advantage helps a young QB and new OFFENSE.And i still say that moving that WVU game back to Oct.,23 was the best move of the season so far.But i’ll keep your information and hold you to that come the end of next season!!But it’s still a long shot, mainly because i think AU plays better on the road.call me the “SWAMI” after this year! Can’t wait till Aug.!!!!!

LOL SECFB205,

We shall see,I do see your logic, don’t agree with it,but we all have a right to pull for our teams,so I wish you luck!!!

I think changing the offense was a good move,it will just take a year or 2 for it to really pay off (see Florida-Urban Meyer)

Muschamp leaving was inevitable,he will be a head coach one day soon, and Texas gives him a better opportunity in that direction. The defense should be formidable again this season for your guys!

In reference to last year’s match up with LSU,I think people blew the whole clock thing out of proportion. The clock fan for another 2 or 3 seconds after Byrd mad that catch,if it would have affected the outcome of the game, they would have reviewed and put time back on the clock. It was not a gimme(would have been about a 40 yd FG),but they still would have had time to attempt a FG for the win even if he hadn’t made it…and let’s not forget the Florida game, where the ball did bounce your way.The kicker made that long FG twice after that TO.So you did catch a few breaks….Like I said you guys will contend for the SEC West,I see 8-9 wins, maybe 10 if the ball bounces your way,but it will take some time for the offense to gel.

By the way,do you have any tix for the LSU game? LOL,one tiger fan could help out another, right? Even if you do pull for the wrong ones!!!

lol,GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

TigerinAtl: i do see what you’re saying about the catch in the end zone.believe they still would’ve had time to kick. But as we know, reviewing is not the sec’s forte. The break that i was really refering to was the one when Hester scored(What a hellavu back, you all will miss him),and the pick up of the flag,”not enough men on the line of scrimmage”.That was the game changing call.but as i said before,i don’t believe in the would’ve,could’ve,should’ve of the world.By my account,AU should’ve never let them back in that position.Tried to get a little to bit conservative the second half. But your Tigers won,and what a helluva game!!! I do think WM leaving was a big blow, liked him a lot.But we will be good reguardless of who”s back there.Been checking them out this spring and defense looks awsome and more dept than one might expect. And the offense,it looks better than i imagined, and better suited now for the players we have, than the last offense. The way it looks,we might already have the players there to fit that system.Several receivers are stepping up this sping. That’s a welcome sight,VERY WELCOME!!!! Just wish i could see more of Chris Todd, shoulder injury, should be back before spring ends.So what’s the word on your QB?It would be a very big problem if he doesn’t play! Oh and as for the UF game,we out played them the whole night and the field goals were made from a very talented kicker. Not being judgemental, but i don’t see that as an lucky break.just 2 good kicks, by gifted young kicker. He has plenty more of those in his career. From one tiger to another,i only have 3 so far,I’m taking my 4yr. old to his first game this year and i thought LSU would be the game. But kindof changing my mind on that one.So maybe 1 and possibly 2,but might not be together. The other ticket would be on your side anyway. But i will check into it and see what i can do.Good luck to you guys also!AS if you need it!
