Tornado watch issued for Cobb, Cherokee
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A tornado watch has been issued that covers several counties in the metro area, including Cobb and Cherokee. The watch, which means conditions for a tornado are favorable, is in effect until 11 p.m.
Meteorologists at the National Weather Service said the front that spawned fatal storms in Texas late Tuesday will pass over Atlanta tonight, dropping up to an inch of rain in some areas. High winds and severe thunderstorms are possible as the storm front marches across Georgia.
Skies should be clear by morning, forecasters said.
