Teen struck by car in Cobb County, suffers minor injuries
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A 14-year-old boy was injured Tuesday in Cobb County after being hit by a car.
A maroon Dodge Ram truck hit the Sprayberry High School student from behind just before 5 p.m. in the 1100 block of Blackwell Road. The boy suffered face, hip and arm injuries that were not life-threatening and was taken to Scottish Rite Hospital for treatment, said Cpl. Dana Pierce, a Cobb police spokesman.
The youth had been riding his bike on a sidewalk when he went over the curb into the street to avoid a dog, Pierce said. He had not been trick or treating as earlier media reports indicated, Pierce said.
Cobb police declined to release the name of the victim or the driver. No charges will be filed.
