Braves enjoy good day on the road
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Braves got a lot of good news yesterday — and they needed it.
After Jorge Campillo’s latest impressive outing (one earned run in five innings with six strikeouts, topped off by a two-run single), John Smoltz threw two innings in Rome with his new-look three-quarters arm angle and expects to come off the disabled list before Monday’s game against the Marlins.
Smoltz allowed only one hit while throwing 27 pitches (17 for strikes) in his second rehab assignment. “I threw some real good, quality pitches that would get hitters out at any level,” the veteran right-hander told Steve Hummer.
Speaking of injured Braves, I’m not sure where the rumor started that Matt Diaz was going to be lost for the year, but the reality is that he’ll be out four to six weeks with a partial tear of the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. So now Gregor Blanco gets to play every day, and as long as Mark Kotsay is having trouble with his back, Omar Infante and Greg Norton will get playing time, too.
Which leads me to say how much I’m loving the Braves’ bench this year. It’s a talented, versatile bunch of guys who embrace their roles.
And, in a final bit of good news, the first vote totals for the All-Star Game have been released, and it’s looking really good for Chipper Jones to make his first appearance at the Midsummer Classic since 2001.
Chipper, who has an incredible .420 average heading into June, leads the Melts’ David Wright, 420,664 votes to 321,091.
“It would be cool to go to this one, last one at old Yankee Stadium,” the Braves third baseman told Carroll Rogers. “We’ll see. Still got a long way to go.”
Do you vote — or even watch — the All-Star Game? If so, which Braves will you vote for this year? Here’s how to cast your ballot.

My opinion about the road woes is that it began as essentially bad luck, mixed with some early bullpen troubles and then turned into a mental block. So essentially they needed some good breaks to get the team to mentally think that the deck wasn’t stacked against them on the road. The Braves got more than a couple of good breaks yesterday, hopefully they take that good luck and run with it.

even if chipper doesn’t win the ALL-STAR position because of votes, he’ll be chosen by the NL ALL-STAR manager to play
let’s face it, as much as i want chipper to win, NY will prob vote DWright in because of sheer numbers…
one way or another, CJ will be in
let’s take care of the REDS this weekend and get back home on a positive note…

chop chick,
Voted today for the all stars on mlb.com the max number of times. Here were my votes, and you’ll see not all the popular names, but what I, as a knowledgable fan, consider to be the most deserving. I don’t necessarily care about watching the game, but I think the NL will win finally this year.
AL 1b- Kotchman LAA (Youkilis some votes) 2b- Kinsler TX ss- Jeter NYY (Renteria some votes) 3b- Cabrera DET c- Mauer MN of- Dye CHS of- Upton TB (Crawford some votes) of- Hamilton TX dh- Matsui NYY (Ortiz some votes)
NL 1b- Berkman HOU 2b- Utley PHI ss- Ramirez FLA (Guzman a few votes) 3b - Jones ATL c- McCann ATL of- C Lee HOU of- Holliday COL of- Braun MIL (J. Bay a few votes)
Any serious/legit Braves trade rumors?

Chipper and McCann deserve to be starters. Whether or not they make it, who knows? The All-Star game is a popularity contest and it’s hard to beat out the Mets, Dodgers, and Cubs players because of the size of the fan base in the huge metro areas they come from. I would think they both will make it at least as backups. As far as pitchers, Hudson and Jurrjens should get consideration (and Campillo if he keeps up what he’s been doing).
Also, I haven’t really checked the other NL shortstops stats, but a strong case could be made that Escobar is worthy of being an All-Star….at least as a backup. batting over.300, hitting for some power, has some RBIs, and playing absolutely splendid defense.
As far as the road woes…like somone mentioned above, it’s been caused mainly by bad luck….which then turned into pressing. I think (hope)they are in the process of breaking out of it.

i like your NL picks, mandh
you left out pitchers, though
i think we throw WEBB and HUDSON in there
BTW, CNNSI says Holliday could be on the chopping block
We (braves) need a LF
maybe not affordable, though, and the bench has been doing a decent job out there

Voted the 25 max limit today. Chipper and McCann were the only Braves I voted for. As far as the A.L. goes I have to admit I don’t keep up with the players production as much so I have a tendency to vote for players on small market teams. I figure they need the vote.
As far as watching the all-star game, I have not watched a complete game since the early 80’s. Besides the all-star game not drawing my interest much, I am ready for a little break myself after watching or listening to the majority of the Braves games all year.
Two things I care absolutely nothing about is the home-run derby contest and that stupid rule about the winner gets home field advantage for the W.S. Of course my opinion may change on if the N.L. wins this year and the Braves make it to the W.S.

Chop Chick (Wiregrass Girl) I find the term, “legit left fielder” interesting. I’m not sure I know the definition of the way it is used by the bloggers here, but, a “Left Fielder” (NL)usually is an excellent hitter who is lacking defensive skills to play “Center” or “Right”. Weak arm, below average speed or fielding skills. Does anyone want to share their thoughts?

The crazy PT,GM blocked the returning Brandon Jones to Major, so Cox using 1B(DH) G.Norton and infielder O.Infante to LF. ^*^
So Chipper Jones couldn’t be changed to another player for rest, he is now 35years old. Today’s result Cox made. Responsibility is PT,GM,Cox’s.
Look now M.Diaz and M.Kotsay in in DL, and why just one outfielder returned? why Brandon Jones was blocked? PT,GM are both insane.
In AAA, 1B Rafael Canizarez is, for the purpose of blocking him, PT,GM traded meaningless G.Norton. Both guy’s insanity is 100%. CEOs who telling “they are sane” are insane too.

Chipper Jones had to move toward homeplate at 3B vicinity when Ken Griffy Jr and Brandon Phillips at bat, why? they were No.3 No.4 in line-up. ^*^
Babylon knew well about hitting sign about Griffy Jr and Phillips, so did broadcast to Cox to make sign “To advance toword Homeplate”
In short area, no infielder can catch the strong hit ball well.

Hi, I’m Seong-Ho,Yoon fighting alone with Babylon in Jinhae City southkorea.
Hey!! Jeff Brandon Francoeur!! It is first writting about you!!
1.You have to think again about “A little bit only down swing, when the bat hit the pitched ball only” Do you understand? ^^ In follow swing you can freely do upper direction, no problem like Brian McCann. ^^
2.Now so many pitchers are attacking your incorner of strike zone I think. Don’t do shovelling about incorner’s greatly located pitched ball, you have to do return to Basic, you have to swing in front of wall about 1feet distance. Do you remember? Think the basic of theory coach taught you when you were a boy. ^*^
May the force of Messiah be with you
P.S: Phillip Stockman was 2dimension greater than Manny Acosta when they were in Minor. Look Acosta’s piching, when McCann wanted outcorner, Acosta threw to incorner, ^^ when McCann wanted outcorner Bruce at bat, Acosta threw to center.^^ Bobby Cox using him closer.^*^
And how Rafael Soriano did contract of 9Million US$? he made saves much? ^^ PT,GM changed house to Manor?^^
Slave of Babylon can give money to them afterworld at any time.^^ People whose guardian is weak can be slave at any time by implanting. ^^

DOWN ON THE FARM
In rummaging about the farm system’s stats, I came across a young man with some impressive statistics. His name’s MIKE YOUNG and he plays CF on the MISSISSIPPI BRAVES. I know a few folks post here that are fans and attend the games of that franchise. So wha’s ‘zup with YOUNG.??
54 G, 182 AB, 32 R, 58 H, 4 2B, 5 3B, 1 HR, 24 RBI, 75 TB, 28 BB, 22 SO, 9 SB, 7 CS, ,421 OBP, .412 SLG., .319 BA, .833 OPS, 4 E.
I like the 58 H - 54 G ratio, and the 28 BB’s to 22 SO’s is excellent. 5 TRIPLES smells of some speed on the bases and the OF, but 4 E means maybe he’s still learning in that position. OBP is high of course, and the slugging in good. 9 SB/ 7 CS not so. Somebody who knows the league?? Does this represent a call-up to AAA???
We’re currently filling in CF since JOSH ANDERSON’s departure with REGGIE TAYLOR who’s been struggling this year with the stick.
Speaking of batting woes BRENT LiLLIBRIDGE is currently at .197 falling below the Mendoza Line again after getting up as high as .215. Leading the club in errors with 8 and in basestealing with 12 (3 CS). BRENT’s not had an easy year so far. His problems pre-date his batting-induced heel injury.
The organization continues to stick with him, but the R-BRAVES now have DIORY HERNANDEZ who has filled in admirably for “LiL BRIDGE.” Shortstop/Second Base HERNANDEZ is batting a team-leading .331 in 86 AB.
BARBARO CANIZARES remains steady with the bat (.320) and around the bag (3 errors). I think his fielding is slowly improving. His season’s line: 52 G, 185 AB, 19 R, 59 H, 10 2b, 0 3b, 6 HR (tied for the club lead with THORMAN), 32 RBI, 88 TB, 15 BB, 29 SO, 0 SB, 0 CS, .368 OBP, .480 SLG., .320 BA, .840 OPS, 3 E.
CANIZARES continues a slugger’s mentality with a 2/1 SO/BB ratio and leads the club with 32 RBI and 88 TB. OBP suffers with the low BB count, but the TB’s raise the slugging to an acceptable level. G/H ratio good, but obviously ponderous when running the bases, 0 SB. BARBARO continues to be a valuable man in a DH role on a NL team. If his work with the glove pays off and continues to show improvement, he could be released from his minor-league prison, and become ATLANTA’s solution to the back-up 1B job. He should also bring some heavy lumber to the plate as a PH.
We have a new LF in town the past two games - JASON PERRY. BATTING .500 in eight AB with 1 2B, and 1 HR (8 TB). He’s over from TOLEDO (the MUD HENS of M.A.S.H. fame). His stats there not so good. Not sure at this point how we acquired him from the TIGERS organization, but he’s made a splash taking BRANDON JONES’ place in the line-up. I’m guessing with the PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE (SEATTLE org.) background, DAVE BRUNDIGE has clued in ATLANTA to sign him, and give him an opportunity to at least fill-in in the OF. We’ll see.
To my knowledge, BRANDON has no injury. But he is slipping at the plate (.258). Still leads the club with 14 doubles, however.
DAMION MOSS picked up his second win (2-4). His game line: 5 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 SO. This is typical of his starts this year. Good, but not dominating the league, which you must do to have the opportunity to excel in ATLANTA.
ANDY SHIBILO pitched well in long relief going 3.0 IP, goose-eggs except for 5 SO. Good job, ANDY.
AND JEFF RIDGWAY picked up his 3rd save with 9th inning relief including 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, and 1 SO.

Hi, I’m Seong-Ho,Yoon living in Jinhae city south korea now.
Theseday, Brandon Jones quit Baseball???^*^
Hey Brandon Jones!! The carmness in your heart is important at bat I think. But this is difficult. Why?
Humanbeing’s heart must be purified by any method or grinded by disturbance from Satan.
Blood can disturb heart’s purification, so you have to quit Medicine, anty-natural agent, and neglect Media, and alwasy think the basic you learned, and read Harry Potter The Gospel from Yerusalem, reading Gospel can purify heart and your stability at game will grow up.
And The Light of Messiah, which means the light in Mind’s Eye with strong eye-sight,can heart world well. Penetrate the light in your Mind’s Eye through your soul in your Mind’s Eye. About 3second or 5second. Don’t radiate too long. Do you understand?
I saw you in AAA broadcasting trailer. You hit the HR out of ballpark. ^*^ Hit softly with reduced power and soft grip and shortest time please.

Hi, I’m Seong-Ho,Yoon living in Jinhae City Southkorea now.
John Smoltz!!”Old pitcher need plenty of warming-up your body more than the young before pitching you know well I think, so Veteran pitcher fit for starter. Don’t make down your right shoulder arm, ache? and make the throwing point to a little front of your face more than before.
You and Glavine and Hudson fans can trust only I think. In post-season, Joseph Reyes, Jorge Campilo, Jeff Bennett can’t help team, J.Jurjian I don’t know.
Jeff Francoeur!! “Short Start and followswing freely” You have to do more about training of distance 1feet from wall when you swing. Normal human don’t know what this mean^*^Real baseball player only know well I think.

Hi, I’m Seong-Ho, Yoon living in Jinhae City(Sea of Glass)southkorea now.
I’m returned to home too lately.
Today I want to insist that John Smoltz and Tom Glavine and Tim Hudson must be like Sun illuminationg painfull USApeople for resonance schumann of Babylon.
If you would be retired soon, pitchers of Brave must lose to Babylon’s resonance schumann and freely be controlled I think. And the life of Brave would disappear.
Until the time players who don’t lose to resonance schumann of Babylon would be sit in whole position, you three must protect brave for fans and people over the world looking Braves.
May the foce of Messiah be with you
P.S: Below is my blog’s some article
Freemason
Theseday it is easy for you to read articles about freemason ruling whole world in the web. But, really speaking, this is trick of the most malevolent Babylonian living in korean peninsla for the purpose of imputating their sins to freemason and the original culprit are Baylonian whose language is korean.
And what is Freemason?
[18Century passport of Freemason]
The painting upper direction was in the passport of Freemason in 1785. Look presicely.
In top-most, the world Justice exist. God is Conscience and Justice sense.
In the below, Someone’s face is painted like Sun, and the middle of his forehead is wide, dark eyebrow, nose a little wider than the white, and you can find this face is something like Asian. Yeh Solomon, Osiris, Messiah,Lion’s face.
In the below again, Isis and another wife exist, and in center of both located Pheonix which means the guardian of Isis.
In the left side, Pyramid is and in right You can catch the flags of Judah’s 12tribe.
The sentence of script I can’t read for this word I don’t know well. ^*^
After all, this Freemason meant that people who didn’t forget Solomon and waited Osiris, and they were connected with Judah’s 12Kingdum. They knew so well about reality theeseday I am writting over the world.
[Article about Messiah]
And upper document someone wrote I think you need to contact, but never easily you could meet with them I think. But, they don’t know this fact “Allah is Messiah” and they would be people of Judah. The good people have to hand in hand with them, and you can’t trust people who don’t want to meet and help me, if they would avoid me they must be slave or descendant of not Judah but Israel. Person who can’t talk about Neutron and Resonance Schumann would be like witches and wizards who can’t tell “Voldmort” and you can’t trust them all and unbelievable. Originally Freemason pursuited the whole kinds of Justice about history, laws, economy, etc, and Freemason who chase Common Sense Babylon made must be slave or hyperjesus.
This Freemason was started to be fully attacked by Neutron from 1880’, so they caught the information about Neutron by intelligence office, they informed this secret to Judahs’ 12tribe’s Kingdums, World War1,2 were occurred by very this information You exactly have to know I think. Freemason informed the King of Japan and Japan invaded korean peninsla and southchina, but the insufficient information couldn’t defend themselves from implanting spy, therefore Implanted inslaved bosses of Japan attacked Hawai Island by the order from Babylonian who was living in north china and southafrica.
If Freemason would dislike the war about Babylon, that is proof of inslavery, because they were people who named Atomic Bomb to Neutron Clear Bomb. This fact the kings of Judah’s 12tribe couldn’t tell a nation for poor scientific knowledge, and they didn’t want to make nation to be horrified.
