Check, please!

OK, Liberty Media. Show and prove. You said there’s flexibility in YOUR budget so that the Braves can spend a bit to win.

We could use more wins. Pony up that flexibility. Let’s get this new ownership thing started off right.

A bit to win I suppose is the key word. An additional 20 to 30 million will just about do it. Don’t know if that is consisdered a bit in ownership’s mind or not. Another proven starter and depending on Andruw’s departure or not, a future outfielder will be needed. Maybe resign A.J. if possible and the price is reasonable. Chop Chick that was a short, quick and to the point blog. Must have been having fun at the game or a tanning bed appointment to get to.

Listen, Lee, if I thought Liberty would write a blank check for JS to cash and spend at will I’d have said so. THEY didn’t hint at that and I doubt that’s in the cards at all.

Does a blog have to be really long to say “Spend some money on the team, owners”? I think not. Why couch it in flowery terms? We need starting pitching (we always need that, it seems, even when we have it) and I’m on the fence about Andruw and not just because of his performance so far this season. Defensively, he’s the guy. But his offense has always been streaky. We’ve been patiently waiting for him to put it all together. When does that happen? Why hasn’t it yet happened? WILL it happen?

What do y’all think? If Liberty shocks us by proving they’re the Anti-TimeWarner and shelling out some bucks toward the Braves signing free agents and/or going for big names in the trading game for a major stretch run (if needed; our rotation could go nuts and win like crazy — let’s hope) who would you like to see don the Tomahawk? It doesn’t sound QUITE as much like the “Sorry, bank’s closed” days rule as it did in the past. Not yet, anyway. But Liberty’s not throwing open the doors to the Money Bin, either.

And also — tanning bed appointment? Thanks, but I’ll get mine from the fine God-given Georgia sunshine. I don’t fake ‘n’ bake.

Yeah, some more money spent would be nice. Corporate ownership, however, has its disadvantages.

I’m not on the fence with Andruw as I was before; not just because of recent performance, but because of patterns of performance. And whether you’d like to admit it, he’s lost a step or two in the outfield and not making the plays he once did.

The best thing about AJ’s bad year is that it must be p** that f*wit Scott Boras off. And anytime that happens is a source of minor joy for me.

Oh really? Guess what…..baseball is as boring as it gets and that’s what this blog is about. Slow as Christmas game flow, apathetic fans and “we just go to the ballpark to take in some sun” mentality. Just 3 more months until August 1. You know…football, the king….undisputed champion…the maker of cities….
