The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
First, Barbaro. Then, Brian.
Bad weekend for big fellas and ankles. Let’s say prayers for both, y’all.

Once again I would like to point out to you how distracted Giles appears at the plate and in the dugout. The shot of him hanging over the dugout rail with a blank expression on his face earlier in the game, spoke volumes. Something outside of baseball is bothering the young man. His strikeouts and consistent uppercut swings are not typical for him over such a long period of time. I know one thing —- he is killing us as a leadoff hitter.

OMIGOD! Reeksma is warming up. Del, did you hear what Skip just said? With a 2-run lead, Reeksma has saved only half of his save opportunities. Why is Bobby punishing this team?

Bobby does it again. Diaz on the bench, Branyon in reserve, and he lets Pratt hit. Go figure. Why did Giles cut in front of ER trying to field that grounder? Lack of concentration ?? I swear, if ER blows this game, I’m done watching the Braves till CR is officially removed as our closer.

Del, I hope that doesn’t mean we won’t see you until next year.

Bobby and Chris tried to give it away, but Macay saved their bacon. Could this be the last, forever final game we will see CR as our closer?? One can only hope against hope !!

Elder Eric … What makes you think that CR won’t be our closer next year? Now isn’t that a comforting thought? Ugggggggghhhhhhh.

Possible FUTURE closers; Boyer, McBride, Paronto, Phil Stockman [AAA], Will Startup, Michael Nix. All have dominating stuff needed for a closer.

I bet cox will use a roating closer for the moment—-whoever has the hot hand—he will probaly start with Rem 1st and then have ray and others warming up just in case. I am afraid to say it couldn’t get worse—but it could. Smotlz can’t pitch 130 pitches on Monday—although I will be there—if it doesn’t rain out. We have 2 good starters and a half—-and no pen.

Excuse me, did I read that McBride, Boyer, and Paronto have “dominating stuff” ???? Paronto can’t hit 90, McBride and Boyer both are starters waiting for a spot, and have no single out pitch. Can you please define “dominating” for me again????
