Bradley’s Buzz: OK, I was wrong
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A compendium of my own greatest misses
Because I’m a jolly good fellow and a great sport, I’ve changed the Buzz format a bit. Today I’m going to start by linking to myself — and all the times I was wrong about Georgia and/or Florida. If you’re a Gator backer, this will make for entertaining reading. If you’re a Georgia supporter, you won’t care one way or another because you’re still hiding under the mattress. Either way, here goes:
In May I predicted Georgia would win the national championship. In July I gave 10 reasons it would win the same national championship. A few days later I offered an 11th reason. (Getting to be a stuck record, wasn’t I?)
In September I rated Georgia the SEC’s best team. Earlier that month I’d said Georgia would be 5-0 and beyond worrying about style points. (Reality check: Alabama stacked 41 real points on the Bulldogs to drop them to 4-1.) After the LSU game I got really excited and again averred that Georgia was the class of the SEC and would beat Florida.
You’re aware that Georgia fell a mere 40 points shy of beating Florida over the weekend, and if you’re asking me was I surprised — well, what do you think? I wouldn’t have spent the previous six months proclaiming the Bulldogs’ worth if I believed they were going to lose the biggest game of the year 49-10.
Nor would I have called Matthew Stafford a better quarterback than Tim Tebow had I known Stafford was going to throw the ball to the Gators nearly as often as Tebow did. But I still would have tweaked Urban Meyer, who’s a fine coach but something of a pill.
And I won’t recant my belief that Florida fans are the SEC’s most obnoxious. The past 48 hours clinched that title in perpetuity. (Not that I’m bitter or anything.)
But enough of my writings and ramblings …
Here are some links to some writers who were actually in Jacksonville. (I wasn’t. I covered the Hawks’ home opener.) Matt Hayes of Sporting News Today leads with a taunt from Mrs. Urban Meyer. Esteemed former colleague Mark Schlabach of ESPN.com leads with Mr. Urban Meyer’s use of timeouts.
Writing for CBSsports.com, Dennis Dodd claims no team is playing better than Florida. If that sounds like a familiar Dodd theme, there’s a reason: He wrote essentially the same thing about Alabama after it beat Georgia. So there’s the formula: Beat the Bulldogs, impress Dennis Dodd.
Here, from the Gainesville Sun, is Pat Dooley writing about Florida’s defense, which Mr. Meyer branded “soft” after last season’s loss to Georgia. And Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union writes about Gator defensive coordinator Charlie Strong, who has made a career of thwarting Georgia.
Tech to Miami! Georgia to somewhere else!
In their weekly bowl projections for ESPN.com, Schlabach and Bruce Feldman both have Georgia Tech heading to the Orange Bowl as the ACC champ. Schlabach tickets Georgia for the Capital One Bowl, Feldman for the Cotton. And who, before the season began, would have figured Tech would be part of a BCS game and Georgia wouldn’t? (Not me. See above.)
Peter King on many Georgians
Tucked inside the dense verbiage of his Monday Morning Quarterback feature, Peter King of SI.com names Matt Ryan and John Abraham the offensive and defensive players of the week. He also quotes St. Louis safety Corey Chavous as calling Stafford “Jeff George with a team-first attitude.” And Peter, who sometimes writes as if he’s determined to fill up every last megabyte of cyberspace, also quotes, via NFL Films, Mike Smith’s slightly edited diatribe against the officials after the Adam Jennings non-muff in Philadelphia.
Disease of the week — J-Smoove
Tucked in the dense verbiage of his NBA preview, Bill Simmons of ESPN.com labels Josh Smith the league’s “biggest cancer.” Now it’s not like I’m never wrong about anything — see above — but has Bill Simmons ever met Josh Smith? Because I have, and what I see is a young man striding purposefully toward maturity.
FYI, here are the Cancer Man’s stats through two games: He’s averaging 17 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks, and he has made 54.5 percent of his shots. And his team, it must be noted, is 2-0.

Thx for bringing up the class of the SEC…which reminds me of the classless moves Knowsho put on this weekend..1) giving C. Strong a little tap on the rear after a 10+ yard gain in the first half 2) Running across the field after a gator kick off to run his mouth to a UF player who got peeled and lit up by a UGA blocker, nice move as you were not on the field for the play and you did not notice the scoreboard.

It wasn’t pretty, it wasn’t fun and it does hurt. I guess what we Dawgs want to dwell on is the “Urban Meyer is a pill motif.” Tebow is a once in a lifetime athlete in the Hershel Walker tradition. Also an outstanding human being. We have the misfortune of playing him when he’s surrounded by a supporting cast who can make it embarrassing for us. And embarrassed we are. Tebow is so unusual he may even come back next year. It’s a sad commentary on where we are to even have to talk about next year. But we’ll be back as well.

The only pill is the bitter one you have to swallow. You are a coward for skipping out on the game because deep down you knew what was coming. Have fun with the memory of this butt-kicking for the next year, because it’s going to be worse in 2009. Urban now knows why we hate Uga, and he will never overlook this game again.

Mark… You’re a class guy, who “tells it like it is” or, at least how you see it. I appreciate your candor about the result of the game and your predictions. I, too, thought the Dawgs would do well only to be let down. I saw from the start they did not match the intensity of the Gators and would be in trouble there, although I still believe they’re a much better team than they showed. I also agree about the fans who blog here (not just the Gator fans, but UGA’s), and the venom they spew when the players don’t play up to the their expectations. I wrote the following in Jeff’s post the other night, and I think it bares repeating, so here goes:
Florida is the best team in the country at this moment, and anyone who can’t see that doesn’t know football. The Dawgs got beat by an incredible team, with superior coaching and conditioning. I don’t care for the way they run up scores on everyone (not just UGA), but I have to tip my hat to their team. They will continue to impress - the football nation, pollster, talking heads, and me. There is not another team this season that will compete with them. The Gators will be champions again.
With that said, many of the so-called fans who blog here, who don’t play a down, and wouldn’t qualify to carry a jock strap, are some of the most vile, sick, rude people on the face of the earth. Do you think it’s easy preparing for these games, making mistakes and then listening to you’re warped views in these blogs? I’m not talking about me or other bloggers… it’s the players - who you know will read this. They don’t deserve your hate and ha-ha’s. They play for their schools, for pride, for each other… for your entertainment… and for TV contracts that make a fortune on “their” efforts (read ESPN). Yet, when they don’t go undefeated, or win convincingly enough to please you, you go ballistic in these blogs and tear them and their coaches down! What’s funny is these kids will go on to lead productive lives, and probably never darken these blogs where so many underachieving low-lifes and insecure babies love to reside.
I’m proud of the Dawgs… today, this year, last year, forever. They didn’t take the week off like a lot of folks did. These kids do the best they can -every day- to make us proud and, win or lose, I will always support them. Again, congratulations to the Gators! May you win it all and make the SEC Nation proud!

UGA finally played the complete game everybody has been predicting. When some level of the team is playing good or bad, the potential is for the whole team to play all bad or all good. They whiffed at all aspects of the game. They played closer to their potential as an undisciplined choke team against UF than the monster team used against LSU. Now the question is, do they have enough character to complete the season without another whiff game?

Mark, it’s good to see you hold yourself accountable, but you should have also linked to your preposterous statement from about 3 years ago that Georgia was the “standard bearer of the SEC”. Why? Well I guess because Mark Bradley loves Mark Richt and felt the need to publicly express it. Georgia was not then and is not now even the standard bearer of the southern third of the SEC East given that Florida has beaten them 16 of the last 19, including a number of absolute whippings such as the one on Saturday.
And with regard to obnoxious fans, as someone with no connection to either school I don’t think Florida fans are even remotely as obnoxious as Georgia fans. Florida fans tend to be cocky, but unlike Georgia fans their cockiness is based on actual accomplishments on the field in the last 15+ years rather than recruiting and preseason polls and ifs and buts and how we don’t get enough respect in the rankings. Ask Stewart Mandel of CNNSI who the most obnoxious fans in the country are - he declared Georgia fans the winner a few weeks ago based on the amount of email whining about the lack of respect they got in the polls, even after the beatdown from Alabama.

Mark,
A nice attempt at eating some humble pie after your overboard crowing for the past 365 days about the Dawg’s rattling Tebow last year (despite his obvious injury). I think Saturday’s game put that issue to rest.
I’m somewhat surprised that you didn’t use your typical Urban “Crier” or Urban “Liar” moniker when talking about our head coach. Don’t you think “Kicked” Richt would be more appropriate? After all, he is now 2-6 against the Gators, with one win happening 4 days after Zook was fired and the other one when Tebow was so rattled by your defense last year. Yep, the tide has sure changed in the series. I’m sure your next article will be on moving the game to Athens and Gainesville since the Gators have such a great home field advantage in Jax. Seems like the distance from Athens to Jax is about the same now as it was when Vince Dooley was Dawg #1. But I guess the Georgia state line really begins at Fulton County.
And please keep up the discussion on how high a draft pick Stafford’s going to be! That obviously has a lot of bearing on who wins the GA-FL game. But when Stafford’s gone next year, I’m sure the Dawgs will get along very well with Joe Cox at the helm. Oh, and by the way, since you and about 95% of the Dawgs’ faithful were not in attendance during the 4th quarter, Joe directed masterful touchdown drive against the Gator bench defense. But in the spirit of the game, and to recognize UGA’s immense effort for three and a half quarters, the Gator Nation was there in full force to provide a standing ovation!

Mark — As long as you’ve decided to stage a rare and fleeting moment of self-awareness, please recognize that you are not a sports analyst. You are a booster writer pandering to UGA fans.
That’s the only reason for you to have made the kind of drooling declarations you published at end of last season and in the pre-season about the Dawgs’ 2008 prospects. Columnist Pat Dooley, whose Gainesville readership is in a college town (vs. a huge metro area with partisans from many different fan bases) has every reason to be a UF partisan but is actually analytical and realistic about the Gators’ prospects each season. Somehow you turned a 2007 UGA season that included losses to inferior programs at USC and Tenn, plus a big win over HAWAII (!) and no appearance in the conference championship game or even an East title, into national championship pretensions for 2008. Did you ever consider that Richt’s team and their pair of of NFL superstars have never demonstrated they were reliable winners? Instead, you concocted a storyline of undeserved strength and meaning from the UF blip game plus “finishing strong” against a bunch of mediocre opponents. Until UGA and Richt can consistently beat UF, win an SEC title or even the East again without backing into the SECCG, you might want to lay off the pre-season No. 1 hype and consider the factual basis for your analysis. Or, you could just remain a booster writer and we’ll look elsewhere for college football analysis. I can read UGA fan fluff and Mark Richt-slanted views of the world in their school’s press guide.

Mark - I think it’s appropriate to put your idiotic comments here:
“Because when Georgia plays the way it did here [at LSU], Georgia is — pause for effect — the class of the SEC….If you can do this to LSU in frothing Tiger Stadium, you need have no fear of Florida or anything reptilian.”
“Urban Meyer, you have been warned.”
“Tim Tebow is a great player. Tim Tebow is the Heisman holder. Come Saturday, Tim Tebow will be the second-best quarterback on the field.”
“So which team has better playmakers? I say Georgia.”
“Urban Crier”
“I believe Georgia is better and will win again, but I am, as you know, often wrong.”
That’s the only thing you were right about!

Yes, Bull Gator, I thought the applause by the Gators to be a fine display of sportsmanship. And you have to give it to the Dawgs. They kept battling even though the Gators kept throwing 2nd, 3rd, then 4th stringers at them. Mighty fine effort for ‘em to finally get one across.

UGA under Richt will win an awful lot of games but never the big one. He is a great man but not a great coach when compared to the Urban Meyer’s of the football world. We’re 2nd best in the SEC and that’s what we will always be. If that’s OK then you will be a happy Dawg.

From your hack job on Urban Meyer this past summer:
“Perhaps what most rankles Urban Meyer is the realization that, with one imperfectly scripted tactical swoop, Richt changed the dynamics of a series. Perhaps Urban Meyer grasps that the Bulldogs are no longer apt to roll over and be dominated.”
Ha!! Go Gators! :)

What do you know, Mark Bradley finally admits he’s wrong about something. I thought I’d never see that.
Next, Mark, you can admit you were wrong about your support of Don Waddell—as the sole architect of the pitiful mess known as the Thrashers as we embark on another “Five-Year Plan” and “building through the draft” (Waddell’s past bluster).
Stop defending the indefensible, Mark—like you did with Pete Babcock. Otherwise, you’re nothing but a sell-out.

Mark Bradley - It has been blatantly obvious that you and the other writers at the AJC are very pro-UGA and not the least bit objective. In fact, you and the other AJC writers have been “in the tank” for UGA for years, very much like the media is for Obama. At least you are beginning to see the error of your ways. Good luck in your (hopefully) transistion to more objective journalism.

THe difference between winning and losing this game is that UGA plays with no fire and heart! When things go bad, they lost intensity and lost the game.
For all of you who are sure Stafford will be a great pro, I am not so sure I agree. To me, he has great talent but makes bad decisions. He also has the look that it does not bother him to lose. I question his overall leadership.
Here are a few of the quotes from last week:
“Gators speed wont matter,we are in their heads”
“Gators defense has not been tested”
“Ga has a better QB”
“Timmy and Urban cryers”
“Florida will play in the toilet bowl”
“Gators cannot stop UGA’s offense”
“Ga will stomp a mudhole in Tebow’s A$$”
“Florida will be introduced to REAL smashmouth football”
“Ga will run all over Florida”
“Florida isn’t as tough as Georgia and doesn’t go deep successfully”
“Gimmicky spread offense”
Well, now all you Dawg fans can complain about the refs and cry wait until next year! Go back to your standard references about mullets and jorts!
DON’T DESPAIR UGA, THERE IS ALWAYS THE CITRUS BOWL…

Bill Simmons of ESPN hates Josh Smith because Smoove played a huge part in the Hawks nearly sending his precious Boston Celtics on an early vacation from the 1st round of the playoffs.
Bill Simmons is the total @ss-clown package who spends 99% of his time writing columns about the Boston area sports teams and all of his uninteresting memories of those same Boston teams.
Simmons, who writes for what is allegedly an impartial sports publication (ESPN), is the definition of a homer and has less class in his entire person than Josh Smith has in his little finger.
I don’t understand how Bill Simmons has managed to stay employed as a sports columnist with the incredibly inane and self-serving garbage that he produces.

I was at a Georgia game in the early 90’s when Georgia fans threw ice and bottles at the Georgia football team as they left the field. I have never seen that before anywhere. To say that UF fans are worse sports than those at Georgia is as big a falsehood as maintaining that Stafford is better than Tebow. Furthermore, Meyer and Richt were separated at birth.

Tebow 51TDs passing, 50 rushing. 66% completions 9 INTs
Stafford 38TDs passing, 10 rushing. 55% completions 31 INTs
Tebow is GREAT college player. Stafford has a great arm who may be a great pro. In college, there is NO comparison. Hope Matt will come back to fulfill his promise, but so far it is only promise.

Georgia fans will be contempt with 8 or 9 wins maybe even 10 wins a season. The fact of the matter is that Florida doesn’t have better ytalent than Georgia, they have better coaches! They scheme better, the game plan better and their players are motivated more than Georgia’s. With 9 defensive returners coming back for Georgia this year, i thought the defense would be the stregnth of the team, well they are the weakest. In my opinion, thats coaching. Not getting better over the summer, but regressing. The penalty situation is clearly hurting the bulldogs. Maybe that celebration at last years cocktail party has affected the dogs. Do you believe that if another coach was head coach of the dogs they would compete for championships, national championship. I love dawgs, I always will but the reality of all of this is that we will never win a national championship under this current coaching staff. We need a get in your face coach. Point Blank!!!

First, great post G8TR! You have more or less covered most of the important talking points with regard to Bradley and his catering to the ‘Hunker Down’ nation.
How is that crow tasting this morning Mark? With all your preseason proclamations of UGA superiority and forthcoming dominance of the GA/FL rivalry, I think you should perhaps pen another article that illustrates how wrong you were all along. If memory serves me correctly, I blasted you last week for the obvious favoritism you show for the Dawgs and how you declared them the winners of the Cocktail Party the day following the victory over mighty LSU. I seem to remember the last thing I said to you was something to the effect of how I can’t wait to hear what you have to say on Monday. And this is all you have to say? You’re not getting off the hook that easily my journalistically inept friend!! We Gators have reasserted our dominance over this rivalry and that was with a team that is roughly 70 percent freshmen or sophomores. That’s right GA fans, we have 85 scholarships, of which 60 are not even juniors yet. Speaking of GA fans, there are two things I wish to vent about. First, you guys are the most fickle bunch I’ve ever witnessed. You guys spent most of your lunch breaks last week overconfidently gushing about how superior GA is to FL and how the tide in the series turned on your bum rush of the field and subsequent win last season. Yet, I seem to remember after the Vandy game this year that according to you all that Mike Bobo is not ready to be an SEC OC, Willie Martinez must be replaced, Mark Richt doesn’t properly prepare his players during the week for games, etc. And now I’m reading a few blogs this morning from UGA fans that have reverted back to the complaints about coaching and preparation (and is inevitably followed by some offering of hypothetical strategy that should’ve been applied by the coaches). Am I severely mistaken here, or has Richt won 3 SEC titles and was one win shy of earning a berth in the BCS title game in 2002 (the one loss came to FL, but that’s neither here nor there). If you all truly feel this way, then I’ve got to say that you all are the most ungrateful bunch in the history of college or football. Any school who has a coach with Richt’s winning percentage, conference titles, BCS bowl appearances, and the like would be more than happy to sign off on a contract extension. What’s more, he is a class guy (and yes, I say this even in the face of the off-season arrests) and runs a clean program. Yet, I read some of the drivel on here and I sense an overwhelming sentiment of entitlement from a group of spoiled brats who seem to think that winning a national championship is easy. News flash: It’s not easy!! Richt will win a national championship as a head coach somewhere, but I can’t think of a more undeserving fan base than you all. Which brings me to the second point I wanted to make, when GA scored their first and only touchdown late in the fourth, there were no GA fans there to cheer and support their team. So, what happened? All the Gator fans still in attendance stood, clapped, and cheered on their behalf. You all should be ashamed. Hey Bradley, add that to your obnoxious fan discussion.
GO GATORS!!!

We are 2nd tier and will be until we show some HEART!! Richt has had 8 years to win the big one and get’s paid $3 Million to do that. Well, coach WTF?!! You are not in the same class as Saban, Miles, Meyer, and even Phat Phil has a NC ring.
Richt will keep us good but not great. We need that killer instinct not a friggin preacher….

Georgia does not have the same talent as Florida. That simply is an overstatement of Ga’s talent
By the same token, Richt manages to get outcoached 2 times every year.

*Series Record:
Georgia 47 Wins Florida 39 Wins
You’re still in second place in this series little Gators.
Enough said.*
Lol! They were still putting out the fires from Sherman’s march when that record was started. How many 100 year-olds are around to brag about their participation in the first decade of Georgia dominance? LOL!
Speaking of Sherman, why do those Georgia morons use the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” as their fight song? Sherman stomps on Georgia and their “flagship” University bends over, grabs their ankles, and adopts the Hymn as their fight song?
Hell, I guess if getting stomped, marched over, and burnt to the ground is the prerequisite to choosing a fight song, you guys should start using Florida’s fight song next year.

I don’t feel bad that UGA was beaten, but I do feel awful that they were CRUSHED. As I said before the season, among all the hype from UGA fans, you dont know who won the game until the game is played, and from all I see the Gators definately won the game. You guys have 3 more games to play and you may win them all, but we won’t know until the games are played. Agree?

So happy the Dawgs won the first 9 games before 1915 to give them the overall series record, LOL.
The Gators own the Dawgs and have for the last 20 years. 49-10 mean anything to you Dawg fans?

Mark,
You don’t like the personality of our coach? He is a pill? I can’t tell you how little I care, and I can’t even begin to measure how much you wish he was your pill.
You have done a diservice to your readers by giving them so much false hope. It is like promising the kids on the short bus that they can be doctors. But I expect you spent your share of time on the short bus, so you know of what I speak.
“The Pill” is yours to swallow. Take it yearly until you “get it.”

Why the AJC pays you a dime is beyond me. To speak with such bravado before a game and to get it so wrong must be an embarassment not just to your employer but to your family as well.
I must admit I relish that the Gators demolition of Georgia eats at you so. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving dweeb.
Good luck with the job search.

Here’s what UGA needs to understand: their pro-style of offense does NOT win championships in college!
It wouldn’t matter how great their defense is supposed to be if your offense isn’t efficient enough to win.
Spread offenses and 4 and 5 Wide Receiver sets wins titles. You cannot win in today’s college football with only a running game, something Richt needs to understand.
Schemes and systems win titles in college, that’s why you will always see teams like Florida and USC in the running for a championship.
Don’t believe me? Just look at how the Big 10 tries to run these conventional offenses only to get destroyed when playing a team that can put more than 2 WRs on the field, like in the SEC.
Richt needs to go back to what won a title at Florida State, which is to recruit a scrambling QB and develop a pass-first offense mixed in with their running attack.
I think Stafford could do it, but they need to spread the field more and pass first, second and often, that has always been Georgia’s greatest problem.
Until they change their style of offense, FLA will continue to own UGA.

“And I won’t recant my belief that Florida fans are the SEC’s most obnoxious.”
Just read the post from FL fans prior to this one. They sure do seem to back up Bradley’s statement.

I know it is hard for you guys to believe, but I really do not mind a 40 point loss. The reason why is that I can find comfort in the fact that the best team won. It wasn’t us and we got the L. OK, I can live with that.
What is much harder to accept is a 1 or 2 point loss to a team that we shoulda, coulda, and woulda beat if one play had been different. Those are the losses that reek, and I am glad we have not had many.
The last I remember is the Jasper Sanks fumble. That loss was tougher than the Florida game. So as long as the Dogs play tough and beat the teams that they are capable of beating, then I am OK with the rest.
I would be delighted with a 10-2 season and a bowl win. Most fans and most schools would too.
So go Dogs! Beat Kentucky, Auburn and Tech.
I would

Why do we even respond to Dawg nonsense anymore?!?!?!?! There is no rivalry. This game is getting like a Kentucky game-pretty much a sure thing.
Now Auburn and Ole Miss-those damn guys have our number!!!! Houston Nutt can coach, I hope they don’t start getting good recruits. Gators have a whole lotta’ meat left on this 2008 bone of a season. Vandy unfortunately is never a gimme-although it’s been a long time it’s always scary up there and the FSU game is looking more and more like a trap!!! Remember how bad they sucked in 2006 and we only won 28-21 I think….

No Mark you were right, injuries just kicked UGA’s azz this year. If UGA were healthy, they would have just as good a shot as anyone in a 8 team tourney.
Orlando sorry man UGA dosent need some guy whos all legs and a sloppy arm, a poor leader, and a IQ of around 80. Just look at Jasuckis Russel, Vince Young, Troy Smith, Both Vicks……..ALL were exposed in the pros.

Mr. Bradley. Your article is very interesting to all of us Gators, and it totally reflects your biased amateurism and it reflects poorly on the AJC which is a superb newspaper. I fail to understand your term about how obnoxious the Gator FANS are today when you were not even at the game. If you had been there, you would have seen numerous obnoxious UGA Fans unless you wear rose colored glasses. I believe you are a UK Grad which definately taints your professionalism - nothing against UK. Why don’t you quit pounding on coach Meyer? Where is your substance. If Meyer were the coach at UK or UGA, you would love him. Taking the time outs was within the rules; however, Coach Richt’s stupid dance last year was not within the rules. Everyone knew there would be some sort of payback. Big deal! UGA has a very good team , but they got beat by a better and more focused Gator Team on Saturday. Additionally, all of Coach Richt’s talk about UGA having a young team is nonsense. Look at the youth the Gators play with these days. There is not a senior on the starting defense. The Gator offensive line starts 3 sophomores. The one good thing that came out of the game is that a lot of UGA Fans who are very good folks can now quit barking and get on with their lives. Have a nice day! GO GATORS!

You Dawg fans are a joke- calling out the officials and blaming injuries. Give me a break. And to have the nerve to call out Florida for having no class. What about last year’s “classy” celebration with 70 players?? You guys should just bend over and assume the position.. And then take it like a man. There is always next year- maybe you can secure another #1 PRESEASON RANKING. OVERRATED, OVERRATED, OVERRATED. Tell me again how it was closer than the score indicated? Pathetic.

Random thoughts;
Florida beating UGA does not make them the best team in the land. The AJC is in Atlanta NOT Athens, so cover ALL the teams in the State, not just UGA. Get to know your bulldogs should be in the Athens paper. Not much Woof, Woof,Woof in the sports bars this weekend, made for a nice atmosphere. The best athletes in the state go to the dogs when they choose to play football for uga. The power shift is underway; Tech will get better each year while UGA stays the same.

Receiving four turnovers, an onside kick, and having easy and short drives does not tell how good UF is. Are they that good if they had to start on an 80 yard drive every possession?

I just want to say Congrats to the Gator nation……i am a bulldawg fan and we got beat….there were a few questionable calls (the interception that was returned to the 1) but i dont even think the calls that were blown would have helped us!! So all i can say is congradulations and i hope an SEC team wins the National Championship!

Newsflash Teddy - UGA got beat by 39 points!!!
Complaining about ‘bad calls’ is being a WUSS CRYBABY. No excuses. UGA hasn’t done anything meaningful on the field in 28 years. An entire generation of UGA fans has seend their team get owned by the Gators.
Mark Bradley is one of them.

The Gators were by far the best team in Jacksonville, no doubt about it. Florida played with heart and desire and emotion while GA looked to be going through the motions. Unless there is a change in attitude with the players then Florida will keep beating GA every year. Dawgs have to move forward and not get trapped by Ky or Au. Tech will give GA fits. Winning two of the next three will be very difficult.
Congrats to Florida for a great game. The SEC Championship game should be outstanding and the winner should play for the big prize.

Bradley, you are a moron. You shot off all year about how the Dogs had stolen the momentum in this rivalry. Urban Meyer has punished you for your sins (and Mark Richt). Meyer will never let up on the Dogs as long as Richt is coach. Meyer grew up watching Woody Hayes and understands how to hold a grudge. Sorry Dogs, you are not a national championship type program.
