This blog has moved! Yes, already!

As of Thursday, Feb. 12, this little blog has relocated to a new home on AJC.com. It’s the same newspaper, the same Web site and the same writer (feel free to groan) — there’s just a new URL.

New features: Bigger type, more graphics, comments that load 10 times faster and a larger and more recent photo that makes me look pretty doggone old. I think you’ll like it (the blog, not the photo). But I am, as we know too well, often wrong.

Bradley’s Buzz: OK, I was wrong

A compendium of my own greatest misses

Because I’m a jolly good fellow and a great sport, I’ve changed the Buzz format a bit. Today I’m going to start by linking to myself — and all the times I was wrong about Georgia and/or Florida. If you’re a Gator backer, this will make for entertaining reading. If you’re a Georgia supporter, you won’t care one way or another because you’re still hiding under the mattress. Either way, here goes:

In May I predicted Georgia would win the national championship. In July I gave 10 reasons it would win the same national championship. A few days later I offered an 11th reason. (Getting to be a stuck record, wasn’t I?)

In September I rated Georgia the SEC’s best team. Earlier that month I’d said Georgia would be 5-0 and beyond worrying about style points. (Reality check: Alabama stacked 41 real points on the Bulldogs to drop them to 4-1.) After the LSU game I got really excited and again averred that Georgia was the class of the SEC and would beat Florida.

You’re aware that Georgia fell a mere 40 points shy of beating Florida over the weekend, and if you’re asking me was I surprised — well, what do you think? I wouldn’t have spent the previous six months proclaiming the Bulldogs’ worth if I believed they were going to lose the biggest game of the year 49-10.

Nor would I have called Matthew Stafford a better quarterback than Tim Tebow had I known Stafford was going to throw the ball to the Gators nearly as often as Tebow did. But I still would have tweaked Urban Meyer, who’s a fine coach but something of a pill.

And I won’t recant my belief that Florida fans are the SEC’s most obnoxious. The past 48 hours clinched that title in perpetuity. (Not that I’m bitter or anything.)

But enough of my writings and ramblings …

Here are some links to some writers who were actually in Jacksonville. (I wasn’t. I covered the Hawks’ home opener.) Matt Hayes of Sporting News Today leads with a taunt from Mrs. Urban Meyer. Esteemed former colleague Mark Schlabach of ESPN.com leads with Mr. Urban Meyer’s use of timeouts.

Writing for CBSsports.com, Dennis Dodd claims no team is playing better than Florida. If that sounds like a familiar Dodd theme, there’s a reason: He wrote essentially the same thing about Alabama after it beat Georgia. So there’s the formula: Beat the Bulldogs, impress Dennis Dodd.

Here, from the Gainesville Sun, is Pat Dooley writing about Florida’s defense, which Mr. Meyer branded “soft” after last season’s loss to Georgia. And Gene Frenette of the Florida Times-Union writes about Gator defensive coordinator Charlie Strong, who has made a career of thwarting Georgia.

Tech to Miami! Georgia to somewhere else!

In their weekly bowl projections for ESPN.com, Schlabach and Bruce Feldman both have Georgia Tech heading to the Orange Bowl as the ACC champ. Schlabach tickets Georgia for the Capital One Bowl, Feldman for the Cotton. And who, before the season began, would have figured Tech would be part of a BCS game and Georgia wouldn’t? (Not me. See above.)

Peter King on many Georgians

Tucked inside the dense verbiage of his Monday Morning Quarterback feature, Peter King of SI.com names Matt Ryan and John Abraham the offensive and defensive players of the week. He also quotes St. Louis safety Corey Chavous as calling Stafford “Jeff George with a team-first attitude.” And Peter, who sometimes writes as if he’s determined to fill up every last megabyte of cyberspace, also quotes, via NFL Films, Mike Smith’s slightly edited diatribe against the officials after the Adam Jennings non-muff in Philadelphia.

Disease of the week — J-Smoove

Tucked in the dense verbiage of his NBA preview, Bill Simmons of ESPN.com labels Josh Smith the league’s “biggest cancer.” Now it’s not like I’m never wrong about anything — see above — but has Bill Simmons ever met Josh Smith? Because I have, and what I see is a young man striding purposefully toward maturity.

FYI, here are the Cancer Man’s stats through two games: He’s averaging 17 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks, and he has made 54.5 percent of his shots. And his team, it must be noted, is 2-0.

Thx for bringing up the class of the SEC…which reminds me of the classless moves Knowsho put on this weekend..1) giving C. Strong a little tap on the rear after a 10+ yard gain in the first half 2) Running across the field after a gator kick off to run his mouth to a UF player who got peeled and lit up by a UGA blocker, nice move as you were not on the field for the play and you did not notice the scoreboard.

It wasn’t pretty, it wasn’t fun and it does hurt. I guess what we Dawgs want to dwell on is the “Urban Meyer is a pill motif.” Tebow is a once in a lifetime athlete in the Hershel Walker tradition. Also an outstanding human being. We have the misfortune of playing him when he’s surrounded by a supporting cast who can make it embarrassing for us. And embarrassed we are. Tebow is so unusual he may even come back next year. It’s a sad commentary on where we are to even have to talk about next year. But we’ll be back as well.

The only pill is the bitter one you have to swallow. You are a coward for skipping out on the game because deep down you knew what was coming. Have fun with the memory of this butt-kicking for the next year, because it’s going to be worse in 2009. Urban now knows why we hate Uga, and he will never overlook this game again.

Mark… You’re a class guy, who “tells it like it is” or, at least how you see it. I appreciate your candor about the result of the game and your predictions. I, too, thought the Dawgs would do well only to be let down. I saw from the start they did not match the intensity of the Gators and would be in trouble there, although I still believe they’re a much better team than they showed. I also agree about the fans who blog here (not just the Gator fans, but UGA’s), and the venom they spew when the players don’t play up to the their expectations. I wrote the following in Jeff’s post the other night, and I think it bares repeating, so here goes:

Florida is the best team in the country at this moment, and anyone who can’t see that doesn’t know football. The Dawgs got beat by an incredible team, with superior coaching and conditioning. I don’t care for the way they run up scores on everyone (not just UGA), but I have to tip my hat to their team. They will continue to impress - the football nation, pollster, talking heads, and me. There is not another team this season that will compete with them. The Gators will be champions again.

With that said, many of the so-called fans who blog here, who don’t play a down, and wouldn’t qualify to carry a jock strap, are some of the most vile, sick, rude people on the face of the earth. Do you think it’s easy preparing for these games, making mistakes and then listening to you’re warped views in these blogs? I’m not talking about me or other bloggers… it’s the players - who you know will read this. They don’t deserve your hate and ha-ha’s. They play for their schools, for pride, for each other… for your entertainment… and for TV contracts that make a fortune on “their” efforts (read ESPN). Yet, when they don’t go undefeated, or win convincingly enough to please you, you go ballistic in these blogs and tear them and their coaches down! What’s funny is these kids will go on to lead productive lives, and probably never darken these blogs where so many underachieving low-lifes and insecure babies love to reside.

I’m proud of the Dawgs… today, this year, last year, forever. They didn’t take the week off like a lot of folks did. These kids do the best they can -every day- to make us proud and, win or lose, I will always support them. Again, congratulations to the Gators! May you win it all and make the SEC Nation proud!

UGA finally played the complete game everybody has been predicting. When some level of the team is playing good or bad, the potential is for the whole team to play all bad or all good. They whiffed at all aspects of the game. They played closer to their potential as an undisciplined choke team against UF than the monster team used against LSU. Now the question is, do they have enough character to complete the season without another whiff game?

Mark, it’s good to see you hold yourself accountable, but you should have also linked to your preposterous statement from about 3 years ago that Georgia was the “standard bearer of the SEC”. Why? Well I guess because Mark Bradley loves Mark Richt and felt the need to publicly express it. Georgia was not then and is not now even the standard bearer of the southern third of the SEC East given that Florida has beaten them 16 of the last 19, including a number of absolute whippings such as the one on Saturday.

And with regard to obnoxious fans, as someone with no connection to either school I don’t think Florida fans are even remotely as obnoxious as Georgia fans. Florida fans tend to be cocky, but unlike Georgia fans their cockiness is based on actual accomplishments on the field in the last 15+ years rather than recruiting and preseason polls and ifs and buts and how we don’t get enough respect in the rankings. Ask Stewart Mandel of CNNSI who the most obnoxious fans in the country are - he declared Georgia fans the winner a few weeks ago based on the amount of email whining about the lack of respect they got in the polls, even after the beatdown from Alabama.

Mark,

A nice attempt at eating some humble pie after your overboard crowing for the past 365 days about the Dawg’s rattling Tebow last year (despite his obvious injury). I think Saturday’s game put that issue to rest.

I’m somewhat surprised that you didn’t use your typical Urban “Crier” or Urban “Liar” moniker when talking about our head coach. Don’t you think “Kicked” Richt would be more appropriate? After all, he is now 2-6 against the Gators, with one win happening 4 days after Zook was fired and the other one when Tebow was so rattled by your defense last year. Yep, the tide has sure changed in the series. I’m sure your next article will be on moving the game to Athens and Gainesville since the Gators have such a great home field advantage in Jax. Seems like the distance from Athens to Jax is about the same now as it was when Vince Dooley was Dawg #1. But I guess the Georgia state line really begins at Fulton County.

And please keep up the discussion on how high a draft pick Stafford’s going to be! That obviously has a lot of bearing on who wins the GA-FL game. But when Stafford’s gone next year, I’m sure the Dawgs will get along very well with Joe Cox at the helm. Oh, and by the way, since you and about 95% of the Dawgs’ faithful were not in attendance during the 4th quarter, Joe directed masterful touchdown drive against the Gator bench defense. But in the spirit of the game, and to recognize UGA’s immense effort for three and a half quarters, the Gator Nation was there in full force to provide a standing ovation!

When does girls’ gymnastics season begin?

Mark — As long as you’ve decided to stage a rare and fleeting moment of self-awareness, please recognize that you are not a sports analyst. You are a booster writer pandering to UGA fans.

That’s the only reason for you to have made the kind of drooling declarations you published at end of last season and in the pre-season about the Dawgs’ 2008 prospects. Columnist Pat Dooley, whose Gainesville readership is in a college town (vs. a huge metro area with partisans from many different fan bases) has every reason to be a UF partisan but is actually analytical and realistic about the Gators’ prospects each season. Somehow you turned a 2007 UGA season that included losses to inferior programs at USC and Tenn, plus a big win over HAWAII (!) and no appearance in the conference championship game or even an East title, into national championship pretensions for 2008. Did you ever consider that Richt’s team and their pair of of NFL superstars have never demonstrated they were reliable winners? Instead, you concocted a storyline of undeserved strength and meaning from the UF blip game plus “finishing strong” against a bunch of mediocre opponents. Until UGA and Richt can consistently beat UF, win an SEC title or even the East again without backing into the SECCG, you might want to lay off the pre-season No. 1 hype and consider the factual basis for your analysis. Or, you could just remain a booster writer and we’ll look elsewhere for college football analysis. I can read UGA fan fluff and Mark Richt-slanted views of the world in their school’s press guide.

Mark - I think it’s appropriate to put your idiotic comments here:

“Because when Georgia plays the way it did here [at LSU], Georgia is — pause for effect — the class of the SEC….If you can do this to LSU in frothing Tiger Stadium, you need have no fear of Florida or anything reptilian.”

“Urban Meyer, you have been warned.”

“Tim Tebow is a great player. Tim Tebow is the Heisman holder. Come Saturday, Tim Tebow will be the second-best quarterback on the field.”

“So which team has better playmakers? I say Georgia.”

“Urban Crier”

“I believe Georgia is better and will win again, but I am, as you know, often wrong.

That’s the only thing you were right about!

Yes, Bull Gator, I thought the applause by the Gators to be a fine display of sportsmanship. And you have to give it to the Dawgs. They kept battling even though the Gators kept throwing 2nd, 3rd, then 4th stringers at them. Mighty fine effort for ‘em to finally get one across.

UGA under Richt will win an awful lot of games but never the big one. He is a great man but not a great coach when compared to the Urban Meyer’s of the football world. We’re 2nd best in the SEC and that’s what we will always be. If that’s OK then you will be a happy Dawg.

From your hack job on Urban Meyer this past summer:

“Perhaps what most rankles Urban Meyer is the realization that, with one imperfectly scripted tactical swoop, Richt changed the dynamics of a series. Perhaps Urban Meyer grasps that the Bulldogs are no longer apt to roll over and be dominated.”

Next, Mark, you can admit you were wrong about your support of Don Waddell—as the sole architect of the pitiful mess known as the Thrashers as we embark on another “Five-Year Plan” and “building through the draft” (Waddell’s past bluster).

Stop defending the indefensible, Mark—like you did with Pete Babcock. Otherwise, you’re nothing but a sell-out.

THe difference between winning and losing this game is that UGA plays with no fire and heart! When things go bad, they lost intensity and lost the game.

For all of you who are sure Stafford will be a great pro, I am not so sure I agree. To me, he has great talent but makes bad decisions. He also has the look that it does not bother him to lose. I question his overall leadership.

Here are a few of the quotes from last week:

“Gators speed wont matter,we are in their heads”

“Gators defense has not been tested”

“Ga has a better QB”

“Timmy and Urban cryers”

“Florida will play in the toilet bowl”

“Gators cannot stop UGA’s offense”

“Ga will stomp a mudhole in Tebow’s A$$”

“Florida will be introduced to REAL smashmouth football”

“Ga will run all over Florida”

“Florida isn’t as tough as Georgia and doesn’t go deep successfully”

“Gimmicky spread offense”

Well, now all you Dawg fans can complain about the refs and cry wait until next year! Go back to your standard references about mullets and jorts!

DON’T DESPAIR UGA, THERE IS ALWAYS THE CITRUS BOWL…

Bill Simmons of ESPN hates Josh Smith because Smoove played a huge part in the Hawks nearly sending his precious Boston Celtics on an early vacation from the 1st round of the playoffs.

Bill Simmons is the total @ss-clown package who spends 99% of his time writing columns about the Boston area sports teams and all of his uninteresting memories of those same Boston teams.

Simmons, who writes for what is allegedly an impartial sports publication (ESPN), is the definition of a homer and has less class in his entire person than Josh Smith has in his little finger.

I don’t understand how Bill Simmons has managed to stay employed as a sports columnist with the incredibly inane and self-serving garbage that he produces.

I was at a Georgia game in the early 90’s when Georgia fans threw ice and bottles at the Georgia football team as they left the field. I have never seen that before anywhere. Tebow 51TDs passing, 50 rushing. 66% completions 9 INTs

Stafford 38TDs passing, 10 rushing. 55% completions 31 INTs

Tebow is GREAT college player. Stafford has a great arm who may be a great pro. In college, there is NO comparison. Hope Matt will come back to fulfill his promise, but so far it is only promise.

Georgia fans will be contempt with 8 or 9 wins maybe even 10 wins a season. The fact of the matter is that Florida doesn’t have better ytalent than Georgia, they have better coaches! They scheme better, the game plan better and their players are motivated more than Georgia’s. With 9 defensive returners coming back for Georgia this year, i thought the defense would be the stregnth of the team, well they are the weakest. In my opinion, thats coaching. Not getting better over the summer, but regressing. The penalty situation is clearly hurting the bulldogs. Maybe that celebration at last years cocktail party has affected the dogs. Do you believe that if another coach was head coach of the dogs they would compete for championships, national championship. I love dawgs, I always will but the reality of all of this is that we will never win a national championship under this current coaching staff. We need a get in your face coach. Point Blank!!!

First, great post G8TR! You have more or less covered most of the important talking points with regard to Bradley and his catering to the ‘Hunker Down’ nation.

How is that crow tasting this morning Mark? With all your preseason proclamations of UGA superiority and forthcoming dominance of the GA/FL rivalry, I think you should perhaps pen another article that illustrates how wrong you were all along. If memory serves me correctly, I blasted you last week for the obvious favoritism you show for the Dawgs and how you declared them the winners of the Cocktail Party the day following the victory over mighty LSU. I seem to remember the last thing I said to you was something to the effect of how I can’t wait to hear what you have to say on Monday. And this is all you have to say? You’re not getting off the hook that easily my journalistically inept friend!! We Gators have reasserted our dominance over this rivalry and that was with a team that is roughly 70 percent freshmen or sophomores. That’s right GA fans, we have 85 scholarships, of which 60 are not even juniors yet. Speaking of GA fans, there are two things I wish to vent about. First, you guys are the most fickle bunch I’ve ever witnessed. You guys spent most of your lunch breaks last week overconfidently gushing about how superior GA is to FL and how the tide in the series turned on your bum rush of the field and subsequent win last season. Yet, I seem to remember after the Vandy game this year that according to you all that Mike Bobo is not ready to be an SEC OC, Willie Martinez must be replaced, Mark Richt doesn’t properly prepare his players during the week for games, etc. And now I’m reading a few blogs this morning from UGA fans that have reverted back to the complaints about coaching and preparation (and is inevitably followed by some offering of hypothetical strategy that should’ve been applied by the coaches). Am I severely mistaken here, or has Richt won 3 SEC titles and was one win shy of earning a berth in the BCS title game in 2002 (the one loss came to FL, but that’s neither here nor there). If you all truly feel this way, then I’ve got to say that you all are the most ungrateful bunch in the history of college or football. Any school who has a coach with Richt’s winning percentage, conference titles, BCS bowl appearances, and the like would be more than happy to sign off on a contract extension. What’s more, he is a class guy (and yes, I say this even in the face of the off-season arrests) and runs a clean program. Yet, I read some of the drivel on here and I sense an overwhelming sentiment of entitlement from a group of spoiled brats who seem to think that winning a national championship is easy. News flash: It’s not easy!! Richt will win a national championship as a head coach somewhere, but I can’t think of a more undeserving fan base than you all. Which brings me to the second point I wanted to make, when GA scored their first and only touchdown late in the fourth, there were no GA fans there to cheer and support their team. So, what happened? All the Gator fans still in attendance stood, clapped, and cheered on their behalf. You all should be ashamed. Hey Bradley, add that to your obnoxious fan discussion.

*Series Record:

Georgia 47 Wins Florida 39 Wins

You’re still in second place in this series little Gators.

Enough said.*

Lol! They were still putting out the fires from Sherman’s march when that record was started. How many 100 year-olds are around to brag about their participation in the first decade of Georgia dominance? LOL!

Speaking of Sherman, why do those Georgia morons use the “Battle Hymn of the Republic” as their fight song? Sherman stomps on Georgia and their “flagship” University bends over, grabs their ankles, and adopts the Hymn as their fight song?

Hell, I guess if getting stomped, marched over, and burnt to the ground is the prerequisite to choosing a fight song, you guys should start using Florida’s fight song next year.

As I said before the season, among all the hype from UGA fans, you dont know who won the game until the game is played, and from all I see the Gators definately won the game. You guys have 3 more games to play and you may win them all, but we won’t know until the games are played. Agree?

Here’s what UGA needs to understand: their pro-style of offense does NOT win championships in college!

It wouldn’t matter how great their defense is supposed to be if your offense isn’t efficient enough to win.

Spread offenses and 4 and 5 Wide Receiver sets wins titles. You cannot win in today’s college football with only a running game, something Richt needs to understand.

Schemes and systems win titles in college, that’s why you will always see teams like Florida and USC in the running for a championship.

Don’t believe me? Just look at how the Big 10 tries to run these conventional offenses only to get destroyed when playing a team that can put more than 2 WRs on the field, like in the SEC.

Richt needs to go back to what won a title at Florida State, which is to recruit a scrambling QB and develop a pass-first offense mixed in with their running attack.

I think Stafford could do it, but they need to spread the field more and pass first, second and often, that has always been Georgia’s greatest problem.

Until they change their style of offense, FLA will continue to own UGA.

I know it is hard for you guys to believe, but I really do not mind a 40 point loss. The reason why is that I can find comfort in the fact that the best team won. It wasn’t us and we got the L. OK, I can live with that.

What is much harder to accept is a 1 or 2 point loss to a team that we shoulda, coulda, and woulda beat if one play had been different. Those are the losses that reek, and I am glad we have not had many.

The last I remember is the Jasper Sanks fumble. That loss was tougher than the Florida game. So as long as the Dogs play tough and beat the teams that they are capable of beating, then I am OK with the rest.

I would be delighted with a 10-2 season and a bowl win. Most fans and most schools would too.

So go Dogs! Beat Kentucky, Auburn and Tech.

Mr. Bradley. Your article is very interesting to all of us Gators, and it totally reflects your biased amateurism and it reflects poorly on the AJC which is a superb newspaper. I fail to understand your term about how obnoxious the Gator FANS are today when you were not even at the game. If you had been there, you would have seen numerous obnoxious UGA Fans unless you wear rose colored glasses. I believe you are a UK Grad which definately taints your professionalism - nothing against UK. Why don’t you quit pounding on coach Meyer? Where is your substance. If Meyer were the coach at UK or UGA, you would love him. Taking the time outs was within the rules; however, Coach Richt’s stupid dance last year was not within the rules. Everyone knew there would be some sort of payback. Big deal! UGA has a very good team , but they got beat by a better and more focused Gator Team on Saturday. Additionally, all of Coach Richt’s talk about UGA having a young team is nonsense. Look at the youth the Gators play with these days. There is not a senior on the starting defense. The Gator offensive line starts 3 sophomores. The one good thing that came out of the game is that a lot of UGA Fans who are very good folks can now quit barking and get on with their lives. Have a nice day! GO GATORS!

There is always next year- maybe you can secure another #1 PRESEASON RANKING. OVERRATED, OVERRATED, OVERRATED. Tell me again how it was closer than the score indicated? Pathetic.

Random thoughts;

Florida beating UGA does not make them the best team in the land. The AJC is in Atlanta NOT Athens, so cover ALL the teams in the State, not just UGA. Get to know your bulldogs should be in the Athens paper. Not much Woof, Woof,Woof in the sports bars this weekend, made for a nice atmosphere. The best athletes in the state go to the dogs when they choose to play football for uga. The power shift is underway; Tech will get better each year while UGA stays the same.

The Gators were by far the best team in Jacksonville, no doubt about it. Florida played with heart and desire and emotion while GA looked to be going through the motions. Unless there is a change in attitude with the players then Florida will keep beating GA every year. Dawgs have to move forward and not get trapped by Ky or Au. Tech will give GA fits. Winning two of the next three will be very difficult.

Congrats to Florida for a great game. The SEC Championship game should be outstanding and the winner should play for the big prize.

Firstly, I wish these UGA apologists would knock it off with the ‘Oh if we’d played like we did against LSU’ crap. LSU is a joke this year. They allowed Auburn and Miss St to amass offensive numbers…2 teams that don’t have the talent to cross midfield. Its what happens when you donate most of your team to the NFL. They’ll be back, but they are NOT the National Champions of yore. As to this weeks comic strip in Jacksonville, at what point do you begin to raise questions about your precious CMR’s ability to adequately prepare this team for major competition? What legitimate games has this team won in the past 2 seasons? Florida last year? Tebow was in a wheelchair. Oh, wait…Hawaii right? Come on. For a team projected to be in the national title hunt, you let Alabama embarrass you at home and then this. This team is becoming notorious for folding against ‘legit’ competition. Oh but I’m sure you will regain all the swagger in the world and start your barking again when they come up victorious against the division 2 champ in your consolation bowl game.

Everything broke right for us in Jax, and we took advantage of every break.

But the notion that we ran up the score is somewhat ridiculous. The reigning Heisman winner threw 13 passes for a total of 154 yards in 3 1/2 quarters of football.

Stafford and Moreno both played with that “deer in the headlights” look. Moreno after Spikes lit him up early in the game, and Stafford after taking that shot to his knee in the first quarter. The coaches also coached scared. An onside kick down 7-3 in the second quarter says that you do not believe you can beat the other team without tricks. What are we recruiting all this supposed talent for? I am totally disgusted. With Tebow and Forida’s entire starting defense back next year, we don’t have a lot to look forward to.

At least now we know for sure who the better QB is AND who the better coach is!.

I want to apologize for being a Georgia native and a past UGA Hater. I intially hated UGA for the maltreament my mother endured by some professors & students shortly after UGA desegregated and even though I grew up loving Herschel, Belue, K. Butler, L. Scott & Hines Ward I found myself hating UGA Football over the last 10 years I have found great pleasure in UGA Football losses. This summer, while visiting UGA, I realized that I was proud of the University and its programs and most of the students that I came across were very friendly. I saw that the Facilities were some of the best in the Country and I have been around several Universities. I finally realized that I didn’t hate UGA, I hate the majority of UGA Football Fans that aren’t realistic when it comes to believing how good your football team is & how good your coaches are.

Dawgs fans are rather obnoxious and have no recent National Titles to stand behind (I was 8 the last time they won). I don’t like Florida but at least they can hang their hats on National Championships (I believe one, two years ago & one or two in the 90s — Throw in a couple in Basketball and that’s something to brag about). I told my friends that UGA would lose at least three games this year and they basically cast stones at me. I said that they would lose to Bama, LSU, UF and maybe GA Tech. I was wrong about LSU but I still think that Tech will make me 3 out of 4. UGA is a beast when it comes to recruiting, albeit questionable character, but there must be a coaching issue if this melting pot of talent (year after year) can’t be blended into a “REAL” winning combination.

UGA Football Fans act like 34 is still on the field but they fail to see that there is not a winning attitude in the locker room. The players are good/great but they have always played as individuals. The press ordains every QB since Quincy Carter as the greatest QB in the Nation but none of the Coaches seem to coach them up to reach their full potentials. Where is David Greene now? Stafford has all the tools but he seems destined to be Mediocre. In this past weekend’s game, you would be hard pressed to find any GA player that outperformed his Gator positional counterpart. Moreno’s good but folks act like he’s the best RB since #34. Hell, that New Jersey boy always folds up in the big ones. Anyway, let me get back to some work.

By A Mad Dawg

The AD needs to sit Richt down and tell him somebody is going to be fired over this and ask him who is it going to be. Start with someone on the defense or offense, but he should say that he wants somebody to pay the price for this embarassment.

And “Bill” and “George” are right and mirror my thoughts. UGA will always win the little games but will never win the BIG ONES. We don’t have what it takes in the coach’s philosophy. Mean-a** coaches win the BIG ONES. Nice Boy Scout leaders do not and never will. CMR is a heck of a nice guy and I would want him teaching my 10-year old children….but this is Division 1-A college football with mostly-grown up adults. Other coaches lay down the expectation and fear in their players. We don’t have that. I get that feeling from watching our players on the sidelines as well as in the games. The commentator said that because Moreno got 188 yards last year that he made the Florida players do 188 push-ups every day in practice. We do bowling and swimming.

When it is beyond the capability of the head coach to get penalities under control, it speaks volumes.

We need a coach with some fire and brimstone and a desire to win that is visible to those around him. Not a “Aw shucks” attitude.

Sooner or later, the Dawg Nation will see to it.

You weren’t just wrong. You looked like a fool. UF and Urban Meyer took your prediction and figuratively beat you about the head and torso with it for about 60 minutes. Good thing for you the AJC does not think you are a significant enough part of the team to waste money sending you to Jacksonville. Otherwise, the figurative beating would have been that much closer to being a literal one.

I am a DAWG Fan, but I must say that this game has left a bad taste in my mouth. They were some missed calls by the ref but it did not out weigh the fact that the Dawgs just didn’t play well.

The secondary stunk as always, the offense couldn’t get things going, and they seem as if they didn’t want to play football.

Now all of their hopes for a BCS bid are gone down the drain, and if I was Coach Richt, I would take this personally.

Terrance Moore once wrote, all the Dawgs has to do is win. The rankings will take care of itself or something to that measure.

Well they just couldn’t get it done. I am pretty angry at the Dawgs right now because this is the absolute worst that I have seem them play this season.

In fact, they were so bad that a 17 year kick off returner was going to take matter into his own hands and attempt to bring the ball out of the end zone in a attempt to gain some ground against the Florida Gators, but was stopped short of a team player grabbing him, and telling him to take a knee.

Damn it. Where is the heart of the Dawgs. Coach really need to do something with the secondary. They suck. They either put up a lot of penalties or they get burned on the pass.

I could only hope that they finish the season winning out the remaining of their games. But as sorry as they played on this past Saturday, who knows.

I didn’t see much obnoxious behavior from either school’s fans on Saturday, but there are multiple ways of measuring fans’ obnoxiousness. Here’s one: I know a lady who helps clean up the parking lots around the stadium, which looked like a garbage dump after the game. She says “it’s 4 times worse” when the Dawgs win.

Some of you bloggers are idiots as it pretains to the things you write on here. As far as the Bulldogs are concerned, I was hoping to see them get a shot at the sec and national championships, but all is lost now, but I am the first to say that if Knoshown and Stafford return, next year is the year that they should compete for a championship. Being honest about this entire situation, I am not sure they can win with this coaching staff. A new defensive coordinator is in order. I look at the type of athletes that Georgia has on defense and especially with 9 returning starters and there is no way they should be as bad as they are. Willie is not a good defensive coach, he never has been. He is more of a position coach. If CMR ever espects to win a national championship, he better cough up some good money to lure a proven defensive coach to athens or he will never win the big win. Winning the big one requires b eating florida and we seem to struggle with that every year.

Poor job of pleading humble pie. When the whole Georgia Team spilled on the field last year, that was, or at least, as arrogant as anything a Gator fan has done. Richt and Ga Football Team made a mockery of decency ( the Florida team remained in control, do you think the Ga team would have stayed calm if the roles had been reversed? Yeah, didn’t think so.) I know you are to be biased toward your state’s No.2 football team, but you really need to research the talent on the teams, and how they have played thus far in the season. Just wishful thinking isn’t a proper assessment. I think Richt is very arrogant to assume other coaches can’t recruit, teach and motivate as well as he can. Had he really felt others coaches were his equal, he would not have provided additional incentive for his opponents, by allowing end zone dancing in Fla last year, and again this year in the LSU end zone. By, the top dog himself, Knowshon Moreno. And not one apologetic word was issued from Georgia’s coaches about Moreno’s taunting and showboating. Guess who got stuck on Georgia’s first offensive play from the line of scrimmage, by a Gator middle line backer. Maybe the Florida players should have poured on the field as a team and danced and high-fived. Just so Moreno and the Georgia team could see how “out of place” such behavior is.

Richt’s 79% winning rate and two SEC championships speak for themselves, but Georgia doesn’t seem to be a well-coached team right now, especially on defense. Too many players out of position and way too many dumb, drive-sustaining, turnover-erasing penalties (against Ala. and UF).

I watched the Texas Tech - Texas game Saturday night, and was struck how well-coached and in sync TTU looked. They played a team in Texas that had Florida and Georgia level talent, and dominated most of the game with mostly two and three star athletes and just a handful of blue-chippers.

I think Georgia is missing a motivator on its staff. Richt has done the best he could with the celebration and the black shirts, but those are only temporary fixes. Georgia needs someone like Erk Russell, Brian Van Gorder (a version who will stick around for a while), or Will Muschamp to instill some spirit or craziness in the team from week-to-week. Richt plays the Vince Dooley role of a cool, detached CEO, and does it well, but he needed Erk to provide the excitement and motivation. Georgia desperately needs a master motivator on staff, preferably as defensive coordinator. Someone who can play Patton to Richt’s Ike.

Florida whipped us….and it was the worst one ever. I tip my hat to them, they played like they wanted to win the game. What they did is no mystery, you can read what Urban Meyer said about the game. Florida decided on Tuesday that they were not going to let Moreno and the ground game beat them this year. So they put 8 guys in the box the whole game, and dared us to beat them throwing the ball. Long story short, we couldn’t do that. Florida stopped our running game when it counted, then they clamped down on Stafford and the passing game. We hit some big pass plays, but we couldn’t hit them when it counted the most - in the red zone. Then we had the picks and fumble, and I think Florida STARTED thre of their scoring drives inside our 10 yard line. That is not winning football as far as GA is concerned. We were outcoached, outplayed, outmanned, and now it’s 16 out of 19 - we can’t even beat FLA 16-17% of the time. I am not optimistic about the future of this series either. FLA is either staying even or beating us in recruiting year in and year out.

You know UGA fans, I’m reading a lot of fluff on here about Urban Meyer, Tim Tebow, Gator Nation have no class. I find this immensely amusing considering a) The display of classlessness the Dawgs showed in last year’s GA/FL game and b) The 20+ arrests of GA players in the last 18 or so months.

However, I want to tell you guys a story about class. This story involves a guy whose name you may have heard; Steve Spurrier. This story takes place in the hostile and exotic land of Fayetteville, Arkansas, some twelve years ago. It is late in the game and Danny Wuerffel has delivered a stellar performance, which has put the Gators up big. The hapless Hawgs offense has the ball with just under five minutes remaining in the game when one of UF’s assistant coaches walks over to the ‘Ol Ball Coach on the sideline, whispers something in his ear, and walks away. A moment later, Arkansas punts the ball back to Florida, but instead of sending in back-up QB Doug Johnson, Spurrier elects to send Wuerffel back in for one play. In that one play, Wuerffel dumped a screen pass over the middle to reserve TB Eugene McCaslin who then made some moves and gained 20 yards to the Arkansas 10-yard-line. Spurrier then pulls Wuerffel out of the game and sends in Johnson who threw a TD pass the next play.

As it turns out, Wuerffel was eight yards shy of the UF single game passing yardage record and Spurrier wanted to see his QB break it, which explains why Wuerffel was put in for just one play on that final drive. The game ended and the teams were clearing the field. Almost the entire Florida team was off the field when Spurrier made his way to the tunnel that led to the locker room, when an Arkansas fan in the stands next to said tunnel had this to say to Spurrier; ‘You have no class, Spurrier!!’ Spurrier was never known as a crowd pleaser and rarely acknowledged cheers and jeers alike, but this time around Spurrier shocked this Hawgs fan with what I believe is the best Spurrier-ism ever (ready for this Gator fans?). With a grin on his face, Steve Spurrier looked up and met the gaze of the fan and said ‘You know, we love it when you accuse us of that.’ End ‘o story.

The point is this UGA fans; accuse Urban ‘Crier’ (how cute), Tim ‘Te-blow’ (even cuter), and the rest of the jort wearing Gator Nation (really, is that the best you guys can do?) of classlessness to your collective hearts’ content… because, as Spurrier himself pointed out, as long as you guys accuse us such things, that means that we are kicking your a*!!!

Some thoughts from a Dawg fan who was at the game. The Gators were better and deserved the win. Congratulations to all the Gator fans. The referees didn’t cost us that game, we just lost. CMR better be sick, the whole Dawg nation was. Changes have to be made, and I think they will. It is funny hearing people talk about the obnoxious fans. Before the game I saw both Georgia and Florida fans working hard to be obnoxious, and now they are not appreciated. Don’t take the game from Jacksonville! I enjoyed the obnoxious Gator fans all weekend. And, a scientific report - you may can drink an ugly women pretty, but if, you were a Dawg fan, you couldn’t drink that game pretty. I know, I tried.

Mark - You were fooled just like the rest of us. The one factor that you never know about is what kind of heart & drive a team will have. It is obvious that Georgia has neither. When you combine the lack of these two factors with a coaching staff that does not teach the fundamentals, has very little imagination & lacks the will to enforce discipline, the results are what you currently see. Oh well, Georgia will get their 9 or 10 wins, play in bowl, Richt will get a raise, and come next August, everyone will be fooled into thinking that 2009 will be the greatest year ever!

Dark days ahead for the UGA faithful. Richt and Company will be owned by Meyer and Saban (at least) in the SEC. The UGA coaching staff does not measure up to the standards set at UF and UA. Not only will the UF domination of UGA continue, but UA will also dominate UGA into the future. Mark Richt is a great recruiter and a good quarterback coach; that’s about it. Significant coaching changes are required at UGA to prevent them becoming a perpetual “also ran” in the SEC. Coaching is the problem at UGA. As if we haven’t had enough evidence with the undisciplined play and horrendous play calling this year, just listen to the responses of the players to the 49-10 rout. Just unbelievable …

The only way we go to the Orange Bowl is if GOD ordains it to be, and maybe shows up at the QB position when Nesbit can’t play! We are going to be very GOOD when and IF Coach can recruit superior players. Yes, we have some very special players, but we are no where close to the talent level of a UGAY or Florida. If Coach can’t recruit then we will win 6 to 8 games a year and go to a mediocre bowl game…. Win or Lose I am at the stadium supporting this team! It would be nice for others to follow suit!

Everywhere I’ve been in the SEC, we can all agree which team/fans we hate the most: Florida.

Georgia’s biggest problem this year has been lack of discipline.

Penalties in sheer numbers, horrible penalties at key times, missing wide open guys in the endzone, dropping a handoff, having no pitch man on defense vs. the option, etc.

I’m still absolutely puzzled by the onside kick.

I wasn’t talking about developing pro prospects, I’m talking about what wins games IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL, NOT THE NFL! The style of offense UGA uses would win a lot of games in the NFL, but it doesn’t work in college, where you have to be able to spread the ball around ALL the time.

Think about it, why does Georgia always seem to come up short? It’s because teams like Alabama and Florida know that UGA is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too conservative on offense. Put Moreno out in the flat more often, use him the way the Saints use Reggie Bush, Knowshon would be a killer out there in the open field.

Stafford can scramble a bit, take advantage of that, or at the very least make the defenses think they’re going to mix it up. That’s why FLA is always a threat!

UGA’s defense will never be at the level it used to be, so it’s time to create a system that ensures UGA has a dominate offense.

After all, isn’t that what puts teams like USC in the championship game every year?

By G8TR

November 3, 2008 12:35 PM | Link to this

Mark: Thanks for the warning but I am not optimistic about your writing “a little something” for tomorrow. Your assessment of the 2007 Bulldog season was woefully over-inflated, given the reality of UGA losing to USC, UT and its defeat of a second-tier Hawaii in a Bowl game. Please be clear-eyed and take off the drool-covered glasses that ordinarily influence your Richtian-love columns. Face it. The guy won as an assistant at FSU via superior offensive talent in an inferior league (the ACC back in the ’90s). His head-coaching prowess has yet to be proven except for getting UGA back to about where it should’ve been before Goff and Donnan. Given the UGA trendline against UF, you may want to throttle back on whether the program can ever accomplish much more, realistically, with this guy at the helm.

Mark,

This wasn’t a homicide by Florida, this was a suicide by the Bulldogs. The Gators got 28 points gift wrapped to them in this game. Tim Tebow’s a great athlete, but it’s not like the guy threw for over 300 yards and ran for over 100. He had offensive drives that started at the 1, 6, 40, and 11 yard line. I mean wymoming would have beaten the Dawgs with that kind of performance. It’s like in 2006 when the Dawgs killed Auburn 37-15. The Dawgs played well, but they got 24 points off of Brandon Cox’s 4 INT’s. “Victory favors the team that makes the fewest mistakes”, and I not sure the dawgs will ever learn this. But what really bothers me is the lack of motivation on this team. What do they have to do to get ready to play? It’s Florida vs. Georgia! SEC East supremecy on the line! It’s a game were you have a rival that not only wants to beat you, but humiliate you for what you did to them last year. And this team can’t get fired up for that? It’s unbelievable! It absolutely blows my mind! I mean what in the hell are they playing for? Florida might be the better team, but at least make them earn it. And if you go down 28-3, at least be man enough and play for some pride. What happened to finishing the drill? This team is garbage! It wouldn’t shock me if they came out flat and lost to Kentucky this week. This team has zero heart. They deserve whatever they get.

I don’t have a problem with the dawgs winning a game against us every once in a while, but what they did last year will be in hearts of the Gators for a long time. Richt has an axe to grind with us, because of what happened in the FSU/UF past games, and I guess he felt that what he had his team do last year was a good idea. However, there’s an old saying that you reap what you sow. Hopefully, next year our two teams will get together and have a good back yard brawl, without all of the crazy stuff.

Bradley you and the rest of the georgia fans, players and coaches are pathetic. Last year you were whining about not being considered for the BCS champ game - why were you deserving - couldn’t win the East, routed by tenn, lost to usc(e) and spurrier once again, maybe it was beating vandy on a last second fg or beating the Gators last year when Tebow was really injured and a defense was so young they weren’t even shaving or maybe it was the great sugar bowl win over hawaii. Any way that awesome season last year was the basis for your #1 ranking in 2008 - give me a break. Obviously bama and now the Gators have proven how ridiculous that was. Just admit you aren’t all that but no - we beat bama in the 2nd half, the refs cost us the game against the Gators, the game was closer than the score indicates, we are better than them but beat ourselves. That kind of talk is just so pathetic and delusional - that is a big reason why you all are so despised. Instead of relying on gimmicks like celebration penalties, jersey colors, and onside kicks - man up and play some football and quit thumping your chest when there isn’t anything to back it up. Look for next year - it might even be worse.

I hate the fact that we got emabarassed, again, on national TV. We took a huge step backwards on Saturday. We are the 3rd best team in the SEC and that does not say much because Bama and FL has distanced themselves from the group. Pounding Tech won’t save this year. It will be like playing Hawaii in the Bowl game. You are expected to win, if you win big deal, but if you loose it’s shame on you.

  • The only reason Tebow doesn’t go pro next year is that he doesn’t get a high enough draft projection. 99% he is gone. As much as he loves college FB, he is going pro as that gives him a better shot to change the world. Serious. Brantley is in training. I couldn’t be happier for Tebow and hope he goes #1 and gets huge payday.
  • As for running up scores, this is college FB where kids can score in 11 seconds (Run Lindsay, run). So you either get criticized for running up the score, or not going for the juggler. 3.I truly wish Meyer had not used the TOs. It was minor, but both Richt and Meyer are better than these stunts. They are coaches of young men first. 4.Get rid of Richt; are you crazy!!! While I agree he is not tops in the SEC, but he is a very good coach. Georgia could do much worse. Then again, if winning is all that matters, have at it and see what you get. You may end up with a NC, put more likely you will end up with a program in shambles.
  • Not sure who the worst fans are, but I have been incredibly impressed by the hospitality of both SC and Ole Miss fans the last few years.
  • Bradley column pro-Dawgs; no way. He writes for AJC people, not the Gainesville Sun.
  • I love college FB and hate it when my team loses, but if you find yourself wanting your team to win so bad that you hope for the other sides star to get injured, you need to reevaluate. I’ve seen it from parents at 8 yr old soccer games, and it is very disturbing.
  • Dawgs got beat bad by a better team hitting on all cylinders. It happens. You still have a very good team with a great RB and a very good QB and an incredible Frosh WR. It will end up a very good season.

I forgot, did the Dawgs wear the black jerseys on Saturday? If they didn’t, it would have been an appropriate game to wear them, because that was a funeral. Stop blaming the refs because they can’t account fot the majority of those 49 points. I hope that brings you Dawg fans down a few notches and back to reality.

Add a link to the pre-season poll asking if the Bulldogs would have more wins than GT and the Falcons combined.

That one has been decided only 10 weeks into the football season and the answer is NO.

If the Jackets and Falcons don’t win another game this year, UGA can only match them (and that’s if they miraculously get to play in the SECCG).

In times like these I think it important to face reality. We didn’t lose because they have better players. We didn’t lose because they have better coaching. We lost because our players didn’t make plays and the other team’s players did. 3 red zone opp. in the first half and 3 points is terrible. And don’t blame Bobo, Chandler was open by a mile which would have made it 10-14. Then Walsh smacks the FG against the upright. That about sizes up the day for us.

One day we will have an experienced OL, a non-freshman kicker and a consistent QB all at the same time. Until then I suppose we can live with double digit win seasons which is still very likely.

No need to re-hash all of this. We all know what happened on Saturday, but let’s step back and look at the big picture. College football is a business, a BIG BUSINESS $$$. When you hire a CEO and are promised great things from him after his hire, how long do you wait for the expected results. In today’s world of “what have you done for me now lately” I am surprised that Richt has not had more demanded of him. You have to ask yourself, if UGA was a private company, would Richt have made it this long as CEO? Doubtful. Yeah, UGA fans hate Spurrier, but he delivered on his promises. When he left after the 1991 season, UF was forced into a desperate situation and made a very poor coaching choice. UF tried to be supportive of Zook, but after three years enough was enough. Enter Meyer and, like Spurrier, he delivered on his promises. When the big money boosters separate their love for a nice guy and his coaching friends on his staff from the reality of what it is going to take to get UGA to that top tier program as promised so many times, that is when it becomes apparent that UGA is committed to becoming what it professes it wants to be. It is not personal, just business.

I have been trying to tell you so for 6 months Bradely. By the end of the season the pups will be by far and away the worst # 1 preseason team of all time. After the bowl they will have 3 prob 4 losses and should be outside of the top 25. I mean honestly who have the pups beaten????? LSU??????? After they get beat this weekend they will not be ranked so that means the dawgs will not have beaten ANY ranked teams and have gotten blown out of the freaking stadium by the only two decent teams they have played. Preseason # 1 HA HA HA HA HA HA. And by the way to call UF the worst fans in the SEC is beyond comical. We all know that distinction belongs to the dawgs as well. I can not tell you how many people I have heard in the last 48 hours blame this game on the refs. Just freaking typical. Yea I guess the refs had 39 points worth of blown calls. Give me a f ing break. I will ask all you UGA fans out there to please think of the environment in your time of mourning and go shed your tears over lake lanier to help fill the lake back up.

The host on Rivals Radio put it best this morning when describing the FL-GA game on Saturday. “The big bully walked into GA’s house, whizzed on the carpet, patted the gfriend on the a*, drank all the beer in the fridge, relieved themselves on the drapes, and asked GA if they wanted to do anything about it. GA responded with a polite no, and Florida strolled out of the house with a nice smirk on their face”.

First off Fla is a better team that Georgia. Second Georgia never should have been rated that high. And third most Georga fans I know never thought that we would go undefeated. That was the media and some of the ignorant Georgia fans which all teams have and unfortunately many of whom post on here. The majority of us Georgia grads are more realistic. Lets note that Georgia had to go to Arizona St and then play Alabama, then had to go to LSU (Fla remembers that from a few years ago) and then go to Florida. We are young and have had an inordinate amount of injuries. So everyting was not exactly in our favor. (I didn’t even mention the refs). Now haveing said that, Fla is a great team with a great (but a jerk) coach and a great program. I am glad they are in the SEC and in our division as that gives us something to compete against. And we have improved, just not enough this year. As for the worst fans I think all schools have them. Most Georgia grads I know, and I know a bunch, never thought we would go undefeated or win the NC although we had some hopes and a shot, although not a good one with that schedule. I doubt even Florida would get through our schedule without two losses. They didn’t even get through theirs without one. The SEC is just too tough. As for TEbow he is a great college player and seems to be a class guy. Kind of like Danny Werfull. So enjoy it while he is there. You will be good after he is gone but not as good. As for Stafford he should stay in school another year and get more accurate on the long pass and his decision making. And if he does we could be very good next year. And no we won’t win them all even if he does.

Have you UGAG fans noticed, how businesslike Bama and FLA conducted themselves? No “special jerseys”, No “end zone celebration” (they’ve been there before—MANY times), No “hot-dog with extra spice” running back that takes HIMSELF out of a game against good competition—realizes it is a TEAM sport. Nope, Richt is a FAR cry from Saban, Meyer, or even Spurrier!

To all Gator fans….. There are good ones/bad ones and F* obnoxious ones that probably never went to ANY college but show up at home games including Jax! Believe me we all have em UGA/LSU everybody down south! I am a masters graduate from UGA a very fine COLLEGE. Over the last few years I have even made good friends with some Gators…. When Bama brought on Saban and payed him 4-5 million depending on how you look at it…. I was very sick THE SEC=NFL pretty much. Some UGA fans are very over reaching/obnoxious and think every year will be this year..yadayada. The intelligent ones like myself, know where our program stands SECOND TIER in the conference. In today’s world its OBVIOUS to me and anyone who is not stupid. MONEY, UF spends it on their prime time athletics and UGA chooses other things to spend it on besides football/basketball. Colleges first are about many other things before Athletics!!!!! I believe Richt makes 2.2 million annually and Urban makes 4.5, twice as much. UGA total pig skin budgett is 50+ mil. UF’s is approaching 85 I read last year. Ever heard of the Yankees? They outspend and win most of the time. Its sad but your school has started the dominance since it brought in SS at a record coaching contract back in that day and I remember he was making well more than twice what other SEC coaches made. I love my university dearly and we could go 0-10 and I still would want my child to attend there. Athens and our wonderfull university is so much nicer/sweeter than Gainesville for a lot of reasons, obviously football/basketball are not. The day Erk Russell stepped off the field in 1982? UGA has stuttered along in mediocrity because of coaching..coaching…coaching!!!! Richt was a hero around the state for awhile but I can tell you, alot of UGA fans woke up Sat. IF the President/Top Alum finally get a great coach, not likely anytime soon we would compete better with the ALL MIGHTY GATORS (bow to them and their rabid fan base)on the field. You guys are never that good just we are that bad. I am cheering for Bama even though I despise Saban because just about every one else in the conference (I know many other buds from Auburn/Bama/Ol Miss etc…) despises your cockiness and mysterious swagger when all you have is semi pro bought and paid for team that has one of the largest NCAA budgets in the land. Gators enjoy it while you got it, one day maybe far away UGA will finally get its gears going and find our new ERK (SS to you guys) and we will turn the tide and it will be ugaly for the Gators. Richt is turning out to be a joke and actually has regressed from his earlier years. Quit foaming at the mouth about our underfunded program with mediocre coaching and focus on what Urban/Team has to do moving forward.

PS Big 12 South will win NC!!! those teams would kill Gators on the field. You guys have never amazed me. Other things in life for great colleges besides football… enjoy your bought wins just like the Yankees do. Sad that college ball not any different than Pro. (Wait in NFL salary cap/$$sharing makes it more exciting!!!) I mean pro baseball.

    All Gator fans:

Congratulations on a great win. Unfortunately, your coach can no longer claim to have the high ground when it comes to this contest. When you call two timeouts in the last minute of a game when you are up by a large margin, you are showing your true colors. It’s fine to do so, but he has now forfeited the right to ever say anything about the celebration the year before. Rather than let the contoversy die down, he chose to let it continue. Nice going, coach.

And just for the record, Mark Richt has never called timeout to prolong a game in which UGA has the lead for the sole purpose of extending the game. As for the flimsy excuse that Meyer gave that he wanted to give the running back additional carries…….well, it was indeed a flimsy, pathetic excuse. I would have had more respect if he had simply told the truth.

I don’t know Dorsey, I’m pretty good at facing reality. You bring up two good points, the Stafford miss to Chandler, and their players are no better than ours.

In reality, IMO, with some better play calling in the red zone we don’t kick field goals, at least two should be converted for TD’s. I strongly disagree on the coaching side. We’ve been outcoached and out game planned twice this year.

Who is responsible for the lack of discipline, which for the most part leads to our mistakes, i.e. and our players not making the plays? Those issues have been there all year….

    Gator Zone,

Thanks so much for helping to solidify my point about Florida. I am not referring to the fans of either team, nor am I defending Coach Richt in terms of last year’s game. I am simply making the point that Coach Meyer can no longer cry and whine about last year (including writing about it in his book). Most neutral observers will agree that the stunt pulled by Coach Meyer was low class. It’s fine to celebrate your win, it’s fine to criticize Caoch Richt for last year, but it’s not fine to do so when you forfeit the perceived moral high ground.

Florida has a great team, without question (although you couldn’t beat Ole Miss, and couldn’t make a half-yard on a critical fourth down). And most college football fans, including myself, have enormous respect for Tim Tebow. My whole point is that Urban Meyer no longer has any credibility on this issue.

    Notes:

I’ve seen a few UF fans stating that the Gators cheered when UGA finally scored a TD. It wasn’t a supportive cheer, it was a mocking cheer. And it was delicious.

It will be interesting to see how UGA football behaves themselves in 09. I bet they act like kids in church. Getting beatdown after acting like douchebags tends to do that to you.

I agree that all schools have a*******hole fans. Florida included. That said, I have never had so many people jump directly in my face as I have when I attended the JAX game after UGA won. Later that evening at the Landings, I saw incredibly rude behavior by UGA fans.

Did UGA/fans really think that Knowshon would come into saturdays game and run on UF’s defense? If you did, you haven’t been watching UF lately or you didn’t see the stomp last year. What an incredibly stupid act that was essentially poking a sleeping bear with a stick. Richt tried to downplay the whole thing but in the end, HE called on his players to get flagged. It’s really all on him. If I were a UGA fan, I’d be very unimpressed with Richt at this point. He did immeasurable harm with that foolishness.

Sorry UGA, this won’t be forgotten when the teams meet the next time. UF has a very young, very athletic hornets nest of a defense that will only be better in 09. Scary. The end zone stomp will carry on for years, not just 08. Ultimately, Richt will be criticized by UGA fans for eternity as a result of his ridiculous call to action.

UGA would have beaten Florida in 07 WITHOUT the douchey endzone dance. Chew on that UGA.

Now go enjoy a double slice of humble pie .

I can’t imagine UGA fans being smacky now.

BulldogJim, I do not think Meyer ever worried about the high ground. Unlike St. Mark, he does not go around espousing his values/beliefs. However, his statement of being burned by the celebration was a reflection of how much flack he caught down here. People questioned his manhood and the teams toughness after that game, so it burned deep. As evendenced by the pushups and weight room routines.

Of course the mere mention of it and Bulldog fans call him Urban cryer and Timmy Teblow.

Also, Meyer made it clear that he would do something in the game to remind bulldog fans of it and he did. To Gator fans, that was an exclamation point on a definitive victory. case closed.

We are burnt as UGA fans because deep down you and I know give us a great coach and Gators will CHOKE on bulldawg turds like they did for the time zone before 1989!!!!!!! I know alot of OLD UF alums and they have nothing but DEEP respect for UGA cause they were there for the whippins. TIME will change, one day we will have a total prick of a coach who does nothing but focus on football. Check out Richt’s side life (great guy for sure) but Iam sorry he is not putting in the time for a major SEC program and it shows!! I doubt you even graduated from the university you are going on and on about! Fact: 90% of the REST of the SEC thinks your coach is a total Jackass! Doesn’t care for UF and actually likes Richt ( I am sick of him as our coach because of what happens time and time again on Saturdays that really count.) Our kids can play with anyone but what we fear most is our own sorry coaching! UGA handed you guys that game, many times before. Hang on to your ugaly football team cause every person I know from UF is drunk on their W/L record that is bought and paid for by tax dollars. I continue to be more concerned about the grammatical errors made by the TV/radio announcers. What’s this nation coming to? I now just hit the mute button and listen to classical music while watching the game. For those of you who get too excited watching/listening to games of your favorite teams, try it. Following a particularly troublesome loss you will find yourself in a better mood and much kinder to your significant other.

Sorry UGA fans, but coming from a person that can’t stand the Dawgs or the Gators (by the way, you guys are equally obnoxious), that stunt that Georgia pulled last year was WAY worse than Florida calling those timeouts. I don’t even see where there is a debate. Plus in college football, the worse you beat somebody, especially a ranked opponent, the better your ranking is going to be most of the time. Dawg fans, after that stunt last year, did you really think Florida was going to show you any mercy? Why would they? Dawg fans, you remember you were ranked number 1 in preseason, then you didn’t really come out in the first game with an impressive win and you dropped to number 2? Running up the score means something, so stop your crying.

    Gator Zone,

You continue to make my point for me with each successive post. I am not talking about the game, the score, the teams, the SEC, the national championship, or anything else. I am referring to your coach, and how he cried all year long about Coach Richt, including whining about it in his book, no less……..then turned right around and tried to settle the score with a no-class stunt at the end of the game…….which is fine……..and extremely hypocritical…….all I’m saying is he can no longer cry and whine about losing to UGA last year the way the Gators lost (and they did lose last year, remember?)…..and oh, by the way, the Gators had the whole second, third and fourth quarter last year to react to the on-field celebration.

One last point, and I’m done. Most of the former coaches/players on ESPN/CBS/Fox Sports had no problem with last year’s UGA celebration. I have not heard anyone defending Meyer. Case closed…..verdict sealed……post closed.

As someone not from either school I have this to say: I’ve never heard more obnoxious and trash talking fans than UGA’s. It’s nice to see it finally get a bit more quiet now that they’re team has had a good, and very needed, a* whipping. I also didn’t notice any bench clearing celebration penalties from the Gators. For the previous two years they’ve shown something Mark Richt and his team don’t have - CLASS.

You own us now just like Dooley owned Florida in the 70’s & 80’s. It works in cycles….. Also, the players don’t care near as much as we do. I heard someone ask Herschel Walker once in an interview how he felt about GA’s trouble at beating Florida since Spurrier arrived. He responded by saying that while he was a LITTLE disappointed by it, the real thing he cared about was that he never lost to Florida as a player & wore them out. On the other side of the ball. No doubt..Fl has a great offense. But Ga’s defense is solid and very sound throughout. Fl will struggle at times and will not be able to keep up and score as many points as Ga will.

Look for another similar style game to last year. Ga wins 41-24.

People are reading your article. I like the fact that you have admitted that you were wrong. I dislike the fact that you are insincere about it.

FACT: The Gators have owned the Bulldogs the past 20 or so years. FACT: The Gators have a better team this year. FACT: Tebow is a once-in-a-lifetime college football player for us to have had the pleasure of watching grow each game. He doesn’t need to talk the talk….he just walks the walk. FACT: Georgia cheapened its victory with the nonsense it pulled at the beginning of last year’s game. Although it may not have been planned by Mark Richt, it was a result of an attitude bestowed in the program.
FACT: Georgia paid for its behavior by being embarrassed this year.
FACT: You will side with Georgia again next year.
FACT: Your allegiance to Georgia will sell more newspapers for the AJC next season.

Too bad you had to sweeten your well deserved slice of humble pie with another dig at the Gator fan base by calling them obnoxious. But, I really didn’t expect more from you.

Gator fans were disappointed with Richt’s ‘celebration’ last year because it was disrespectful, uncalled for, and against the rules. At first, Gator fans were confused and then we learned that Mr. Richt actually coached his players to commit this penalty. This is why it was a “big deal”.

We thought Mr. Richt, as the coach of a major college football program, shouldn’t be teaching students that breaking the rules is an acceptable way to get a point across.

Urban Meyer, within the rules of the game, put Coach Richt in ‘timeout’ for committing this infraction.

Personally, I don’t take your writings seriously as I see you more of a cheerleader than a writer but I do get some entertainment value out of them.

    MobileDawg,

I agree that coaching was a big part of why we lost to Bama the way we did, but I have a hard time faulting the coaches for Saturday when it wasn’t the coaches who missed two field goals. It wasn’t the coaches who missed Chandler in the end zone and it wasn’t the coaches who threw that duck that Haden picked and the coaches didn’t take Knowshon’s eye off of the ball. If Statfford simply sets his feet and hits Chandler in the end zone its 10-14. We get a stop on UF’s first drive of the 3rd Q and then convert anything 3, 7 whatever and we’ve got a game. Instead, Stafford throws several beautiful passes and then one horrific duck that gets toted to the 1. The game was lost on the field by people who know how to play better and simply didn’t.

Charlie Strong looked in Stafford’s eyes and said you can’t beat me and he was right. Something tells me that if Charlie had looked to stop Matt and challenged Knowshon that the result would have been different. The guy has a cannon and is great a lot of the time, but he just does not seem to have that “it” factor that guys like Montana and Elway and Farve and Brady had/have. I am hoping that Murray will have that “thousand yard stare” we need in a QB.

I’m sorry, but the Georgia fans brought all of this talk on themselves by trashing UF so badly for the last year, and especially during the Summer. As others have said, don’t dish it out if you can’t take it.

And stop saying that a new coach would do better against Florida than Richt! Goff and Donnan couldn’t do it, either. Shoot, even Zook had a winning record against y’all!

So, if you don’t want to hear this stuff, just ignore the blogs for, oh, say the next year or so. At least the next few weeks. But if you’re going to come in here, take it like a man.

C’mon Dorsey Hill. You sound extremely foolish drawing “what if” scenarios that would have kept UGA in the game. The simple fact is that UF was vastly superior on Saturday. NO scenario that you might draw would have helped the Dawgs. They were throroughly beaten by a much better team.

    GatorG,

I agree. The most frustrating thing about the whole deal is that we didn’t back it up. Well, at least two guys on our team couldn’t back it up and it cost us dearly. The opportunity was there to take the series back by the throat and instead it looks like last year was an anomaly when it should have been the beginning of a trend.

CMR- Please get Stafford and Walsh a sports psycologist or I’m gonna need a psychiatrist.

Q for CMR- why does a TB get benched for fumbling but a QB doesn’t get benched for throwing off his back foot? I think its about time to start treating the QB’s like the rest of the guys and yank them when they have dumb and uncalled for mental errors.

And stop with this stupid idea that UF “buys” championships with a huge budget. Florida’s athletic budget is $76M. Georgia’s is $70M. Are you saying that translates into a 16-3 record?

Ole Miss, by the way, was able to beat us with a $28M budget.

Apparently it isn’t your budget that’s the problem….

I never called Teebow anything else but his name and def. agree he is a “good” guy! I would take him over MS any day and I was also NEVER in those arguments about MS being better(Heisman winner for petes sake)I was not around this summer or any other time than “right after” big games. I am concerned every year when UGA plays big time SEC teams with CMR and his assistant Clowns at the helm, and never throw around predictions or trash beforehand!! I was worried about 2-3 games on the schedule this year and 2 of em I was right to be concerned. After Bama game I declined tix to go the biggest dump town around because I smelled something lame coming from our Coaches&team weeks ago (even watching LSU game I didn’t like our little P*** a* defense getting thrown around)

I am angry at UGA for poor coaching for the last 2o years in SEC play. ITs OUR OWN FAULT WE ARE 2nd tier!!! LOOK AT BAMA, I felt like I was on the autobahn in a slow POS and they just blew by us in a MERCED 600 going like 165, LOOK AT LSU, a team UGA can whip up on from time to time STILL has won 2!!!!! NC in four years WTF?? Gators?? we have won 3 times in how many tries???? I am angry that UGA hasn’t taken our budgett up to where the ALMIGHTY GATORS now spend(cupcake money from our wonderful college) gotton a ball decapitating type a***** coach and shut up all these other team fans that say we suck…. kinda do actually. When you are in the know and have knowledge of the POWER/RESOURCES at the dog’s disposal, yet we still get outcoached/out gunned with great players!!!!! Frustrated and testy right now. Richt is going in reverse and I and the smart UGA fans KNOW IT!!!!! Gators you guys are just rubbing it in and are def the most rabid fans when you stink it up (aka last year?). I still will defend UGA till I get mi ashes spread into the ocean. Please go and talk about your already won NC this year with other fans and leave us dog fans to VENT!!!!

A lot of us had high expectations for this team this year, but we should have started rethinking things after the USC game, which I think, Georgia very easily could have lost. Alabama showed us why. The bad part about going to Baton Rouge and beating a good LSU team was the inability to keep the team “up” emotionally for what proved to be the toughest opponent Georgia could have faced the following week away from the confines of Sanford. It was a hard thing to watch, but I still love this team, and the coach. It’s the “fans” I’m beginning to despise.

I am a third generation UGA alumni. I have to say that I am TIRED. Tired of saying wait until next year. Tired of saying look at our record. Tired of saying we have been a perennial top 10 team. Tired of saying we are building a national champion. This is not a building year. Now I know we have been hit by the annual injury bug, but so has everyone else. I am located in Dallas Texas and watched the Texas vs. Texas Tech game. That was a game of two real teams. I have many OU fans and thought that OU may have been one of the best teams I had ever seen. Texas beat them easily. Texas tech was able to take an inferior team and coach them to a well designed and executed victory. How can we continue to recruit the nations best and continue to not see results. I was happy as a clam with the SEC championships we won. I attended one of them. I am sorry to say but that “don’t cut the mustard” anymore. That is a stepping stone. We are camping out on those stones. I love CMR. He is a great man with a great family. I think he can take us all the way. However, we have to recognize the fact that our coaching staff has been poached. We need, nay deserve, a blue chip staff. I do not hold our boys at fault. Nor does CMR. With this type of talent we have to ask for better. I believe if the teams had been switched, the result would have been similar. We are out coached, not just in play calling, but in attitude and playing style. I look at Leach in freaking Lubbock Texas. we do not have towns like lubbock in Georgia. It is a waste land. I would be willing to bet that, barring Crabtree, Leach would take our squad in a heart beat. We deserve more than Bobo has to offer. Let him get more experience some where else. Check out our biggest SEC opponents, and their coaching changes. You will see a NC in a matter of years. We will not have this level of talent again for a long time. I think we deserve better. I have two flgs on my house all year long, the Red and Black hung just a few feet under “Old Glory.” I will continue to do so but… I am getting tired.

In the Dawgs defense, this is not the same team as last year. The reason we were pre-season #1 was the anticipation that the majority of that team would remain. If we had kept everyone healthy, who knows how the season could have gone. With that many injuries back to back, and the shifting of players, it is not hard to explain why they haven’t jelled as a team.

I give UF props for beating us fair and square. No excuses in that one. The Dawgs and the nation had a legitimate reason to expect better out of this team at the start of the season. UF had a bone to pick with us, and pick they did. Maybe, just maybe, this will be the last we hear of “the celebration”. UF got their revenge, now can be just move on?!

I expect UGA to improve next season and become more competitive in the big games. This game was a reality check, I saw no emotion or passion coming from these players at the start or finish of the game. May this game be embedded in their hearts and minds through the rest of the season into the next one.

While I am disappointed in the loss, I still support this team. No offense to Auburn or TN fans, but things could be much , much worse for us. If we win out, a 2 loss record with the schedule we had will be just fine with me. GO DAWGS!

    Mr. Bradley,

After the result of last Saturday’s Dawg pounding by Timmy Tebow, Brandon Spikes, and the countless other Gators, it looks like Mr. Richt’s scripted celebration of last year was a TACTICAL victory, but a STRATEGIC catastrophe.

Last year’s victory propelled UGA to the Sugar Bowl, where they crushed an overrated and over matched Hawai’i team, whereas Florida’s loss merely amounted to the Capital One bowl in a year where they had no Nat’l Title hopes in the first place.

And look where Mr. Richt’s shenanigans got his team this year - provided fodder for the entire offseason for the mighty Gators and gave them every bit of motivation to propel them to a huge victory and very much into the Nat’l Title picture? And your Dawgs? The Capital One bowl isn’t looking too bad - but then again, wasn’t UGA supposed to be in the National Championship this year?

That would just about make it perfect for me if she did. Obnoxious Gator fans??!! How about all the “Gaytors” and “Urban Criers” from you and the Dawg fans for the last year on your blog. The only “criers” I know now are Georgia Bulldog fans blaming the refs for Florida crushing your “best team ever” team on Saturday. Florida is good, but those teams in the Big 12 are as good or better right now. The Big 12 is the class conference this year, and the winner of that conference should play in the NC game for sure. The only justice would be a Big 12/SEC game. But I am sure they will put an undefeated (who have they played?) Penn State team from the Big Ten in again….and to get crushed by either a SEC or Big 12 team…again!

This list of posted comments is longer than the rap sheets of the UGA football team, and that’s saying something.

Mark, I’ve always enjoyed your columns. You can’t win, if you support the home team you get ripped, especiallay when you’re this wrong; and when you don’t (tomorrow) you get ripped. (but by people that actually buy your paper) Good work as usual. As a Gator fan I’ve never been happier that you were so far off on this year’s game / Dawg team. Keep up the good work.

Endzone dances and stupid timeouts at the end of the game don’t mean anything and won’t next year either. Once the teams are on the field the preperation, talent, attitude and desire to win take over. The other garbage is for the fans and chat boards.

Great game by our team and hopefully we’ll be playing in ATL v. Bama in December. Stay focused on Vandy & Spurriers G-cocks! Go Gators!!

The Florida is just a bad dream now it’s time to move on and worry about them next year. You can’t change it so why worry. Just take care of business from here on out. Let the chips fall as they may. It was sad to see the GA fans leave so soon. Thanks to the true fans who stuck it out.

The Dawg fans evacauated the stadium on Saturday like there was a hurricane coming by the end of the 3rd qtr. The only people left cheering for the Dawgs in the 4th qtr were parents, coaches, the band, dawg fans too drunk to read the scoreboard, 2 star recruits, playa’s babies momma’s, bookies (yup $$ was heavy on the Gators), dude who holds ugly dog’s leash, the easter bunny, and REM (who were heard humming - Losing My Religion, right after singing Orange Crush!)

    Go Gators!

No one knows what’s going to happen until toe meets leather. Bradley was wrong twice about Georgia, like many of us were having watched Georgia end the last two seasons by winning out including the bowl game. In this case, we were wrong. Florida outplayed Georgia and richly deserved the win. Meyer has a right to call timeouts if he wants to. However, he’s disingenuous (i.e., lying) and fooling no one when he claims this has something to do with “trying to win the game” unless the game is ‘one upsmanship.’ As Mrs. Meyer so eloquently went around yelling, “What goes around, comes around.” The Bible puts is thus: “Pride goes before the fall.”

The dawgs would have won if they had all rushed the field after their field goal. I remember years ago when the dawg fans toppled over the fence trampling each other one year in jax. guess its generational.

As I predicted, the resident homo on 680thefan.com wrote a scathing article about UGA. I don’t mind when a sports writer tells it like it is. However, the only time Jeff Schultz or Kincade writes anything about UGA is when they lose. I didn’t see anything last week when UGA put up 52 points on LSU. I bet neither one of those a* clowns ever put on a helmet and shoulder pads.

It’s typical leghumper mentality to be incredibly wrong then declare it’s time to be praised for admitting he was incredibly wrong. Okay, that’s an official butt-sniffer. Keep perpetuating the loser mentality up there; you’ll never figure out why you lose 90% of the time, even when the Gators show you the winning formula.

A simple fact, your ACC trained coach quit on his players. The onside kick in the first half while only trailing by 4 was a sign of desperation that the whole team picked up on. It was all down hill from there. The fish, or in this case, the Bulldawg, rots from the head.

    Go Gators.

Oh please! Georgia fans are obnoxious? What a broad generalization! Get this, all sports fans are obnoxious! Just because Florida won doesn’t mean the sun won’t ever shine again. To hear how Florida prepared(supposedly) for the Georgia game just shows how overboard some college football coaches have become. I sure as hell hope Mark Richt doesn’t suffer and seethe for the next year like it seems Urban Meyer did after the UGA game last year. Did the stock market suddenly go up because Florida won? Did it sink solely because Georgia lost? Get some perspective on life everyone! I have to chuckle at some of the foul, moronic, and foolish comments I see on this blog. It seems many people(UGA and Florida fans included) have such a worthless because they spew such hate and make such broad judgements about another person’s alma mater. You know what’s really important? Tomorrow’s election! Don’t forget to vote! Georgia is still a great team in my mind, and I don’t really care if they lose 1, 2, 3 games or more. Remember it’s just a game, and I support my team win, lose, or draw.

You want to hear the best funny joke of the year…..Ga. Preseason #1….NoShow and Stafford Heisman Hopefuls…..I can’t stop laughing.
One post hit it right on the button. CMR will cause Ga. to lose for a long time to the Gators…..because he will always get outcoached in a big game and his tasteless tactics always come back to hurt. He might need to do some more commericials…..ha ha…..enjoy the Captial One Bowl….if you even make that.

And please keep up the discussion on how high a draft pick Stafford’s going to be! That obviously has a lot of bearing on who wins the GA-FL game. TOO FUNNY! Oh, and by the way, since you and about 95% of the Dawgs’ weren’t in attendance during 4th quarter, Joe Cox directed a masterful touchdown drive against the Gator bench. But in the spirit of the game, and to recognize UGA’s immense effort for three and a half quarters, the Gator Nation was there in full force to provide a standing ovation! JOE COX is better than Stafford. According to Dawg fans, no one on earth or who have ever lived has ever had a stronger “CANNON” arm than Stafford… but I think he proved the other day that the things he lacks are QB smarts. The nation saw on Saturday that it takes more than a rocket arm to play QB. It takes the “thing” that can’t be taught - and since it can’t be taught, Stafford will never make the Pros. So quit talking about how good he “WILL BE IN THE NFL” when he isn’t even one of the top QBs in college football.

I’m a happy Gator, but I grew up in Atlanta. I am old enough to remember Vince Dooley coaching. I am not sure Richt is cut from the same cloth as Dooley, who could motivate his players to win and play above their raw talent level. Richt may understand the Xs and Os of modern college football better, and he recruits great talent, but can he motivate the way the “pill” in Gainesville can? Your call, Mr. Bradley. Pre-season prognostication doesn’t mean much; games have to be played before we can see how good teams really are - and few pundits expected Alabama and Florida to be so good and Tennessee and Auburn to be quite so poor. I do not know if Georgia has not played up to its potential, or if its potential was overstated by you and other sports pundits. But you were certainly not alone in your praise. If I have any criticism of UGA fans, it’s that they tend to underestimate their opponents’ talent, desire and focus. They are too insular. Perhaps you have been too insular as well; perhaps you should travel to the other SEC schools and check out the opposing pills and what they do.

I will be glad when the day comes that the NCAA start passing out nat.titles to schools who players get drafted high. So what if lil’ matty is gonna be the 1st pick in the draft. What will u have to show for it? NOTHING! Last time i checked, great QB’s were determined by championships WON. This garabe hasn’t won anything. Peyton was the 1st pick in the draft. He has had a great career to this point. In 2008 UT is 3-6. Bottomline people, UT don’t have anything to show for where he was drafted or his great PRO career. To all GATOR fans, is beating uga really something to brag about? We’re supposed to beat that garabe. LOSERS! Go GATORS!!!

    You weren’t wrong… just stupid.

I am sorry folks, but anyone who placed there hopes on a national championship because the dogs took out Hawaii last season was just stupid.

I admit I fully got caught up in the hype, as well. But, how do you prepare for LSU at LSU and UF back to back?

The point I wish to make is this. Everyone shut the hell up about bowls and polls, and get behind your team.

I love Raycom sports because I can finally watch a game again instead of a bunch of sports broadcasters/personalities blathering on about there opinions that usually have to do with their glory days, someones parents, some meaningless stat, or what restaurant is good in town.

This sport is all make believe. Let’s get back to pulling for our team, a bunch of young men, kids really who are playing their hearts out. Scrap the hype. Get a playoff system. And, get back to basics.
