This blog has moved! Yes, already!

As of Thursday, Feb. 12, this little blog has relocated to a new home on AJC.com. It’s the same newspaper, the same Web site and the same writer (feel free to groan) — there’s just a new URL.

New features: Bigger type, more graphics, comments that load 10 times faster and a larger and more recent photo that makes me look pretty doggone old. I think you’ll like it (the blog, not the photo). But I am, as we know too well, often wrong.

Georgia sends Gators a warning

Baton Rouge, La. — Alert the Urban Crier. The Georgia Bulldogs’ final act of a giddy day in Death Valley was — you guessed it — to dance in the end zone. Only this time they waited until the final horn had sounded and the refs had departed to do it.

“Just spontaneous,” said Knowshon Moreno, the lead dancer among the chorus line of Dogs. “Just having fun.”

What we witnessed here was a team that spent seven games playing under pressure remembering how sweet it feels to be the aggressor. Georgia hung half a hundred (plus two) on the reigning national champ at the absolute proper moment — seven days before the World’s Largest Outdoor Grudge Match.

“We’ve been hearing about [the celebration penalty] since that [Florida] game was over,” said Rennie Curran, the linebacker. “We know [the Gators] are going to use that play to get fired up.”

And you know what? Let ‘em.

Because when Georgia plays the way it did here, Georgia is — pause for effect — the class of the SEC. Yes, Florida beat LSU by 30 points, but that was in the Swamp. Nobody comes here and does what the Bulldogs just did. And what the Bulldogs just did was what we’d been waiting for them to do for two months.

They attacked from the first snap. Heck, they scored on the first snap, and LSU did the snapping. Darryl Gamble, the linebacker starting only because Dannell Ellerbe is hurt, read Jarrett Lee’s eyes and took a short pass the other way. (Gamble would do the same thing three hours later, thereby rendering him Lee’s most productive receiver.) In between Georgia did everything we’ve waited, not entirely patiently, to see.

A.J. Green separated from Jai Eugene for a 49-yard touchdown one play after dropping a pass. Moreno outran Darry Beckwith, LSU’s best defender, at the end of a 68-yard burst. The maligned O-line yielded one measly sack, and Matthew Stafford threw the ball and managed the game like a No. 1 draftee-to-be.

“With our age and the injuries we’ve had, we knew it would take time,” Stafford said. “We weren’t disappointed that we weren’t winning by that many points — but maybe some other people were.”

A week ago this correspondent conceded that he might’ve overrated Georgia, but this 52-38 thumping changed a changing mind. (OK, I’m fickle. Sue me.)

If you can do this to LSU in frothing Tiger Stadium, you need have no fear of Florida or anything reptilian.

Said Curran: “The way we’re coming together as a team, we feel we definitely can hang with any team in the nation.”

We knew coming in that the LSU game wouldn’t write the story of Georgia’s season: Either way, it would only drop a hint as to what will happen in Jax. We now have reason to believe the Bulldogs will meet Florida’s ire with fire and — might as well say it — will win.

And if they do, this much is certain: The Bulldogs will dance again at the Gators’ expense. Said cornerback Asher Allen: “It would be lovely to be able to do that.”

Asked Saturday about last season’s scripted penalty, Mark Richt said: “We’ve got a release — a text — of what I said in Birmingham [in July] that we’re going to give anybody who asks explaining what happened.”

“Call me,” said Claude Felton, Georgia’s helpful publicist.

By Sunday, Richt said, he’ll “have coached [the players] up on what to say” about the celebration, but as of Saturday his message of muteness hadn’t been imparted. So here was Curran, when asked if the Bulldogs had something new planned for Florida.

“Not that I know of,” he said. And then, smiling: “Maybe the seniors have something up their sleeve.”

Urban Meyer, you have been warned.

Im not worried……Georgia have been waiting for this game just as much as Florida has. Ricth will have the boys ready to go. It will be our an offensive shootout, and I would take Georgia any day of the week…..especially this coming Saturday;)

Georgia now leads every offensive stat in the SEC.

Moreno leads in rushing and scoring

Stafford leads in passing

Green leads in receiving

Georgia leads in total offensive….and btw LSU has a better defensive than Florida.

Great column, Mark. Very cleverly written! You really captured what was special about the game and this team.

Let’s not grumble about giving up so many points to a less than stellar Tiger offense when the UGA offense cut through their defense like a sharp knife through hot s#*t!

Thank goodness Southerland is back! Man we missed him!

I am a little concerned going into next week. Our defense still doesn’t seem to be able to stop teams. Our offense will have to match the Gators step for step, and we will have to come up with one or two huge turnovers and not make any ourselves.

Just because Dawg fans say it doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. Florida will whip Georgia for 4 quarters like Bama did for 2 quarters. I think LSU talked smack about putting down Tebow also and we saw what happened to them.

Oh yeah, how about Duke beating that previously powerhouse SEC Vanderbilt team. Face it, the SEC is mid level talent outside of Florida and Bama.

Mark,

Did we watch the same game? Georgia’s Defense couldn’t stop LSU all night - it was one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen. Willie’s Defense gave up 497 yards of Total Offense!! 55 more yards than Georgia netted on Offense.

I have been sick I’ve hearing all these Florida Gayturds talking smakc about the upcoming whippin’. I think it might be a shoot out. But I wouldn’t write-off wither team - I also wouldn’t bet on the game.

Hey “Reality”, Which points shall I rebuke? A claim that a team will beat us next week. What sort of analysis would one use to refute a prediction? Only the game next week can confirm or deny that assertion. Additionally, I have no argument that Vandy lost to Duke. They did but you’re missing the point. I could care less how well other SEC schools do against ACC schools. I only care how UGA performs and so far it’s not so bad. Going forward, you can debate about debate skills but there is no debate about the following.. your trolling on a UGA blog because your team lost and you’re hoping you can get someone’s goat but you can’t. Deal with it.

I luv the Dawgs just as much as V. Dooley himself, but I have a bad feeling about next Saturday in Jax against the Gators. Also, I think the fans and players are little too confident about a win next week. Remember, Florida was step for step with us last year and that was with every player on our team being healthy for the most part. I think this is the one game where we feel the lose of our key Defensive and Offensive line.

Gamble’s 2 picks for six were awesome. Remove those from the defensive performace and the defense was horrible, against a pretty bad LSU offense.

43% of AJC respondents (on How would you rate the Dogs’ performance?) have said that Georgia’s defense played Good to Excellent. 43% of respondents are STUPID.

Does anybody have a screen-capture of the LSU fan that flipped us the bird there in the second half. Looked as if a camera from across the field came on and the ‘coona**’ caught sight of the light and let one fly, and then as if to pretend that he really wasn’t signaling that he thought that LSU was still #1, he poked at his cap-bill with that still extended middle finger.

Look for it if you TIVOed the game, it was beautiful.

I love the DAWGS - played great against LSU…but simply put - LSU had 497 yards against our D…this stat has got to improve drastically if we are to win. Again, I love the Dawgs, but Tebow will be full strength (vs last year) and we’d better figure out how to stop him and their other RBs. If we can’t get up and play at our potential for this game we don’t deserve to be there…GO YOU HAIRY DAWGS!!

Great win today- I was pleased to be watching from the bleachers at ground level and all I can say is, “It’s great… to be… a Georgia Bulldog!” Smack talk is cheap so let’s check the facts- UGA is better at QB, better at RB, better at FB, better at DL, bettter at LB, better at CB, and better at S. AJ is as good as Percy and our other receivers are better than theirs. You can also keep Urban, we’ll stick with CMR. Does this mean Georgia wins? Not necessarily but we more than covered today. The dawgs will beat the gators and here’s why:

-Dawgs have hair, gators have scales.

-Dawgs are hot blooded creatures made by God and man’s best friend, gators are cold blooded killers that sneak up on its victims and God make yet recall them from his inventory.

-Dawgs bark before they bite, gators don’t bark and give their prey a fair chance to escape. That’s just bad sportsmanship.

-Dawgs smile at people and wag their tail, gators float in the water and basically look plain stupid.

-Dawgs coronated UGA as its poster dawg, gators are mindless, selfish crocidile wannabes.

-Dawgs pee on carpet thinking they did the right thing, gators don’t pee and that’s why they’re green.

-Dawgs look good in red and black, gators never wear clothes just proving my point that they are mindless, cold blooded killers that could use a personal shopper (if they didn’t eat them first).

Mark, I hope you didn’t jinx the Dawgs by picking them to whip the Gators next week. I must admit I am concerned about the defense. The defense does need to do a better job against both the run and the pass and the Gators can do both. The Dawgs will really hve to hunker down. If my memory is correct the Dawgs usually play one of their slopper games against the Gators. I think the offense and the defense will need to bring their A games next week to the party. Lets not bury the gator until it’s dead.

Mark, the Bulldogs offense looked good today. But the Gators offense put up over 50 (could have been 70) on LSU when they were #4 in the country, and then the Gators put up over 60 (could have been 100) on Kentucky today. The Gators offense is in high gear…and the Gator defense is a lot better than what I saw Georgia put out there on the field today. And Georgia has no match for the Gators special teams. Plus, I don’t think you have speed matches for Harvin, Rainey, Demps, and their gang of speedsters. Good luck on Saturday. You are really going to need it…cause luck is the only way you win in Jax. Wallow in statistics? Mark is saying that UF should be so scared of UGA. Why? Again, almost 500 yards from a worthless LSU offense. Scott ran all over you guys, and he had 35 yards against UF, 18 coming on a carry with under five minutes to go in the game with it already decided.

Again, why should I, or anyone else, be scared of Georgia?

Lets face it, the Dawg’s defense can be scary at times. They do give up a lot of yards and points but I remember the Erk Russell philosophy on defense, bend but don’t break. That’s the way the old Georgia defenses played, bend but don’t break and make the big play when you had to. I am comcerned about our defense but I think they can get the job done if they hunker down and play like junkyard dawgs. in years past the Dawgs usually played one of their slopper games against the Gators. Lets hope that the offense and the defense brings their A games next Saturday. Oh, and Mark, I hope you didn’t jinx the Dawgs by picking them to whip the Gators.

I am on record as having picked UGA to win today 31-17. OK, I was a little low. Now, for the sake of objectivity, none of this matters if the winner of UGA-UF does not win out and beat Bama in Atlanta. Yep, Bama remains the premier SEC team until proven otherwise. That said, Dawgs beat Gators 42-24 and Urban Meyer turns into a steamed lobster.

One more comment, then out. After a great win, some of you still want to complain about WM. “Except for the two interceptions for scores, our D sucked….” Fact- Gamble credited WM with prepping him for the pass LSU tried on their first play. Result: defensive TD. I’d call that stopping them. Charles Scott is a bull and LSU has outstanding skill players. They have a good shot at beating Bama. What’s our won-loss record under WM? I suppose if we won all of our games, you’d still want to see him fired because we weren’t beating other teams badly enough. Now, excuse me while I go off and be happy.

georgia will win this game, and this is why…florida cannot run the ball, they can pass it all over the place but they cannot run it, they are one dimensional. LSU has a massive o-line and they pretty much had there way with our defensive front, but there QB play is wretched, everytime they got it going on offence Lee managed to throw an interception. with that being said the best way to play defence against florida is to keep there offense off the field which Knowshon will do a great job of like last year. Floridas line is a lot smaller and they will get ran over next week. the best way to beat a speedy florida defence is to run right at them, GA 45 FL 28. pS Teabow might be a great guy and all but if he is trailing and getting pressured he chokes under that pressure. haha go dawgs!

Going to be a great game coming up this Saturday. Two mighty trains on the same track heading at each other at full speed. Without a doubt, even with Texas-Texas Tech, best game of the week. Even Courso and Herbstreit said they wanted to be there.

As an objective fan of SEC football, I think the Gators have a great team. I also know that historically, we get better as the year goes on and we proved that theory today. One team will come away with the victory next Saturday and play Bama for all the marbles. As a homer, I think it will be UGA. But I expect the Gator fans to be sure that they will win also. Think I will record this one as I did last years. Two great teams playing their best of the season collide in “The World’s largest Cocktail Party”, take that Mike Adams. It don’t get any better than this.

Congradts Dawgs on a stellar win, take Sunday off and start preparing for the game of your life. These are what dreams are made of. Your destiny is in your hands, pull it in and head for the endzone. GO DAWGS!!

I am in deep mourning, however, since my beloved Yellow Jackets suffered a tough loss to their nemesis, Virginia.

We have yet to see the bulldogs best game. We have yet to see them firing on all cylinders for four quarters. Richt and team have been excellent at patching this team. But, they have to be perfect against UF. It will be the game of the year, a hard fault nasty brawl. I am glad that the LSU game was not as physical as I expected. UGA cannot afford stupid personal fouls against UF.

By chazz

October 26, 2008 5:42 AM | Link to this

That celebration last year did not win the game. I am tired of hearing about what a raw deal it was for UF. UGA was penalized thirty yards for it. End of story.

They had best be ready to play a healthy Tebow. Games like this don’t come down to who wants it more; they come down to who executes better. Georgia to the man must understand that to win this game.

Okay Ugly, you beat LSU on their home field very convincingly. But remember Les Miles and Urban Meyer have won back to back National Championships, something your coach has not done. Don’t pat yourselves on the back to early this year because everyone in the country saw what Alabama did to you in one half of football. Maybe the Seniors have something else up their sleeve? This year we are the home team and the way we were embarassed by Alabama earlier this year at home in our black jerseys and everyone in the media saying our black jerseys are done. I disagree, I was there in New Orleans and the intensity that I saw I believe that it pumps the players up and even more so the fans. I’m predicting the Dawgs will be in black in Jacksonville at the request of the Seniors and we will blackout the Gators and they will play with the intensity of the Auburn and Hawaii games from last year and continue their trip to Atlanta for a rematch with Bama. You heard it here first.

This should be a great game with a lot of points which means it will probably end up about 17-14. This will obviously be the best qb UF has faced this year. The only other decent qb UF has faced was JSnead and UF lost. Don’t get to excited dawg fans though because the only good qb you have faced this year is JPWilson and you got beat. With all that said this is 2 of the 3 best teams in the SEC going head to head in what should be a great game.

That excessive celebration penalty was kind of lame. UGA was celebrating scoring on Florida (as in we were happy to score at all). Geez, if I was a Florida fan (ick) I would take such a celebration as a sign of respect. Furthermore, wasn’t the game played on “neutral” ground? So, it wasn’t exactly like dancing on UGA’s grave or tearing down the hedges.

Gators are really grasping at straws to get fired up about this. Mostly, I hope for a good game with Florida, not some sloppy game like Alabama. Even if we lose, I’d like to see a good, close game.

But, I don’t think we’ll lose. As much as I dislike the way our defense has played, I think our D is built to defend against a team like Florida. Tebow, meet Curran, Gamble and Ellerbee! Get to know them. Feel their love. Taste the turf. Go outside the pocket and it will be a few hard earned, painful yards! Go Dogs!

By Big Dawg

October 26, 2008 8:45 AM | Link to this

Buckeye you said;

“Fla will win — Fla has faster skill players, a better defense, Tebow is healthy and Georgia is moderately fast but not as fast as Fla — Ga Defense is weak and gives up to much late in the game — Jones and Evans constantly get beat — Harvin will run past them — I just don’t see it — Fl 42 Ga 28”

Buckeye the game hasn’t been played yet and only God knows what will happen. As for your point that Florida has more speed, that just isn’t true as the fastest players on either team happen to be Bryan Evans, Vance Cuff and Demiko Goodman of Georgia who BTW Evans had his best game of the year yesterday. Reshad was completely gased at the end of yesterdays game just like most of GA’s other defensive players in the 4th quarter due to some depth issues and being on the field too much in the second half. We scored too quickly in some cases, others we were three and out on and this led to the D being on the field entirely too long. But not to threat as several of our key players i.e. Ellerbe (Starting MLB and ALL SEC) Kade Weston (Defensive Tackle), Brandon Wood- (DE), Roderick Battle (starting DE) will be back for Florida and the depth issue on the defense won’t be a problem. IMHO Georgia has been staedily improving all year and still hasn’t played their best game yet.

This should be a good game next week but you never know a turnover here or there, untimely penalties, injuries etc. could allow one team or the other to win in a blowout. I just don’t think so as both of these teams are very talented. I will let you in on some inside information as I have a very good friend on Florida’s staff, their D while being much improved over last year isn’t as good as Georgia’s, but has looked better due to the Gators being more consistent on offense and having a much easier schedule.

The Gators are no longer smacking they’ll win by 40 points and that strange scent you detect is the smell of fear coming out of Gainesville, Florida after they saw what The Dawgs did to LSU.

The Dawgs have been hearing about this “away series” all year long. “Georgia can NEVER beat LSU and Florida” we have been told. Well, we will see. Perhaps the hype distracted our team from the ‘Bama game, and I think we will get a chance to redeem ourselves. However, for now, bring on the Gators.

The challenge for us will be that Tebow is not Lee or Hatch. But the Dawgs are not the Wildcats. This will be one of those match-ups people talk about for the next 20 to 30 years. Let the hype begin!

I noticed that Georgia used it’s power I formation for most of the game and I see thats what we have been hiding. Goegia is very difficult to deal with out of that formation. They run better and pass better from that formation. That play that AJ made to get open and score on one of LSU’s top corners was great! Goodman was spectacular as a receiver and Aaron White the skinny tight end caught a huge pass from Stafford. The dawgs did some things on offense that I havent seen all year. The ran drag routes for the receivers, Stafford checked down to Moreno on some pass plays instead of forcing the ball. Bobo passed on first down and Caleb wasnt spectacular but he ran hard. I know Bobo will throw in a few more wrinkles for next weeks game considering it’s importance. I must say that I am worried about the defense though. Hopefully Ellerbe will be back, Trip Chandler will be back and I think we will be able to match Florida’s intensity. I almost forgot what a huge 50 yard field goal by Walch when it seemed like LSU was gaining steam. We have our kicker for the next three years. Go Dawgs!

The Dogs will dismiss the Gators next weekend with a loss. It will be close but decisive. The Dogs must lock down the offensive line and defensive line to control the trenches. (Lsu almost had 500 yds against us…not impressive. Needs to be addressed. The Dogsalso must bring out more players that are not expected weapons..Israel Troupe, Carlton Thomas,Logan Gray,Tavarres King,Aron White. This will keep the Florida defensive coordinator totally confused.

Flordia made tons of excuses from the celebration to tebows shoulder, just shut up and play ball and by the way Moreno will get over 150 yards and a couple of scores against flordias weak Defense. 46-24 Bulldogs,

If I’m Georgia, I’d be worried about next weeks game. This is not the same LSU team from last year, the Tigers are rebuilding and it took some big plays for the Dawgs to pull away. Those plays won’t be there next Saturday. This Gator team is motivated and can smell another national championship. Georgia had spells where they went flat, do that Saturday and you Dawgs lose!

To everyone within the sound of my bark… Why is it that some of you “DAWG FANS” write in to say how much you love the Dawgs but then turn around and blast them by nitpicking on everything negative you can come up with? You fence-sitters make me want to vomit! Listen up, jacko*, you are either with us or against us. When we win you have nothing but great things to say. When we lose you say we suck. Well I say, FU! If we don’t play a perfect game and blow the other team away by 40, you complain. We go into red stick and put 52 on the board, and you say we gave up to many points / yards and WM should be fired. He puts an NCAA top 20 defense on the field every year! Man, I just want to kick people like you! We had 3 TO’s, we put good pressure on the QB most of the day and we scored 14 defensively. We bent but we didn’t BREAK! The defense has played pretty damn good all year. We will continue to do so. There are going to be good games and bad, statistically. The overall body of work is what counts. BLEED RED AND BLACK OR JUST BLEED OUT! GO DAWGS! GUT THE GATORS!

Florida had an entire game to “revenge” the “dance” in the end zone. It happened after the FIRST TD. Almost an entire game has been played since it happened.

They couldn’t revenge that dance then, and they won’t on Saturday.

Urban Meyer is still angry and mad about the dance because he looked like a confused moron who was put in his place.

Sad thing is Meyer and the gaytors are more upset about the dance then they are the rest of that game where they got destroyed on the field of play. They should be more upset about the dance that followed their butt kicking, not preceding it.

Mark Bradley has demonstrated once again that he knows nothing about the game of football by gushing about a team as virtually unbeatable after they gave up 497 yards of offense, or 7 yards per play, against an offense run by two inexperienced and mediocre QBs.

The strength of the SEC in recent years has been defense but the UGA-LSU game yesterday looked like one of those no-defense games in the Big 12. It was an embarrassment of defenders out of position and missed tackles by both teams. UGA’s backup linebacker made 2 great plays on 2 horrible throws by the LSU QB and those were the difference in the game.

If LSU put up 497 yards on the Dawg defense by running and passing virtually at will, what will Florida’s offense do on Saturday?

Wasn’t it just a week or two ago that Bandwagon Bradley was just realizing that Richt’s teams have produced few if any dominant offensive linemen? Look for a column similar to that, only about Georgia’s defense after Florida hangs up 40+ on the Dawgs next Saturday. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Gators hang up half a hundred. The typical soft coverage underneath that the Dawgs use against Florida’s speed and crossing patterns is a recipe for a lot of big plays.

Dawg Fans: It seems like you guys are making big deal about endzone dance than us Gators. Congrats, it worked for you last year, it got you motivated and frankly your team was better than ours. This is a different year and we are absolutely better than your team.

Beating someone big, meaningless touchdowns is one thing and trying to use endzone celebrations is another. If the tactics was a good one, why didnt your coach use it for other games as well? Talk about that ‘black out’ thing too…

We are all over it and it is a different year. Yes, We want revenge, for the humilating loss and big plays, not because of some stupid dance.

I don’t believe I’d worry overmuch about Georgia’s defense. Sometimes a shootout develops and there’s not much any coach can do to slow it down. Remember, LSU was chasing the game from the first 20 seconds on, so the Tigers were more aggressive offensively than they might have been. And the Tigers have loads of talent.

If memory serves, I believe Georgia yielded 30 points to Florida last season — and won by 12.

And tell me this: What good offense has Florida shut down? (Tennessee and Kentucky and Miami don’t qualify.) LSU got 21 points. Mississippi had 31. And both those games were in Gainesville.

LSU has a better “defensive” than Florida?? What does that even mean? LSU has given up 103 points in the past two games, Florida 82 all season. How does UGA’s 151 “points against” match up with UF’s defense??

Wait till they play the game. We will all see who the better team is then.

I doubt very seriously if the Gators and their coaching staff are intimidated by the Bulldogs and their coaching staff and vice versa. As Hank says “are you ready for some football?” I predict the winner of this game will win the SEC East, the SEC Championship game and play Penn State in the BCS championship game in Miami.

As an LSU fan I stated that uga would beat us because of the QB’S, LB’S and DB’S and they did.. But to say that uga is going to beat Fla that will not happen.. Fla is going to beat them by 21 points. As bad as LSU played spoting uga 17 points, they still scored 38 points. UGA is NOT a good team. What Bama did to them Fla will also. One other comment, for the most part UGA fans were very nice and we had a good time eating and drinking with them. Good luck next week they will need it.

Mark, Florida gave up 321 yards of offense to LSU, only 80 yards rushing on 26 carries (3.1 per attempt). Georgia gave up 497 yards, including 188 yards on 41 attempts (4.6 yards per carry).

And please, enough with the home field excuse unless you want to explain how Alabama crushed Georgia in Athens. Seriously, when you say that Georgia is the “class of the SEC” (whatever happened to the “standard bearers”, the title you gave UGA just before they lost their next 5 to the SEC East?) if they play like they did yesterday, do you really think Georgia was more impressive yesterday than Florida was against LSU or UK or Alabama was against Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee? While giving up 497 yards of offense to a team quarterbacked by Jarrett Lee and Andrew Hatch? Are you serious? Are you such a casual fan that you are that wowed by A.J. Green catching a bomb 10 yards behind a defensive breakdown or Moreno running through missed tackles and out of position defenders and forget about Charles Scott running through gaping holes in Georgia’s defensive front?

I don’t think Florida has a great defense but it is certainly better than Georgia’s. I don’t see Georgia’s defense even slowing down Florida’s offense. Georgia will have to score 42 again this year to have a chance to win.

Have you completely discounted defense as an essential component of a championship football team? If so, why do you think Georgia is better than Oklahoma, which scored 55 points in the first half yesterday, or Texas Tech, which scores 60+ on a regular basis?

Nobody should want to face Meyer in either of these 2 scenarios: 1. after UF has a bye week(UGA doesn’t have to worry about this year)- his record is sick after a bye week 2. If Meyer really has it in for you (AKA rivalry games)- his record against UGA, FSU, Tenn speaks for itself. One loss last year (9-1 overall). Add to that Richt’s silliness last year and Meyer unfortunately probably held too much back which didn’t help against Ole Miss. Many UF fans feel he has been holding much of the playbook for Richt to see. Emmanuel Moody will be a huge difference maker- Meyer certainly has been overly cautious with his injury to keep him ready for the puppies.

A friend of mine plays at Florida on their o-line…earlier in the summer they had a special workout session devoted to the Georgia game. For the 188 yards Knowshon put on them last year, they did 188 shoulder shrugs…for the 42 points that we put on them, the team had to do 42 reps of every part of their workout..My friend told me that everyone on the team was mad about this workout and many struggled to finish their sets and had to significantly lower the weight on their bar just to finish it out….Florida is definitely taking us seriously, so I think we should be wary and be ready to play a mistake free, focused football game. Alas, you will again be desperately seeking other excuses for why we were better than you at the WLOCP! I am so glad Tebow is not “banged up” like he was last year. I am very happy about the win. I would not have guessed that many pts total.

Congrats to the players and coaches. That second int for td by Gamble was w/a 3 man rush!! It’s about time that otherwise useless (to me it’s a very bad defensive front plan) 3 man rush plan worked. I doubt we will see it in the fla game, but Willie M. has surprised me before.

I have a tremendous dislike for Spurrier and Meyer by the way they have historically ran scores up on other teams and keeping their starters in while doing so. Now there is a new coach added to that list. Stupid Les Miles. Richt had the offense take a knee our last offensive series to avoid injury, end the game on a peaceful note, and show good sportsmanship. However, when lsu got the ball they tried to score again, risking injury. Without any timeouts left, I don’t see them scoring twice to tie the game. Man, what an idiot!!!!

Go Dawgs!! Focus only on fla in practice, and i hope we don’t do the three man rush to give time for their qb or big holes to run thru.

Mark- Your 11:59AM posting was incredible and right on spot. Good shot. Can’t believe you put down those interlopers like you did. Are you getting a passion for the Dawgs? Never seen a writer come off his high horse and mix it up. Congrats!

DaltonGator- Good blog. You are welcome on here any time. It was even and honest.

GeauxTigers- Class. But I saw similar postings from LSU fans during the week. Speaks well for all of you. We will cheer for you vs Bama.

Larry-You don’t sign in as StingDoc do you? I’ll bet your little grade school butt is hiding behind another name. You are either GT or FU. Either way, get your FUGT dumba$$ off this blog.

BulldogBill-PowerDog has your #. I’ll try to be pedantic for a moment. LSU’s running back Scott is over 220 and wouldn’t go down. He is the second leading RB in the SEC behind Moreno for a good reason and it isn’t because of poor defensive schemes. We had a lot of hands on him, but he is hard to bring down. Look at LaFell’s #s. Good D held him down to a small part of what he usually does. So overall D was very good. An Earlier posting mentioned how tired both defenses were when the O was on the field for short times and the D had no time to rest.

The O line was great and gave Staff time to throw even when they did their 4 DE rush that was effective against FU. Georgia’s O and D are better than FU’s even as the second team we have had to field this year. Going back to DJ’s year, we could have beaten them had he been in the game. The next year we fumbled within the 5 yd line and handed FU the game with that score making the difference. Last year we kicked their butts and this second team will do it again this year. Special teams will be the difference this year and may score the most points of any group. The kicks will be special, punt returns will be most important and blocked points may add up considerably making every play important and fun to watch. Yeh, the Dawgs are poised and mentally ready to paste one on FU. All of them. It is our second year of revenge for those horseshoes we gave them before.

UgaVII- We need a ground camera to move toward your midsection slowly while you slowly lift your leg and pee on a FU helmet to start the game on the megatron sign. They don’t penalize you yards for that do they? Urban Crier would probably lobby the refs for you to go into your house. How about a fireplug with the FU helmet on top? Don’t worry, we always think of something. You done ET Tu-Fay and are back home with your Pal Lotti. Good Dog!

…and the beat goes on. Sonny and Cher coined this into a popular 60s song but I read this theme every week when the dawgs’ opposition says the team you just beat is no good. I didn’t read that comment anywhere before UGA whipped up on LSU. Instead, UGA was going to get mauled by the Tigers. Now that the canines took a bite out of crime in Baton Rouge, LSU is the team that is no good. Nothing but masterminds. Hindsight is always 20/20 but I’m convinced that foresight for the masses is near about blind. So, all you Gator fans that think you’ve come up with the perfect explanation as to why UF will win, remember as the famous and now departed Skip Caray was apt to say, “that is why they play the game.”

Bradley must have nightmares about Spurrier, Billy Donovan, and Meyer. Two words all of these coaches have in their vocabulary. NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP- something UGA hasn’t seen in many many years. Bradley you should join Bianchi for the Orlando Sentinel. At least you could cover some winning teams.

I don’t believe that many except, ahem, mindless journalists really believed that the Tigers would “maul” the butt-sniffers.

I wonder what gimmick the dawg seniors have come up with this year? After humping each other in the endzone last year, it would be hard to surprise anyone. They sure are barking a whole bunch, if you read the press clippings. I wonder why they feel the need to bark?

LSU’s offense is similar to Alabama”s. It is well suited to take advantage of Ga’s defense. The Gator O is speed and finesse based- the kind of O the Dawg defense is built to stop. UF will not be able to run the ball on Georgia like LSU did, and will be one dimensional as usual. The problem for them is Georgia is just as fast. Dawgs should win by 2 TDs and maybe more if they watch the penalties.

Bradeley is a lackey for UK in basketball and the posterior sniffers in football. He has experienced difficulty in coming to grips witht the fact that the UF dominates each of his teams of yesteryear — in two sports. Get used to hit Bradley, each of your beloved teams is playing for 2nd place behind the Gators.

There is so much dislike for UGA outside of the UGA fan base that I wouldn’t be surprised if Meyer’s buddy Bill Belichik has given him a few of his own tips on what to do UGA. He comes to Gainesville every year. This game won’t be pretty. Richt is a Miami grad and will have something similiar to say after Randy Shannon played UF this year. Why did you run the score up on us? only this time hopefully Meyer will say because you deserved it.

Dawgs will win because they will play a more physical game.

Florida’s smoke and mirrors offense will certainly get them some points, say in the 17-21 range, but they won’t eat enough clock to keep the Georgia “O” in check. Brannan Southerland’s return is key to Georgia really eating up the clock and being efficient on offense.

Final score 33-21 Dawgs.

William, William, William… Demps is averaging more yards per carry than Moreno? How many totes does he have, 20? 25? Knowshon has 149 for 925 yds and 12 tds. Demps couldn’t carry Moreno’s jockstrap, you dumba$$. Unfortunately for you, there is no cure for stupidity. You give a man his props when he’s earned them. Hey William- Most of those players mentioned were on the team or played last year and had their Big ‘ole tails handed to them. Secret weapons, eh? Well we have 8 different players replacing injured players and new players to boot. We have a new team to beat your sorry butts again this year. By the way, this year at the beginning of the season, you were giving the ground game to UGA because the difference in FU receivers were superior and you would win because Staff had no one to throw to and couldn’t run like Tebow. You can’t even count the passing targets this year and we have added to the running game that kicked your butts last year. Yeh, keep on talking ignorance and we all figure your blowhard stuff out real fast.

There are a few good FU fans on here(initially) and you had to come on this blog to stink it up. I actually feel sorry for you as an individual. We won’t feel sorry for you after we dunk your head between two cyprus knees and leave your bluster face down on the field.

Yesterday’s game was good in the sense that UGA won. A victory is still a victory even though the defense gave up way too many points. I don’t agree with Willie Martinez and that zone crap! If UGA would play man to man and blitz, their defense would still dominate even with the loss of Jeff Owens and Danelle Ellerbe. UGA played FLA last year straight up and beat them. If UGA plays them straight up again this coming Saturday, then they have an EXCELLENT shot at beating them again.

Urban Cry-er wasn’t mad about the excessive celebration penalty after the first TD in last year’s game. What really bothered him was the fact UGA ran the ball right down his defense’s throat on the opening drive of the game and THEY couldn’t stop it. THAT DRIVE SET THE TONE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY!! If UGA is successful at doing that again and controlling the ball on offense, Urban Meyer will indeed stay true to his infamous new “nick-name” on this blog……….Urban Cry-er!!

Ooooo! Knowshon! He’s my personal deity! (I still laugh at his silly name)

Rushing Offense: UF Ranks 21st in the league with only 7 games played while Georgia ranks 39th with 8 games played.

Florida: Average yards per carry: 19 -7 games played. Georgia: Average yards per carry: 17 -8 games played.

So, with regards to Georgia’s massive, throbbing, manly rushing attack: Whatever.

You should be touting your passing attack which far outclasses Florida’s but then, nobody ever accused the average Georgian of being a genius.

Wow, do you inbred hayseeds even watch football on saturdays other than your beloved dogs? “Florida cant stop the run”, “LSU has a better defense than florida”, blah blah blah… the reality is Florida leads the SEC in Scoring offense (by about 8 points) and Scoring defense. Second in rushing offense, 3rd in rushing defense, #1 in passing eff., #1 in Pass Eff Defense, 1 in turnover margin, 1 in redzone offense, 2 in redzone defense. Once again, bulldog fans are oozing unsubstantiated confidence in a team that hasnt accomplished anything relevant in almost 30 years.

To the girl (I hope it was a girl instead of someone that knows about football) that posted that UGA was “predictable” because with 5 minutes left in the game all they did was run up the middle. In football if you have a 14 point lead, and not much time left you “milk the clock” by running instead of passing where 1)incompletion stops the clock, 2) intercepted and give the ball back to them. The safest hand off is one up the middle which lessons the chance of a fumble.

“If I’m Georgia, I’d be worried about next weeks game. This is not the same LSU team from last year, the Tigers are rebuilding and it took some big plays for the Dawgs to pull away. Those plays won’t be there next Saturday. This Gator team is motivated and can smell another national championship. Georgia had spells where they went flat, do that Saturday and you Dawgs lose!”

vuduchld as you call youself, I would have to say you haven’t watched very many football games because most games are up and down that way. One team will be playing great then for no apparent reason will play flat for a series or two. The object is to be consistently good on offense, defense and special teams throughout the game. To base your opinion that Florida will win because Georgia had spells where they were flat in Saturday’s game is not being objective because if my memory serves me right. Florida jumped out to a fast lead on LSU as well but by halftime LSU had come back and looked like they would be able to hang with the Gators. Just like with the Dawgs but we all saw that both FL and GA were never really in danger of losing to LSU. I expect next Saturday will be a very close and hard fought game by both teams with the team getting the most breaks winning. As for me I hope it is my beloved Dawgs that win.

I love the way all these Gator fans keep saying LSU had so and so yards on us. So what??? They were a desperate football team constantly playing from behind. I don’t give a F if we gave up 1000 yards. We scored 52 on them in their stadium, which is one more point than UF scored on them in Gainesville. I do love the irony. Oh, and LSU does have athletes. I expect the defending national champs to get some yards/points in their own stadium. The bottom line is this: that game was never seriously in doubt. It just wasn’t.

In all seriousness, neither team should “fear” the other. That’s just silly. Both teams look good and are very talented. It should be a hell of a game.

And to “Bama 41 - UGAy 30: “Our d is horrible?” Funny, we’re a hell of a lot better against the run than YOU are. Yes, we do give up pass yards sometimes. But you’ve played one decent QB and that was Jevan Snead. How did that work out???

Yes, than Bama loss was ugly. No doubting that. But I’d much rather have an 11 point loss to the #2 team in the country than to an AVERAGE Ole Miss team. And you know what? The BCS agrees. That’s why UGA is ahead of Florida.

Can’t wait for this weekend. This week of trash-talking will be fun.

Who cares about 18 years ago? I care about our last game, which we won. I care about the BCS, which were higher in, and I care about this weekend’s game. That’s all that matters to me.

I just want Florida to be so focused on “revenge” for that celebration. It’s all I’m hearing from UF fans. Funny how that happened in the beginning of the game and you could do NOTHING for 60 minutes to fix it, even when we kicked off from our own 5 yard line because of the TWO flags that were called on that play. It absolutely was excessive celebration and we were flagged accordingly. Get over it.

You know, the techies and fans of other schools come here and call UGA classless. I live in Alabama, a place I call the left armpit of the USA, and these bama fans are some of the most obnoxious there are. They come on these blogs and act as if their win was somehow reflective of how poor a team UGA is today. Bama caught UGA when our lines, decimated by injuries, had not gelled. You moron bama fans can think what you want…but I wouldn’t be so cocky about that UGA win. UGA is the ONLY team of any talent you’ve beaten. You’ve struggled against lesser teams. And you seem to have a let down in the second half of EVERY game.

Bama fans…you are classless. I know you won’t be on this blog if UGA should beat your team in the SECC. You are only here hoping to feel superior. That is tough when you root for a team from the armpit of the USA.

Obviously that “class of the SEC” line has ruffled a few Alabama feathers, but let me note the first part of that sentence: “When Georgia plays the way it did [in Baton Rouge] … ” Obviously Georgia hadn’t played that way until it got to Baton Rouge.

Just as obviously, Alabama destroyed Georgia the first time around. No excuses, no sugar-coating. I was there, and it wasn’t nearly as close as the final score. But if you’re asking me today which team, playing at peak capacity in the Georgia Dome, would win the SEC championship, I’d say Georgia.

Feel free to disagree. That’s what this little exercise is all about.

Demps 5’8” 176#. Ranked #10 in SEC.

Rainey 5’9” 185#. Ranked #12 RB in SEC.

Should also be interesting to see how your short corners match up against UGA’s 6’ plus receivers. AJ, MoMass, K. Harris, Moore, Demiko, Durham are all 6’2” or more. They go up and make plays. It’s what they do.

I’m going to be practical. I am a UGA fan, but most important I am a fan of the SEC. Yes both UGA and UF are firing on all cylinders. Georgia may have played their most complete game the past Saturday and Flordia, well, it was Kentucky. The point is, regardless of who wins this Saturday, that team will mostly likely win the East (If that team doesn’t have a complete melt down), will probably win the SEC Championship (because Alabama has played well since the Georgia game) and will probably play Texas in the National title game.

It might be Florida, it might be Georgia. No matter who it is, I will root for them, because that team will prove to the world that the SEC is and will always be the toughest conference in the Nation.

That’s fine that your team rushing is 21 in the nation and our’s is 39. Our offense is balanced. Therefore, you cannot single in on stopping one aspect of our game. Our run can set up the pass or our pass can set up the run.

Georgia has no heart. Alabama proved that and Florida will merely re-emphasize it to the rest of the nation that seems to of forgot.

Giving up 41 and 38 points to two lackluster offenses like Alabama and LSU is proof enough to me that Georgia’s D has no chance(zip, zero, nada) of keeping Florida under 50 points in this one. Demps, Rainey and Harvin will run roughshod on one of the weakest defenses the SEC has to offer this Saturday. Hell, even the former #1 defense in the SEC couldn’t keep Florida under 60 points. And Florida did that without breaking a sweat.

Nobody is playing better football the last three weeks than Florida. Nobody. Not Texas, not Penn State, not Georgia, not USC, etc. And nobody is as talented as Florida, USC is a distant second. Florida has world class speed and national championship caliber coaching. Georgia does not. Get the picture?

Georgia won last year, great. Michigan beat Florida last season too. Be proud you beat Florida in a rebuilding year, it’s all you get. Even a Gator can throw a dog a bone once in a while.

Oh, I can read, BE#3. I was lucky to get out of Georgia before my 5th birthday.

As for your ‘balanced offense’, I seriously doubt that the gators will be throwing three idiotic INT’s like LSU did. If I remember correctly, the gators are a little better than the team that put 38 up on your pups yesterday.

They most certainly haven’t been embarrassed by anything like Bama did to you. That game was embarrassing to watch, because I actually felt sorry for the butt-sniffers. If Bama wasn’t packing early to go home, that loss would have been EPIC.

Everyone knows that the dawg’s bark is worse than their bites, and it’s hilarious to hear certain members of the dawg squad barking already.

Anyone that watched the UGA LSU Game knows UGA did not dominate, and the game was still in question with three minutes to go in the game. I would not call that a blowout. I am guessing by your article you did not watch the game. UGA did win in a tough place to play but they did not dominate, and they did not set any records. I am curious to see how they match up with UF this year, if i remember correctly Harvin and Tebow were both hurt last year but are healthy this year. It should be a good cocktail party to watch. SEC Football sure is FUN.

Hey, fans. Tim Tebow here. I have read many of the comments and all I have to say is just please stop. There is way too much pressure in SEC football and way too much pressure on me these days. I will truthfully tell you that I have cried many more tears than I did last year. I cry all of the time!! Did you see me after the Ole Miss game? I cried. Yeah, I cried big time. I guess…well, I guess I’m just sensitive or something but I just cry when things don’t go my way. So does Urban…..you know, my coach. If it doesn’t go “Urban’s Way” then there will be tears flowing. But hey - we don’t mind down here in Gayturd Land because we can look at a sunset and cry on any day. We can put on a pair of jorts (jean shorts to you non-UF fans) and cry if they don’t fit just right. We cry over pretty much everything down here in Gainesville. Yes, UGA made me cry last year but I’m looking to get even next month. If not, Coach Meyer and I will be crying croc tears together. You know, Coach Crier leaves me in many games even when we have it well in the bag. I tell Urban that the game is already over but he just yells at me some more and tells me to keep on scoring. That makes me start to cry because you all know that I am a crier. I like to think that Coach Crier wants to beef up my HT resume but my parents tell me that he does it just to boost UF’s ratings. I don’t really know what to think and that makes me cry even harder. I cannot honestly think of one morning when I have awoke to a dry pillow. But I’m a crier and so is my coach so I guess that’s that. I just wish that I could stop crying for a while. I cry all of the time.

Timmy Tebow, cut it out!!! Stand up to your coach and just man up, boy!! Good night, man….you sound pathetic!! I know that you cry a lot but just shake it off and focus on the football game this coming weekend. Forget about Ole Miss - they just got lucky against us. Now you dry your eyes and practice real hard and make the Gator Nation proud on Saturday. We will be there to cheer and support our great Gator team. Tell CUM (pardon the pun) to get out of your dorm room and back to his home or you’ll call the campus police. Do it now!!!!!

Bradley keep up the great headlines. I am sure Coach Meyer will use some of these great lines as bulletin material for the players. To say UGA is playing better than UF now is outright silly and yes you are doing your job to stir up controversy. Well on second thought does Meyer and the gator players even know Mark Bradley? I doubt it will make it into their locker room. Timmy Tebow living in UGA- did you cry with Richt in church today along with all of the other rednecks? Oh and those tooth extractions must really hurt. Most UGA fans like Vol fans are toothless once they reach age 30.

BE#3, I tried but it’s too late. Urban is moving into my dorm room against my best judgment. Urban says it’s for the good of the Gator team so I just have to go along. Urban is blaming the Ole Miss loss on me so I have a lot of guilt. Yeah, I have some issues but I think we can beat UGA on Saturday. I have to go now…..I feel a long, hard cry coming on. Puppies, you have NO IDEA the pain coming your way on Saturday. You think your team is playing well? We dominated LSU to the point of them doubting themselves. You went to their house and edged a distracted Tiger team by 14. Sure, you scored a bunch of points, but you gave up a bunch too. And, unlike you, the MIGHTY GATORS can play some defense.

Oh, you’ll get a few points, you aren’t KENTUCKY, but while you get 24, UF is going to lay half a hunny on you.

But you should be used to that. 15 out of 18 becomes 16 out of 19 this Saturday.

Looking forwaed to passing you for all-times series record. We’ll do it by 2019.

georgia fans fascinate me. they have beaten florida three times since ‘90 and essentially won a few sec titles. and yet, they act as is they are somehow in the discussion as a premier team. win a national title and then we’ll talk. and hey, i think georgia is a talented team w/ excellent players, but they have no hardware to speak of, no titles to show true success. if they beat florida, which would be the first time they’ve won back2back in ages, then we’ll talk. and even then, uga must win the national title to really take a seat at the big boys table. until then, it’s all talk and nonsense.

Keep talking smack UGAG clowns. Keep talking smack. UGA has a good team , no doubt. What’s funny in all this is that you are blind to what the other school is doing. Completely blind. I can’t wait to see Bradley’s column next week. He shouldn’t be writing this column, he should be posting bunk on this message board with all you other swell headed fools. Keep talking smack. Uf has beaten you down in more ways than you can count for the better part of 2 decades now. You matched up last year against a hurt Tebow, and a fumbly Moore, and you had a bye week. UK was essentially a bye week for uf as it was nothing more than a glorified scrimmage. So that basically gave UF TWO bye weeks. You idiots have no idea what is coming your way. Go look at what Uf did to UK’s top ranked SEC defense. No matter what direction you look, you’ll see speed that is FASTER than your speed. Keep talking smack. UF’s O line is playing excellent and the entire offense is blocking for teammates as well as any team in the country. Keep talking smack. After Uf humbles you, you’ll still talk shyte. That’s what dumb football fans do. Keep talking smack.

Tim Tebow this, Percy Harvin that, Florida’s defense this. The gator stomp last year. Who cares? UF relies on 2 or 3 people on the team to win them the game. I thought this was a team sport. So what if Percy Harvin is a 100 percent. I only got to watch 1 Florida game so far and that was against Tennesse. Wasn’t real impressive.

All this talk about Florida’s defense. This is the same defense that let Ole Miss win. So all of a sudden you beat LSU and blow out an rebuilding Kentucky team and nobody can score on you? Talk about classless 63-5. What was Urban Crier trying to prove? Georgia might be the last real offense you see for the rest of the season and it’s not looking too good.

Georgia’s offense seem to be clicking and will be hard to stop(pending the O-line doesn’t breakdown). This game is a deep rivalry game. This game is no different than the ones that came before it. The same implications hold true(whoever wins this game wins the east and most likely will go to the National Championship). But let’s talk about that for a second.

Florida is tasting another Championship because they have the easiest route to get there. After UGA who do you play? A Vanderbilt team that got beat by Duke, a South Carolina team that still can’t put together a complete game, The Citadel (enough said) and a Florida St team with a suspect defense. With those games left, I’d be talking about a NC game too. I mean let’s face it after LSU, the excution you put on Kentucky and saturday’s game against UGA, you guys will need a break to whine, cry or whatever you guys do.

Both teams had their wake up calls UGA(Alabama), Florida (Ole Miss). Florida, if you need more motivation, GATOR STOMP!!!! It would be one thing if it happened in Gainsville. It happened on a (Still not so neutral football field), get over it.

Both teams are playing great football right now and this weekend will be a hell of a game. Save all the trash talking until after the game.

THAT DID NOT HAPPEN.

You are making up garbage, typical of what bulldawglosers do about the great Steve Spurrier. He did have the backups run their offense in the 4th quarter and achieve the objective of hanging 50 on the dawgs at home. I’ve heard so much uga-ly whining about running the score up. If he’d had the first team in…but he didn’t.

So if you want your story straight Barkin Mutt…Super Steve’s offense…run by the backup QB…scored two 4th quarter TD’s to hang 50+ on the mutts at home.

I sure hope that your classless coaches are not as ignorant about Florida as you are.

I can’t wait to see Georgia get this year’s version of “the stomp” handed out to them, because it would be a disgrace to my beloved team to have them get anywhere near to sniffing a championship game of any type, much less against my team.

The DAWGS really need to run up the score this week, to rub it in good. Hopefully, Richt has another trick he can pull like last year to get under their skin. They collapsed after that last year. Urban Cryer and UF fans keep talking about the celebration penalty last year. LOL!

You know…sometimes you can harp on something so much that it become motivation for the OTHER team. UGA is so SICK of hearing about it…hearing the real story behind it distorted by Urban Liar and a lot of idiotic fans and media…sick of stupid fans acting like it gives them the RIGHT to win this game. LOL. All you are doing is firing UGA up!

Let me join the chorus of those reminding the UF fans that you had a whole game to make us pay for that penalty. You had the very next series when we kicked off from like the ten yard line. What did you do then?

Poor little gators…got so rattled by UGA’s unsportsmanlike penalties that you just couldn’t run your vaunted offense for the remaining 3 and a half quarters. You defense was so afraid of UGA celebrating like that again that it just couldn’t concentrate. Is that what you are saying happened last year? If you couldn’t do something about it last year, why do you think you’re going to do it this year? Morons.

I love listening to Georgia fans saying “run up the score”, as if their team is capable of doing such a thing to Florida. How is their crappy defense going to allow for any margin to “run up the score”?

I didn’t mind Georgia and their fans until last year, when they insulted the game of college football by storming the field, possibly causing a brawl, that is, if the Florida team didn’t behave with dignity.

Now, the same rednecks are calling for a similar stunt. That’s classy. You must be proud… and stupid. Stupid because you’ll never see how that affected your chances to play in the National Championship game. It wasn’t that you didn’t win the SEC. You were probably the second best team in the nation anyway. It was because a whole bunch of people didn’t want trailer trash in the premier bowl game of 2007.

You beat the Florida Gators last year, and you really didn’t need a reform school stunt like that to do it, so basically, you crapped where you ate with your idiocy.

This year, you don’t stand a chance. Most of the country will see your stupid, stupid, unsportsmanlike, dangerous, and disrespectful actions towards the game of college football played over and over this week, and they’re going to love watching you get STOMPED.

You don’t deserve to be in a rematch against Alabama, and you certainly don’t deserve to occupy the same field with my Longhorns or any other classy team in the NCAA.

Is that all you Gator fans can do is remember the good times when the Ole Ball Coach was your leader? DAMN…that was almost a decade ago now. To bad you can look back and brag about what happened last year. The tide is changing now you Gator fans and the dawgs are now taking back what is rightfully ours. (The SEC East) Maybe Steve can pay a visit to Urban Cryer and teach him how to have a winning team and he might be able to find a quarterback that does not get owned by a line judge that used to play football at UK. What a joke. I guess your great quarterback will have to call another press conference after the loss next week and whine again about how hard he will play for the rest of year. What a freaking p*y.

The only way that your team will ever get an street credit for winning the National Championship is by playing a team from the SEC and no some PAC 10, BIG 10 or some other mid or low grade conference that is only undefeated because their schedule consist of not much more than Georgia Southern University type teams at best. You better stop concerning yourself with the Bulldog fans and start focusing on the beating that Texas Tech is going to put on the Longhorns next week.

By Dave

Once again, Georgia players show their lack of class by dancing on LSU’s field and Richt tolerates it. I expect nothing less. But FWIW, Florida will win the game, kneel down at midfield with UGa players, pray, and walk off the field without feeling the need to taunt.

By Longhorn Leghorn

October 27, 2008 11:39 AM | Link to this

What if the Florida squad hadn’t acted with maturity, restraint, and respect for their school and the institution of college football, started swinging at the redneck Georgia players, and contributed to a brawl? What if a liquored up fan or fans stormed the field, as has happened in the past? How would the authorities stop a brawl or riot once it started?

The Florida players were stunned because nobody, including the vast majority of stable, sane, Americans would have believed that a coach would allow his team to pull such a lowlife, classless, dangerous stunt, but they outclassed Georgians by maintaining their composure and getting away from the jailhouse riot.

No player on the Georgia team or any of the coaches, deserves to even sniff a championship of any kind, because they’re careless idiots.

Richt loved what his team did, and probably condoned it, but changed his story like an eight year old after he realized that most of the adult world recognised how dangerous his infantile stunt was.

I’d love for my team to play SEC teams, but not against Georgia, because nobody wants to deal with wondering what unstable obnoxious dangerous idiotic stunts they’ll come up with next.

You act as though this as you call it “Classless Act” happened yesterday, this past weekend or even this season. I do agree that what happened was not legal and guess what we got penalized 15 yards for it. If excessive celebration is the worst thing or the most classless act that happens during a NCAA football game then I think we should all be thankful. The Gator fans and Urban Cryer have been talking about this ever since it happened and all I can say is get the f**k over it. Even Timmy Teabow came out and said that he disagreed with it but saw that it pumped up the team. DO not get me wrong I do not in any way suggest that the team does anything like this again but just get over it because it is in the past and the FL Gators had the entire game last year to remind of how “Classless” it was and get revenge. Lets see how “Classy” the Gators are next week. If you are look for trailer trash you need not look any father than the denium shorts and appreance of the Gator Fans in Jacksonville.

It is so incredibly hypocritical to hear all these Florida fans talk about how they and the Gator tean and coach so full of “class.” WTF are you inbreds talking about? The Florida Gators and Urban Meyer run up the score on teams, do the obnoxious Gator Chomp is the face of players and fans, and on and on.

UGAy is in for a huge suprise come Saturday baby!!!! You won’t have seen fire out of a Gator team like this since, well the LSU beating. I love how Bradley somehow tells us that a 14 point away win is so much better than a 30 point home win. This guy is trying to reassure himself. He’s scared.

The arrogance of Georgia never has surprised me. Most people that claim to be GA fans don’t even like football. I live in Columbus, Georgia and it has been fun to watch all the new ga fans emerge. I would trade limbs to be able to beat GA.

What a classless act for them to pull. Take another lesson from Alabama, georgia fans. ” Act like you’ve been there before” .

I guess that’s difficult considering the lack of championships or even winning seasons since 1980.

I may not like UGA, but Coach Richt is Bear Bryant when compared to Les Miles. Meyer and the Gators will be just as fired up as Richt had the Dawgs last year. I hate UGA, but love SEC football and the Gators. 15-3 over the past 18 with that 50+ plus pt crushing in Athens. Dawgs did win the “Dancing with the Stars” competition and best supporting cast for “Dressed in Black for their Own Funeral” (I think Bama won for best lead in that one). We’ll see on Saturday, but something tells me these Gators are laying in wait to gnaw on your Dawgs! Go Gators!

I just finished watching one of ESPN’s talk shows a few moments ago, and they were already picking Florida defeating Alabama in the SEC championship game in Atlanta and playing for the national championship. Nothing was mentioned of this weekends game in Jacksonville. I guess based on what ESPN is saying, maybe the dawgs should just not show up cause we don’t stand a snowball-in-hell’s chance of winning. It seems old Lou Holtz’s hatred of Georgia has rubbed off on that sports station’s attitude.

You beat LSU by 14. We beat them by 30. Not too impressive. Oh yeah, the “evil genius” Spurrier, hung 59 on the board one night in Baton Rouge. 1996. Look it up. And dance in the endzone over an over rated win. Go ahead; dance.

Barkin Dawg…is a liar…

Let us not forget what the ole ball coach Steve Spurrier did to us in Athens! Called a time out and kicked a field goal with a minute to go so he could say that his team scored 50+ points on us at home. You want to talk about class? Please!!!!!!!!!!

THAT DID NOT HAPPEN.

It did happen but it wasn’t a FG

You are making up garbage, typical of what bulldawglosers do about the great Steve Spurrier. He did have the backups run their offense in the 4th quarter and achieve the objective of hanging 50 on the dawgs at home. I’ve heard so much uga-ly whining about running the score up. If he’d had the first team in…but he didn’t.

So if you want your story straight Barkin Mutt…Super Steve’s offense…run by the backup QB…scored two 4th quarter TD’s to hang 50+ on the mutts at home.

Spurrier run a reverse with less than three minutes left in the game, with the game well in hand to run up the score. You GATORS DON’T THINK WE DON’T REMEMBER THAT. I guess that was good times for you Gators. To bad we didin’t have Richt back then instead of Goff and Donnan.Richt has a great record against Spurrier as the PLAY CALLING OC AT FSU. Spurrier jumped at the Florida job after Dooley retired to catch Georgia in a transitional state.

Longhorn Moron,

You are so funny. Florida fan morons are fun to watch.

You’ve said such ridiculous things here, I don’t know where to start to tackle your silly little arguments.

First, UGA owns the series against UF. We can look back 13 years or 18 years and 60 years. Nothing changes the series record. By your stupid logic, then we can just look back to the Urban Cryer years. How many times has Cryer’s teams beat UGA?

Second, you are the pot calling the kettle black. You talk about class, and then you set the standard for classlessness. You ignore the facts around the celebration penalty. CMR told the story and you choose to ignore it. You follow a coach who has proven time and time again both with Utah and UF that he is a liar and cheat. He does run up scores on teams. He takes advantage of Timmy, risking his career by playing him as a running back and qb. You come here spouting off about UGA fans, and you act worse than those you criticize.

In relation to the celebration…there is a big difference between taunting and celebrating with teammates. That team was punished. This is a new year with new players. According to your moronic position, UGA will have to pay for that one act of exhuberance on the part of some kids from now until eternity. Come on idiot.

The bottom line is that you are here because you enjoy arguing. You like to upset UGA fans. At least stop pretending and admit what you are. Moron.

I think it is hillarious how short FL fan’s memory is, apparantly they don’t remember when both teams in the FL-FSU game would storm on to the opposing team’s 50 yd line before the game started for years drawing unsportsmanlike conduct penalties before the first snap. And they are still all offended about UGA celebrating a touchdown in a “neutral” site’s endzone. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black, like they always say after a quarter of getting hit in the mouth it’s back to good old fashion football.

Face it: florida is a 2 man team with tebow and harvin, and harvin gets hurt easily. Tebow will be sacked and shut down like last year and harvin will not be factor. The dawgs have weapons all over the field and have the best QB and RB in the nation. I look for a pretty easy win, with UGA rolling up some big points. In fact, this game could get ugly early if the dawgs get a couple of pick-6’s like against LSU. UGA 44 Fla 20—-mark it down! I’ll be partying all night long at the clubs in Jax baby after that blowout win. Dawgs party hard!

44-20 Lol. Georgia’s defense is like a sieve, and everyone but the mutts know it.

Meyer has beaten UGA more than UGA has beaten him. Math. What a concept.

Who cares what happened in the stone age? LOL! Since EVERYBODY on your TEAM was BORN it’s 15-18. Let’s ask the 80 year-olds how it feels to live out that streak. Pppppptttt! Lol! Your lead was built before the world wars. Heck, I’m not a gator nor a dawg, and I know that.

Maybe you should brag about the Georgians discovering fire. That happened in the last 18 years, right? LOL!

It’s 15-18 since the players on this team were born, and the 3 wins that you had were accompanied by dawgs barking “we’re back”. LOL! Right. Look how that turned out.

Your defense was punked out, drawers-to-the-ankles and bent over by LSU, and LSU’s defense was overrated, as EVERYONE could see. That makes for much puppy leg-humping antics, but in reality, it sets you up for a newspaper to the butt and a trip to the dawg house.

Florida’s offense and defense are light-years ahead of LSU’s, and probably an astronomical unit at least ahead of yours. Instead of being humble and hoping that lightning strikes twice, your players and fans are running their mouths, and the rest of the country is looking at you like the drunken uncle who has no idea what he’s babbling about.

Stick to idiotic, dangerous, endzone celebrations, “dawgs”. At least you can pack an endzone with dancers. At least you can imagine your opponents whining about your silly, amateurish, taunts, even though they have a gag order in place. You’re the only ones hearing the whining I suppose. It must be your super-dawg sense of hearing. Way to pump yourselves up! AHhahaha! …and comparing the idiotic stomping on a logo at the middle of the field, BEFORE the game, in stadiums that were partisan, to a stupid antic DURING the game, with a 50/50 composition of fans from BOTH sides, who could have easily rioted, is feeble minded at best, and you got what you deserved for it: NO CONSIDERATION in the BCS Championship voting.

Georgia was the laughing stock of the NCAA last year for that childish stunt, and it cost them ANY consideration of going to the Championship game, even though they were arguably the 2nd best team in the nation. WHAT FREAKIN MAROONS you people were, and you’re incapable of seeing it.

What’s really funny is that three different Florida coaches have owned you in the last 18 years. You didn’t even catch a break with Zook.

You are a journalist, so I’m sure that you’re well-grounded in facts, right?

Sorry if you’ve posted all of those incidents or mentioned them on the radio. I obviously missed that.

Your argument about the “stone age” is about as childish as calling someone gay.” Grow up. When you start talking about records and pull out 15 of 18, anyone can look back as far or as near as they want. You are only as good as your LAST game. UGA DOMINATED UF last year. The poor little gators have cried about it ever since. Apparently, they were not man enough to overcome a celebration penalty that put UGA in a hole. Apparently, you are not man enough either. You have a very unhealty fixation on that. You are just jealous Urban Cryer didn’t think of it first. Your childish rants are nothing more than mildly amusing diversion. What you say on the celebration is old news and as far as I’m concerned…keep it up. It only motivates UGA now.

Little boy…grow up. You are boring all of us.

Hey, if that’s what you want to brag about, by all means, go ahead. That’s not going to change on Saturday.

Oh, and “the celebration” is “old news” to you? Well, so are your glory days, then. As for the rest of your post, it’s a joke. Florida, and most certainly Texas, wouldn’t engage in such a “celebration”, because they/we act like they’ve been there before.

Sop pretending. If you are old enough to remember the 1980 championship, then you must be an intellectual lightweight. If you can’t read and comprehend the story of how that celebration actually happened, you must be functioning at the level of a 12 year old. You guys have harped about something that the coach and players have apologized about. Yes, it is old news. Maybe not to the crybaby little gators, but to the rest of the world it is.

Yawn. If UGA wins Saturday, at least we will shut up the likes of you. If we don’t win, we’ll just keep reminding you that you are still a moron.

Longhorn/Fleabag,

Let me add one more thing…in regard to “glory days”…I don’t live vicariously through the exploits of a football team as you do. UGA fans don’t need to gain validation for anything from idiots like you. UGA owns the series and while the series has had its ups and downs for both teams, the tide always turns. UF has been on top…they will be on the bottom too. So I can understand why you whine about celebrations and about recent records…you are afraid of what is to come. It is hilarious to see you masquerade as two different people and to hear your childish rants.

I don’t know who fleabag is, and I don’t know why he took personal offense at what you said to me, but I’ll give him props anyway, and I have no problem with you thinking that we’re the same person. I see no tactical reason why having two handles would be worthwhile. I see no reason why it would be bad either. I don’t see anything harmful in you thinking that either, so enjoy whatever you get out of that perception.

I just put a huge bet on Florida beating the spread. I am not the least bit worried about Florida handling the bulldogs. In fact, the spread should be about 10 in my opinion. If the bulldogs are demoralized early, it could be a blowout.

I for one (or two if that makes you feel good), am going to enjoy watching the bulldogs get rolled while counting my winnings, while you, on the other hand, will probably be blaming the officials for bad calls or something.

I guess we can agree on one thing. If UGA is demoralized early, it could be a long game for them. With that said, if UGA’s running game is effective, they will win the game hands down. UGA’s ball control offense is the answer to the spread…if they execute the way they have in the couple of games, they will win.

I’ll tell you what…I’ll be here blogging whether UGA wins or loses. Will you be here if UF loses?

well well well, 49-10 just shows who the real class of the SEC is. uga is, once again, our B**ch. that is 16 of the last 19 and in dramatic fashion. nothing to say, period and done.

ps- if uga wants to go back and crow about the first 7 games from 1906 to 1913 when we were basically a club team, much less the 10 games of the 40s when we played subs as our MEN were off to war or just getting back to bark about being up 9 games in the series, so be it. The last 58 years have been OURS. We lead since 1950, not 1990 or even 1980, but 1950. Now since 1990 it is rediculous 16-3. Give us another ten years and we will move ahead as is.

uga, you suck flea bites, we rule - continue to get used to it.

Could you have been more wrong? I imagine were there a country of Wrong you would be their king. If UGA is the class of the conference the SEC on a par with the MAC.

Richt made a grievous error in orchestrating that celebration last year. Not only did it provide increased motivation for this year’s game, it will be a motivational tool for Urban Meyer to use for a s long as Mark Richt coaches at Georgia. He managed to elevate Meyer’s dislike of the Dawgs to Spurrier levels and we all know how well that went for the Dawgs. That embarrassing spectacle won the battle of 07, but it may well have lost the war for the foreseeable future. He’s now managed to rack up a losing record to three different Florida coaches.

Wow, this guy knows his football. I’m sure Urban Meyer is terrified after reading Mark Bradley. I wonder what the Seniors had up their sleeves? They could have showed everyone if they only would have showed up.

Too bad Stafford is going to go pro, Tebow is going to stay, and you get to watch us hang 60 next year. Don’t worry, Florida fans want Stafford to stay, what a bum.

Great article Mark….49-10 and the lone TD for the dawgs was in trash time for all of the walkons from Florida to be on the field, heck even our Florida fans cheered for ya, what’s hilarious is that they were the only ones left in the stands….Where are ya dawg fans….LOL What is that now 16 out of 19, heck that’s not much difference than the 23-0 run we have on UK. LOL

Superb article Bradley! From a “classless” Gator, congrats on the lone TD you got off our 2nd. Where was your little end zone jig Saturday? HAHA! I Love Mark Richt! He managed to create a motivation for Florida like no other for as long as he coaches. Great job!

AJC readers should know by now that Mr Bradley placates the local UGa faithful just to be their cheerleader. It’s actually a fairly common practice in college sports-journalism. How much readership would he actually get if he didn’t try to pump up the Dawgs every year. That’s his bag. To simply blow smoke directly up the hind-quarter of DawgNation.

The one thing you should NOT count on from this ‘writer’ is a true or fair gauge of where UGa football is at a program. You will only get what you want to hear—not the truth or even the accuracy of a real sportswriter ie Tony Barnhardt. It is sad that we a stuck with this guy while AJC let’s the REAL talent leave :(

So has Moreno filed rape charges against Spikes yet. Last time I looked Spikes threw the poor little guy on his back and was wiggling on top of him?

I also think those time outs were totally classless. Just kidding, they were funny as hel.

I bet there were lots of wives with black eyes come Sunday morning in the fine state of Jorja.

Mr. Bradley doesn’t understand. The Gators allow the Puppies to win periodically so they’ll keep coming back for their annual beating. By the way all you Dawgs fans who had something to say in this forum, just wondering, do your words taste like dog meat or dog s**t?
