Terrible news.
A quick note to anyone who comments on these blogs…
the longer your post is, the fewer people actually read it.

G-d bless President Bush. Thanks to him our nation has not suffered a major terror attack at home since 911. Thanks to President Bush’s assertive and aggressive leadership, unlike all that came before him, he hit back when we were attacked and put the terrorists on the run so that tonight OBL will likely eat larvae from a mud puddle. Only the most jaundiced and anti-American among us refuse to acknowledge President Bush’s success in keeping us safe and alive.
On another front, could it be that the single difference between the Mumbai terrorists and PEOTUS’s seld-described family friend, Billy Ayres, is that the Mumbai crew plans better?

Brace yourself!
…….. and do you realize just how easy it would be to do that on a much larger scale here at schools, malls or churches?
The only thing preventing it is good intelligence which means stopping it before it even gets to this country - and you know what I mean - termination with extreme prejudice.
Bush had his faults but I felt fairly safe from that type of terrorist effort. Once this new administration is in with all of their political correctness on how to treat terrorists ………. well, we will see won’t we?

Thanks for your info. on the other blog re: December 1st. What will be will be based on what the SCOTUS does and that’s it.
You are good at research so help me with this one. I think every President has his birth/1st childhood home (log cabin in Illinois, farm house in Plains, Georgia, etc.) as a national monument run by the U.S. Park Service.
Where will Obama’s birth/1st* childhood home be? What is the *address in Hawaii?

Your statement that, “If you believe that crap about bush keeping us safe, I have some beach front property in Cartersville I’d like to sell you.” confirms the truth. We all know that there is no beach front property in Cartersville, but your scurrillous representation just confirms how readily a BDS addled liberal will abandon all that is true to attack President Bush. You, and those like you, are a disgrace that you will not give the man his due.
Let’s hope PEOTUS does as well as President Bush, if not it will be a tragedy.

Pondering the Mumbai situation…
The “multiple locations” attacks and synchronization sounds like al queda. Why would they choose Mumbai?
India isn’t a Muslim country, for one. Westerners in south Mumbai, business people. A soft target.
And the hostage reports… The terrorists are probably “bombed up.”
If it’s al queda, I’ll bet there’s an economic sabotage angle. Let’s see how the markets do in the next 24 hours.

They are reporting that some of the bad guys appear to have been speaking Hindu. Also that small arms and hand grenades, small groups and no suicide vests - does not match normal al Queda tactics. We’ll find out what flavor “insert-religious-sect-here” facist soon enough I imagine.
We have two choices here.
We can bicker amongst ourselves. We liberals swearing Bush was asleep at the wheel in August and September of 2001. You conservatives swearing he did all he could and pointing out there has not been a repeat. The truth of the matter will take time. We need the truth and we’ll get it.
OR
We can stand together like we did the morning of September 11, 2001 and say in one loud voice that terrorism is evil. No matter where on our planet it occurs, it is evil. As a nation we hope and pray for the safety of the people of Mumbai and offer what help we can.
The corporal is right up there ^, it can happen anywhere, anytime. Mr. G and I were at the world’s largest cocktail party in 2001 and our entire group talked seriously about what a target a 150,000 drunken football partisans would be.
In the years since, we have put effort into our own family emergency plans. Recently adding a financial emergency plan as well. The Godzillas don’t live in fear. (we also know when scared s** is the correct response!)
Mr. G is in Asia….he’s two or three time zones away from this situation. He’s probably still hitting the snooze button.

‘After numerous rounds of ‘We don’t even know if Osama is still alive’, Barrack Hussein Obama has now been telling everyone he will capture Osama Bin Laden when elected.’
So, Osama himself decided to send Barrack Hussein Obama a letter in his own handwriting to let him know he was still in the game. Obama opened the letter and it contained a single line of coded message: 370H-SSV-0773H
Obama was baffled, so he e-mailed it to Howard Dean.
Dean and the DNC and his aides had no clue either, so they sent it to Joe Biden. Joe Biden could not solve so it was sent to the FBI and the CIA.
Eventually they asked John McCain and his Staff to look at it. And within a few minutes McCain’s Staff e-mailed Obama with this reply: ‘Tell Obama he’s holding the message upside down’

All of this partisan bickering will disappear, Bookman will turn into a journalist and Trash will all of a sudden, be proud to be an American. Midori will learn to appreciate all of the military protection that she/he has been afforded for the last 6 years or so and perhaps Dusty will have been very prophetic. It is just a matter of time. Let’s hope that Buckwheat can rise to the task at hand and walk the walk. If he stumbles and falls, all of America will be watching and loading up the second clip.

As you sit tomorrow with friends and family and give thanks that America hasn’t become a hellhole, um, yet, and although the chances of this happening now are a hell of alot better than they were last year, be sure to remember that we still have our freedoms, at least for the next few weeks anyway, so be thankful for that, it could be worse and surely will be.
If you and yours should fall into great despair when pondering such thoughts, keep in mind that at least you aren’t liberals, dull and stupid creatures much like the bird that you are fixin to eat, tell me, did the democrats all not feel common suffering together with the moron birds being slaughtered in the shadow of thee hot stuff, Sarah Palin?
So yes, America, it tis bad, much worse than it has ever been, they brainwashed the younguns and turned them against common sense and decency, but there is still hope, even the most stunted and demented liberals will realize when they have been lined up outside the slaughterhouse, and hopefully, they will do more than just squawk as they get stuffed into the processor.

Greg,
Not to sidetrack your “thrilling” exchange with Cal or your “brilliant” analysis of population makeups, but your notion that a 12 or 13% population portion is insignificant is ridiculous even if one is to believe your even more absurd extrapolation that the 12 or 13% are of one mind just because they share some other characteristic.
Let’s say there were 100 people aboard an airliner that left Boston for LA and 5 of them decided to take over the plane and fly it into a building containing a few thousand other folks. The population of troublemakers on the plane is only 5% and shrinks into an absurdly small number when you factor in the building inhabitants.

RW-(the original):
Way up this thread I guessed that an al queda attack might be more effective in a non-Muslim country. Muslim fanatics seem to like terrorist attacks on western countries. Cal implied that India’s 12+% Muslim population made it a Muslim country. It isn’t. Look up the origin of Pakistan.
If the terrorists in Mumbai are Muslims — and we don’t yet know who they are — they may or may not be Indian Muslims, just like the Muslims who attacked us on 9/11 weren’t American citizens.
If there’s something wrong with my admitted conjecture, thrill me.

Regarding your post at 11:10, I’d be happy to respond, but I have no idea what you were talking about. I speculated that al queda, if they were responsible for the attacks, might find it advantageous to stage a terrorist attack in a non-Muslim country (i.e., NOT Saudia Arabia, for example). Cal seemed to suggest that India is a Muslim country. With a Muslim population of 12%, India is no more a Muslim country than France (9.6%).
