Don’t worry, be happy and turn off that damn TV
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Do you folks watch the Sunday morning talk shows? What’s your favorite?
Personally, I don’t watch and never have and doubt I ever will. Maybe it’s because I deal with this stuff so much already that watching on the weekend seems like doubling your heroin intake. Then again, I also don’t watch during the week. Bill O’Reilly, for example, will always say something within the first 30 seconds to make me change the channel, and I’ve yet to see Keith Olbermann in anything but a sportscasting role.
And then there’s this:
“Happy people spend more free hours socializing, reading and participating in religious activities, while unhappy people watch 30 percent more television, according to new research on American life.
In a study that is among the first to compare daily free-time activities with perceptions of personal contentment, researchers found that television hours were elevated for people who described themselves as “not too happy.” On average, the down-and-out reported an extra 5.6 hours of tube time a week, compared with their happiest counterparts.”

How can you be happy when you read the AJC every morning?
Domestic violence still a military problem-Urinal/PMS
You know, many of you have asked me why I think the Urinal hates our soldiers and propagandizes against them, well, this^^ is a perfect example.
The CDC said 23.6 percent of women and 11.5 percent of men reported being a victim of what it called “intimate partner violence” at some time in their lives.
The CDC defined this as threatened, attempted or completed physical or sexual violence or emotional abuse by a spouse, former spouse, current or former boyfriend or girlfriend or a dating partner. The CDC estimates that 1,200 women are killed and 2 million injured in domestic violence annually.-Reuters
The military domestic violence rate is lower than that of the general US population.
Now look at your headline again-
Domestic violence still a military problem
Go to hell, AJC.
Stop demeaning our brave soldiers.

No problem turning off the TV, Jay. But, nothing gets me more riled than the loss of my DSL. Can you just imagine trying to get all this highly sought after content via a 96k baud modem over a pulp cable pair, buried, no less, in the middle of a thunderstorm. I mean, you’re doing great to get 1200 baud under those conditions. It does make one wonder about certain things though. For example, would Andy even exist without high-speed Internet.

You know, many of you have asked me why I say the Urinal propagandizes on behalf of al Qaeda, well, sure enough, here you go-
The militant, Rashid Rauf, was among the five people killed in the attack by a remotely piloted aircraft in North Waziristan, close to the Afghan border, the officials said. He is perhaps the best-known of the figures killed in an American airstrike campaign there that has intensified since August and has caused increased strains between the United States and Pakistan.- Urinal/Jihad
I’d like to take this opportunity to assert that the libs in the NYTimes/AJC/OBlahma media aren’t even on America’s side anymore, if they ever were.
And you can’t deny it.

Taxpayer: Why is it always me?
Anyway, I’ve had DSL for ten years now and it saves me more money per month than I pay for it.
Check this out, no separate phone line necessary, that is a minus twenty bucks right there.
And the wealth of information at the fingertips, shopping for the lowest price without having to drive all over town?
Repair information for blowed up appliances?
This is like a no brainer.

For about a year I had a pretty good exposure to the sunday morning bobbleheads via Sam Seder’s sunday night show.
His team used to deconstruct the conservative-leaning nonsense being spun, first with his regular guest Bill Scher, and later with a panel of A-list bloggers.
Funny stuff. Good times.
Other than that, yeah. I almost never tune in. Better things to do—a nice hot breakfast with my family, getting ready for church, usually, and if I have a moment (like right now?) I’d rather just check the Intertubes to see what’s crackling.
Don’t need a weatherman to tell which way the wind blows. Or a corporate wh0re in a thousand-dollar suit.

Just say “No” to TV these days, except for football on Sundays, an American tradition. College football used to be entertaining, but this BCS crap has caused it to become show-off and shoot the wounded time such as yesterday Okla 65 - TTech 21, Fla 70 - Furman, who’s counting?
Sunday morning TV drivel has become the ‘media elite’ home to political slant and bias to the ultimate, no newsworthy value whatsoever.
The AJC print edition? Don’t make me choke on my own vomit. Print media will be essentially gone by the end of 2015, count on it, maybe sooner. Swill like the AJC, NY Times, LA Times, etc, etc, have invalidated their very existence by their non-stop political posturing and slant of news. They report no news. They have no clue what news is. Maybe once, but not now. Buh bye, print pukes. You have merrily dug your own graves. Rot in hell in them.

I see Bud has come out of his post- election catatonia.
I am enjoying a lovely novel at present. No I do not watch the Sunday Morning TV. If it was warmer, I would have been on my bike by now.

Andy, you have to ask why? Come on. Be honest with yourself. You spread your “wealth” around so much that you could literally be the embodiment of that entire Democrat party that you loathe so much.

On Sunday morning, there are some good news shows which fills the large voids left by newspapers and regular tv news. On Sunday, for locale affairs, the Georgia Gang is ok. Too much mindless conservative cheerleading and its only a shell of when Bill Shipp used to be there. Fox News at 9, Meet the Press at 10 and George Stephanopolous at 11 are good to see detailed responses to direct questioning.
The weekday news on Fox, and MSNBC is frustrating since the interviewers already have their minds made up. They ask a question, and as the reponder begins, they interupt them not allowing for their detailed answer to come out. They also spoon feed questions to support their causes. CNN is ok, but the best is PBS where they commit about 15 minutes to each major issue of the day. Then there is Charlie Rose who digs for details by asking thoughtful and intelligent follow ups.

GOP, no catatonia caused by any election for me. My hunting trip to Maine was a bust. Far more depressing than watching the dumbing down of America reaching its peak. Deep, heavy, late snows last year reduced the herd @60%, according to a Maine biologist my host knows. NO DEER.
Unfortunately, my ‘host’ did not relate that fact to me (acquired in April) until halfway through my stay. He knew, as well as I, that I would have never made the trip with my 2 friends, thus depriving him of revenue. Well, we paid, we left, and we shall be looking elsewhere in the future. So much for planning ahead by my former host.
But curiosity brings me to ask you this … how can you be enjoying a lovely novel and be on the internet simultaneously?
I ‘read’ (heard) two audio novels on my trip to/from Maine, on CD, courtesy of my wife as a birthday gift. First time I ever tried it, it was very enjoyable.

Meet the Depressed was pretty good when Russert was alive. He never asked follow up questions when some moonbat gave him a crazy answer, but at least he asked the questions. Brokaw might be asking good questions, but even the closed caption folks have no idea what he’s saying.
The Snufalufagus show is a laugh riot of blind political partisanship almost to the point of self parody. Of the big three the only memorable moment in the last few years was probably when Billy Jeff threw a vein popping fit of rage on Fox News Sunday, but you didn’t need to be watching to catch that one all over the tubes later.

Andy,
What brand LCD and have you had any problems with it?
I am leaning towards the 52 inch Samsung.
Your thoughts?

Best Sunday morning show…… Charles Osgood. Reported on the Heart Attack Cafe in Carlsbad. Serves a quadruple bypass burger, 8,000 calories, served by a waitress with cleavage to die for and a very briefly covered , well toned derriere. GOPs gone would appreciate this. You really don’t care whether you live or die.

So the question is …. does watching more TV make you unhappy? Or does being unhappy make you watch more TV? Hmmmm.
