I am still so elated about President-elect Obama. I’m on Cloud 9 and loving it.

I do worry about the nutjobs out there who could be planning to assassinate him, there are so many who hate him, and I am very concerned for his safety.

If people who are so upset that he won would just consider this: How would we white folks feel if the situation were reversed? We would be every bit as excited as African-Americans are, if not more so, to finally have a white President.

What I am not loving is everything that’s coming out now about Palin. McCain’s staff is really talking now that the election is over.

It is scary, people. We came so close, so very close, to having that nitwit in office, a heartbeat from the Presidency.

I get mad at McCain all over again, each time I think about what he tried to do to our beloved country.

I am so sick of hearing how gracious he was in his concession speech. He should have been down on the floor begging our forgiveness for setting Palin loose on us.

I have no sympathy for McCain whatsoever.

On a brighter note, I am so looking forward to January 20, 2009. It can’t come soon enough.

ABC, NBC and CBS ran a total of 69 stories on Palin. Two were deemed positive, 37 negative and 30 neutral. None of the evening news shows ran a positive story about Palin, nothing

Twenty-one stories portrayed Palin as unintelligent and unqualified, 14 characterized her as John McCain’s attack dog and nine emphasized attacks on Palin by conservatives.

Add in the Pew Research study shows about 70 percent of Americans feel the press favors Obama. And it is more than obvious who the media attacked the most during this election.

But of course, liberal bias doesn’t matter to liberal lap dogs, who can not see, and will never admit to the obviousness of the liberal biase within the MSM. Even though his dwindling viewers proves otherwise. Not that there’s a connection there or anything..

As you should know by know, REALITY has a well-known liberal bias. Palin was put in a position that she was well-unprepared for. It’s not her fault, so much as those who chose her.

The majority of the country knew what Sarah Palin was but the Republican Party tried to sell her as something else. We have only scratched the surface of this travesty that the GOP attempted to pull on the American people. And the amazing thing is that they are starting to try and sell this for 2012. Now that’s un-american!

I’m willing to bid on that red leather jacket…..

McCain, basically a decent guy, made a hasty choice in what was the most important choice a presidential candidate can make.

He did not think it through.

That is completely unacceptable in a President.

This new stuff coming out just makes the concept of her leadership in the GOP towards 2012 even more ridiculous.

By GMAN

The sad thing is that rather than McCain’s team extensively vetting Sarah they let the news media do it. And now RealityKing wants to blame the news media for vetting her and telling the country what they found. And Zach, Palin accepted a position that she wasn’t prepared for.

This is the second time, isn’t it, that you’ve used…(gasp)… Fox News as the background for a story unfavorable to Republicans. Yowza, I nearly fell over as the earth shifted in its orbit.

And this was a story the correspondent had to ferret out, not merely read from one of the wire services.

I think it’s not unreasonable to say that in many instances, as this clip shows, the media was doing its due diligence in reporting. It’s also not unreasonable to point out, as RealityKing did, and as the Pew Research Center study from yesterday illustrated, that the media was generally more unfavorable to the McCain campaign than to the Obama campaign. Fox News was equally unfavorable to both and within a couple points on favorable reporting.

New Rasmussen poll from nonaligned voters said 51 percent thought the media were cheerleaders for the Obama campaign, 7 percent thought so for the McCain campaign.

So what it boils down to, Jay, is that the media can act appropriately in reporting negative/questionable statements or issues on candidates (wasn’t there one report on one of Biden’s many gaffes?), yet still roll those reports into an overall negative slant on an entire ticket and campaign.

The fact that the Republican party resorted to the use of a “Hail Mary” in their vain attempt to capture the White House speaks for itself. I dread to think what might have happened to this country had those two been elected and McCain had died.

It’s one thing to pick a candidate to energize a base. It’s quite another to stay with a candidate after losing an election to resurrect a base.

They should pronounce last rites and R.I.P.

1) Tighten the Perimeter 2) Redistribute ammo 3) Treat your wounded 4) Prepare for another attack while you await reinforcments

Did it ever occur to you that the reason ABC, CBS, and NBC ran so many “negative” stories about Sarah Palin is that the TRUTH about her is so negative?

Anyone who listened to her interviews knows that she IS unintelligent and unqualified - and that she DID serve as the “attack dog” for the McCain campaign.

I did what I could do for my country, I voted McCain. I knew she was not a good pick for the ticket within a few days of her being in the spotlight. Romney would have been 100% better of a choice, for the VP or the main draw on the GOP ticket. I hope to never hear about Palin again, ever. On the flip side, in regards to the new President. I have zero expectations of him, or Biden, or this one-sided, one dementional Congress so I can’t be disappointed. However, with that said…..I bet in a year or two, or sooner, many people with lofty expectations of Obama will not be happy. Obama can’t deliver on all he promised. Thank goodness, the woman will not be seen anywhere near 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

One WAY over his head, uniformed neo-con dufus in the West Wing is enough in this lifetime…

Speaking of which, you gotta hand it to Ronnie.

Somehow that old fool was able to con(vince) a boatload of young people into believing and following his ideology for decades.

No more.

The GOP now faces the prospects that they may not, for a very long time, appeal to virtually anyone below the age of, or an IQ of, over 50. Or anyone other than white Talibaptists.

And an odd collection of loons who are anti-education, anti-environment, pro-war and afraid to death of everybody not exactly like them.

Some are inclined to simply toss aside the inane ideas and comparisons we see here often, such as - the market is down 666 points and that means Obama is the devil, or it sure was cold this morning and that means global warming does not exist.

I do not.

These sophomoric, lunatic ravings demonstrate a deep seated disconnect between what these poor souls want to believe and reality.

And they are the face of the imploding GOP.

So how did the liberal media do on election night?

From the standpoint of viewership they clobbered the “conservative media.”

Out of 71 million election night viewers, cable-Fox News and network broadcast- Fox combined had only 14 million viewers. CNN beat Fox News, 12 million to 9 million.

The media did its job. The reason for the negative McCain stories should be obvious. He made many mistakes down the stretch. The Palin pick, campaign suspension, negative attacks, “fundamentally strong” economy comment.

Yelling “liberal media” the next 4 years is not going to get Republicans anywhere.

Why was Fox News only able to attract only 14 million total viewers? ABC alone had 13.1 million viewers.

Seems like you socialist Republicans want to control the media. What ever happened to supply and demand.

Soon after Palin was chosen I started to tell one of my Republican friends something I had learned about her actions as governor, and my friend said, “No, no,no. I like her. I’m not going to listen to you say anything bad about her!”

I was like, OK. But it disheartened me that she would want to block out information that way.

That seems to be common among the Republican base, though. They are told over and over, every day, that the “liberal media” are not to be believed or trusted.

In the book “Freakonomics,” the author talks about something called “information asymmetry,” where power and abuse come about most often because one group or individual knows way more than another.

Now, for a whole generation of news consumers, that information asymmetry is self-imposed, as they refuse to listen to viewpoints that don’t reinforce their worldview, or else when confronted with news they don’t like, the dismiss it as just so much liberal media bias.

To make matters worse, they are turning more often and sometimes exclusively to news outlets where there’s anger and confrontation, fear-mongering, name-calling, and refusal to hear out opposing viewpoints.

You are better than that, people! Turn to more intelligent, reasoned sources! Read David Brooks, Charles Krauthhammer, Thomas Sowell, even Jim Wooten for God’s sake! Leave Bill O’Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh to their cult worshippers.

It frightens me for the future of our country, which has in part grown stronger and remained freer due to our news media, which with so many different voices, reduces that dangerous “information asymmetry.”

I’m still waiting on the USA map that lists the election results county by county. When it is published, you will see that the republicans will once again win the heartland of America and the democrats will win the major population centers and the so called “black belt.”

That’s the reason the “Red County Folks” got exited about Sarah. She’s one of us. She is a mother of five. She married a real man who knows how to build things and work with his hands. She can field dress a moose and look good doing it. She’s never associated with communist sympathizers and terrorists, and would probably give them a taste of buckshot if they stepped foot on her property.

That’s also the reason that the Washington insiders and liberal media hacks didn’t like Sarah Palin. They looked at her and felt inadequate.

Or, put another way, when the s** hits the fan, who would you rather have your back, Sarah Palin or Nancy Pelosi?

The election of the first black president - who happens to be a brilliant and unabashed intellectual with a left-wing record on the environment, healthcare, abortion and gun control - will surely transform social attitudes and redirect the bias of the Supreme Court. Sarah Palin was an unbelievable ignoramus who should have never been put in such an exposed position. She was glib and canny, but had about as much depth in her character and knowledge as a playing card. If media exposed her for what she was, so be it. It’s the name of the game, and she should have known it. Instead, her ego blinded her to the reality of what she would face, and the sloppy vetting by the McCain staff put her under the microscope that all candidate have to face. If she wasn’t able to hold up to scrutiny, the nation needed to know. Her VP candidacy was a miserable failure, and she and the staffers who put her in this position should bear the blame for their inadequacies.

I agree with The Snark at 12:36. The problem is that — and this is borne out by empirical evidence — people without much knowledge or intelligence often think they are much smarter than they actually are. Palin obviously didn’t realize her own limitations.

This is not to say that she can’t learn, but learning is a life-long pursuit and at 44, she is way behind in the game. You don’t cram for deep understanding and a broad perspective.

One good thing though — the more she learns, the more she’ll learn she doesn’t know.

And as someone said, it’s not what we don’t know that hurts us, it’s what we don’t know that we don’t know that hurts us.

And that goes back to my earlier post. We need to try to find out what we don’t know. Not just keep looking to reinforce what we already think we know.

Liberal Media? Google Obama and Ayers to see how many stories were printed on that. No Google McCain and Libby. McCain is good friends with and palls around with a convicted felon who advocated shooting US federal agents in the head. See how liberal the media is.

Also, Google McCain and Keating. See how much media play McCain and his connection to Keating were given. McCain and his wife used to spend Christmass with Kating before stopping regulatory action against his bank, which later failed and cost the US taxpayers. Funny how the liberal media was all over that story.

OMG, I just had to watch that clip again. That is priceless. I remember the day Jay posted that Couric interview and some blogger said something about marking the day that Couric took down Sarah Palin - how accurate, how true.

Snark, snark. I hope McCain staffers throw her under the bus - she cost them some pretty promising jobs!

And who’d’ve thought I’d ever WANT to watch a clip of a Fox News program more than once!

Fairness from the media does not mean you are never criticized, or that you receive the same mix and amount of negative publicity as the other candidate. It means that the media accurately reports what you are — good, bad or indifferent. Anyone who took the national stage with Sarah Palin’s experience, qualifications and public performance would have been raked over the coals, regardless of gender, age, party affiliation or political leanings.

In fact, because of her physical attractiveness (to some, anyway), she received much more favorable publicity than another person in her position. If a middle-aged male politician had turned in the wretched performance that Palin did, he would have been a national laughingstock.

But then again, he wouldn’t have been chosen.

Call it like it is

Heres one for you to call:

Meanwhile, McCain may have conveniently forgotten (hey, the dude’s, like, really old) that he once used the same analogy in a 2007 Chicago Tribune article about Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s healthcare plan. And I didn’t hear anything about Hillary demanding an apology “I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig,” McCain is quoted as saying about Clinton’s proposal.

You call that one will ya’?

Who’s been backing McCain in the corner about Liddy, Abramoff and Keating?

Can ya’ call that one for us too?

SOftball questions at the debate? McCain got the same questions.

Care to call that one?

I’m waiting breathlessly for your call on that!

Ouch! That sounded so good when you described it yesterday.

I think a roux could have been a bit heavy, especially if it was a dark roux and not a white roux. (If the dish you’re thickening is hot, and you just made the roux, you may have better results if the roux is at room temperature.)

In a lot of soups or stews, where you don’t want the heaviness of flour, try using a slurry of cornstarch and water. Just drizzle in a little (careful, it’s about twice as powerful as flour) and let it cook a bit between additions. It’s the same result you’ll get when making a custard.

But you may want to consider “stew” in the sense of a bouillabaisse, cooked by stewing, as opposed to a thickened style such as is used in beef stew. The liquid in such a stew is very free-flowing, like a soup.

If your guests can’t get over the idea of a liquidy stew, then tell’em it’s Thai Seafood Soup, as you’re using coconut milk.

BTW - in soups and stews, Cook’s Illustrated testers liked the Chaokoh Coconut Milk, which had the lowest sugar content of the milks tested. Ka-Me was also good. Both should be available at regular grocery stores.

Just remember:

“If it turned out well, it’s a great cook. If it turned out not so well, it’s a lousy recipe.”

Proud? Not really. I try not to be a cheerleader for networks or media types. Some I like more than others (the ones who make me think or don’t insult my intelligence too much) but most of what I write is driven more by just plain not wanting them misrepresented.

But in this case, it struck me as a good piece of investigative reporting. I’m not real big on all these “unnamed sources” though. I know there are times when people can’t be exposed, but in cases like this, or in the NY Time piece of “ooooh, McCain might’ve had an affair” it strike me more as cowardice or hiding behind a reporter to make political points.

“I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.” “I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate,” Biden said, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. “And he’s gonna need help. And the kind of help he’s gonna need is, he’s gonna need your influence, your influence within the community. Because it’s not gonna be apparent initially, it’s not gonna be apparent that we’re right.”

Wow! I sure hope thousands of dead Atlantans will not be part of Biden’s vision of an Obama presidency.

Maybe the media reports seemed biased because Republicans have just done more bad stuff. In this election cycle, we saw more Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers than the numerous McCain flaws—-Keating 5, Khalidi donations, G. Gordon Liddy, etc. The Republicans need to stop blaming the media and look within for the cause of their troubles. Think about it. Bush messed up so bad that we were able to put a Black man in office with less than 2 years of national political experience. How is that our fault? At least the inexperienced man had POLICIES that involved more than attacking his opponent.

To Doggone/GA,

You may be correct. “Racist” may not be the most correct term. Instead “biased” is more correct.

PROOF 1: What has been the historic median percentage of black vote for the Democratic candidate? Maybe 60-70%??? This election it is leaning very nearly 100%. Even the “mainstream” media reports the large percentage. There is no way I can prove that every single black person voted just based on color, just as you can’t prove otherwise. Some voted based on the economy, medical insurance, hatred of “W”, and real issues. But mathematical statistics would point to a color bias atleast for the approximately 30% that normally vote Republican. You can try to convince everyone that it didn’t happen and was “coincidence”. But the statistics don’t lie. Those folks that stayed true to their ideology can be respected. Those that didn’t or just jumped on the bandwagon can not be respected.

PROOF 2: Why wasn’t there such an outpouring of jubilation when Bill Clinton won his first election defeating the “evil” Bush Sr. Clinton has very similar ideology to that of Obama. The overt showing of emotion was a “100” times of that of what occurred in 1992. I will side with you (NOT) that it must just be coincidence.

That a person of black heritage can now be president IS a step in the RIGHT direction for racial equality. Congrats and may people see each other individually rather than collectively. That a person of such liberal heritage can now be president IS a step in WRONG direction for most everything else.

I pretty much agree. Interesting the source didn’t want it used until after the election. Sounds like the person saw what was coming, doesn’t it?

But I still kinda like it when a person stands up and says “this is how I see things. Quote me.”

BTW - the other night Dick Morris told a story about Pres Clinton calling him and screaming about something confidential he’d just read about in the paper. He asked Morris “Who did you tell?” Morris said “Just Stephanopoulos and (Rahm) Emanuel.” Clinton screamed back “Why didn’t you just issue a f@##in press release?”

Hey, Clinton had a temper! Just like McCain!

So now Emanuel is Chief of Staff. Interesting guy. Understand he left Clinton’s first Presidential campaign at the start of the 1991 Gulf War to volunteer as a civilian in the Israeli Defense Forces.

I think the whole “most liberal” line is BS. Obama has surrounded himself with people who are more centrist than anything else.

Fact of the matter is that he has not even begun and yet some on this blog are not giving him the benefit of the doubt. When he’s been President for six months or a year, then you’ll have room to judge.

I’m not ready to continue further down the path of divisive politics, and I’d much rather see this nation buckle down and work together to solve our mutual problems. There’s too much to lose if we don’t.

The press unfair to Palin? I don’t think so.

She was new. She was news. She created her own firestorm with the inept early interviews she gave. There was nothing wrong with the questions she was asked. In fact, they were soft. What newspapers do you read? Talk about your foreign policy experience. (The questions were phrased differently, but that was the tone.) Even if she had been asked tough questions, even if she didn’t have the knowledge, she could have at least answered like a good political shill and double talked her way out of it. She didn’t even have the wit to do that.

And the “fair” side of reporting equally negatively (?”equally negatively” doesn’t sound like good English) on Biden? It would have been so dreary if the press had felt compelled to give as much coverage to Biden’s slips of the lip as they did to Palin’s enormous gaffs. There really was a difference in degree.

But, I do know that, if you depend on the press to cover your campaign, it’s not smart to make an enemy of that press. Nobody ever accused the McCain/Palin/Plumber campaign of being smart, however.

If what we get is more government and higher taxes then no one will be very happy. Nothing will have really changed for the better. People don’t enjoy watching their hard-earned paycheck go to fund those who don’t want to work or programs that only serve the special interest. If that ends up being the case, then we’ll see Mr. Obama’s approval ratings tank. Only time will tell.

Jay, what numbers would you accept that you and the liberal media were biased

Even if the media were biased, the media didn’t make her stupid. Anytime, a transcript of a conversation can be used, verbatim, as a comedy script you know your candidate is an idiot. Now, the media did circle like sharks once they sensed stupid in the water. Apparently, the interviewing process took place on Louis B. Mayer’s couch. this woman wasn’t picked for her depth of thought. If the Republinazis want less media harshness, pick somebody smarter. Palin’s IQ is probaly below 100. Hell, it may be below 85. but then 85 is average for Republinazis.

Hey MORON Mrs. Godzilla :

You still have not answered why the media does not ask your Savor Obama why he can sit in a RACIST chuch for over 20 years, Zero Experience, 120 days total in the US Senate, and has DONE NOTHING FOR BLACKS OR AMERICA!

McCain served his country and proved his patriotisim, and your boy has not!

McCain was never convicted of the Keating deal, so GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT SISTER.

FURTHER,

I’m fed up with you people. I’m fed up because you have no understanding of what’s really going on in the world. Or of what’s going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.

Let’s start local. You’ve been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media.

Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there’s increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and beachfront property than your economic security.

We face real threats in the world. Don’t give me this ‘blood for oil’ thing. If Bush were trading blood for oil he would’ve already seized Iraq ‘s oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don’t give me this ‘Bush Lied…People Died’ crap either. If he were the liar you morons take him for, He could’ve easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be ‘discovered.’ Instead, he owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty.

What has Obama owned up to as far as his associations with terrorists & racists?

Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as Bush. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before he came into office. Some guy named ’ Clinton ’ established that policy. Bet you didn’t know that, did you?

Now some of you morons want to be led by a junior senator with no understanding of foreign policy or economics, and this nitwit says we should attack Pakistan, a nuclear ally. And then he wants to go to Iran and make peace with a terrorist who says he’s going to destroy us. While he’s doing that, he wants to give Iraq to al Qaeda, Afghanistan to the Taliban, Israel to the Palestinians, and your money to the IRS so the government can give welfare to illegal aliens, who he will make into citizens, so they can vote to re-elect him. He also thinks it’s okay for Iran to have nuclear weapons, and we should stop our foreign aid to Israel.

Did you sleep through high school?

You need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to out spend and out-tech them.

That’s not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don’t care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That’d be fine, as long as they weren’t also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are. They want to kill you, and the b******* are all over the globe.

You should be grateful that they haven’t gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you’re not. That’s because you’ve got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement, and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, Bush warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I’m disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of ‘Survivor.’

Instead, you’ve grown impatient. You’re incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.

Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat’s political campaign, well, dang it, you might just as well Fed Ex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.

In this day and age, it’s easy enough to find the truth. It’s all over the Internet. It just isn’t on the pages of the AJC, New York Times, USA Today, or on NBC News. But even if it were, I doubt you’d be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol or Dancing with Stars.

I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you’re too stupid to leave a city that’s below sea level and has a hurricane approaching.

I could say more about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I’ve come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your head.

So that’s it. God bless what’s left of America .

Some of you know what I mean. The rest of you, kiss off.

PS - You might want to start learning Farsi, and buy a Koran.

So now you get your facts straight Sister!

Enough Said!

HANDOUT WATCH

Today, U.S. automakers are begging for tens of billions of dollars in handouts from Joe the Plumber’s America. They’ve been making cars people don’t want since 1970.

Those Detroit execs are conservatives (real Americans). They’ve worked longer and harder for their handout than jobless liberals. In Detroit’s case we call a handout an “investment.”

The media was no more unfair to Governor Palin than any other woman running for high office.
The media is dominated by men and they have their own ideas about women and often are not shy about how and what they say, no matter how offensive. As more women enter into politics, some of this will cease; when a woman ascends to the office of the Presidency, then we will have gotten past most of the nastiness of sexism. Until then, the best that can be done is to complain to the power brokers about their boys’ behavior and refuse to support the business that advertise on those media outlets as well as refuse to vote for sexist candidates who run for office. Next go around, Governor Palin will have a thicker hide and will be able to fend off those nasty comments. She needs lessons from Senator Hillary Clinton on dealing with the sexism that is bound to come her way. I hope she keeps her aspiration high; while I don’t like her politics, she is to be admired for the effort she gave to the cause.

While I didn’t vote for President-elect Obama, I will give him chance to prove himself in the coming years. What really scares me is the lack of leadership and direction of the Congress. They just ramble on and get nothing accomplished. They even took accountability out of the $700 billion “bail out” package and now they’re talking about a stimulus package after the first of the year. That’s just grand; the once “greatest nation in the world” is now owned by China, et.al. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t want to live anywhere else, but the U.S. needs a lot of work on virtually every aspect of its infrastructure, however you wish to define it. If we’re not careful we may as well be included in with the Third World!

I’m tired of the “She was unfairly put in this position by McCain” argument.

She accepted the job, and that’s it. If you’re told that you’re interviewing to be an airline pilot, and have no idea what an Aileron is, should you take that Job? Should you even be interviewing for that Job?

No.

Here is one example. A list of questions ABC’s Charlie Gibson asked Obama in an interview and questions he asked Palin.

QUESTIONS FOR OBAMA How does it feel to break a glass ceiling? How does it feel to “win”? How does your family feel about your “winning” breaking a glass ceiling? Who will be your VP? Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP? Will you accept public finance? What issues is your campaign about? Will you visit Iraq? Will you debate McCain at a town hall? What did you think of your competitor’s [Clinton] speech?

QUESTIONS FOR PALIN Do you have enough qualifications for the job you’re seeking? Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders? Aren’t you conceited to be seeking this high level job? Questions about foreign policy -territorial integrity of Georgia -allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO -NATO treaty -Iranian nuclear threat -what to do if Israel attacks Iran -Al Qaeda motivations -the Bush Doctrine -attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan Is America fighting a holy war? I just dropped in to let everyone know that I voted for Obama and it was the libs on this blog that convinced me of it. You see, once Obama said he would get financial advice from Warren Buffet (a major share holder of numerous corporations) I said hey that sounds more “fascist” than Bush. Since, you all convinced me I was a “fascist” I had to vote for the bigger fascist, right?

I throw the fascist word simply to illustrate the blind partisanship that I left. Bush & Cheney have a closed door meeting with energy executives and he is a fascist. Obama says he will consult Buffet and we rush to elect him without any concern for creeping fascism.

No seriously, I voted for Obama because I knew McCain would never win the popular vote and I didn’t want our country to be further ripped apart by the hyper partisans.

The “media” discredited themselves by refusing to cover Obama’s past associations, but I hope they will not protect him during his term as OUR President.

Sarah Palin was hardly the most qualified person to be VP, however, Barack Obama was hardly the most qualified person to be President.

The arguments about experience were ridiculous. The “she’s just a heartbeat away from the Presidency” were absurd considering Obama is NO heartbeats away from the Presidency.

How was the press unfair? If she failed to speak perfectly she was categorized as an idiot. Just think for a moment how the media would have hammered Palin if she said some of the things Joe the Biden did, such as:

  • I’m a history expert and mark my words, Obama will be tested within 6 months of taking office. It will be intentional to test his mettle. We will need to stand behind him because it will not be clear that he made the right choice. (this doesn’t give me a safe and secure feeling)

  • The history expert also said that when things get tough, America turns to it’s leaders to guidance. Look what happened when the Depression hit in 1929. FDR got on the TV and calmed everybody down. (FDR was NOT President at that time and TVs were not in American homes)

  • On a stump speach - “As Senator Obama said, this election is about one 3 letter word, jobs! J-O-B-S!” (if I’m not mistaken, that’s a 4 letter word)

  • These were just a few bidenisms. He’s a comedian’s dream. He is an absolute moron and the media gave him a pass. They would have killed Palin for saying the same.

I trust this answers your question of how the media was unfair to Palin.

Donald, the information you are spewing is comments made from disgruntled McCain campaigners.

Let’s assume, for sake of argument, what you said was true. That was inexcusable. No, she wasn’t the most qualified, but neither was Obama. Granted, he is the most amazing teleprompter reader I’ve ever seen, but his words are hollow.

I’d rather have someone geographically challenged as the Vice President over a liar as President.

Maybe you buy it, but when a man sits in a church for 20 years and claims never to have heard any racist or inflammatory comments is just plain lying.

Also, this limbo tax plan just keeps getting lower. First it was “those making under $250K”, then his infomercial said $200K, then Joe the Biden said $150, and finally Bill Richardson (not on the ticket, but a surrogate nonetheless) said the number was $120K. Obama lied and his “tax breaks” will eventually be for those making $60K or less.

Numerous other lies throughout the campaign. Time will bear them out.

The saddest thing was how Obama and Joe the Biden attacked Joe the Plumber. He merely asked a question, then the liberal attack dogs literally tried to destroy him - even resorting to using government computers on taxpayer time to try to bring up dirt on him.

This adminstration will have an army of surrogates whose job will be to walk around saying “what the President meant to say was….”.

I hope I’m wrong, but I truly believe this will be one of the most corrupt administrations in our lifetime.

Sarah Palin was NOT treated unfairly by the media. Since John Mcain didn’t vet her, the press did. What they found was an under educated, clueless bimbo with a nasty vindictive streak. I have no sympathy for her. She knew what she was being asked to do; she knew she wasn’t up to the task. Her ego wouldn’t let common sense reign. The result is what we all saw on TV numerous times; rambling non sensical answers to very basic, easy questions. Angry, sophmoric rants at Mcain rally’s, whipping up the wackos who happened to be sober enough that day to attend. And finally, the electoral pounding she and Mcain really deserved for their low road, mean spirited, disingenuous campaign they ran since the late summer. Hey Imposter, believe what you want, and I’ll do the same. I mentioned my mom the educator, I can’t count the times that she’s told me about rich kid’s parents trying to pressure her to give them passing grades, when the kids were obvious idiots. Think exponentially, visualize the scion of one of the nation’s wealthiest, and connected families at an Ivy League school, and the only thing standing in the way of him being awarded a Master’s degree is an endowment. Imagine the possibilities, I don’t think that guy ever earned anything in his life except the notoriety of being the WORST PRESIDENT EVER!

McHater, you dumb a*, I voted for John McCain.

Using your analogy (that I was voting for a VP) you voted for a moron who said President FDR got on TV in 1929 when the Depression hit, that the word JOBS was a 3-letter word (how Dan Quayle), and in the debate misstated the content of Article 1 of the Constitution. These were just a few of his jewels.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Palin’s 2 years of Governor gave her as much experience as Obama’s 2 years in the Senate before campaigning. And let’s not forget, she was a VP candidate, Obama was the Prez. So who got duped, bright boy?

OMG - Newsweek uses the h-word!

NEWSWEEK has also learned that Palin’s shopping spree at high-end department stores was more extensive than previously reported. While publicly supporting Palin, McCain’s top advisers privately fumed at what they regarded as her outrageous profligacy. One senior aide said that Nicolle Wallace had told Palin to buy three suits for the convention and hire a stylist. But instead, the vice presidential nominee began buying for herself and her family—clothes and accessories from top stores such as Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus. According to two knowledgeable sources, a vast majority of the clothes were bought by a wealthy donor, who was shocked when he got the bill. Palin also used low-level staffers to buy some of the clothes on their credit cards. The McCain campaign found out last week when the aides sought reimbursement. One aide estimated that she spent “tens of thousands” more than the reported $150,000, and that $20,000 to $40,000 went to buy clothes for her husband. Some articles of clothing have apparently been lost. An angry aide characterized the shopping spree as “Wasilla hillbillies looting Neiman Marcus from coast to coast,” and said the truth will eventually come out when the Republican Party audits its books.

My but you Conservatives are something. For 8 painful years you have dominated the Agenda, spewing hate, forcing the country down one wrong path after another while faithfully following the dimwitted shrub, your latest hero. Oh yes, let us not forget, you also worship Satan (Cheney) as faithful acolytes and then to take the cake, you support a nominee for Vice-President who likely doesn’t know the recipe for ice. You believe in nothing but hate, hate and more hate-you have the audacity to look down your ignorant noses at those who have pulled themselves up by their bootstraps, as if being educated is a negative, only the twisted mind of a conservative could be that delusional. You consider it radical that people in the wealthiest country on earth should have healthcare, my, what a concept.

You think that taxes can never be raised, as if citizens can expect every service for free, but then, what can we expect of the party that has opposed every social program, including even Social Security and Medicare. Yes, Conservatives are Morons but then again, that is too good for you. Thank God the country woke up and gave you half-wits the boot. Keep walking until you finally fall off into the abyss so that rational people can have a country that both we and the world can be proud of. And while you’re at it, please take the idiot Shrub, send the even stupider Barbie back to the Tundra and take Satan back to Hell with you. By the way, take some responsibility for wrecking the country the last 8 years and oh yeah, fess up to the fact that 9/11 happened on your watch.
