Had Obama lost, I was just going to stay away from posting for awhile so as to not sound too arrogant ………….. however:
To Jay and my liberal friends:
1) Congratulations - with the help of the biased MSM you have won a bitterly constested campaign. Take as much time as you want to revel in it and rub it in. That’s just normal after winning a long battle and it’s what we would have done had you lost.
2) Know that most of us (unlike liberals regarding President Bush) will respect the election and the office of the President and you will not find us engaging in rioting or other illegal/crass behavior.
If President-Elect Obama came to my house I would say “hell’o Mr. President” and invite him in. If I was still working for the agency I retired from I would work to give my life for him if required. I did it for President Clinton even though his election by the
American people was a personal slap in the face of this Vietnam veteran.
3) But also know we will spend every waking minute to neutralize as much as possible any policy President Obama promulgates that we feel is destructive to the principles of this Republic.
The battle for the soul of this nation will continue.
They’ve called Georgia but neither Atlanta nor Dekalb County have been counted. Lookout for the upset. McCain still goes down in Georgia.

The vote in Virginia is way too close with the Arlington vote still outstanding. I’m not sure if the data I’m looking at is fully accurate, but if it is Obama has won Virginia too. Maybe we can get an AJC breaking news alert that RW at the Bookman decision desk has called Virginia for Obama.
Soixante huitard, actually I was born and raised in Massachusetts and have lived in Connecticut, New Jersey, and extensively visited California, Nevada, Texas, Louisiana, Tennessee, Maine, New York, Virginia, and a host of other states.
So yes I’ve been “outside of Georgia”.
Now what does that have to do with the fact that starting in January we have a communist “president” with ties to domestic terrorists?
If things play out as they appear they will, congratulations to Senator Obama & Democrats. It was a tough campaign and I happen to not agree with the outcome, but the greatness of our government is the consistent, peaceful transfer of power based on the results of elections.
Luckily, it appears that Democrats will be unable to gain a 60 vote filibuser-proof so there is still a bulkwart for America preventing the complete move to liberal policies should Pelosi / Reid / Obama attempt to act in that manner.
Personally, I will continue to promote policy / principles supporting small government, lower taxes, and the American ideals of opportunity and freedom for individuals to achieve beyond their own expectations. The reality is that the work continues even if the specific activities of the job might have temporarily changed.
Thank God the night is going as it is— I hope the trend continues. Hopefully, we will end up with a leader who can pull this country back together and try to undo the harm done by the party of hate, diviseness, and xenophobia.
We need CHANGE, which is what Barack Obama identified from the beginning of his campaign two years ago. McCain couldn’t deliver change— he just stole the words from Obama’s campaign and then pumped more hate and divisiness into the world.
I look forward to our country coming back together. This is not a time to gloat. We have too many problems in front of us.
The stock market will tumble tomorrow, our economy is now condemned by a terrible election that people will regret in near future..
Hey Jay, don`t you and Cynthia forget Georgia is still a Republican and RED state and probably the reason is: LOOK IN THE MIRRORS.
Save your keystrokes and let them revel in their victory. It’s only natural for them to do so. Please do not involve yourselves in petty acrimony. There will be time down the road to point out glaring faults with their choice.
We must brace ourselves now (along with Israel) for the big test we know is coming.
Pray for our troops and law enforcement officers and for their vigilance.
And yes, pray for our new President-elect that any who would try to harm him would be thwarted in their efforts.
Yes, it’s all over for McCain and the ugly Rethuglicons. Unfortunately, the South and the Midwest are still among the racist states that don’t get the message. They put Saxby Shameless back in office and Tom ‘Malpractice’ Price. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome. No wonder they keep electing Rethuglicons. Welcome, President-elect Obama!!!!!!!!
I hope these states are screwed to the political walls over the next four years. Paybacks are hell and hell’s coming starting Jan 20, 2009. Many Democrats are going to remember how badly the ugly Rethuglicons treated them from 2002 - 2008. Thank God Bush is gone. It’s too bad my tax dollars will go to protecting him and his inbred hick family until he dies. Which I hope is very soon.
When you vote Rethuglicon, you vote against your own best interests. But you people are just too racist, stupid, and arrogant to realize that.
Georgia is still living in the past.
Our WHOLE country has decided to move
forward!!!! Thank God for sensible,
logical, intelligent citizens. New
England has sent a strong message to
the South. Wake up and smell the
ocean!
A bad and dark day for our country. You folks spoke and we will all regret it. You don’t know what has just happened. Dark days lie ahead. God help us all.
I would rather the Democrats had their 60 Senators than 57 or 58. They’ll nearly always be able to peel off enough Republicans to get to 60 and they’ll still be able to blame Republicans for any failure.
The best hope is that they decide to blow up the filibuster altogether with the misguided notion that they have a lifetime mandate.
A bad and dark day for our country. You folks spoke and we will all regret it. You don’t know what has just happened. Dark days lie ahead. God help us all.
I will note every nook and cranny where Obama makes a mistake and he will make plenty. It is yours now Jay and your cohorts - I expect lower gas immediately, the improvement of the job market immediately, for war to end immediately. You got it - live it and take it. Also anything you are making over 40,000 a year should be given up to the govt for the common good. If you are going to state it then live it. Have fun!!!!!!! You and your buds will be held accountable.
A bad and dark day for our country. You folks spoke and we will all regret it. You don’t know what has just happened. Dark days lie ahead. God help us all.
The Greek (center-right) newspaper Avriani features today a big photograph of Obama and the headline: “The End of Jewish Domination in the United States.”
Jeez Jay, I guess you should enjoy this now cause even with all the BS you and the AJC have been spitting out, your guys got crushed locally. You guys couldn’t even kill the library boondoggle. The DNC will be revoking your password and secret handshake with dismal results like that. I’d move if I were you.
I agree that is time for us to show some class. I am not prepared to predict an apocalypse largely because I hold to the premise that my success is not dependent upon who wins elections. One of the quickest seeds to failure is placing your dependence upon the actions of others to direct your decisions and enable your future.
207 OBAMA/BIDEM 135 MCCAIN/PALIN
SING YOUR SONG FAT LADY SING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
CHECK OUT ALL THE PEOPLE IN GRANT PARK.ILL
I WISH I WERE THERE. THIS COUNTRY HAS COME A LONG WAY. WE CAN FINALLY UNITE. NOT AS BLACK OR WHITE, PRO OR ANTI AMERICAN, OR PATRIOTIC OR NON PATRIOTIC. JUST AMERICANS. GOD BLESS AMERICA. I TRULY LOVE THIS COUNTRY. WE ARE A COUNTRY OF GREAT PEOPLE. NOW BE SAFE ALL YOU GREAT AMERICANS, DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE TONIGHT, BECAUSE THE PO-PO IS IN FULL FORCE. THANKS JAY FOR THE VIDEO, THAT REALLY MADE MY NIGHT. WHEN JOE BIDEN SAID OBAMA WOULD BE TESTED, THEY MADE HIM OUT TO BE A LOONEY. BUT WHEN THE RIGHT-WING NUTS SAY IT, IT’S THE GOSPEL. GOD HELP THESE PSYCHOS.
Wooo hooo! Ohio! We’re free from the Evil Empire. The hardy band of rebels destroyed the death star. Back to AZ for McCain and Alaska for Palin! Just in time for a long winter.
After watching the final debate the other night, it dawned on me that
Obama could actually win this thing. If that happens, there will be a
lot of people (some of our co-workers included) who will be afraid that
an Obama presidency will usher in the end of days. They’ll be watching
us on November 5th (the day after the election) for signs of the end
times.
To keep the peace and keep a lot of folks from getting nervous, I think
we should develop a list of acceptable celebrations and behaviors we
should probably avoid - at least for the first few days:
No crying, hugging or shouting ‘Thank you Lord’ - at least not in
public
2 No high-fives - at least not unless the area is clear and there are no
witnesses
No laughing at the McCain/Palin supporters
No calling in sick on November 5th. They’ll get nervous if too many of
us don’t show up.
We’re allowed to give each other knowing winks or nods in passing.
Just try to keep from grinning too hard.
No singing loudly, We’ve come this Far By Faith (it will be
acceptable to hum softly)
No bringing of barbeque ribs or fried chicken for lunch in the
company lunchroom for at least a week (no chittlings at all) (this may
make us seem too ethnic)
No leaving kool-aid packages at the water fountain (this might be a
sign that poor folks might be getting a break through)
No Cupid Shuffle during breaks (this could indicate a little too much
excitement)
Please no Moving on Up music (we are going to try to remain humble)
No doing the George Jefferson dance (unless you’re in your office
with the door closed)
Please try not to yell——BOOOO YAH!
Just in case you’re wondering, Doing the Running Man, cabbage patch,
or a backhand spring on the highway is 100% okay.
Please don’t wear your OBAMA T-shirt the day after he wins.
They(McCain supporters) will think we’re mocking them.——
Do not fix your mouth to say to the McCain/Palin supporters:
“Y’all know he was old and crazy and she didn’t have the sense God gave a
goose, so get over it.” (they probably do know this, but that’s just
rubbing it in
No “HOW YA LIKE ME NOW” OR “BAM!!! IN YOUR FACE” to your co-workers
who let’s just say were not on the winning team! Let’s do all that the
night before and the following Sunday at Big Momma’s house when we all
get together and have a serious Sunday dinner and truly give thanks for
the past, present and future, the past that people fought to bring us
this far, the present for the dream being realized and the future that
will look much brighter for the next generation….peace & blessings
people.
Even today, it was hard to keep from smiling.
Keep it going. Did we miss anything?
What time will we be dancing in the strrets?
No disrespect to McCain. Last year it was tears, but not like these.
This is the greatest thing to happen in our country since sliced bread. I want to give a special thanks to the people in Ohio and PA; with a special shotout to everyone in Florida, North Carolina and Virginia. Way to go folks…..
I hope the message is clear to the conservative republicans that we want our country BACK. We also expect FULL cooperation from you, so leave the HATE behind. It’s going to be a New Day. Let’s start out on the right foot, shake hands and befriends.
Can’t wait for March/April to come and the national news media re-interviews the young lady who said “Obama being elected means I won’t have to worry about getting gas for my car or finding a place to live.”
I would be ashamed to know I got elected to the presidency and 85% of my support came from people with that mentality!!!
Ok you hypocritical dems - it is time you start giving up your salary that is anything beyond your common living expenses to the common good. You voted for it - live it.
If you live in a nice house -sell it and give thw proceeds to the common good. You drive a nice car - sell it and give the proceeds to the common good. I am waiting. By the way I need help paying my cellular bill - it is only fair that you help pay it.
Can’t wait for the brownouts - can’t dig for coal and can’t drill for oil. You guys will be the first to start raising cane in about 6-months because everything stinks. I suggest you read Atlas Shrugged to prepare for your future. You asked for it brother!
See, I’m about to see the Republican party take a bath. They’ve needed one. They’ve gotten kind of dirty. Lots of shame and corruption.
To switch metaphors, the Republicans have gotten drunk with power and run us off into the ditch, and the last thing we needed to do was offer them another drink of power. So we’ve done a good thing by cutting them off.
You know what the signs of being drunk with power are? They’re kind of like the signs of being drunk with alcohol. You (or your relative or friend) start saying lots of ugly things. You call names. You cut others off and won’t listen to any disagreement. You’re full of righteous indignation. You argue rather than discuss.
On the far right wing talk shows, they act this way — just like drunk people! Compare this to the other news outlets — you know, those “liberal media” ones — (who actually feature well as many or more conservative than liberal columnists — those people act downright sober!
Anyway, I don’t want to join the party that’s drunk with power.I’m having a few celebratory beers with the party that’s going to remind the drunk party that America is always in play for the citzens who want responsible, responsive government and are blessed with it though 1) a free press that minimizes information asymetry, a situation that allows one group to gain too big an advantage over the other and 2) a regular opportunity through our vote to hold our government accountable.
I had a vent I thought this was the US and FREEDOM of speech and the open expression of IDEAS was a WRITE granted by the constitution. Wait this is a LIBERAL TRASH rag oan they only want speech free if it is what they want to hear. OPRAH like DURG ADDICTS voting because thay are so informed right?
Congratulations to President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama and Sasha and Malia. Yesterday we cried with you, today we rejoice. My daughters now believe if THAT ONE CAN, I CAN
I guess the rest of the country wasn’t as smart as the Georgia residents. I’ve never been more disapointed with my fellow Americans. They all have their heads up their asses.
JAY,
I am disappointed that Barack could not win GEORGIA! I really thought that he had a chance in this “Great State”. The North prevails again…they always have and it seems like they always will!!! It seems like McCain was on Georgia’s mind! We still have a long way to go down here…but one day THE SOUTH will choose wisely!!
PEACE
D. Scott why do get your pictures LICHTENED to make you look like M. JACKSON? When I met you, your are as black as OPRHA. you ain’t a LITE BLACK but you want to act like your are. Don’t call white prejudice when all blacks know they want to be LITESKIN because many blacks try to use creams and dyes to change the darkskin of their babies. Grow some real hair and quit stealing form horses asses to put on your nappy head.
Jeff (I guess the rest of the country wasn’t as smart as the Georgia residents. I’ve never been more disapointed with my fellow Americans.)
I would challenge you on that one in the most strenuous terms:
Somone on CNN actually used the word ‘Confederacy’ as a holdout in American politics (and culture) today.
It forces us to face the unpleasant fact that, when you look back on the Civil War and then the Civil Rights era of the 20th C, it becomes apparent that it falls to the Northern and Western states to lead the South by the nose. The rest of the country are the South’s superiors, and the South can only follow their lead.
You had your run for 8 years and made a mess of the country- Your guy started an unnecessary war, violated the constitution, disregarded the well-being of American citizens and citizens of the world, and nearly bankrupted the country. The American people have spoken tonight and we have thoroughly rejected the conservative ideology. We have a Democratic president and large majorities in the House and Senate. Young voters and Hispanics voters will continue to widen the divide in our favor unless you reconsider your flawed perspectives. The national nightmare is over. Now progress begins. President Obama and the Democratic leaders will usher us to a new era. We will once again be the country that the world looks up to. Congratulations, President Obama.
On another note, there was a mentally challenged gentleman at our precinct today. He couldn’t read or even understand what the machines displayed. His “handler” was taking the guys finger and pushing the screen for him. That just doesn’t make any sense.
Is there any common sense left in this country. Oh yeah I forgot, Obama is going to pay for my gas, mortgage, and the rest of my household bills. How silly of me.
McCain is making a very gracious and unifying concession speech. Your 11:12 cheapens it greatly and promotes the divisions that you claim you want to bridge.
One Voice,
Does this mean you’ll quit threatening to hack into our personal data and harm our families? Somehow I doubt it. Your ilk doesn’t change.
I’ve got a suggestion that might relieve some of the angst among us.
Those of you who support the bombing, invasion, occupation, destruction and rebuilding of Iraq, and support the militry-industrial complex just pretend that your tax dollars go toward those efforts.
Those of us that support investing in America’s infrastructure, education, transportion, health care, environment, elder care, housing, nutrition, jobs, technology, clean and renewable energy, etc. will pretend our tax dollars go toward those efforts.
Sadly, we’re still going to have to borrow a trillion dollars this fiscal year to provide it all. But maybe next year Congress can start seriously whittling away at the deficit.
Sorry dude, you’ve been in a time warp. The sh1T started 8 years ago with W. The ballots this year have been used as toilet paper to clean your Conserva-turd a*******e$.
rw, You still haven’t realized that I wasn’t the Anonymous Legendary Wanker? Inspector Clouseau you are not. I’m a teacher, family man, and doctoral student. I have too much going on to distract myself with marginalized cult followers like yourself and the likes of andi. Did I mention how pleased I am with the American people’s choice of the new president?
The better man actually lost. He served in Vietnam, stayed behind in the Hanoi Hilton when he could have left. Served our country honorably since the 1970’s and has written several pieces of law. Obama can give a good speech and thats about it. Yeah the better man obviously won tonight. Whatever we get over the next four years, we deserve. Maybe Bill Ayers will be the Secretary of Homeland Defense.
So glad I left your ridiculous backward redneck state in 2004. After being exposed to free thought for nearly five years here in CA (gasp), i realize how small and foolish so many Ga residents sound.
All I can say is black folk busted their butts for this country (and did it for free the first 100 years or so). The fact that they haven’t all abandoned America after all we’ve put them through shows they love this country too.
Barrack isn’t going to ruin this country. We white people have already done that the last 8 years. This guy offers a new start. Let’s grab a hold and do something with it.
So, don’t freak out people. We picked the best guy for the job and he will serve us honorably.
I don’t agree with obama but i will congratulate and support him. now for the big question: WILL AFRICAN-AMERICANS NOW BE AMERICANS AND WILL THEY NOW USE THE TERM MY COUNTRY AND MY PRESIDENT? ARE THERE ANY EXCUSES LEFT? sorry - 2 questions.

LOL. I love hypocrisy. It makes me laugh.
Apparently, “big” people who are “free thinkers” like to make crude and witless ad hominem attacks on strangers. Tell us more, oh enlightened one.
By PI$$edonbyaDAWG I like your new name better. I feel better every time I read your, your, ENGLISH??? I presume you won’t need to worry about any new vaporware tax laws since your mother’s still paying for your treatments, I hope. When are you going to replace that tattered old Confederate flag on the back of your pickup with a white flag???
“McCain is making a very gracious and unifying concession speech. Your 11:12 cheapens it greatly and promotes the divisions that you claim you want to bridge.”
McCain conceded politely.
Your hyper-emotional division, that nasty cheapening is all made better now.
Better go out and buy guns before January, b/c they are going to be outlawed soon. Better cashout your investments or otherwise the govt is going to take them away from you. Time to start looking for a govt job, b/c in 2 years. They will be the only ones hiring. Forget the Constitution it’s dead and so is our Grand Republic.
On 2nd thought. I give him 4 years and he is out on his a**. The sun will come up tomorrow and politics as usual will continue.
I was being sarcastic dude. Easy now. I think it will be more of the same. I have voted for Democrats AND Republicans. Not anymore. I think we need a 3rd party to get my hope for LESS govt. Neither party is for less govt. Nice with the insults. I was trying to be funny. Don’t take yourself too seriously:=). I sure stopped taking my self that serious. Let’s have a beer and celebrate America!
Congratulations Libs. You win. As Corporal said earlier, we’ll treat Obama with the respect the office deserves unless he gives reason not to as Clinton did.
This day will certainly go down in history. Not because of the color of Obama’s skin, but as the day the loser class took over this nation and socialism took a giant leap forward. Good luck with it. It hasn’t worked worth a crap anywhere else in the world, but maybe you can figure out how to change that here. Not likely, but maybe…
The sun will rise tomorrow and God will stil be on the throne.
This election was wrapped up from the moment McCain chose Palin. People are
fed up with stupidity in high office,
especially since the economy is in
such bad shape. Expect never to hear
from that awful woman again.
We did it!!!! The poor and middle class have thrown out the elitists. The era of trickle down economics is now over and the Supreme Court will be taken back from the conservatives. The rich will finally pay their fair share of taxes instead of the hard working majority of low income Americans who will get a tax cut (yes you brainwashed Republicans, a tax cut and not an increase). Health coverage and education will be a right and not a luxury. Yes, we still have a ways to go but the republicans have been isolated to the South with this election and slowly but surely, will also be transformed, starting with Florida today (we also took back the Rocky Mountain states and the Rustbelt states). As a lifelong democrat, I will savor this moment until the day I die.
Chris C - huh? The “rich”, a very small percentage of working people, already pay 70% of all income taxes, what do you consider their fair share - 100%? You seem to be a little math-challenged. If you really knew the “rich”, you would find them to be a frugal lot, probably how they got “rich”. 90% of low-to-middle income people I know (family, friends, neighbors, co-workers) drive new cars, live in new houses, have new furniture, have large flat-screen TVs, have huge credit card debt, on and on. They wouldn’t dream of saving a dime and being responsible for building their own wealth. The wealth envy thing is very, very tiresome now, grow up and get a brain. Ignorance is not pretty.
OldLady - Income Tax is only one of MANY federal taxes. What percentage of ALL taxes do the richest 1% pay? Last I heard it was around 45%.
Also, what I believe Chris was refering to: What percentage of their total incomes do the rich pay in taxes? I bet it’s a much lower percentage than real working Americans pay since capital gains and dividend taxes are much lower than taxes on EARNED income.
And people wonder why the work ethic in this country has gone to hell. You pay less in taxes off of your gambling winnings from Wall Street than you will doing an honest days work.

To My Conservative Friends Out There
Save your keystrokes and let them revel in their victory.
Dark days ahead but we will prevail.

Swami Dave,
I would rather the Democrats had their 60 Senators than 57 or 58. They’ll nearly always be able to peel off enough Republicans to get to 60 and they’ll still be able to blame Republicans for any failure.
The best hope is that they decide to blow up the filibuster altogether with the misguided notion that they have a lifetime mandate.

NOVEMBER 5TH ETIQUETTE
After watching the final debate the other night, it dawned on me that Obama could actually win this thing. If that happens, there will be a lot of people (some of our co-workers included) who will be afraid that an Obama presidency will usher in the end of days. They’ll be watching us on November 5th (the day after the election) for signs of the end times.
To keep the peace and keep a lot of folks from getting nervous, I think we should develop a list of acceptable celebrations and behaviors we should probably avoid - at least for the first few days:
2 No high-fives - at least not unless the area is clear and there are no witnesses
No laughing at the McCain/Palin supporters
No calling in sick on November 5th. They’ll get nervous if too many of us don’t show up.
We’re allowed to give each other knowing winks or nods in passing. Just try to keep from grinning too hard.
No singing loudly, We’ve come this Far By Faith (it will be acceptable to hum softly)
No bringing of barbeque ribs or fried chicken for lunch in the company lunchroom for at least a week (no chittlings at all) (this may make us seem too ethnic)
No leaving kool-aid packages at the water fountain (this might be a sign that poor folks might be getting a break through)
No Cupid Shuffle during breaks (this could indicate a little too much excitement)
Please no Moving on Up music (we are going to try to remain humble)
No doing the George Jefferson dance (unless you’re in your office with the door closed)
Please try not to yell——BOOOO YAH!
Just in case you’re wondering, Doing the Running Man, cabbage patch, or a backhand spring on the highway is 100% okay.
Please don’t wear your OBAMA T-shirt the day after he wins. They(McCain supporters) will think we’re mocking them.——
Do not fix your mouth to say to the McCain/Palin supporters:
“Y’all know he was old and crazy and she didn’t have the sense God gave a goose, so get over it.” (they probably do know this, but that’s just rubbing it in
No “HOW YA LIKE ME NOW” OR “BAM!!! IN YOUR FACE” to your co-workers
who let’s just say were not on the winning team! Let’s do all that the night before and the following Sunday at Big Momma’s house when we all get together and have a serious Sunday dinner and truly give thanks for the past, present and future, the past that people fought to bring us this far, the present for the dream being realized and the future that will look much brighter for the next generation….peace & blessings people.
Even today, it was hard to keep from smiling.
Keep it going. Did we miss anything?
What time will we be dancing in the strrets?
No disrespect to McCain. Last year it was tears, but not like these.
Tears of joy.

Obama, baby!
I’m sorry. I’m kind of giddy.
I’m dry! Bye!

Decent concession speech by McCain. Too bad he ran a dishonorable campaign and has forever tarnished his reputation. The better man won.

My post said:
McCain conceded.
And you say:
