Phillies win the Series….

always a great, fun scene on the field when a team takes it all.

Except of course when it’s the Yankees. But that hasn’t happened in a while.

Which is good.

Congrats Phillies! Now please schedule your parade for next Tuesday.

I have to agree with you on this one. Being a Cub fan though I couldn’t bring myself to watch any more baseball after their crash and burn job.

Except for the Obama infomercial that series was about the most boring thing I have ever seen.

I know one thing, their parade won’t be scheduled for next Wednesday in case there are extracurricular sporting events (aka riots) by Obama fans.

Now if Obama can just close out his election. He will make his family, his party and his country proud.

After the disastrous last 7 years, 9 months and 9 days, maybe we should repeal the 22nd Amendment. Clinton had 8 more good years left in him.

You mean the family he can find, everyone in his party except Hillary and Bill and tens of thousands of others and only 50% of this country as a whole.

Correct??

Read it and weep.

I don’t think we’ll have to worry about a riot, but the partying might get out of hand.

I haven’t been much of a baseball fan since the strike.

Damascus, Syria —- Syria threatened Wednesday to stop cooperating with the U.S. and Baghdad on security along its Iraqi border if there are any more American raids on Syrian territory like a weekend attack that killed eight people.-Urinal/Jihad

Now you tell me, if we have to blow up a house on their side of the border, how much “cooperation” will we be losing if we told them to GFT?

Maybe cooperation with these ragheads is the problem to begin with, no?

Washington —- Military planners now think they may need to send more than double the number of extra troops initially believed needed to help fight the war in Afghanistan. The buildup in the increasingly violent campaign could amount to more than 20,000 troops rather than the originally planned 10,000, two senior defense officials said Wednesday.-Urinal/Jihad

I recall, too, the media’s screwup in 2004, when exit-polling data leaked in the afternoon. It showed President Bush losing Pennsylvania by 17 points, New Hampshire by 18, behind among white males in Florida, and projected South Carolina and Colorado too close to call. It looked like the GOP would be wiped out.

Bob Shrum famously became the first to congratulate Sen. John Kerry by addressing him as “President Kerry.” Commentators let the exit polls color their coverage for hours until their certainty was undone by actual vote tallies.-Rove, WSJ

Now they are declaring Oblahma president days before all the polls even open.

Let’s prove them wrong, again.

The last national poll that showed Mr. McCain ahead came out Sept. 25 and the 232 polls since then have all shown Mr. Obama leading. Only one time in the past 14 presidential elections has a candidate won the popular vote and the Electoral College after trailing in the Gallup Poll the week before the election: Ronald Reagan in 1980.-Rove, WSJ

Let’s win one for the Gipper!

I lived a half-mile from Philadelphia in the summer of 1976, and someone gave me their season ticket to the upper level of Veterans Stadium. Lousy stadium, NL East Champs, great baseball fans - unlike Turner, the Vet fans could drink and know what was going on on the field.

Without the sissy habit of dumping beer on each other.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama was less than upfront in his half-hour commercial Wednesday night about the costs of his programs and the crushing budget pressures he would face in office.-Breitbart

No!

THE SPIN: “I’ve offered spending cuts above and beyond their cost.” THE FACTS: The nonpartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates Obama’s policy proposals would add a net $428 billion to the deficit over four years—and that analysis accepts the savings he claims from spending cuts.

THE SPIN: “Here’s what I’ll do. Cut taxes for every working family making less than $200,000 a year (what happened to the 250 G?) THE FACTS: His proposals—the tax cuts, the low-cost loans, the $15 billion a year he promises for alternative energy, and more—cost money, and the country could be facing a record $1 trillion deficit next year.

THE FACTS: Obama was once and very often definitive about getting combat troops out in 16 months (At times during the primaries, he promised to do so within a year). More recently, without backing away explicitly from the 16-month withdrawal pledge, he has talked of the need for flexibility. In the primaries, it would have been a jarring departure for him to have said merely that “we’ve got to look at” ending the war. As for Iraq’s surplus, it’s true that Iraq could end up with a surplus that large, but that hasn’t happened yet.

Liar.

Michael Ettlinger of John Podesta’s Center for American Progress feverishly derides CRA critics as “antigovernment ideologues,” while Business Week’s Aaron Pressman calls them “know-nothings.” Not to be outdone, ACORN ally House Financial Services Committee chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.) says criticism of the law is tantamount to attacking poor people and minorities. Cynthia Tucker of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution concurs, arguing that pointing out the flaws of the CRA constitutes “playing the race card.”

ACORN’s overall strategy has a name. It’s called the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” of manufactured crisis (named after two anti-capitalist sociologists) and it calls for packing the welfare rolls to encourage dependency on the government and to overload it with financial demands in order to hasten the collapse of American capitalism.-AmSpec

Why does the GOP go apopleptic about ACORN and their registering voters?

To understand their motivation, one merely looks at the basic, “secret”, sacred tenet of the GOP, these fourteen words that they find magical:

“We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.”

Getting out of Iraq will save 20%.

Petraeus is working on another deal to get the bad guys on our side and let bygones be bygones; similar to what he did with the Sons of Iraq.

Until women and children stop dying in Afghanistan and Pakistan no amount of troop strength will be enough.
