Is Palin already eyeing 2012?

The post-election narrative begins to take shape early…. from the Times of London:

With his electoral prospects fading by the day, Senator John McCain has fallen out with his vice-presidential running mate about the direction of his White House campaign.

McCain has become alarmed about the fury unleashed by Sarah Palin, the moose-hunting “pitbull in lipstick”, against Senator Barack Obama. Cries of “terrorist” and “kill him” have accompanied the tirades by the governor of Alaska against the Democratic nominee at Republican rallies….

Palin, 44, has led the character attacks on Obama in the belief that McCain may be throwing away the election and her chance of becoming vice-president. Her supporters think that if the Republican ticket loses on November 4, she should run for president in 2012.

A leading Republican consultant said: “A lot of conservatives are grumbling about what a poor job McCain is doing. They are rolling their eyes and saying, ‘Yes, a miracle could happen, but at this rate it is all over’.

“Sarah Palin is no fool. She sees the same thing and wants to salvage what she can. She is positioning herself for the future. Her best days could be in front of her. She wants to look as though she was the fighter, the person with the spunk who was out there taking it to the Democrats.”

Let’s take a look at actual unleashed fury, shall we?

On another note, what exactly is wrong with a President and Vice President disagreeing with each other and voicing their concerns to each other? Sounds like a good idea to me.

The Obamedia is attempting to set yet another false narrative: The narrative of the McCain “mob.” McCain-Palin rallies are out of control, they wheedle. Conservatives are mad! They’re yelling mean things about Obama and calling him names! It’ scaaaaary!

This is insane rage — Madonna bashing Sarah Palin and shrieking “I will kick her as-s:”

This is insane rage — Sandra Bernhard bashing Sarah Palin and cursing her head off with hate warping her crazed face:

This is violent escalation — Palin-hating artwork designating her an “M.I.L.P.” (Mother I’d Like to Punch). Hat tip: Edge of Forever:

This is insane rage and violent escalation — trendy “ABORT Sarah Palin” stickers:

This is self-admitted insane rage: Why Sarah Palin Incites Near-Violent Rage In Normally Reasonable Women.

Reader Monica M. sent me a link to the Democratic Underground’s latest thread for commenters to come up with nicknames and posters to slime GOP Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin — and then to “spread [them] all over the ‘net.” There are now nearly 100 filthy, hate-filled responses and counting. Among the “nicer” entries: “Cruella,” “Gidget,” “Governor Jesus Camp,” “VPILF,” “Fertilla the Huntress,” “Iditabroad,” and “KILLER PYSCHO FUNDIE B* FROM HELL!!”

And the sickest attack of them all — mocking Palin for being a nursing mom:

This is insane rage — deranged left-wing photographer Jill Greenberg sabotaging an Atlantic magazine photo shoot of John McCain and defacing the pictures on her website:

This is insane rage and violent escalation — pointing a fake gun at the head of a Sarah Palin likeness sitting next to a cardboard cutout of her daughter in a museum display:

It’s about time:

McCain said he and running mate Sarah Palin would continue campaigning hard in the three weeks left before Election Day, in places like Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Nevada and Colorado. The two planned a joint appearance Monday in Virginia, a Republican stronghold turned battleground this time. “We’re going to spend a lot of time and after I whip his you-know-what in this debate, we’re going to be going out 24/7,” McCain said.

He’s baaaaaccckkkk.

Her fifteen minutes are up.

I think if the dems can actually do something for the people like this:

“WASHINGTON — After consulting with Barack Obama, Democratic leaders are likely to call Congress back to work after the election in hopes of passing legislation that would include extended jobless benefits, money for food stamps and possibly a tax rebate, officials said Saturday.”

They will remain in power. If they govern like the gop with socialism for the rich, Americans will finally look for more parties.

Lets hope we still have a country in 2012.

Times of London was also the paper that broke the story that the McCain campaign was seriously considering a shotgun wedding for Bristol + Levi before the election as a way to distract people further. Didn’t happen. I doubt the truthiness of the article.

I don’t doubt that there’s definite dissention in the ranks. The McCain people managing McCain aren’t all that tight with the ex-Bush people managing Palin. It’s likely that there’s not good vibes going on internally, given the disjointed campaign being run.

As for Palin considering a serious run at President in 2012: Like Huckabee, she won’t make it out of the primary season if she decides to do that. And for many of the same reasons.

I wonder if we’ll ever hear of this from the Urinal/DNC or if we do, will they twist it into something harmless:

The presidential campaign got a little too hot for two Portland men who were arrest early Saturday morning, Oct. 11, and charged with burning a John McCain campaign sign in Southeast Portland.

Portland Fire and Rescue investigators said the two men made a Molotov cocktail and threw it at the sign in the 7900 block of Southeast 17th Avenue.-The Bee

Imagine for just a moment had a McCain supporter done this.

I knew it! I knew it! Bookman cannot get his mind off Sarah Palin. Here we go AGAIN.

He had to go all the way to London to get some good “stuff”.

When did Palin and McCain allow reporters in their private plans and conversations? The LONDON TIMES is making up its own conversations. Journalism has become pure fiction.

They have even decided Palin is TRYING to disrupt the campaign so she can run as President later. Has Democratic propaganda even infiltrated London?

So the “spectre” item did not work as Dems try to rip McCain. Now we get the “inside friction” try. That will not work either. OH, and I forgot the hired hooligan bit to set things up at rallies. Democrats are getting lower than the proverbial snake’s belly.

Where is Obama? Sitting on cloud nine while his cohorts do the dirty work? Where is Biden? Where are the decent Democrats? They are getting harder and harder to find. How long are they going to perpetuate what started as Bush hate and now is McCain Palin hate? How long before Jimmy Carter speaks up? Sam Nunn?? Are they going to say nothing while the USA goes down the drain with all this trash??

The silence over this promotion of hate and intrigue tells us a lot about the Democratic Party. None of it is good.

Your posting of examples of left-wing rage is the first time I’ve heard of any of them. Leftie fringes. Same as rightie fringes.

You have overlooked the fact that Sarah Palin’s hostility is obvious and open, not hidden in obscure internet “news.” She delivers her implications and innuendo from a stage, in front of the national media, and directed to an audience that is as ignorant and bigoted as any you’d find in Germany in 1932.

The national media calls her on it, and — whoa! — they’re picking on poor little innocent Sarah!

I don’t think she’ll run, especially if she’s censured by the Republican legislature in January. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see her resign effective January 1st, as part of a deal to put in Parnell, effectively guaranteeing the Republicans a 2010 win, and possibly helping Lisa Murkowski (who’s no friend of Palin’s).

If she’s smart, she’ll nail down a book contract, get a good ghost writer, have the book out close enough after Inauguration Day, while the crazies are at the height of sulking, and spend 2009 doing book tours and appearances.

Mr. Bookman, that is really quite an astounding assertion the blokes are making. That Palin would intentionally “throw” the election to get her chance in 2012?

(Speaking of good laughs: In describing her beautiful home, Sarah Palin says that when she stands on her porch she can see the moon. You know what that means — she’s now qualified to be an astronaut.)

Seriously, after this long term debacle of an experiment called neo-conservatism, what realistically would her chances be???

I have voted for a Republican president in my entire lifetime exactly once, in 1984. (Though I hated myself for it.)

And had this awful Dem/Rep duopoly succeeded again in using abusive litigation and other groundless tactics to bankrupt and keep Ralph Nader off the ballot this year, I would consider strongly voting for McCain.

But I think his odd choice of VP, as much or more than anything, will ultimately cost him this election and even the possibility of my vote.

H&ll, even Bob Barr may be a better option. ( I must be losing my mind, but at least he’s had a major epiphany and he understands and respects the Constitution!)

RE: Liberal rage

I had seen none of the given examples of “liberal rage” from AC/DC or Michelle Malkin because I don’t look for them — the same way I don’t look for conservative rage.

There seems to be a misunderstanding that actual candidates — as opposed to fringes and columnists — have an ethical obligation to participate in public events that do not incite screams of “treason!” or “terrorists!” That they don’t just shrug when supporters and introductory speakers refer to their opponents as “Osama” and “terrorists.”

If McCain or Palin made speeches devoted to their plans to get us out of the cesspool they and their party got us into (instead of the personal attacks McCain pretends to disdain), I doubt there would be audience rancor.

Instead, theirs is the message of “no change, no way.” That’s why the Republicans are going to lose, why the country will finally win. America — not just Democrats — is fed up with the same old divisive, ignorant garbage.

Investors’ Real Fear: A Socialist Tsunami

By INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Friday, October 10, 2008 4:20 PM PT

The Crash: “Why has the market dropped so much?” everyone asks. What is it about the specter of our first socialist president and the end of capitalism as we know it that they don’t understand?

The freeze-up of the financial system — and government’s seeming inability to thaw it out — are a main concern, no doubt. But more people are also starting to look across the valley, as they say, at what’s in store once this crisis passes.

And right now it looks like the U.S., which built the mightiest, most prosperous economy the world has ever known, is about to turn its back on the free-enterprise system that made it all possible.

It isn’t only that the most anti-capitalist politician ever nominated by a major party is favored to take the White House. It’s that he’ll also have a filibuster-proof Congress led by politicians who are almost as liberal.

Throw in a media establishment dedicated to the implementation of a liberal agenda, and the smothering of dissent wherever it arises, and it’s no wonder panic has set in.

What is that agenda? It starts with a tax system right out of Marx: A massive redistribution of income — from each according to his ability, to each according to his need — all in the name of “neighborliness,” “patriotism,” “fairness” and “justice.”

It continues with a call for a new world order that turns its back on free trade, has no problem with government controlling the means of production, imposes global taxes to support continents where our interests are negligible, signs on to climate treaties that will sap billions more in U.S. productivity and wealth, and institutes an authoritarian health care system that will strip Americans’ freedoms and run up costs.

All the while, it ensures that nothing — absolutely nothing — will be done to secure a sufficient, terror-proof supply of our economic lifeblood — oil — a resource we’ll need much more of in the years ahead.

The businesses that create jobs and generate wealth are already discounting the future based on what they know about Obama’s plans to raise income, capital gains, dividend and payroll taxes, and his various other economy-crippling policies. Which helps explain why world stock markets have been so topsy-turvy.

But don’t take our word for it. One hundred economists, five Nobel winners among them, have signed a letter noting just that:

“The prospect of such tax-rate increases in 2010 is already a drag on the economy,” they wrote, noting that the potential of higher taxes in the next year or two is reducing hiring and investment.

It was “misguided tax hikes and protectionism, enacted when the U.S. economy was weak in the early 1930s,” the economists remind us, that “greatly increased the severity of the Great Depression.”

We can’t afford to repeat these grave errors.

Yet much of the electorate is determined to vote for the candidate most likely to make them. If he wins, what we consider to be a crisis in today’s economy will be a routine affair in tomorrow’s.

hillbilly moron, Can you please explain to us idiot conservatives, that’s sarcasm by the way, how democrats have helped minorities? I want clear answers. Because this is how conservatives few liberal “outreach” to minorities.

1: Democrats have kept blacks in the dark and “in their place” for years.

2: Affirmative action has made black people stupid. Oh the humanity! Here’s how: Not only does affirmative action keep people from being high achievers, it also makes them feel insecure in the work world knowing that they didn’t do so hot on test scores.

3: Only in the democrat party could you have a member of the KKK serving NOW and saying the word n!gger on national tv.

4: The subprime lending mess. Yes, its Barney Franks fault. Who got the loans to buy houses they could not afford? That’s right, illegal aliens and poor blacks. Now, feel free to call me a racist.

5: Democrats tell poor blacks that they need democrats in order to live. IE: ghettos and project homes created by the democrats to keep blacks “in their place.”

6: WELFARE! Created by FDR, welfare has kept poor blacks poor by splitting families and telling poor black woman to have 10 babies so that the government can send her a check.

7: Abortion: Democrats have pushed abortion on poor black women for years. Prove me wrong.

Now hillbilly, I know it’s a lot to swallow but you’ve been swallowing sh#$ for years so I’m sure you can handle it.

Blame it on Barney Frank? NOT!

THINK The minorities are going to be a minor part of the problem. Jay showed recently that the foreclosures are in all neighborhoods. It takes 10 $100k bad loans to equal one $1 million dollar failure. It’s the up and coming rich wanna-bes that are a bigger part. Greed, lack of oversight and fraud are the culprits, as well.

TN Gelding, UH, ok. Do you not understand that Freddie and Fannie are BOTH government run banks? Barny Frank is waste deep in both of them. In 2004 Bush and Mccain said there needed to be regulation and oversight. Barney scoffed at them. How dare they! We are where we are. You can keep yourself in the dark as long as you want but facts are facts. Greed? Banks were bullied by democrats and “community organizers” such as ACORN to give out loans to people who could not afford them. Most of your so-called “rich wannabes” are still in their homes. More illegal aliens bought these homes!

I must say Jay for the first time ever I agree with you. Sarah Palin is eyeing 2012 but we probably disagree on the reasons. I think McCain will only want one term and Palin will run for the top prize in 2012. In case you haven’t noticed with the up tick in attacks recently the polls are again getting tight. The McCain/Palin ticket is a well oiled machine and they are both in agreement on their campaign strategy. Anything that will make libs think there’s divisiveness I’m sure you’ll report Jay. Without any sort of proof I might add. Did media matters or daily cos report that? I think anyone with half a brain realizes that if they are within the margin of error on Election Day it will spell defeat for “the one”. The closer people look at Obama and all his radical criminal ties the more they dislike him. What needs to be brought out more is this though. Do you really want two of the most far left loons in America running our great country? Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid. Because that will surely happen if Obama gets elected…

I am an independent, so neither candidate is good for me, but I must voice my opinion of the failure of both parties. The people who keep voting democrat, and their lives do not get any better, this is due to the misconception that the dimocrats are for the people. They are NOT; otherwise the people that vote for them would not be in low income housing. Look at Michigan the highest unemployment and lowest wages in the country and they keep voting democrat, why? Shouldn’t they have helped them? They do not! As for the republicans, they have lost their way in the woods and can’t find a way out. This lie that they are for cooperate America and not you is very misleading, corporations do NOT pay taxes, they collect them from the consumer, yet the dimocrats still can’t figure that out; and their constituents seem to believe that corporations pay taxes. If our education system worked then we would have more than one party, because the 2 we have are only one great bunch of losers and we need more parties to make our country great again. Vote out all incumbents and put in any body but a dimaocrat or republican.

That was 2004. This is 2008. Much happened in between.

It was the loan originators that were greedy and fraudulent. The rating firms were negligent as well. Fannie and Freddie thought they were buying investment grade securities.

Mrs.Godzilla, please understand how stupid you sound. The mortgage loans are put into bonds that are then bought by entities like Fannie and Freddy and then resold and people make money from servicing these accounts. If you are a bank and are forced by the government to make loans, by the way the dimocrats forced the law change, to people that can’t repay them then the money merry-go-round stops working. It was regulation not deregulation that caused this problem. Now every body in this BLOG knows that you are a breeding heart liberal that will vote for Obama so you can keep getting your welfare check so please take a day off so we don’t have to read your cut and paste dribble.

I see Jack-legg continues the classless comments of people who support Democrats are are welfare recepients!

I guess all those people in California, Florida and Nevada who have more foreclosures than other states all have poor folks who purchased those $300,000 to $1,000,000 dollar homes.

I guess the poor folks make-up the majority of foreclosures of the high-end housing market.

When referring to people it is “their” and not “there”.
