The horses are now in the starting gate, and ….

Nothing that has happened until now is going to have much impact on the final outcome of the presidential race. These past few weeks have just been the warmups, the prelude to the real thing.

But the conventions are about to begin, announcements about running mates loom in the near future, and the McCain and Obama camps have now agreed on a debate schedule and formats.

Four debates — three between McCain and Obama, and one between their running mates — with the first presidential debate on Sept. 26, focusing on foreign policy and national security and moderated by Jim Lehrer of PBS.

Then a town-hall format with Tom Brokaw as the moderator on Oct. 7, and the final presidential debate on Oct. 15, with Bob Schieffer of CBS on economic issues.

Let the games begin!!!!

It’s gonna be a slaughter:

“Does a guy who made more than $4 million last year, just got back from vacation on a private beach in Hawaii and bought his own million-dollar mansion with the help of a convicted felon really want to get into a debate about houses?” McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said in a statement. “Does a guy who worries about the price of arugula and thinks regular people ‘cling’ to guns and religion in the face of economic hardship really want to have a debate about who’s in touch with regular Americans?”

Despite this betrayal, Lieberman remained loyal to the Democrats, caucusing with them and thus casting the deciding vote that made Reid rather than Kentucky Republican Mitch McConnell majority leader. For this they plan to repay him by giving him the boot once they no longer need one man with courage to make a majority. If this were really a matter of principle, they’d have booted him in January 2007, when it would have cost them something.

You know the libs were the ones that started all this nonsense about “bipartisanship,” most Conservatives would rather stomp a pinko than cooperate with them, so why do these hack dimwitocrats foam at the mouth when one of theirs crosses the aisle?

“He has a close personal relationship with John McCain. I don’t fully understand why he does,” said Hairy Reed, who said Lieberman called Tuesday from the Republic of Georgia to alert him to the move.

Greetings folks.

I’ve been out of town, I drove down to DC through Central Pennsylvania.

The motto of Central PA? “Thank Gawd for West Virginia”.

Plenty of the folks there don’t need a rubber suit to look like the missing link - just like north Georgia. These are the morons and superstitious cretins that elected Rick Santorum, remember. Lots of McCain signs in amongst the trailers and the shacks. These cretins don’t need no stinkin’ debate, their little empty minds are all made up already.

Anyhow, while DC is a great place, it is nice to be back. I drove back along the coast so I didn’t have to look at all the squalor and stupidity again.

Anyhow, now that I’m back, my kind regards to all the “teenie weinie” intellects here, as well as on the AJC editorial board… you know who you are.

I hate reading house bills Taxpayer. It would appear as though some funds were shifted about because the public wasn’t asked to vote on a bond issue or somethin’? Land/Water management was put on the back burner waiting on a State-wide Water Management Plan that was to be completed in July, 2007, and then considered by the General Assembly during the 2008 legislative session.

What……..did that not happen?

Why don’t you move down here to Clayton County. Our water treatment process is nationally renowned. We’ve had engineers from Japan come over to take a looksee. We use the land application filtering method, then recycle. All the other metro counties are on water restriction, we’ve got more than we need.

During a break, attorneys from both sides met and decided they would rather try to reach a settlement than go forward with the hearing.

Rutter said she is prohibited from discussing the details of the mutual agreement.

Was there a settlement or not?

When they asked Ms. Rutter to cease and desist, with her website and yard signs, she said no? After there was a mutual agreement to settle?

*”I said no,” she said. “I felt it would be a disservice to my community. We’re not going to back down.”

Once more the class-envy, wealth-hating, success-is-evil, non-working, handout empowered crowd makes a non-issue out of the ‘how many houses…’ thing on McCain. If, which I doubt, you listened to the actual audio, his response was more like he wanted to be exactly accurate so the welfare sucking crowd would not do what they have now done, and was going to give detailed information about such to the interviewer.

But in true Dimwitocrat fashion, the entitlement party has tried to stir social unrest, because without social unrest, they have no appeal.

Have you seen the new ‘housing’ for the Dimwits constructed in Denver by the city for the Dimwit Convention? Expecting trouble are they? Or perhaps is it that they only wish to provide temporary quarters commensurate with what the non-homeless entitlement crowd has at home?

Word is Obamaniacs are secretly trying to install teleprompters all around the stages for the debates with McCain. Apparently coming off as an ill-prepared 4th grader in California didn’t settle too well with them.

The Rick Warren debate mattered. Why? It took place at exactly the moment America was starting to pay attention. This is what it looked like by the end of the night: Mr. McCain, normal. Mr. Obama, not normal. You’ve seen this discussed elsewhere. Mr. McCain was direct and clear, Mr. Obama both more careful and more scattered. But on abortion in particular, Mr. McCain seemed old-time conservative, which is something we all understand, whether we like such a stance or not, and Mr. Obama seemed either radical or dodgy. He wouldn’t vote to ban partial-birth abortions because we must contemplate a rigorous legal parsing of any and all possible implications regarding emanations and of the viability of Roe v. Wade?

As I watched I thought: How about “Let the baby live”? Don’t parse it. Just “Let the baby live.”

As to the question when human life begins, the answer to which is above Mr. Obama’s pay grade, let’s go on a little tear. You know why they call it birth control? Because it’s meant to stop a birth from happening nine months later. We know when life begins. Everyone who ever bought a pack of condoms knows when life begins.

To put it another way, with conception something begins. What do you think it is? A car?

Here is the opening statement from Hussein Obama at the first debate:

“Heeeellloooo, er, ur, ugh, huh, (sniff), huh, er, my naaaaame is, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute, Barack Ooooooobammmmma. (where be the gd teleprommmmmpty at)

O Martyrs! The time of your cries of pain rings in our ears, Enduring, continuing, eternal, The Islamic Republic of Iran.

Wait a minute!

Wait a minute!

Wait a minute!

Wait a minute!

One of my boyz held up the wrong cue cards! It’s not my fault!”

(chimes in Hillary by his side) “It’s a vast right wing conspiracy! But since you’re going to put my name up for nomination anyway…..”

CHAOS ERUPTS! The brand new Democratic housing built by Denver just for this convention overflows, as do the toilets!

The Honorable Stephanie Tubbs-Jones from Ohio nominates Jesse Jackson as the only viable alternative candidate!

Wait a minute! Isn’t she dead? Sadly, yes, but she did donate her organs after her passing, and one of the recipients (allegedly an African American male named Shabazz something-or-other, who also he announced he was running for her now vacant seat) made the nomination, so under Democratic National Committee guidelines, that still counts as if she did it!

Jesse Jackson as Democrat nominee for President of the United States! Hallelujah, Hallelujah!!!!! Rumor has it he will nominate Nancy Pelosi as his VP choice, but that cannot be confirmed; she was last seen behind stage recieving multiple Botox facial injections, and loading what appears to be a water pistol, or is it the real thing??????

Trash,

I wonder if you have ever done anything for your country. I wonder if you have any idea how McCain suffered in his FIVE YEARS plus as a POW. If you don’t like him or his politics, don’t vote for him. Your comments show your ignorance and supreme lack of respect for a person who has served his country well. When you have walked in his shoes you might have a right to an opinion about his character and integrity. Until then, you are indeed a worthless POS with a mental problem. No wonder Jay jerked your chain.

Bosch,

Kerry served his country in a war zone for much less than a full tour of duty, collected three purple hearts under dubious conditions and came home to call his fellow soldiers baby killers and lunatics. Wonder how someone like this would have survived five years at the Hilton. Anyway, Kerry is not running so the point is moot.

Let’s see, I think we’re up to about 297…

Taxpayer @ 9.06, that’s exactly the question people in attendance at McCain’s disasterous speech were asking (along with those who simply booed).

McCain just said “You can’t do it.” McCain thinks Americans are too uppity, too soft, to pick lettuce for 50 bucks an hour. It’s insulting on several levels, and it’s one issue where lefties tend to join hands with righties (over at Free Republic they’ve referred to McCain as “McLettuce,” for awhile.)

Worthless politicians — the whole lot of them but especially the Republicans. They sell their souls for campaign financing and then go before the votes claiming that they have a different soul to sell for a vote. How many souls can one Republican have. Then, they try to give the voter this song and dance about volunteering to serve their country as a politician and the first thing they do once in session is vote themselves another raise and more benefits because they’re “worth” that much and more. What another load of crap. Sickening.

FrankLee,

Neither is being the only black candidate and a socialist empty suit. I would venture to say that McCain’s “four hours of active combat” is many more than you might have spent. Being a POW does not qualify you for the White House. Being able to survive the ordeals that McCain had to endure while being a POW just might build a little character and stiffen your back a little. Trash seems to think that McCain should have been able to walk away with a broken leg, a fractured pelvis and a broken shoulder. Wow, imagine that. How is the empty suit going to deal with Putin? We seem to have a foreign relations problem that will require someone with a little backbone to keep us in the hunt. Oblama seems to forget, in his Rock Star tour, that most of the people in this world don’t particularly care for us, especially the Russians. It’s been that way for a long time. Dealing from a position of strength has always helped this country to survive. The empty suit is just not the ticket.

Taxpayer @ 7:07:

I posted a response but it’s evaporated into cyberspace. It was too long to duplicate.

I didn’t miss HB 54. You are implying that there is some collusion between ?????. I didn’t see it. What I did see were two government bureaucracies, EPD and DNR battling for control. I saw no connection between Hulsey and politicians, state or local. The article read as though Mr. Hulsey, property owner asked for legislative action to justify the government’s demands.

I’m not saying what Hulsey is doing is right. I’m just saying he, you AND I better demand legal justification for restrictions placed on our private property rights or else….

If Ms. (I’ll accept a settlement) Rutter and the community feel as though their health is at risk, they should hire themselves a hot-shot environmental attorney looking for national recognition. If not that, then contact the I.R.S…….they’d love to squeeze the turnip farmer. Ms. Rutter witnessed trucks delivering above and beyond the legal allowance. I’ll bet Mr. Hulsey made income he didn’t report.

By it’s mere existence, mankind will generate crap. When it comes to civil liberties, “One man’s crap will be another man’s puddin’.” An inconvenient reality.

Alexander said the number of trucks entering LHR decreased by about 50 percent after the consent order was issued. But she is more concerned about the long-term effects of the farm’s operations.

I think it was the EPD that said they’d been operating on the honor system. That’s typical government incompetence…….a chronic and common malady in my opinion.

The issued a consent order and Hulsey knew he was being watched by the chicken lady. Number of trucks decreased.

@@,

I see in the White County News that these folks have finally decided to take this thing to the next level. Check it out here. I’ll try to dig out a few more bits and pieces from this saga, if you are interested, and share with you as well. I’ve been reading about this for some time now and I have also sent e-mails off in search of information/confirmation from different levels of government. I’ll just say that some have replied and some replies have been “interesting”. Names like Chip Rogers, Casey Cagle, and Greg Blount show up when you look into the enacted legislation that effectively exempts this “waste recycling facility” from adequate or even common sense oversight or regulation — levels of oversight and regulation that apply to everyone else, even your facility in Clayton County, that is.

Pleasant Reading.

Some things can cause a chuckle, others a laugh, and still others an outright belly-laugh. But this stuff has had me laughing all day.

John McWhine’s campaign spokesman was complaining about Madonna’s background images during her concert. He was outraged that they would flash pictures of McWhine and Hitler and other fascists. I just can’t believe the hypocrisy.

One need only go back to the Senate race between Saxby Chambliss and Max Cleland where the GOP flashed pictures of Cleland and Osama bin Laden, claiming Cleland was “soft on terror”. Was that all? No there have been repeated instances of this GOP propaganda technique. Most recently, McWhine’s campaign ads called Obama a “celebrity” while flashing pictures of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. The implication was that these were celebrities, but the intent was to cast Obama in the same negative light in which these two “celebrities” are viewed by most voters. Character assasination works better when your policies and integrity are not sufficient to get you into the White House.

Yea, the GOP defines hypocrisy.

Thank you Madonna!!!!!!
