Some people are runnin’ scared

From the comments below:

“I love that despite Democrats like Jay Bookman who exist, those of us who are productive and recognize the rights of INDIVIDUALS can still prosper and make money in this country.

Of course, once Democrats like Jay have their way, we wont have freedom at all anymore.”

Really folks, it won’t be so bad. Don’t be scared. I mean, if we survived the last eight years, don’t you think we can survive almost anything?

Yeah it wont be so bad. It wont be like when Clinton was in office and he had 80 American citizens burned to death via FBI and BATF agents at Waco Texas.

But Bush wiretaps foreign terrorists and he’s considered “Hitler”.

Makes sense to me, man.

Cant wait for your boy to get in office and raise taxes 100%.

You know, taxes pay for s** like our military. I forgot the neocon way of doing things is to sell your children;s future to China.

Thing is, Bush has it setup where he can call you a terrorist and strip you of your constitutional rights. Even the 2nd Amendment. Our founders would be disgusted with this president and the mindless drones that follow him.

“Those that would sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither.”

Hey Andrew… you don’t have constitutional rights unless your a citzen there fella. Check out how many released combatants have been re-captured after killing our soldiers AGAIN! Explain this one to the parents and wives of our young dead patriot soldiers and marines. I guess at least we observed their constitutional rights? WISE UP MAN! People are trying to kill us all over the world. This is not some drama on nightly television. We are a nation at war! With the people at the mall.

Andrew, you better learn your founding father’s history. Google the “alien and sedition act”. Nothing has changed. The stakes are the same. Those in power will do whatever it takes to “Preserve the Union” as they define the “Union”. Including suspending Habeas Corpus, (lincoln) or sending troops, or anything, including nuking a US city (cheney) or setting a herd of stampeded buffalo upon an indian village, (nixon).

Politics is bad biz no matter who’s in charge. Someone can always claim manifest destiny or someother latin phrase and once they do that, there’s nothing anyone can do to stop the evil. “Knowlus Scrollus”. there, I just declared “Knowlus Scrollus”, which means that my comment is correct, and true, while your comment is from the terrorists and you will be arrested in five minutes. (reagan).

You will see that Republicans are in no way hiding this September when they open their convention. They have big speeches planned by prominent members of the Republican party.

Sen Larry Craig (Republican) will be speaking on the the rights Americans enjoy in the privacy of public bathroom stalls. I hear he will also be playing Taps, how touching.

Sen David Vitter (Republican) will be discussing his God given right to choose either Pampers or Huggies. He will also be discussing the need for change.

Rev Haggard will deliver the opening prayer on the right to gross displays hypocrisy. Really gross.

Unfortunately President Bush will be far far away. Ironic isn’t it? He’s being told that if he gets within 100 feet of the arena in Minneapolis-Saint Paul he will be arrested. Bush will still be speaking about rights though, to a group of Little Leaguers…..on the right way to steal a base.

I agree Abomi Nation ,

Just as Obama will be speaking on the joys of selling out our country or expounding on the benefits of “talking” to our enemies.

I also hear Michelle will also be speaking on bringing our country together as a people, as long as whitey doesn’t interfere that is.

Then there’s Hillary, speaking on the benefits of taxation without representation. She will discuss how we should all be happy, and feel priviledged, to give our money to the government because they know how to spend it much better than us.

Then closing the Democratic Convention will be the honorable Rev. Wright. He will be discussing how God has damned America, and how much he hates his country and why we should, too.

So yea, Abomi Nation, this is going to be a great campaign season.

Mr. Bookman:

It’s not eight years of Trojan Horse Obama that would be so scary. We can survive that as there are ways for a minority in Congress, career federal appointees and even the military to quietly but effectively “thwart” Presidential desires. What we can’t survive is the type of activist, international law precedent seeking judges at the District, Appellate and especially U.S. Supreme Court levels. Those philosophies and errant Constitutional decisions can effect our country for a lifetime and they have the ability to alter it beyond anything our founding fathers may have had in their worst nightmares ! THAT AND YOUR FLIPPANCY AS A SO-CALLED PROFESSIONAL NEWS EDITOR IS WHAT’S SO SCARY !!!

James Winslo Etc brings up some good points, so the Democrats must be willing to do battle in order to save the country from the damage that Bush has inflicted on this once great country. It will take some courageous but necessary acts. Unlike Bush and his evil ways, all legal.

1st thing the Dems will need to do with their super majorities in both Houses of Congress is change some rules. The Dems should take the Republican suggestion and get rid of the filibuster, immediately.

Next thing Congress will have to do is increase the number of Supreme Court Justices from 9 to 11, which of course the US Congress has the right to do. We started this country with 6 Justices and Congress has increased it to 9. Its time to go with 11 justices.

Then of course President Obama will have to appoint some non-activist judges to keep Scalia, Roberts, Thomas and Alito from destroying our Constitution any further.

It won’t be easy, but certainly must be done. We can save America. This way will be easier than using our well regulated militia.

Lets get our Rights back. Do it for the children. God Bless America!!!

To Abomi Nation:

At the risk of being accused of a “love fest” your points/actions for the democrats to take are a good plan - although we will fight you the best we can.

However, I think you meant “originalist” vs. “activist” justices for the Supreme Court.

Originalist/conservative judges interpret the Constitution as a written contract. As with any written contract it means what it said at the time it was written (it doesn’t “evolve” - Business Law 101).

Activist/liberal judges interpret the Constitution as a breathing document which can change over time and/or be interpreted using even “foreign” rulings/precedent.

To me this is a very dangerous principle that can backfire on you. Why? Because some day if conservatives control the Court they might start using “foreign precedents” YOU don’t like. That would be equally wrong but if it happens don’t whine ……….

Why should the Constitution never change it’s meaning? Because that’s what Amendments are for.

I’m sure that everyone knows that old John McCain wears Depends diapers by now. Well, why not develop a brand that fits all 3 types of Republicans, the really old, the really scared, and the Vitter prostitute lover, in a way that shows how much they love America?

Who needs a flag lapel?

The super patriots need to wear the all new Depends Patriot Diaper! Super absorbent on the inside, American flag image on the outside!

Your hooker will know that you love America!

Your nurse at the retirement home will know that you love America!

Best of all the Democrats will not realize you have just p00ped your pants in fear! At the same time knowing full well that you p00ped your pants as a patriotic, scared Republican!

Sing along with me…..Every Republican Party needs p00per , thats why we invited you! Party P00per! Party p00per!

“Why should it be limited to Republican entrepreneurs?”

Taxpayer, why do you hate America? Why do you hate the flag?

1st of all, the liberal Dems would just try to socialize the diaper industry. 2nd, instead of an image of the flag they would probably end up putting an image of Che Guevara on the diapers. Republicans would never wear Che Guevara diapers. Ronald Reagan diapers yes, Che Guevara diapers, NEVER!

The reason I wanted the Republicans to have the American Flag Diaper business is because the liberal Democrats would want the recycling/fertilizer business that would surely follow.

Perhaps you should move to a communist country Taxpayer, where they still use cloth diapers.

What corporations did he hold executive positions in, was he ever a CFO or God forbid a CEO of any known corporation. I hope John Edwards is his pick for V.P. Then we will have an activist and an ambulance chaser running the show. That’l be one show, and guess what My home is almost finished down at lake Martin, I may just close the doors on my business next year if taxed out of the market and let the duo find a couple hundred more jobs if it is as easy as they tout on the campaign trail...I probably won’t because I understand the gravity of the situation. Perhaps Georgia pawn shop owners and used car salesmen worry about the economic effects of an Obama presidency, but it seems that Wall Streeters (that is, serious businesspeople) are backing Obama much more than McCain, because they are not economic idiots.

The $400B or so that has been spent on Dumbya’s silly war by a country already deeply in debt is the chief reason the Bush dollar buys 1/5th the oil it bought in 2001. The world has no confidence in Dumbya’s economic leadership (and therefore the dollar), and they will have just as much confidence in a warmongering President John Songbird McCain.

Wall street supports Obama? Funny how my broker tells me different..That is first hand information not some dribble from Arlene Huf & stuff. The economic principle is very simple and history is your precedent. The National socialist Party of Obama &Edwards platform is: 1. Socialize Health Care and raise Taxes 2. Socialize pharmaceutical research and raise Taxes 3. Socialize and regulate business corporations and raise their Taxes. 4. All this with no plan to create and encourage an economic environment to pay for this.

I am no Bush fan, but just to refute simpleton two’s accusation that the 400 billion war cost us…No it did not cost us a penny. Bush raised the economic climate to where we have never before seen federal revenues collected, far surpassing that paltry sum for almost a decade.

Yes, from the results the current administration has achieved within the last 8 years, I AGREE with you that NOT EVERYONE can work for the government. Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld with ALL of their 100 years of ‘EXPERIENCE’ landed us in recorded deficits, largest expansion of govt., largest govt. spending, high expensive optional wars,a failing economy, etc.

Can ‘inexperience’ do any worse ???

Alan, you may be ringing the cow bell when it is all said and done, but I doubt it. Obama is running for CEO of this country. He is promising the creation of millions of jobs for the middle class……..He has no experience in creating ten jobs, five jobs, one job….How the hell is he going to create millions? (Without invading Mexico and Canada) He and his are publicly touting that they will punish the wealthy, (class ware fare B.S.) Tax the corporate structure. Tax your 401K and your dividends with a higher rate. Double the death tax standard. Investigate Wall street and look to tax hedge funds. It will never happen of course the Senate will toss out our starve all these bills when they come a calling…..But try he will and then be eaten by his own for failure in four or less years of ineptitude. The best thing abut Obama is he is about to put all the Race pimps in the unemployment line. Hell that might be worth it alone. Time to stock up on some Jiffy pop and open a can of pop.

@ Skunk (July 6, 2008 4:50 PM)—

When someone says “I will create jobs when I am president” he is inherently referring to his administration not he himself as ONE MAN.

AGAIN…The president DOES NOT HAVE TO have any experience as a CEO or CTO or CFO, or all the OOs you can think of.

RATHER, THE PEOPLE WHOM HE HIRES INTO HIS CABINET TO EXECUTE HIS POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY ARE THE ONES WHO NEED EXPERIENCE FOR WHAT THEY WERE HIRED TO DO.

And again, what did the mountain of “experience” of Bush , Cheney, and Rumsfeld do for us after 8 years ?? PLEASE PROMISE ME THIS TIME THAT YOU WILL ANSWER THIS QUESTION.

Thanks. Alan

Alan, no cow bell yet. In your own words: When someone says “I will create jobs when I am president” he is inherently referring to his administration not he himself as ONE MAN.

That is not what he is touting at all......His words are his words, just as yours and mine are. That is the subject material at hand. Senator Obama has made many blanket statements concerning his candidacy for office. Nothing new, I am just calling him on this particular issue.

I think as many, it is a defining issue where his run at President will be won or lost.

A> Where is your vast knowledge of business and the economy come from? B> Have you studied under Dr. Deming and the countries new business strategy of TQM? Six Sigma.......I bet you’re a black belt in this stratagem field ?

No you’re a liberal politician who supports and studies Faux play, and has zero concept of the worlds economic platform.

That may be fine for sheeple, but I am going to bust his a*, till I get hard answers to these questions.

The fearmongering is understandable, Jay. Basically, they’re afraid that when the liberals gain control, they’ll act like Republicans—stifling dissent, locking up people without trial or charges, and revoking the rights of anyone who gets in our way.

Fortunately, liberals have more respect for the Constitution than that. But they only know the Bush perspective, which hates and fears freedom. Naturally they assume we’re like them—cowards and bullies.

They’re trying to get a sewage treatment facility named for the outgoing president, now that’s an idea we can all embrace.
