Kaboom goes kaboom

Damn. My favorite milblog — Kaboom: A Soldier’s War Journal — has been ordered off the Internets by the U.S. Army, in its infinite wisdom. No further postings from the wise and witty Lt. G….

You can still go back and read previous postings, which I urge you to do. Those of us safe and stateside have an obligation to understand as best we can what we are asking these kids to do for us, and Kaboom offered a stylish, candid window into the soldier’s experience.

Jay:

This is pretty sad. What are they afraid of ? In Vietnam we would come out of the field and sometimes get to listne to Armed Forces Radio. One song was totally BANNED ! Those knucklehead officers refused to allow it to be played. Guess which one it was ?

Thanks Jay,

Can’t wait to read it. Those kids over there are to be held up and esteemed. Pity the war voters in Congress did not have to actually fight it. It’s always the same old thing, old men start the fight for young men to die in.

Jay, we do not ask “children” to fight for us……I do not believe that one battalion of Volkstrum exist in the U.S. military today, or ever……I will say this and be done with it: I wish every tree hugging, government subsidized college student had been presented with a nice draft card over the last four years and would have had to serve it out in Iraq…..Those who squawk the loudest usually have done the leastest….

Great blog - of course he’s smart, so the Bushites must silence him.

It’s too bad we send our young people off to this fiasco in Iraq, when we have plenty of pasty obese chickenhawk armchair ‘warriors’ who can get blowed up with IEDs just as easy as our kids do.

You’ve got at least a brigade that post on your blog, Jay.

babydoes is a Wooten drone who probably served with him in the GA national guard, and who attacks with terroristic death threats any american with a different opinion, which in a time of war, like now, is like, so illegal, man. duhng, and several others over at wooten are patroling all the blogs and threatening americans who may poll differently in this time of war. Isn’t that what terrorists do?

Wooten and his thugs are guilty of not understanding what it means to be an american. Watch the end to “A Few Good Men”, when the two soldiers on trial realize that their duty was to protect those who couldn’t protect themselves, regardless of their behavior, circumstances, or politics.

These small-time terrorists have failed, not just as soldiers, or as americans, but as human beings.

Oh Lord. Leslie is the typical liberal who lives in a fantasy world of Hollywood about real life. Leslie, to quote your favorite movie:

Are you kidding me Jay’s brother??
Conservatives built a whole ideology around Hollywood fantasy.

Take todays young Republicans for example. Just like movie star John Wayne during WWII, young Republicans by the millions have decided to sit the war out. Better things to do. Oh you still hear from them all right. The blog warriors are everywhere. Problem is you will never see a headline that says- “Republican Blogger Kills 14 Iraqi Terrorists.” You might see a movie made one day though, thats titled “Rooster Blogburn- Chickenhawk.”

Then of course you have the NRA which was built by Hollywood actor Charlton Heston. Of course every Republican needs a catchy slogan to induce their mindless followers. “Cold Dead Hands.” Lol, just repeat that line a hundred billion times and watch the crowd go crazy.

Don’t forget your all time hero, Ronald Reagan. His acting did get better with age, thank God. He got to be so good of an actor that many of his fans think he’s running for president again, millions of Republicans pretend George W was written out of the script. Reagan’s supporters are so star struck, they ignore the fact that his Presidency was 95% fantasy. Tear down that monument people, he was acting.

Hold on now lets all don’t bash Leslie, she may have inadvertently arrived at the “Iraqi final solution”……We could make a new division of Volkstrum and send them off to fight the war. The Clayton County Volkstrum….. Jay could be the commanding General and Use school board administrators as officers, the bunch of rocks they have for students would be the troops……. It would also fulfill the McCain prophecy, because that bunch would be wandering the desert for at least a hundred years trying to get back home. One Blog, One Post, One Solution…..To arms boys! Their riding Shetland ponies!

I cannot believe some of you people. I am so disillusioned by a large chunk of my generation. Most choose to completely ignore the conflict in Iraq, and those who choose to “speak out” against this so called injustice, have only a cursory knowledge of what is actually going on there. At least those like the LT in this blog, who may speak out about their patriotism and idealism, back it up by joining the service. People like LT G don’t speak out, but then when push comes to shove, back down and let someone else stand up for what they say they believe in. I am proud to be apart of the same generation as LT G, but I can’t say the same about a lot of others in my generation. And people like LT G certainly wouldn’t use a post about a military officer’s blog as a f*ing talking point to spout out baseless political opinions. Instead, people would only say thank you, and read what the LT has to say. So I say thank you LT G, and the rest of you, ALL of you, should be ashamed of yourselves.

Hello Jay. Lt. G. has now been required to remove the entire blog. Fortunately, someone has archived it and City Girl has posted those links on the same blog domain name.

There yesterday gone today, City Girl’s posting on Kaboom has disappeared along with the archive locations. Could the military have had anything to do with the missing words, someone needs to look into this apparent extension of the UCMJ over the civilian populace. I know the constitution has been eroded as of late, but as a civilian I haven’t agreed to be covered under the UCMJ
