Gentlemen, start your corkage! Don’t know if you’ve heard the news or not — are you ready for this? — but stock-car smoothies are switching from beer to wine! I don’t mean those corporate types who occupy luxury suites. (You know, what NASCAR used to call “booths.”) I mean, guys behind the wheels. Some of them are going from guzzlin’ to sipping, pinkie properly deployed at a sophisticated angle.

Who even watches nascar any more. It’s a slower version of Indy racing now. I’ve moved on.

More people attend NASCAR events than attend Indy. NASCAR has 36 points races, two all-star events, and two pre-season qualifying events each season. This is in addition to a full season of Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series races. This totalsabout 90 events. Indy has only 17 events. To each his own, and I have nothing against Indy-I like it too. However, it is not even second tier.

Furman, I’ll believe you when Kasey Kayne is sponsored by Boone’s Farm instead of Budweiser, and Kurt Busch is sponsored by Mogen David instead of Miller Lite.
