Have you tried the ‘cookie diet’?

We recently featured a local woman in our Weight Loss Success Stories feature who says she lost 74 pounds on Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet and has managed to keep it off.

It got quite a lot of comment here in the office and got me to thinking if anyone else had heard of this diet or similar off-beat weight loss plans. Do they work?

Anyone else have similar success with this one as our local gal? What plan has worked for you?

No, but I have been wondering if this really works. Maybe I’ll give it a shot.

No diet, have never dieted. Eat in moderation. EAT TO LIVE,NOT LIVE TO EAT. Eat small meals, anything you want but in moderation. Only bring home healthy food and snacks, feeling hungry between meals grab a fruit……Exercise and choose wisely.

I tried the cookie diet a few years ago. It was really horrible. You lose weight, but a lot of it is muscle weight since you are on such low calories (800 if I am correct). I burn 1800 calories a day doing nothing (I had it tested by someone else) so cutting my calories by 1000 a day is crazy. Your body goes into starvation mode. Of course, any weight you lose comes right back and even more since your body thought it was starving (and it was). Doing fad diets like that really throws off your body and ruins your ability to determine if you are really hungry or not, not to mention what it does to your metabolism.

I have successfully lost weight by eating a healthy balanced diet and working out 5 days a week (consulting with a nutritionist and trainer). Not surprisingly, the weight stayed off permanently because I was making permanent healthy changes.

SparkPeople.com is the best weight loss diet out there. I’ve lost 35 lbs with it, have a lot more to lose, but am confident I can do it with their help. :)

Health Care bills too high and shocking? You can negotiate for a reduction. Go online to Health Care Mediations for a free consultation. Bills are often reduced by 25-50% due to overcharges and unnecessary charges. www.hcme3diation.com

Smart For Life cookies work. Natural and organic with no preservatives! I lost 99 pounds in 6 1/2 months on Smart For Life. Siegal cookies have microcrystalline cellulose in them, a filler not completely digestible except by termites and other critters as stated at forbes.com. Visit www.smartforlife.com and go to your closest center. Get cookie thin today, don’t delay. This program changed my life and it can change yours too. I was a size 22 and now I am a size 2. Don’t let people tell you differently. Try for yourself.
