Tuskegee rallies, Albany State rolls
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Tuskegee won its 22nd straight game Saturday in its victory over Morehouse. And it was the fifth straight win for the Golden Tigers in the long-running series between the teams.
But the Maroon Tigers didn’t go down without a fight in the 42-27 loss. In fact, the boys from the ATL held a 14-7 halftime lead against the defending black college champs, but I guess the champs found a way to come back while not playing their best - and they received a little turnover help from Morehouse according to the AJC’s Tom Stinson, who covered the matchup in Columbus, Ga. (read the story).
The Golden Tigers will take their streak into Saturday’s SIAC showdown against Albany State, which tuned up for the contest with a 34-20 homecoming victory over Clark Atlanta.
Check out some of the other black college football results from Saturday:
• Grambling did its thing on the road in its win over Alabama A&M.
• Delaware State bounced back from its MEAC loss to highly-touted Hampton to defeat Bethune-Cookman on the road.
• South Carolina State remained perfect in the MEAC with its close victory over Norfolk State.
• Alcorn State defeated Miss. Valley and Jackson State upended Ark.-Pine Bluff in other SWAC action.
• Morgan State routed N.C. A&T in a game that’s important because it helped the Bears even their MEAC record at 1-1. But it also gave me an opportunity to give a shout out to my mom, who’s celebrating her golden anniversary as a graduate of Morgan State. Go Bears and go mom!
So, what HBCU game did you attend over the weekend and what weere your impressions? Let us know what you think.

I am sick and tired of hearing about black colleges. Please start using the phrase White Colleges. I am not racist but this is the future. If they want to have black colleges go back to where it started. Africa.
Thank you.

Hey guy lighten up. You wrote your comment as if you are deliberately trying to offend people that come here to comment on this HBCU football blog. You have to do a lot better than that! People have outgrowing that “same ole’ material and rhetoric”. Being from Africa is a Good Thing…LOL! You are a dying breed… a legend in your own mind. Change is coming and no matter what you say….Tuskegee won their football game and Albany State University won their Homecoming Game and nothing you can say in a blog can change THAT! And also Albany will meet Tuskegee on Oct. 18.
Albany State is well known for its reputation of being a Winning Streak Breaker!— GO RAMS!! We see a Tiger in the cross hairs. Leo! Where the picks at for the upcoming weekend?!- Respect

I did attend the ASU-Clark game. I was impressed with the RB and QB of ASU. I think that they need to open up their passing game a little more and stop running the RB to death. Their defense (ASU) has a tendency to committ Pass Interference too much… they need to clean that up too. If they open the pass game up, I think that Tuskegee is in for a long day.

I’d like to thank the AJC for providing this blog on historically black colleges. Keep up the good work!
