I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you are not just a total hater - even though you apparently are not willing to extend this common courtesy to the bereaved folks of the deceased gentleman’s family.

I agree with I BET. If the f* died of aids, the family has a responsibility to inform the public. Dear I BET and GREAT - I recently lost a beloved cousin to leukemia at age 33. I can assure you that even though the family chose not to disclose what killed him, he did not have AIDS. Just because the manner in which God choses to bring someone home is not announced doesn’t always mean it was AIDS. And for your information, not every gay person has AIDS. Not that you care, as you’ve been so blinded by your bigotry that such understanding is not within your capacity.

In a way, though, it doesn’t matter. The error of your ways will be pointed out on your day of judgement.

Only in a second rate paper such as the AJC would allow these type of comments in what amounts an obituary. The people making the AIDS comments probably don’t know what it stands for but feel free to belittle people who are sick and infirmed. Assuming that “I Bet” and “Great” aren’t just internet trolls looking to push peoples’ buttons, it’s truly scary that there are people like that running around in society, but that’s the price of freedown, I suppose. I can’t believe some of the things you people have said. The radio stations, broadcasting community, and the entire lexington area community are saddened by his loss. Just so you don’t have to do any more speculating, Bandy died of liver and kidney failure. This was reported by Jason Bailey, the other half of the Bandy & Bailey team, this morning in Lexington. My thoughts are with his family and friends at such a difficult time.

First off my condolences go out to Michael’s family in this time of bereavement my thoughts and prayers are with you Michael’s talent will be missed by those who listened to him every morning! Jason Bailey has lost a dear friend and my thoughts and prayers are with him also!

Bandy died of liver and kidney failure. He was a great man and he an Bailey had been together for 15 years. Bailey said on a Lexington radio station this morning that Bandy did not want listeners to know he was dying and kept it a secret. He told Jason Bailey last week that he was ok with a memorial, but didn’t want it to be f** sad. He was a major fund raiser for the Lexington Children’s Hospital. I am just glad that KICKS was dumb enough to let them leave, we were glad to have them back in KY if only for a short while. RIP Michael Bandy

Who cares what he passed from, was he around you freaks? Does it really matter, if it was kidney and liver failure…or aids,everybody has issues, and you must not have any or a life because you are up in some one else’s buissness. You sound as if your not secure in your man hood, or affraid of coming out of the closet.Did he do something to you? Everyone needs to chill. Listen, when you go on radio or TV, you’re a celebrity. Even if its just locally. So that means you lose a bit of anonymity in the process. And you cant just up & die while leaving all the fans & the people who loved you guessing what happened to you. Thats total BS. So, yeah. You damn right we should know.

Now, “liver failure” can mean lots of things & isnt a sole cause of death usually. There’s almost always an underlying cause.

I’m almost positive Bandy was a gay man who could have been suffering from AIDS for a while & the liver failure was what eventually killed him. But the underlying cause was complications from AIDS.

Again, I dont know this for sure, but it seems pretty likely given all the hush hush surrounding his death & the “liver failure” BS. Yeah, that probably was the official cause of his death, but what was the reason for the failure?

Like I said, your liver just doesnt go kaput all of a sudden like. I think they need to stop dicking around with the fans & be honest.

The medical community is doing a huge disservice to obese patients by recommending lap band or gastric bypass surgery as a “cure all” to obesity instead of treating the underlying disorder of addiction. Once you can no longer eat, you pick up another addiction, in Bandy’s case, mine, and Carnie Wilson’s—alcohol became the poison of choice. Surgery should be the last resort and pre and post op conselling should be mandatory and readily available. Specials have been aired on ABC, Oprah, Dr. Phil and others. Get out of your glass house and educate yourself. Your ignorance is showing.

For starters I have never listened to the Bandy & Bailey morning show on Kicks, in fact I have only past through Ky a few times in my life. That said. You people need to pay attention to what has been posted here. I guess it may have been the president of the radio station that posted the comment “Michael’s death is attributed to alcoholism”. And it was Greg that posted “Bandy died of liver and kidney failure”. Whoever Greg is. Now to educate some of you. Alcoholism can destory the liver. And a destoried liver can cause kidney failure. Among other problems. Remember biology 101, the job of the Liver is to purify the blood. So “if” he was living an alternative life style. It does not mean that was what took his life. Now for the his listners, fans and family. I want to share someting I read not to long ago. “Those that are important don’t care. And those that care are not important”. So keep your best memories and trash all the negative ones you have read hear and heard. And may God Bless and Keep you.

I truly appreciate the kind words that MOST of you have posted about Michael Bandy. Michael has always and will always be the love of my life because I AM HIS MOTHER.

To those of you that are displaying your ignorance and lack of concern for him and his family, I would like to set the record straight.

Michael died of liver failure, kidney failure and a bowel blockage all due to alcoholism.

Michael did a lot of good things to help a lot of people while on this earth, it is a shame that some of you cannot follow in his footsteps and give him the respect that he deserves.

Now that you have the facts, maybe you can let him rest in peace. I certainly hope that nome of you ever have to suffer the pain of loosing your only child.

Let me start by saying - Michael Bandy was one of the kindest, sweetest, caring, humble - (the adjectives could go on and on) people that I know. I had the pleasure of being a friend of Bandy’s and I thank God for that. I am only sorry that our friendship was cut short. He is still in my heart and he will always be in my heart. There was a period in my life that Bandy was the only one that accepted and supported the choices that I made. He was truly happy for me and I love him for that. I do however regret that I did not get to say goodbye to him.

Now for the pompous, not know what freak you are talking about, speak before you think DUMB F@#$*!! Do you not have any regard for the people that loved Bandy. That are hurting. His Mother for one and I know above anyone else that Jason is hurting. The two of them shared a special bond and friendship. They were more than friends - they were brothers. Jason is the heart of their show and Bandy the soul. Jason will continue on, because that is what Bandy would want him to do. but I know that he is hurting. I just hope that he did not have to read some of these posts. What is wrong with you people? How dare you judge Bandy. I am so sorry that his Mother had to read this.
