11/13; Frank & Wanda to celebrate 10 years at V-103 next week; “MadTV,” “My Own Worst Enemy,” “Lipstick Jungle” cancelled

-Frank Ski and Wanda Smith announced their own version of Oprah’s “Favorite Things,” a live party on November 21 featuring their own favorite things. Those 10 items, yet to be announced, will also be awarded to 10 lucky V-103 fans who sign up online. The live party from 6 to 10 a.m. will be at Justin’s.
-Falcons player Jonathan Babineaux will be a weekly correspondent on the Murph Dawg & CJ morning show on 95.5/The Beat.
According to the press release: In his segment titled “In the Know with Babineaux,” Jonathan will give sports analysis, share his thoughts on current events and give his views on what’s hot in music and entertainment news with Murph and CJ on Monday mornings at 7:55AM.
-NBC, which is having a horrendous TV season outside of “Saturday Night Live,” has nixed two relatively new shows, the Brooke Shield vehicle “Lipstick Jungle” and Christian Slater’s spy caper “My Own Worst Enemy.” Both were struggling to draw 5 million viewers a night.
Fox has also decided to retire “MAD tv” after 14 seasons and being overshadowed by “SNL.” But the sketch show is being shopped to cable networks. The show will finish out its run in May, 2009. It averages 2.6 million viewers, less than half that of “SNL.”

Meanwhile, ABC’s “Pushing Daisies” has struggled in the ratings and is currently straddling the fence in terms of survival.
-And when the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” reunion airs November 25, Lisa Wu Hartwell almost comes to blows with Kim Zolciak. That is unexpected given how diplomatic Lisa was on the show.

Rodney - you forgot to mention that I finally got tossed from the Building of Death! Was it something I did or said? I thought I was the best Program Director at WGST. True, I forced Tom “The King” Hughes to retire, fired Kim “The Kimmer” Peterson, Denny Schaffer, Kari Dean, Sam Memmolo, Dave McBride, Dr. Gene, John Adams and a host of other folks with much more talent that I could ever have.
I did outlast Jerry Del Core and Chuck Deskins, both of whom are now cleaning toilets at the Walmart on Bankhead Highway.
Oh well….I’m sure there is a radio station out there that wants to utilize my many talents!

This upsets me about Lipstick Jungle. It was a great show and spoke to the everyday problems women face even if it was set in upscale NYC. Seriously do we really need another crime show where police investigate and lawyer prosecute. I think NBC has 14 shows of this already please let’s get some fresh ideas!!!!

I like Frank & Wanda but they are too old for the market V-103 caters to. It’s always been funny to listen to them interview the latest hip hop star that is young enough to be their child. You can tell they are not into the music. Wanda & Sophie barely hide their dislike of today’s rap music. I think it’s time to change djays or upgrade the music to more R&B.

Frank & wanda has been on the air for that long !!! Da#&$ !!! Would someone please send me to a prison so they can pull out my finger nails and toe nails so I do not have to listen to them. Oh wait, I am glad there are better radio stations to listen to in the morning.
They are not the voice of Atlanta or even “The People’s Station”. Wanda is so bad, even people who are “ghetto” are ashamed of her and Fank does not know everyone or everything.

You people should stop “bashing and badmouthing” Frank and Wanda.. There are many more radio station to listen to in Atlanta, please pick one of those. It is amazing how you mother did not teach you, if you do not have anything good to say do not say anything at all. Evidently you are a select few who do not like Frank and Wanda because they are still on the air, so I guess you are the minority.

NBC stands for NoBodyCares! They have the worst news programs with their “personalities” reporting rather than journalists, virtually not a single entertaining sit-com or drama, and SNL; in 90 minutes you might, if your lucky, get 5-10 minutes of real comedy. I can write better sketch comedy than most of that crap they do! They really should get back to their roots and with all the stupid crap on TV anyway, there is plenty of material from which to draw. Why don’t they do a take -off of BRAVO”S housewives, ABC the bachelor, MTV’s The Hill’s, ET’s showcase of pseudo stars, etc. SNL has talented comedian’s but the writers , SUCK!
