Atlanta’s Chris “Ludacris” Bridges (photo credit: Getty Images) will be on the final MTV “Total Request Live” November 16 at 8 p.m. with Beyonce.

*”It’s messed up, ‘cause I heard that ‘TRL’ is gonna be over,” Luda said on Wednesday’s “TRL.” “That’s bad news, but I’m coming for the finale. I’ll shut it down. I’ll be here to celebrate!”

He’s got a new album and new film to promote so expect to see a lot of Luda everywhere the next month.

“TRL” is shutting down, far less influential than it was 10 years ago when Carson Daly would parade the likes of Britney, ‘N Sync and the Backstreet Boys to Times Square and mobs of squealing teen-age girls.

Ludacris made his first appearance on “TRL” back in 2001, clad in an outfit that then-host Carson Daly described as “drunken hobo” — but seven years later, Luda still stands by his outfit. “It was the Southern style to wear the thermal underwear underneath your clothes,” he said.

-Jim Gossett, who did celebrity impersonations for the Kimmer’s Newsmaker line for years on WGST-AM, has landed a gig at True Oldies 106.7, helping out Spiff and Fred in the afternoons. He started doing bits about three weeks ago.

Gossett makes most of his money nowadays doing corporate gigs with the likes of AFLAC, Chevron and IBM. He does one pre-produced bit and one live phoner to True Oldies every day. He also has a friend Mimi Gentry call in on occasion to do Sarah Palin.

“He’s really good,” Spiff said. “His voice impressions are pretty amazing. He’s got the sense of timing down pat.”

You can also catch him live with Jerry Farber at the Punchline during Thanksgiving weekend.
