The show “REAL WIVES OF ATLANTA” should be changed to how to trap a rich man! Some of the women on the show are a HOT GHETTO A$$ MESS. NENE…(HGM) she on t.v. acting like a real hood rat. Oh my bad she playing what she really is. Her sons look like they can’t stand her! Deshawn..WTF who do she think she is hiring a team of makeup,hair, & nail people to come to her. Deshwan acting like she OPRAH!!! Deshawn your lazy a$$ don’t do anything all day but whine then, whine about” you don’t have enough time in a day to do anything. Give me a break! You have hired enough people to be act your beck and call. Do us all a favor and be a hands on mom. Lisa is the ONLY woman on the show who represents her self to be a business acting woman who making her and her husband more $$. KUDOS for that LISA. KIM…KIM…KIM.. WTF… this pron star looking fake breast,bad bleach hair,no curves tramp! KIM had the nerve to say “she a white woman trapped in a black woman’s body”. OH PLEASE… she wishes she was black and beautiful. Also, Kim said on the show she “wants her girls to be her best friends”. Ummmm…Kim it’s called being a parent first, then being your kids friends when they are grown!!! If the music career fail.. Hey Kim call up playboy I’m sure you have a job with them. Shree WTF? who do she think she is saying,”I want 7 figures from my divorce”? What $$ did you bring to the marriage? Probably 0……!!! This show is a bad representation of the REAL WOMEN OF ATLANTA.

This show was meant to be over the top Nobody wants to watch the average Atlanta housewife. Apparently this show was taped in the earlier part of this year. Although things were financially falling apart. The bottom had not completely dropped out yet. I mirror the 1st posters comment of Deshawn and Lisa. The over the the top comment about Nene, Kim and Shereel was way too harsh.

I have ocassionally watched the Real Wives series(California and NY) before. Being from the ATL originally and being around the ages of these women, I’m completely embarassed about Real Wives ATL. All these women are gold diggers. Not one of them tell about how they came up from hard work, all talk about their men and ex’s that have money. Lisa still talking about Keith, is she still interested in Keith? You don’t have to bad mouth him, to make your man stand out. If he’s such a good man, that will show. The rest Sheree’(fake as hell), Nene(wanna be), DeShawn( not used to money), Kim(sleeping with someone else husband), Lisa(not over Keith Sweat, gold-digger). This is the worst season of Real Housewives yet!

What is the fuss? It’s not my lifestyle—I work for a living, HOWEVER, no one had anything to say about the REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ORANGE COUNTY, or MY SWEET 16 SHOW, or PARIS HILTON SHOW. They are ALL on the same level. People with a lot of money OR RATHER people who MARRIED/INHERITED money and do what they want with it. But now it is clear that it is not on the same level to SOME PEOPLE. Perhaps because the cast is predominately black there is an issue of wealth (COMPARE THE LAST HOUSEWIVES SHOW-WAS IT REALLY THAT DIFFERENT?) I am p** off at the whole idea of the article that stated having a problem with them flaunting money when the economy is bad—THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA DIDN’T DO IT! ACTUALLY the people on wallstreet who has our economy in a sh*thole LOOKS nothing like the REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA. So get over it and let live. If you don’t like it—don’t watch it…GEE!

DeShawn: Why are the boys talking back to her? Does she have any control over the boys? I have three kids and manage to get them up, off to school, my hair is decent and off to work. With all that help, she does have time to do her own hair and make-up. Look, she is not cooking, cleaning and her hubby is away 6 days a week so she isn’t doing him.

I’m not impressed. I’m not a hater, but I think the women portray a very negative image to women in general. I’m not a psychologist, but it appears that Kim suffers from low self esteem. She compensates this by trying to be more than what she really is. Sheree, the same thing goes for her. She didn’t see her daughter off because she was worried about scuffing up some shoes? Poor children. Deshawn, clearly likes to make it known that she’s better than the people that work for her. Regardless of your status, people of all classes should be treated and referred to with respect. NeNe, you’re just too loud and boistrous. Another sign of low self esteem. You have to be seen and heard. A REAL Lady never does that. In fact, have you ever noticed that people with REAL money never advertise what or who they’re wearing. They don’t have to. It’s called class ladies, something none of you obviously have. I hope when you reflect back on the show, you will see the negative light that you put on women in general.

I knew before I ever saw the first trashy installment On TRHWOA exactly what it would contain. They do not show the hard working women of Atlanta. Or the mothers of special needs kids that practically live at the hospitals and Dr.’s offices and schools for their children. The producers go out and find narcissitic garbage that are overcapitalized trash. By the way, there are a few more white women in Atlanta than just KIMBO the Bimbo. And a whole lot of ‘em are married. NeNe = Barf. Sheree’ - Go to Work! You are nothing special. These producers have just made fools of all of you, and you were stupid enough to let them. Guys, guys, guys! Can we just see this show for what it is….MINDLESS ENTERTAINMENT. When we have a roller coaster election, an economy in the tank, and unprecendented crime stats, it helps to be able to turn on the telly and watch a bunch of folks that have no life but think they do. The one think that I found amazing is while these people that appear to have so much, there are people in the same city that are pawning wedding rings to get insolin for their child. And another couple is trying to raise money to buy service dogs for their autistic twins. Can we maybe “marry” these two worlds and let them do something constructive with their money that does not serve THEM….. just a thought.

I saw this show on the other night and could not have been more disgusted. Here we are in a major financial crisis and they are airing this show (in our backyard!) about a bunch of shallow gold diggers who have absolutely no concept of money. Of course we would all like to have the kind of disposable cash that these women are dumping down the toilet, but the fact is very few people do these days. This ridiculous mockery of “Atlanta Housewives” sets a horrible example for Atlanta and more importantly how to manage our values during a very dicey time in all of our lives. I can only hope that no one takes this garbage seriously and that these women will look back and regret the decision to flaunt their over the top indescretions on television for all to see. On a side note I have to admit that the fact this show is being filmed in Atlanta has me a bit more fired up rather than if it were filmed in LA where money has no value.

I don’t know who or what is coming up with ideas for TV show, but this one takes the prize. Are the viewing public so hard up for things to do that they will actually sit down in a chair and watch this trash. And that goes for 90 percent of the other shows on tv. Ive got probably 300 channels of nothing. Damn people cut that tv off and do things with your kids. Go sit on the steps after dark and show them the stars or go to the parks and get out and see the insects in the grass. Pack a picnic lunch and go to the backyard with your kid. Believe me that child will remember it until they are adults. My daughter has never forgotten our picnics and she is in her mid twenties. If you don’t have kids do something worthwhile, believe me you won’t regret it.

Why is everyone disecting these women…I keep saying NO ONE was all into how these other HOUSEWIFE women on the other shows got their money and who gave it to them. Why? Can anyone answer that? Money does NOT equate class. These women have no class. All the talk about money….It’s such poor taste. Most people that have it, don’t talk about it. And many that are wealthy, are wealthy because they don’t purchase extravagantly in order to flaunt it, to PROVE it. I bet that most of these women have TONS TONS TONS of debt and are living way outside their means.

wow - it’s a good (entertaining) show though. i had no idea keith sweat was lisa’s 1st hubby. lol. kim need a big house. i like nene because she keep it real and she’s a good mommmy i think - she need to let kim know being ‘friend’ to her girls is not what she should focus on when they are 6 and 11 years old. i like nene - but she is kind of loud sometimes. her kids do hate that but they LOVE their mommy. nene look a lot younger than i think she is. lisa does deserve a better hubby than keith - i’m happy for her. and sheree i wish good luck with her fashion business because dude don’t look like he giving up 7 figures - she should prove to him she can do it on her own anyway like lisa. success is the best revenge. this is going to be very interesting to see unfold. sheree is very pretty, and she seems like she’s not mentally ill so i’m sure she’ll find antoher love. kudos to sheree and nene not acting up at briana’s party. i like the show so far. deshawn must have lots of money to throw away - but it’s her money she can do what she want with it. it must really be nice having the servants but too bad she won’t cook or make a bowl of cereal for the boys in the morning. that money can go to a college fund she’s paying for the chef! but again, it’s her money she can do what she want. by the way, deshawn seem like a very nice person too. i hope she finds the right gatekeeper this time who will offer to fix the boys some toaster waffles. wow, i didn’t notice the gum (lisa) because i was too busy wondering why she was so tired (sleepy) looking - then she got sick so i guess that’s why. her hubby is awesome! wow - atlanta must be small with all that wife swapping. my first impression (last week) was wow… rich guys in atlanta must want someone to spend the money for them and this is a good “how to get a rich guy in atlanta to marry you in about 2 months” show. but love is love no matter what the reason and as long as they are all happy… all we can do is watch and enjoy!!! and then get on here and talk about it! lol. i’m loving the show. i hope we get to see ‘big papa’ and what happened to the truck kim (i mean big papa) purchased?? i thought it was a caddy and then i saw her driving a range rover when they tired to go to sheree’s party. oh it must be nice!

I watched part of the first show and the entire second show. Why is it when Black people do a show it always has to be scrutinized so harshly. When White women do the same thing people don’t criticize them nearly as harsh. I don’t agree with everything that they do (spending $6500 on 4 pair of shoes, $18k on and 11 year olds party or buying the her a $1610 LV bag) or how they act, but this is how they live. My only comment is that they should probably not spend as much as they do on items that will not bring them any return. If I had money like them I would still have to work, I just could not be a full-time socialite but that is my preference. Atlanta Houswives if you guys can hook me up with a elite friend please feel free to contact me. All the rest of you HATERS, keep on hating it boosts the ratings for their show.

This show and the fact that it makes front page on the ajc.com site is the epitome of this sad city. These women aren’t rich, they are new money classless tramps and the fact that our society cherishes this kind of idolatry is sad.

More to the point the fact that AJC has a column now dedicated to it, goes to show why I would never order the paper at home, well only for toilet paper for my dogs. Can Atlanta truly accept this low class ghetto image for itself? Seem to be it start with our crooked mayor and prejudiced city politics. No wonder this show is a hit.

Its also rather interesting for a city that has a large wealthy population there is only one “caucasion” main star on the show.

Love the show and it would not be reality if it did not have an edge. Atlanta women or so juealous its stupid. I cant believe women calling these people goal diggers. Whats the difference a women looking for a man that has a good job paying a lot of money. Lets get real! What were you all expecting? NeNe is my favor because these women do exist. The show is a hit. I am sure they will add another housewive thats boring so you all will be represented. Its none of you business if these women spend money like crazy. Double standards for women of color is rooted rediculous.

Though I can’t relate to these women financially….but I like watching the show. It’s funny, entertaining, and might I add shame on their part to watch (excluding LISA & maybe NENE, all because I love her attitude). I hate to sound like I’m hating, because they are wealthy, but these women are like spoil brats. All they talk about is money and fashion. Which of course, everyone love fashion. But everyone in the A ain’t stuck on that s**! Now you may run into a few people who are wealthy like them and may carry a confident attitude like these womens, but to flaunt it is ridiculous! And that’s what this show is about. And I felt so bad for KIM because she showered her daughter with this over-the-top expensive gifts/party and her daughter was not overwhelmed at all. And to see her reaction was funny, ‘cause it was like a slap in the face, a bite of reality. Just because you love expensive things and namebrand tags doesn’t mean that everyone else around you does.

Oh, I didn’t realize the series had officially begun. I admittedly love reality television, but I watched the first episode over the summer and was mortified. The problem that I have with this show is that these people are here in Atlanta acting like fools on national television. People who have never been here will assume that this is the norm. THey are all over the top, but one of those women whose name I cannot recall is just beyond Ghetto. It’s bad enough when the stereotypes of poor black people are played on air, but now we have to watch rich ghetto people as well. I am embarassed both as a black woman and as an inhabitant of Atlanta. When watching Orange County or New York I could laugh because I am not from those places. Watching this show made me cringe.

I really wish the girls could be more lady like and know that when your son (NENE)say you are embarrassing think about it. Come on…there is NO way that party cost $18,000. $2,000 for that cake…come on. The IC King Grand Suite is $1500 / night…for 11 year olds?!!? I love when they say they are members of Atlanta’s elite…I think there are a couple of more around town with 10 times more $$ and don’t act like idiots. Spending stupid money and letting your boobs hang out does not make you classy, but trashy and whorish.

THIS SHOW IS A FAKE REALITY SHOW!

I was at TWIST at Phipps Plaza back in April or so. We were waiting in line and in walks people with cameras, a production crew, director, the works. Then comes Sheree.

They had her exit and re-enter the resturant at least 5 or 6 times. Each time they told her what to do. She came in, flung her hair, adjusted her glasses and what not.

Just horrible, they arent doing a good job of relaying what the women of Atlanta are like. The whole show is directed and scripted.

I am best friends with my daughter and she graduated from Stanford University. She says our friendship sustains her. If the real real housewifes of atl were to be on tv, no-one will watch. BIG PAPA NAME IS LEE!!!!! If you TIVO the show and slow it down to really slow motion when Kim is outside with her girlfriend talking. If your at that part slow it down and read when they place the camera on her Blackberry. You will she her texts on Feb back and forth with Sheree and NeNe…then BOOM she goes to hit reply and the screen jumps to her homescreen and her messages.

She gets a message from NeNe and Sheree and a bunch of messages from “Lee”

The messages say I miss you.. etc… back and forth…”what are you doing, etc”

Clearly no guy is writing all of that unless he’s doing his thing. And Clearly if “Lee” aint Big Papa… then she’s got more than one man tapping that *!

Look at the video… I tell you no lies.

Did anyone notice Atlanta’s Chief of Police Pennington at the party in episode 1? I would like to think he would have better judgment than to appear at something like this. This Show is demeaning to any woman in Atlanta. One of the great things about living here are the women are goal orientated and are professionally accomplished. It appears that the Real Atl Housewives married into money and want to complain about their exes and spend their money on designer stuff.

I know the producers could have found a woman who was a bread winner or something along those lines.

Why are y’all stressing over this show? It IS entertaining!! You are judging these women too harshly. Frankly, they are no different from the average woman in Atlanta. Yes, even those of you are so judgmental. The city is filled with so many fake women who are wannabes. Regardless of how they came about the $$, they can afford to spend it…SO WHAT!!! Isn’t every other woman in the city ready to brag about what they own, can do or what they have accomplished? What is the difference?

The show is good entertainment after a hard day’s work. No one criticized the idiot housewives of the OC or New York!! They were just as pretentious and hypocritical!!

I am utterly disgusted at how much time the AJC devotes to this show. In fact, I’m utterly disgusted with the AJC when it comes to its blatant love for money - the photos that showcase the expensive houses are a prime example.

But back to the topic at hand; the show is an abismal waste of time - regarless of when it was made, showing people peeing away money with the economy the way it is not only shows poor taste but poor judgement.

These women portray every golddigger out there; no values or morals. And I’m absolutely disgusted with the time the AJC devotes to those women.

I’ve watched both episodes of this show, and it’s an ambarrassment to the city. None of the women live in ATLANTA. Kim lives in a suburban townhouse, and Nene lives is a hole with the garage in the front. Like someone else said, they’re probably all living way beyond their means, too. I’m sure they’re all hurting now with the market downturn (especially Nene and Lisa, who are involved in real estate). Lisa acts like only celebrities and athletes can afford those crappy houses she sells. What she needs to realize is that the real movers and shakers in Atlanta don’t live OTP. Get a clue, ladies!

I am so shocked by all of the hate on this blog. Well, then again maybe I’m not. I honestly would like to know how many people who have made ridiculous comments really are a fan of the series. If anyone had watched the previous seasons of Orange County or New York they would see that the Atlanta cast is no different. I hate to bring race in it but I honestly think people hate on these women because they are rich black women. People also hate because they cannot relate to the wealth of some of these women. In watching the first two episodes these women talked about their wealth no differently than the other previous cast of the show. When the other two casts premiered their first episode, those women talked about how they got where there are, no differently than the Atlanta cast did in the first episode. In the NY and OC cast there were at least two women in the show who did not care for each other in their cast. It’s no differently than the Atlanta cast. Who cares that some of the women are wives/ex-wives/girlfriends of successful men? In Orange County, one woman was the girlfriend of a successful real estate guy; one lady was married to former baseball player, etc. In the New York cast one woman is married to a Count from France who’s family gave the Statue of Liberty to U.S. The one thing that majority of all three casts have in common is that majority of them have outside interest that have elevated them to their own financial status. I don’t recall seeing any blogs of people going off on the Orange County or New York cast complaining about the cosmetic surgeries and how they talked about what they have. This is just craziness. If you really are going to complain about how these particular women are showing women in a negative light then I suggest you watch the other two cast shows and you will see that these women are no different than the others. They had just as much drama if not more on their show.

Just because you lead a different life, as a housewife doesn’t mean that someone has to live the same as you. We all have struggles our struggles are just different from one another.

I know the truth about all but 2, and that’s NeNe and Kim First I must remain anonymous… Lisa, has always been a hustler with her business, she has been doing it for a min. However, she should not act like Keith did not “put” her on the scene. She was not perfect either. It aint like she did not mess around… ill leave it there. Deshawn, her Real Estate company fell apart because she is a Btch and no one enjoyed working for her. She is FAT..let’s call it like it is and out of shape and is not cute with all that make-up. No class at all. She really needs to humble herself. Who cares about “who i am” attitude. *Sheree Broke…. Broke. Never had a personal assistant, no entourage just ballin on a budget. She is the classic example of living in the PAST! Bob is gone gone gone. You have no money. As for as getting 7 figures..FROM WHERE?? He don’t have 7 figures to give you. OK??? Kim I only know of her and Sheree of being friends and hanging out alot. Kim is a baller but is over the top. “I” know who big poppa is! Let’s just say we all know him but I don’t think his wife would be down with it..ok??? NeNe She is a hot mess but she is who she is I can appreciate her for keeping it real. Now, in saying that she is the one person who is the classic example of a woman married to a man with some serious dough and she appeals to what men with money desire. He just didnt know any better as for as her being country ghetto. But…of them all, she really gets my respect. She is the most authentic and most stable. This is a t.v. show meant to “entertain” and bring in ratings; nothing more! I only watched one time for like 15 minutes, and turned it off. If you don’t like it, watch something else because all you are doing is continuing to boost the ratings. If they showed a regular, boring housewife going to PTA meetings, eating Edy’s ice cream, and attending soccer games; who the heck would watch that?

Dear Bravo Network,

I grew up in Atlanta and am the same age as Sheree, a Real Housewife of Atlanta. Me and one of my oldest girlfriends conference call and watch your show together as it is a revelation! We love it! These women are nothing like us, our momma’s or any housewives we have ever known in this town. They’ve tapped my voyueristic sap and ended my reality tv boycott in only 2 episodes.

You see, we grew up around stable black women in South and West Atlanta who never in a million years would let something this intrusive and exploitative into their lives and families, regardless as to station or situation. (They also wouldn’t wear those Bey-Bey dopplegankin’ weaves.) I applaud these new chicks for their bravery and honesty. This is some groundbreaking sh** to no longer be afraid to show out for the world in the city too busy to let everybody know how much folks hate and get hated on up in this mug. Are they the disease or the symptom? Let’s all keep watching this spoon full of sugar, decide for ourselves and help them do what needs to be done to find a cure through the valiant efforts of the DeShawn Snow Foundation. (By the way, I’m serious.)

Here’s what truly gets us, though. The only REAL Atlanta PEOPLE we’ve identified so far were Kim The Makeup Artist and Holyfield Child #4080 (Pennington is N.O., ya’ll, and Jazze Phae is……..Jazze Phae). But if these new-monied, thrill-seeking, yaky-do’s want to let us in on what their world is like, so be it and God bless them. They’ve sure got my attention. I’m loving it (really) and loving them for it.

I’m thinking of throwing a party for the finale and putting them all on the list. Any idea where I can email the invitation to my pigs in a blanket, living room lounge soiree? I can guarantee that I will not be in the wine cellar when NeNe gets there. SKLOCK! (or whatever that sound is she makes when she pokes out that curled up pointer finger. LOVE HER!)

I couldn’t help but watch the show: it’s like a train wreck that you can’t turn away from. But here is my problem with the show—there is no variety. They are all too much alike so you don’t get the mix you got with the Cali group. THere was the one who was divorced and living in a townhouse with her kids and her son was on drugs. She ended up marrying a rich guy and moving back into the gated community. There was the workaholic who drove everybody crazy, the very successful real estate broker whose sons fought constantly…it was just more interesting, even if they are botoxed to death. The NY crew was beyond catty and just ruthless, but they showed a real New York attitude, that nastiness that is just there. The Atlanta crew (and I am a transplant) doesn’t reflect the real South. I don’t see the real Southern steel magnolia type, the woman who runs a tight ship at home and at work. What I see is some over the top women who lack class and a genteel demeanor. One more point: Lisa comes off as a real go-getter, but her ex whom she loves to bash, Keith Sweat, has had custody of their two kids for the past seven years and refused to let them be on this show. He can’t be that bad of a guy.

So I love the house wives series always have and always will, but I am embarrassed for these women they have from ATL this season. These women as you can tell are giving black women who have money a terrible name. GOLDDIGGERS! The only one who at least tries to make an attempt at making her own money is Lisa. Kim is defiantly sleeping with someone’s husband that’s why “big papa” CANT be seen on the show it isn’t that he is a celebrity, come on Kim get a clue, talking about he is someone you could marry one day, YEAH once he gets a divorce and his wife finds you and keeps your behind. Now let’s talk about NENE OMG! She is a HOT GHETTO MESS! I mean could anyone be more ghetto then she? I think not. What happened to the southern girls who grew up and went to Debutant Balls and who’s families always had money I’m sure they are hard working women who at least do more then sit around and have parties drinking with friends then getting up and talking trash about the other ones all day. I hope these women are happy with how they portrayed the young black women with money, because we all know we won’t get an opportunity to see it again thanks to how bad these women portrayed housewives on TV.

and ANOTHER thing: I would have loved to see some real Atlanta housewives who are movers and shakers in the business and charitable worlds. Can you imagine the jockeying for power and position that goes on in organizations like Junior Achievement, Leadership Atlanta or Links? Or can you imagine these housewives trying to get their man in 100 Black Men of Atlanta or something like that? I would love to see something that really reflects Atlanta, a housewife with a real HUSBAND and kids with successes and issues. But instead we get a show that only provides caricatures. Don’t have the housewives, hate the producers because they’re the ones who really failed to follow through.

I am a real ATL housewife, employed full-time, with kids, do my own hair and makeup, and keep my home immaculate. DeShawn take note! It can be done. I must admit I watch the show for humor, everyone needs a good laugh sometimes. They are no more over the top than Desperate Housewives and just as fictional. There’s a simple solution for all, enjoy the show or change the channel. As for the ATL mother who said do something with your kids and turn off the tv? This show airs at 9:00 p.m., my kids are in bed!

It’s a sad, sad, day for women! The average housewife is nothing like these women and it doesn’t come as a surprise when I see young girls aspiring to become “lazy, dependent, golddggers”. The pressure they put on their children to enjoy material things is unreal. And what’s up with Kim complaning about her daughter not looking happy? A child’s party should be all about fun; and by the way, you cannot be a parent and your child’s friend at the same time, get a grip! After watching the show, all I can say is; these so called “real housewives” should remember where they came from and give something back to that community”. The reality is, people believe what they see/hear on TV and i’m embarassed to the core. Thanks for setting us back another 50years! The other thing is just how much happiness can $1,610 Louis Vuitton handbag bring an 11yr old child? What about spending some good old quality time with her, going bike riding in the park or something equally fun? The poor girl is probably starving for some love and attention, a 18K birthday party is way over the top, even if you can afford it!!

It’s a sad, sad, day for women! The average housewife is nothing like these women and it doesn’t come as a surprise when I see young girls aspiring to become “lazy, dependent, golddggers”. The pressure they put on their children to enjoy material things is unreal. And what’s up with Kim complaning about her daughter not looking happy? A child’s party should be all about fun; and by the way, you cannot be a parent and your child’s friend at the same time, get a grip! After watching the show, all I can say is; these so called “real housewives” should remember where they came from and give something back to that community”. The reality is, people believe what they see/hear on TV and i’m embarassed to the core. Thanks for setting us back another 50years! The other thing is just how much happiness can $1,610 Louis Vuitton handbag bring an 11yr old child? What about spending some good old quality time with her, going bike riding in the park or something equally fun? The poor girl is probably starving for some love and attention, a 18K birthday party is way over the top, even if you can afford it!!

You are so right. i’m changing the channel! they changed it to 10 pm anyway,which is my bedtime. Lisa is the only really cute sucessful actual housewife. SHeree is fake , and the need for a shoe stylist is a bit much. the way that bravo displays the price of everthing is sad. Imagine the smiles they could put on the faces of battered women or kids without homes, yet they waste it on lavish parties, and endless amounts of handbags. at the end of the day it’s too over the top, and does nothing for your inner being.not cute , sherree should be ashamed. i hope to hear about a few shows that depicts thesegirls taking time to promote charity , visit sick and poor people and give from the heart. I am cracking up reading some of your comments - too funny! And spot on… OK, here’s the deal from my point of view: the first 2 Real Housewives (Orange Co & NYC) portrayed people EXACTLY as I expected. Well, I take that back - Orange Co surprised me. Those women all worked, all earned their own money when I was expecting pampered princesses sitting by the pool eating bonbons & barking out orders to a staff. NYC wives behaved EXACTLY like I expected - rude, sarcastic, blunt, b*tchy, gossipy, etc. No surprises there. HOWEVER, Atlanta’s protrayals shock & embarrass me. We are NOT known for this pomp & circumstance, this high-falutin’, tacky-acting, un-hospitable behavior. Southern women of ATL have CLASS. The difference really is new money v just plain money, old or new, hard earned or inherited. Bravo could have gotten just as much entertainment out of an established southern neighborhood in DeKalb (around Emory or the Highlands) or Buckhead. They didn’t have to go to Alpharetta in search of wannabes. I love going to Lenox on my lunch hour & seeing the moms with their Gucci purses, preppy haircuts, Tori Burch shoes pushing strollers. It’s great! That’s the ATL I like and want to be a part of. What they’re showing on Bravo embarrasses me. Where’s the daily commuters to Atlanta? The small business owners? The renovated homes in Cabbagetown? The music industry? The law firms? The doctors? The designers? The developers? The historians? The confederate daughters? The High Museum supporters? When did we become a city known only for a place sportsmen reside?

These ladies (and I say that lightly) should take some notes from some women who played the true southern lady on Designing Women in the day. If this is what Atlanta has become, a bunch of getto ho’s, and one white lady that wants to be a getto ho, this city has really gone down the tubes. I think that the show is a little over-rated and over the top…yet it does show how the “modern day” housewives with money live. So let them just do them.

Lisa is really the one that is using the show to her advantage, with her savy business appeal.. IT”S ADVERTISEMENT…People are taking it too personal when it is not that serious. Deshawn is a class-act. It’s funny how money changes people, but all in all God knows what the core is like. You can dress it up, make it look good on the outside, but on the inside it’s rotten. She is not telling that Eric has a beautiful home in Seven Hills in Ohio that he lives in while she is being the “single” mom. All he does is puts the money in the account to shut her up. People see right through that!

Being from Atlanta, I was so excited to see a show designed to ‘showcase’ the elite of African-American women of Atlanta. Boy am I embarassed. First of all they’re not from Atlanta and it’s all about who can spend the most, flaunt it and cat fighting. These women have too much time on their hands, husbands (the 3 that have husbands) look like whimps and bad examples of motherhood. Admittedly I expected a little of this stuff but the whole show is about this stuff. Where’s the substance? Where’s the positive images for our young girls? Where’s the pride for us who are really doing it everyday without millions of dollars at our disposal? Please put these crazy low life ‘HOs’ back in the box!

This show is over the top. The sad part is we are watching it and sitting here blogging about these goofy azz women. Not one of these chics do a darn thing for anyone other then themselves; sadly women like them make it hard for DECENT woman to get with ANY man. That’s the truth whether anyone chooses to beleive it or not. Bob Whitfield is not a bad guy; neither is Keith Sweat or probably any of the men on that show. Certain people bring out the best and worst in people. Why would Bob Whitfield be happy with some who clearly “wants a seven figure lump sum” - no one lived with them while they were married other than them; but she keeps saying she has not control over editing- what she does have control over is the words that COME OUT OF HER MOUTH. Her statement was like the SHOT HEARD ROUND THE WORLD. God bless these women for getting their hustle on; they just have no right to get mad because people are talking about them. They are the ones who CHOSE to sit in front a camera and air all of their personal business. So maybe THEY SHOULD NOT HATE. Okay, everyone calm down. Just because YOU don’t live large, doesn’t mean other women can’t. You know you would marry a millionaire if he would have you. So just stop hating.

I love to watch the show for the pure entertainment value. I can’t wait to see what ghetto fabulous NeeNee does next. She’s a HGM! Kim is just sad though. $18,000 for a birthday party for an 11 year old. Then you wonder why she doesn’t appreciate anything. Try just spending time with her, and doing charity work for underprivileged kids. That will teach her the true value of life: helping others.

I know Sheree and Lisa personally and it surprises me they are friends. Lisa is cool and down to earth. (Her husband Ed is a GREAT guy who worships the ground she walks on.) Too bad Keith Sweat has custody of her kids though. You know you are a bad mother when KEITH SWEAT has your kids! LOL

Last but not least, Sheree, Sheree….where do I start? She married big, fat ugly (but nice) Bob Whitfield because he played pro ball…point blank. If he was an accountant she would not have looked at him twice. But I don’t mind that. I mind that she has the nerve to act she made that money. She also didn’t tell you she used to date Charles Oakley, former old ass NY Knicks player who screws all the “old chicks” in the A. She’s trying to keep her Man Money Train coming like Lisa, but she’s not as cute or classy as Lisa. (Lisa was engaged to an Oakland Raider before marrying Ed.)

Oh well, can’t wait to see what ghetto mess they get into next week!

I like the show and I will continue to watch. I am a woman of modest means but I find the show entertaining and I appreciate seeing people of color living in big beautiful homes and I also enjoy and approve of Kim (the honorary Black woman).

I do not understand how the RH of ATL deserve such negative comments. Why would their prosperity make anyone mad? Would you prefer Bravo to show the RH of the projects of ATL? Go watch good times if you want to see poverty. Get off the computer and get your own and stop hating on them. That is what I’m going to do.

This show is like a car wreck. You can’t help but watch. But the most annoying thing is the way these women butcher the English language. They could use lessons in the correct usage of verbs, nouns, double negatives (it’s a no-no, in case they’re not sure), etc. Also, a manners class might go a long way. Amazing that Sheree wasn’t aware that when you personally invite someone to your home and the people you hired ask them to leave, it’s good manners to deal with the situation personally instead of leaving it to the “help.” And a phone call, days later, isn’t sufficient. Really, who humiliates their guests at parties - both by having them thrown out and then making sure the guest knows it’s not important enough to you to deal with personally? Doesn’t this seem like common sense as well as manners?

A very elegant work associate of mine who was a jewelry designer for Cartier in London and made custom pieces for a very privileged European clientele once made a very true comment about class and social standing where it concerns one’s financial status:

“Money shouts - wealth whispers”.

I rather liked that, and it seems to apply to these women who have no true money of their own but feel extremely compelled to show off what their husbands/boyfriends have. As far as being what I would consider Atlanta housewives - well, more than half of the women on the Bravo show aren’t even from the south, and Sheree, who is from Ohio, considers herself to be a ‘Georgia Peach’! Last I knew, you were typically FROM Georgia if you called yourself a Georgia Peach … (I’m a Georgia native and have lived in Atlanta for 30 years, and I’ve never really liked that expression - I find it amusing someone not originally from the state would describe themselves as such) The true and better expression of an Atlanta housewife can be found living on West Paces Ferry and the surrounding Buckhead enclaves, where their families and relatives have lived for the better part of a generation. Furthermore, the real Atlanta housewife wouldn’t be caught DEAD appearing on such a show, regardless of level of income or degree of social status - she has far more class than that to embarrass herself, much less her family and friends, in such a manner.

I am loving this show. I applaud all the ladies on the show because they have made it and actually doing something OR NOT anything with their time and husband’s money. Okay where do I start. This show is a “HOtttttttt Mess”. All these women with the exception of NeNE probably are GOLD DIGGERS! Can you say GOLD DIGGERS boys and girls? Me and my wife watched the two episodes so far and we just can’t believe at the classlessness of these women.

Granted, a husband is suppose to take care of his queen but these women doesnt seem to appreciate their husbands or ‘Sugar Daddy”. Lisa is the most obvious gold digger, mmm let me see was married to Keith Sweat, got a divorce, and married Ed after a month and a half, WTH! OH, but you guys are a “Power Couple”, give me break. They’ll be divorce wants all of Ed’s money has dried up because he’s been out of football for months and no teams are interesting in signing. He was cut by the last 3 teams he was with. OH, and that little real estate business Lisa isn’t making any money during these times, the banks aren’t leading money to AT&T long term so you know what they feel about consumers. The music producer she showed that house to I never heard of and he’ll probably be selling that house soon because nobody is buying anything with his fat, gayish self.

Sheree, she just tries to act like she’s more then what she is. She’s living off her ex husband money and claims to be a designer. Sheree and get a job! Your husband Sheree saw that first episode as well and watched you saying you want 7 figures from your divorce. Tell me this Sheree, if you got $8 million in your divorce that’s still not enough to live the lifestyle you want. Hell, your yearly property taxes for that house has to be close a million dollars.

Okay, Deshawn (Eric Snow’s wife), stop trying to act like you are Kimora Lee Simmons. Eric has been fortunate enough to be in the league 13 years and probably have some money, but you’re life isn’t all that hectic that you need the staff that services the WhiteHouse. All you need Deshawn is probably two maids and to get off your fake behind and got over to College Station and let Lakeisha do your hair and make up.

Kim, it’s simple, you’re just someone mistress and he’ll never married you. So with that said, go and get a job at the Virgin Record at PreachTree Mall because that’s the closest you’ll come to being a county music star.

NeNe, you my girl and probably the most real of the bunch. But my sisters home in Douglasville looks a hell of alot better then yours and they’re average. I know your husband is a “Real Estate Investor”, but the banks are lending money to people. So him, Lisa, and Deshawn we can assume isn’t doing that well in real estate at this time.

I was both amused and embarrassed by these ladies. I noticed how a few of them kept talking about how much “class” they had. If you really have class there is no need to talk about it. Class speaks for itself. Talking about getting ‘seven figures’ from your ex-husband isn’t classy; Not personally going to your ‘friend’ to clear up the misunderstanding at your party is not classy; changing your dress in a parking lot is not classy; Why in the world does one really need a nanny, governess and estate manager (did you see the way that woman was looking - I would love to have been able to read her mind). The only one with some class is Lisa. I thought it was cool that in preparing for the “party” she went straight to her closet and picked out a pair of jeans and a nice blouse. No stylist, etc in sight. However dogging your ex-husband / father of your chilldren isn’t really classy either. Any way, even though I am embarrassed, I am compelled to watch. LOL

You know a few years ago I believe it was on NBC Dateline, they did a taste test with the best chocolates from around the world that money could buy and compared themm to the chocolates you would buy from a local grocery store or Walmart, kinda like what you see in the checkout isle. What they found out SAX, is that most people picked the Snickers Bar, BabyRuth or Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup as tasting better then the most expensive chocolates from Paris, Italy, or Europe.

My point is sometimes the simplier things in life are worth just as more then something that cost 10x. We aren’t blasting the cast for having money, we’re blasting them for how errogant and stupidity in managing it. Kim paying $18,000 for a birthday is crazy and then she acted as though she didnt like the taste of that $2000 birthday cake she had made in Los Angeles for her daughter. She could have taken her daughter to Chucky Cheeses 40x for $18,000 with birthday gifts included.

I’m a married male and I’ll admit, the women on the show are attractive. For example I think Sheree is cute, for some reason I like her features, but her attitude makes her ugly and that’s a big turn off to how good she looks. All a man wants to do with someone like Sheree is toss her around in bed a few times, use her for any money she might have, and leave. Because it’s her attitude that makes her so unattracted.

I think they’re in a different world then most of us live in, but if they lose all what they have today, they’ll probably jump of the tallest building in Atlanta. These women need to get a life, something other than their concern for shoes, clothes, purses, and big gas guzzling cars (given to them by a sugar daddy!!) These women are comical caricatures and I refuse to believe they are serious. There is probably not a Link, Girlfriend, AKA, Tri Delt, or Junior Leaguer among the lot of them. None of them would make the cut. I love this series because watching it is like doing “Where’s Waldo?” I watch just to see all of the faux pas that no gently bred person would ever make. They try so hard to be refined but then the cameras enter their homes and you see the hollow plastic doors in their “custom” homes. There is no generational wealth here folks. All of their parents are probably high school diploma working class at best(see DeShawn’s statement about her father’s cheap liquor requirements). Sheree states that she grew up “upper middle class” yet her diction refutes that. Her family probably had the two bathroom house in her lower middle class neighborhood so she grew up thinking she was well off. NeNe and DeShawn both have horrible, ghetto sewn in weaves. I’ve seen better weaves on high school girls. They both look like they are in a witness relocation program. Lisa need to stop lifting weights because she looks like a longshoreman…not a good look for her. She is desperately trying to find something in common with her comically hippy hubby so he won’t lose interest in her before the money runs out. Sadly she’ll dump him as soon as the checks stop coming in. I have nothing to say about Kim, she totally lost me when she made the “black woman” comment and her kids already have the blank stare of future opportunist. The good news for these ladies is apparently they are more than qualified to be vice president of the United States (Golly gee, don’t cha know!!!!).

I love NE NE, she is real , some would say hood but I like a person who has not let money make her snappy and catty ,. But she enjoys her life and wealth. I actually like the show. I do think $18,000.00 was a bit much for an 11 year old party, but who can tell a mother that I mean when you have kids you do what you do because you want to or because you can. Now with regard to the other ladies I appreciate Lisa and her business sense , i have to admit I have mixed feelings about her into ” If it don’t make me money I don’t do it”. But I think we all want a good life and she is working to have it and making sure she can upkeep it. Shawn Well I have to give props to Eric first for not getting one of these size two women and all. don’t get me wrong D’Shawn is hot , I’m just saying not your typical NBA wife , and she is black 10 more points Eric. )Only one thing the way you say things can really strike nerves Shawn you belittled your staff before you have them by saying ” We don’t deal with the other people ” I agree it is the job of the estate manager to handle the house and employees, as with any manager but you should deal with all of them and there is no reason why if your standing there and a staff has messed up something or done something that is not to your liking you don’t tell them on the spot ultimately your still the boss. I am not sure if you meant it how it sounded but check that thought when you get a minute. Now Sheree with that $6500.00 show purchase I am not gone to even go there hell that is a woman’s matter and my mother would have done the same thing only she would have had to charge them(lol). All in all i like the show and i think you have 5 woman who have god taste, want to live a good life , and all have part in humanitarian efforts. So god way to show the black female ( And Kim) I think I know who BIG DADDY IS TOO. I don’t know how im coming up with this but the letters DW may mean something to you all and BASKETBALL !!! They are antithetical to everything real Atlanta housewives represent. Atlanta has a lot more to offer. Please stop talking about it before people think we’re really like this. Today is the first time I watch Real house wifes of ATL. One thing I can say is that there is MONEY in ATL. I would also like to say to the producers of the Real House wifes series. Why for the Real house wifes of OC, the white women where not Golddiggers, they owned business, but these woman happen to be African-American,No jobs,think they are better than everyone else,and just love to spend there husbands Money. I have a cousin that lives outside of ATL.,She is nothing like these woman, she owns her own Business. What you see on TV is not ATL., and people around the Country will look at this and say “see this is how Black People Act” and that’s not the case.
