6/7: Star 94’s Starfest featuring John Mayer, plus Hot & Dave events
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
It’s concert season and sure, there’s no more “On the Bricks” or “Downtown Rocks,” but radio stations are still sponsoring shows.
Star 94 is using the new Verizon Wireless venue in Alpharetta August 29 for its annual Starfest concert. This year, it features John Mayer and One Republic. Those are two core aartists for Star right now and of course, Mayer used to live in Atlanta. Now he’s dating Jennifer Aniston, shows up frequently on tmz.com and insults “Guitar Hero” fans. The L.A. Times even commented about his oddly “symbiotic” relationship with the paparazzi.
Tickets can be purchased here.
-Meanwhile, odds are pretty good nobody going to see Mayer will be at June 14’s Hot 107.9 Birthday Bash at Philips Arena featuring T.I., Young Jeezy, Plies, Shawty Lo, the Game, DJ Khaled and Soulja Boy, to name a few. Tickets range from $10.79 to $100. More info here.
-Dave FM is presenting the Virginia Highland Summerfest this weekend featuring Shawn Mullins from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sister Hazel from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Sunday. More info here.

It has nothing to do with the Regular Guys, so I could see where you would mess it up. But Rodney are you sure it is 95.5 the beat is doing a birthday bash? I mean with those artist’s I would think it would be to “urban” for them. I think you meant Hot 107.9.

Come to Suckfest 2008, see a bunch of 45 year old hacks try to run a station for 18 year old girls. Seriously, the only thing worse that i can think of working at Suck94 is having to listen to it.

The Star94 show sounds pretty good. I don’t listen to Star anymore since they now have crap in the morning. That station has really gone downhill

What’s funny is that, I will be at the Mayer show and I’m going to the HOT 107.9 Birthday Bash. That was such a judgemental thing to say! So, Rodney, if you were a betting man, you just lost some money my friend!
By Star 94 REALLY sucks!

If John Mayer and One Republic heard the Morning Mess, I doubt they would agree to be associated with the station.
Look for Mayer to appear with Steve & Vikki at B-98.5 in the future because of their great relationship with him for the past few years.
Just wondering … are any of the salespeople left at Star 94, or did they ALL move to Cox?
