5/26: Spiff still seeking a job

spiff-carner.jpg

Spiff Carner, formerly of Randy & Spiff, resurrected his “Hey, it’s Friday” bit on the Regular Guys this past Friday to the song “Bang on the Drum All Day.”

“I’ve lost a little bit since I’ve been off,” Carner said. “This is the earliest I’ve been up since October 8.” That was the day WGST-AM let him go, but kept his radio partner Randy Cook. The pair had been together for 22 years, including their longest stretch with Fox 97 from 1989 to 2003.

“I knew there was trouble,” Carner said. “We started doing this talk radio thing. The PD said it’d be better if you talked less… I think that’s a hint!”

He didn’t fight it. “I walked out of the building. You can’t argue with their success. Then I got home. Wait a minute. You can. You can argue all day long!”

He noted that if you want to employ him on the radio, his email is spiffhappens@gmail.com.

Larry offered for him to show up on Fridays anytime he wants.

“We can give you movie passes and t-shirts,” Larry said.

“Don’t compete with us. We don’t want to crush you,” Eric said, if Spiff got another job.

Bloomquist…you big idiot. Get back to cleaning the toilets in the Building of Death. It’s the only job that you are qualified to do.

Why does WGST need a program director? They only do 15 hours of local programming a week, with one host. Why would they keep Deskins & Bloomquist around when a monkey could do both of their jobs, or whatever it is those two do around the Building of Death?

I was wondering why B98.5 FM did not hire Spiff instead of bringing back Steve & Vicki. Randy & Spiff was and is an instution in Radio in the Atlanta area. I could care less if Steve & Vicki are back. Bring back Randy and Spiff.

Is WGST still on the air? How in gods name does Bloomquist still have a job? He must have some dirt on someone. The man who runs the Kimmer, Tiom Hughes, Snake, Wayne no Offense and everyone else out of town is still here?? What a joke. Bloomquist, Deskins and Chris Williams need to be fired immediately! Just a bunch of a** kissing Clear Channel suits. Be gone losers!

Why are we still employed at The Building of Death? Aside from being total morons and idiot programmers, it’s because John Hogan wants us to run these stations into the ground.

I miss Spiff. I hope someone gives him a chance again.

Bloomquist & Deskins? Aren’t they the janitors at The Building of Death? Even I’m not that stupid to let those two moronic monkeys program a radio station.

Bloomquist, Deskins and Chris Williams: Larry, Moe and Curly. I smell a reality show. “How to f*ck up a local radio network”… The Losers who killed WGST, 96 Rock and 105.3 the Buzz. Of course it would be a comedy.

Comparing Bloomquist, Deskins & Williams to Larry, Moe & Curly is an insult! Larry, Moe & Curly actually had talent! Bloomquist, Deskins & Williams are MORONS!

Cris Williams killed the greatest radio station in Atlanta history. His idea of edgy programming is playing Skid Row next to Aerosmith… BRILLIANT! Adios mofo

Spiff helped to make listening to the radio fun…big corporate radio has taken the fun out of listening to it.

Bring back Randy & Spiff to what they do best…and it ain’t talk radio folks!

My morning drive hasn’t been the same since FOX 97 went down the tube when Randy & Spiff left. Now we’ve got the River at 97, better music, but lacking interesting morning people. Randy & Spiff ! Randy & Spiff, we need you back on a station with some power. Talk about “America down the crapper!” Corporate radio is part of it.

There are rumors that Randy and Spiff are headed for new 100,000 watt Good Times and Great Oldies outlet WYAY-FM True Oldies 106.7! This oldies station has a huge 1950s-early 1970s playlist and Randy and Spiff would fit in very nicely there!

What is wrong with Atlanta Radio? Way too many people are unhappy and want what worked and entertained us in the past. Many of us had our children started on Randy and Spiff and there is no substitute, so when are they coming back???
