10/29: Young & Restless screen test Thursday

I know zip about soap operas but I’m told “The Young & the Restless” (WGCL, 12:30 p.m. weekdays) is doing an open casting call for a woman 18 to 30 (as of Dec. 1, 2007). I’m not sure how serious this really is or whether it’s some elaborate marketing scheme. Then again, the show is ranked No. 1 among soaps.

If you think this could be your big break, go to AmerciasMart, building No. 1 this Thursday from 9 to 4 p.m. Callbacks for participants advancing to the second round of auditions and on-camera test with scene partner for finalists will be held on Friday, November 2.

One of the actors, Michael Graziadei (who plays Daniel Romalotti since 2004) will be coming by.

Releases and registration forms are available on www.theyoungandtherestless.com and www.cbs46.com.

the audition is very much legit. Im a loyal Young & the Restless fan, and I received information from the official CBS website. It’s just too bad im not in the age group specified. I’ve been watching Y&R for over 20 years, and I still love it. Good Luck to anyone who’s trying out

Y&R is the best show (not just soap opera) on tv today.

All soap operas are crap! I used to watch waaaayyyy back when, but as I got older I realized how silly they really are. There’s enough real life drama (and I don’t like ANY, but that’s virtually impossible with a teen around), I don’t need to see made up drama……..and most times it’s about stuff that really wouldn’t fly in the real world. But hey, to each his own!

Y&R is not as good as it used to be. Something major (i.e. change in writers) must have occurred. The story lines don’t seem as complex as in past years.
