1/20: Barnes on Prison Break Monday
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Steve Barnes, the former 99X and Dave FM jock, gets at least a two-episode run Monday at 8 p.m. on “Prison Break.”
Here’s the link to the Peach Buzz item in today’s paper..
He plays a tough-guy Secret Service agent named Drucker.
“It’s a total roller-coaster ride of a show,” he told Buzz. “So far, I’m just shooting on a soundstage office set in Dallas. The joke on the set is you don’t want to get a script where you’re running around outside shooting [exteriors]. That usually means you’re dead!”
I watched the episode that airs tonight. Barnes gets a couple of scenes and a couple of lines with Reggie Lee’s Kim character, who works for the president.

I’m sorry, but Barnes is still an idiot!
Speaking of idiots, who’s bright idea was it to leave Jen & Melissa loose on the airwaves by themselves, without Bert or Jeff?? Honestly, that’s the worst radio I’ve heard in a long long time!

I’d hate to wish an @-hole like Barnes well, but if he does keep getting work as an actor he’ll never come back to atlanta radio again!

I used to like the Old Morning X, but Barnes isn’t that good without Jimmy and Leslie to play off of. I won’t judge his acting abilities because I’ve never watched anything he is in, but I doubt he will ever perform in anything I’m interested in seeing.
This summer when 99x was looking for a new show, I thought it would be really unique and creative to find a morning show that was all or mostly women, say 3 women and the token guy, but realizing now that it would be like the Bert Show this week.
I’m a huge fan of the Bert Show, and I mean to critize Jen and Melissa because they are great DJs but it has sounded like two girlfriends gabbing this week, not very compelling radio. Then again I don’t think it’s meant to be very compelling because they are playing some old clips a lot while the guys are gone. At least when it’s only Jeff and Bert they bring in Tracey or an intern or something.

In news of the future; television history is made tonight when no one in Atlanta watches “Prison Break.”

Sadly, I asked the director if I could have a scene where we play tennis, but he declined my AWESOME idea. frowny face Oh well, peace dorks. Time to kick azz somewhere else.

Agree with the comments re The Bert Show this week. It was a chore to listen to it; normally a loyal listener, I found myself channel surfing and eventually popping in a cd.
Hopefully one or both will be back soon and we can return to normal!
