11/25: Misc. radio bits

WRAS is holding a 35th year benefit Dec. 2. Here’s info from the GM Cassie Smith:
WRASFEST will be at the Eyedrum Music and Art Gallery in Atlanta again for the third concert in a row ( www.eyedrum.org). We’ve got a great lineup for our benefit concert this year including mostly local bands: Moresight, Psyche Origami, Boulevard, Aerial2012, The Selmanaires, Phosphorescent, and Daedelus. This show aims to please nearly everyone with acts from several genres. Doors open at 4:30 pm which seems kind of early but we really just want to party as long as we can. If you’re one of the first 88 people to the door at 4:30 you’ll get a limited edition tote bag of free stuff including CDs, posters, DVDs, keychains, and maybe even another tote bag. ALSO, early birds can grab a slice of Album 88 birthday cake… and despite what the on-air promo I made says, no, Marvin won’t be jumping out of the cake. We’re also debuting a brand new tshirt design and there will tshirts of all colors and sizes to purchase at the show and awesome new tote bags to match. We’re also making 1” buttons so you can sport Album 88 on your lapel like a true fan
Also, former 99Xer Jimmy Baron’s wife Lisa is pregnant.
She’d been hankering for a little one for awhile and Jimmy, still seeking a job, finally went for it. Lisa repped Ralph Reed and does a Sunday Paper column each week about marriage. Here’s her column announcing the pregnancy.

Hmm…Lisa is pregnant, Jimmy doesn’t have a job, and there is a complete glut of unemployed radio talent across the U.S., and particularly in Atlanta. I sure hope for Lisa’s sake that Jimmy is being paid NOT to work by his old network.

Lisa is one of the most annoying women in Atlanta. Imagine her as a mother. I really feel for the unborn child.

I love/hate how Lisa’s column is essentially about being Jimmy’s wife. She’s so vacuous.

I remember reading one of Jimmy’s entries in his blog that mentioned a tv program he and Lisa liked to watch. Apparently she watched an episode before he had a chance to see it and decided for Jimmy that he shouldn’t watch it and deleted it. When I found out she had a connection to Ralph Reed it didn’t surprise me at all.

Maybe Jimmy can get a job at WRAS. Their management staff could use someone with experience and their air staff could use some talent.

Gross. Jimmy was in high school when I was born and I’m 30. Maybe they can save by hiring just one nanny to change Jimmy’s and his kid’s diapers.
And what does his wife do besides whine? Certainly no one would call that column of hers journalism. Its just whining in print form.

Lisa Baron is a no talent, gold digging waste of human flesh. Why can’t she and her loser husband just go away? We don’t care if you can afford a $150 dog collar and expensive shoes. I really feel sorry for your child.If it’s a girl, she will just be another J(ewish)A(merican)P(rincess) like Lisa.

Number one you have no right to speak about someone without knowing them personally, and I am a young Jewish American and I happen to take offense to the term JAP. I think that your comment was out of line. The only thing I took away from your comment is that you are an angry, jealous, unhappy, and racist human being who needs to focus on your own life and problems versus someone elses.

You obviously have never had a child of your own or have been pregant. I doubt your name is Sarah, you probably aren’t even a girl and you probably work for Creative Loafing. Sweet racial slur, by the way. I can’t wait to hear all about her pregnancy!!!!!!! LIfe’s too short and it’s good to finally hear some good news for a change.

but you’re probably right …sarah is 100% an alias. Not too many girls bust out with such aggression …even behind the veil of message boards
it is true that jimmy’s wife is an awful writer and the kind of woman we all love to hate …but you know how badly the sunday paper needs content. it’s not like she gets any cash for her musings
props to jimmy for firin’ up the oven. Good for you man - it’s not like it matters what any of these radio geeks and sales hacks have to say. their just bored becaujse no one is buying any ad time …so they post here. they just need love.
i hope the kid is born healthy, happy and secure.

Yes my name is Sarah you idiots. It’s women like Lisa that give decent, hard working women a bad name. If she or you can’t take the heat, then get out of the spotlight. She has chosen to put herself in the spotlight so take the good with the bad…and Kelsey….I am Jewish myself and take offense to Jewish women who act is such a way that makes them a JAP. Gives all of us decent Jewish women a bad name.
