10/11: Star 94’s stunt (updated)

This morning, Star 94’s long-time morning show Steve & Vikki was off the air, along with the rest of hte air staff the entire day. There was a taped message saying a “new lineup” would be announced Thursday at 7:20 a.m. General Manager Mark Kanov declined to comment to me. But at 4:30 p.m., the Star staff was told it was indeed a stunt, that the “new lineup” they are going to announce is the Star 94 Jingle Jam Christmas concert “lineup.” Two acts I heard are the Fray and Hinder. In other words, it’s not a format switch or changes in DJs. It’s just a promotion. So Star fans, just enjoy a day of all music, no jocks.
Some Star employees, though, had taken it seriously and were worried and upset until they were told it meant nothing. Sounds like something Michael (played by Steve Carell) on “The Office” might do.

The DJ’s are off today? Then I may actually be able to stomach listening to star 94!
Lets pray that Steve & Vicki are off the air, because they SUCK! Hey, how about taking Cindy & Ray, and Nudge off for good while you are at it?!

I sure hope they don’t replace them with the new girl - Shannon. She is such a snob! She needs to go back to FL or Penn State.

Regardless of what’s going on, it was really nice to have song after song on the radio this morning driving into work. Ah, the good old days when radio stations played music!

That’s the best news I’ve heard all week! Finally a ray of sunshine in an otherwise dreary world!
How they were allowed to broadcast for as long as they have is completely beyond me!
Steve & Vicki are the reson I switched to Q100 - best move I ever made!

I personally will be very sad if they do not come back on. They are the reason I listen to Star 94.
I will be switching to another station if they are not back on the morning show soon.

Because they couldnt talk about the daycare owner being arrested for DUI with out many calls asking about Cindy???

I don’t doubt it’s a stunt.
They wouldn’t let Steve and Vikki leave the morning show without a big to-do involving celebrity guests and soaring advertising rates.
(That being said… I’m 26 and I remember Steve and Vikki on the air when I was in middle school. Wonder when they will sign off for good? It takes dedication — and excellent salaries, I’m sure — to do what they’ve done for so long. So many phone interviews, chats about the weekend box office, concerts populated by kids 30 years their junior, etc. I’d go nuts.)

Steve an Vicki have worn the show thin-boring! Too much talk and not enough good music-music you can understand the words to and they don’t sound the same. Time for Steve and Vicki to pull a Gary McKee-RETIRE!

Yea I would be shocked if Steve and Vikki were pulled off the air…I have so many memories with them growing up and my friends and I continue to listen to them every morning. They are my favorite morning show in the ATL and I tune in every morning when my alarm goes off at 6a

If anyone should leave it is the annonying Cindy, Ray and Shannon. I listen less and less in the afternoon because I can’t stand Cindy - Ray is getting that way. Shannon - why was she even brought here? She never shuts up!!! Trafic? She talks about everything but CORRECT trafic reports.
If Steve and Viki leave, I will stop listening all together. GET RID OF CINDY FOR GOOD!!!

I personally love to listen to both Steve and Vikki and also Cindy and Ray. They make my very long commute to and from work a lot more tolerable. Bring them back TOMORROW!!!!

If any star 94 execs are browsing the blogs to see what atlanta thinks..we love star with no djs, at least without your current ones! Keep it this way and you might get your audience back.

Why don’t you losers get a life? Star 94 has more fun events and promotions than any other station in the city. Not to mention how much they do for our community. If you don’t like it, don’t listen, but why do you have to be such haters? Peace not war my friends…

I just want to know how OLD those pictures of Steve and Vikki are. Gotta be at LEAST 10 years old. Everyone always hates on Leslie Fram for being old but she’s the same age as these baby boomers!
Get some new headshots S&V, and show all the soccer moms out there how much older you are than them! They’ll love it! Geezers!
