While I’m on vacation, I’m glad to see sports helping me out. Here’s the story of Don Sutton leaving Braves announcing after 17 years..

This sucks!!! Don is a fantastic announcer…he’s been in the bigs, he’s very insightful, and adds just the right amount to the broadcast…he doesn’t blabber on and on and on like Tim McCarver.
If they wanted to make a better combination in the booth, they’d keep Sutton and Van Wieren together and the’d dump Skip Caray and replace him with Bob Rathbun to go with Joe Simpson. Bob has that cool radio DJ voice…and Skip is just plain grumpy and unhappy.

I agree with Bud. Don was the best. I hope we didn’t lose Don because we got Chip.

Just another stupid move by TimeWarner. They’ve run TBS in the ground. There’s not many things left to watch on there. The Braves games won’t be the same with Don Sutton. I’ll will surely miss him as will any true Braves fan will.

I agree with Bud as well. It’s a shame that they’re letting Sutton go. I wish they had dumped Skip Caray instead. Sure … I get it … Skip’s dad was famous but Skip has to be one of the rudest announcers out there. Have any of you listened to him during a radio call-in show? He treats every caller like they’re an idiot whether they’re familiar with the game or not. To him, every question is stupid and deserves a snarky answer. I’d love to ask him personally why he thinks he’s entitled to behave that way.

This is very sad…DS was one of my favorites on the braves tv booth…oh and ‘bud’ bob rathburn is terrible..he is boring..and dont even get me started on this partner..he shows no emotion..and doesnt even care if the braves win or lose…all he does is cheer for the nats everytime we play them..he gets real excited about those games…I hope after next year..DS will get a job for a big company commentating games..ie espn ..doubt he would go to fox..

Everybody seems to hate on Bob Rathbun, but he’s got a smooth delivery style and he’d be a good match to go with an older analyst like Pete or Don. Simpson is OK but he’s not that distinctive.
Putting a winning product on the FIELD will be the tricky part for next year.
