10/3: V-103 Frank Ski renews contract

V-103’s Frank Ski has renewed his contract with the station. He won’t say what the terms were, much less the dollar amount. Typical radio contracts last three years, which would take Frank to at least 2009. Reportedly, his last contract was up Sept 30. It’s possible he signed a shorter deal though nobody is saying. He did sign rather last second, relatively speaking. He’s been here now for eight years and has been a dominant force for a dominant radio station.
When Ryan Cameron signed with V-103 last year for afternoons, there was a lot of murmuring about him taking over the morning show when Frank’s contract was up. That doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon. Frank has the numbers on his side. Ironically, since Ryan left the morning scene, Frank and Wanda’s ratings have shot up. In fact, V-103’s afternoon numbers have grown sharply under Ryan, too. So for V-103, despite the expense of paying two morning show-level salaries, their revenues are certainly doing just fine to cover them both. It’s very much the Derek Jeter/Alex Rodriguez New York Yankee analogy working.

WHO CARES? Repeat every 3 plays music that sounds the same all day long. BORING! Get down and BOOGIE! And now with the news-it’s Lakeisha Kaniesha boogalow-5 brothers were shot and 3 were arrested in a drug bust in downtown Atlanta overnight. Meanwhile, 3 Sistas where arrested for solicitation of prostitution on Cynthia Mckinney Blvd early this morning. And Brian Nicholl’s attorney is claiming that the Prosecuter is trying to keep a brotha DOWN by not allowing him phone privileges so that he may scare the crap out of the witnesses and potential jurors who wish to fry his big behind. Nicholl’s attorney is asking that the trial be moved to Rwanda so that his client can get a fair trial with all his peers. Nicholl’s pleaded not guilty to the charges of shooting everybody in sight and killing 2 white people claiming he was oppressed for over 100 years.

How about reading all about Black men killing judges and claiming they did not do it? Man I was really hoping he was going to take that midnight train back to B-More. I truly miss RC in the morning — but it does make good business since for V-103 if the ratings are there.
But in the end, I really don’t care cause I be STEWIN’ from 3-7. :-)

I don’t understand why this morning show does so well. Frank is not funny or insightful. Wanda just goes “Right…mmmhmmm..yeah girl…” during phone calls etc…and Ms. Sophia and her Guhhhh Talk is straight up ghetto…that woman needs to work for the military…she can interrogate the terrorists by talking in that annoying voice..they would admit everything.

I guess the Atlanta Black Bourgouis has won again..If Ms Sophia has a contract, I hope it isn’t renewed beyond another 20 mins..these ghetto Atlanta spooks will accept anything.

The only reason I listen too it is because they have it on sooo loud at work and it happens to be about the only FM station you can get that’s clear enough in our building.

V-103 is successful because there is no true competition. Think about folks. Here’s a station that plays thes same 20 songs every two hours. Thank the heavens for 91.9 and 89.3 because they play neo-soul and jazz soul. Remember how fake frank tried to say he put india arie on the map when he actually would listen to 91.9 and then try and break the song on 103.—loser that he is. just check the cd inserts nobody thanks frank…it’s always 91.9 and 89.3—-fake a#$ station with lousy personalities in the morning….

UGH!!!!!! He (and his lame morning show crew) is the reason I LEFT V-103 in the first place!! Oh well… Guess it’ll be me and the Tom Joyner Morning Show for another three years! LOL!

The ONLY reason V-103 is the highest rated radio station in Atlanta is because of their frequency/signal. Most people working in office towers downtown and in buildings in the suburbs of the city, cannot get any other signals except for V-103 and 98.5. Frank-Ski is not a journalist (most radio DJs have advanced degrees), he is an overpaid groupie that only talks about things of interest to HIM and his family, not the rest of the city, state and/or world. He is self-centered and LOVES the sound of his own voice (glad somebody does).
Keep Ryan in the morning slot. When Ryan subs for Frank because Frank is out, the listeners can actually participate in the show.
V-103 wake up! You will eventually lose your audience the longer Frank is kept around. We now have iPods and don’t want to hear any of your drivel (songs included)…

V-103 keeps its ratings high because they give their market segment what they want. Other urban stations have come and gone since V-103 has been on the air. They make the numbers quarter after quarter and pay their bills. Hat’s off to ‘em. They’ll be at the top of the hill until and unless another morning radio team can push them off of that hill.

Frank Ski just seems to think only his opinion matters. Believe it or not Frank you can be wrong. Show your ability to be versatile and “agree to disagree with a caller and not just dismiss them. Wanda just say something worthwhile other than “right” and “Frank” and “Gurlllll”, and “right and frank and gurl” and that laugh -that is not contagious just annoying.
