10/3: Phil Terrana to join 99X morning show
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Just as an added aside that I didn’t have time to address yesterday, Phil Terrana AKA Mark Owens, the stunt dude at Q100, is going to take over as producer of the “new” Morning X in a couple of weeks. He has some leftover obligations under the name Phil Terrana but will be using his real name Mark on the 99X morning show.

It’s very odd that radio personalities would choose a name that’s completely unrelated to his/her actual name.

Dan…I know you were being serious, but in this case what you said was rather funny. You see, Phil Terrana is actually the real name of a prominent morning personality.

And the artist formerly known as Phil Terrana is none other than ……….Steve McCoy.

I learn something new every day on this blog. So if I follow the thread correctly, Steve McCoy’s real name is Phil Terrana? If so, that was pretty funny of Mark to take that name.

Samantha -
Learn how to spell before you post again. Your poor spelling detracts from whatever it is you were trying to say. And the same goes for the rest of you slackers. Some punctuation would be nice too.
Rodney, any room in the budget for a spell checker for the GED contingent on this blog?

Hey Leslie Diaphram,
Did Lanny suggest you run that bit with Gail Sheehan on “Hannity and the Cross-eyed Liberal.”? Terrible way to start and try to set the tone for something new. You don’t need any help from his redneck ass to make yourself any worse in the morning than you already are. Trust me. That’s all I heard today and I guess that’s all of the “NEW” show I need to hear. Why don’t you all just start a new segment called “Views from a Couch Potato Lard Head.” Check in with Lanny once a week and get the latest World View from Joe Sixpack. It’ll kill.

Per the last commenter, I tuned in early yesterday morning and heard 99X broadcasting guys on the phone saying that they served and fought to protect our right of freedom of speech, but we need to watch what we say. It sounded like a Cindy Sheehan story had started the bit. Whether or not you like Sheehan, the irony of the caller’s statement should be obvious. While I certainly would have thanked the guy for his service, I would have called him on the irony of his statement. I might have suggested an high school level civics class for him as well. Americans have the right of free speech to insure that we do not have to watch what we say and so we can criticize any public official and the government, unlike Communist Russia, Nazi Germany, Cuba, Iraq, and most Mid East Countries. When the Morning X decided to go with a political bit, and did a “Fox News” by not asking the guy the obvious flaw in his GOP talking point, they lost me as a listener. And they did it early in the second morning! If I wanted to hear that BS, I would listening to those Regular Idiots. You know the ones who have been “over the top Pro GOP,” and who then lost their jobs for a year because of the GOP’s push against “what they call obscene” broadcast? That was the funniest thing to ever come off their show!

Thank you Gttim,
You said it better than I did. The other thing is, there wasn’t any news in the bit - Scammity just pulled it out of the file to avoid having to talk about the GOP page sex scandal, the war, or anything else really going on, I mean really going wrong. Just mean-spirited baiting and bashing of a woman who isn’t happy about losing her son. Even more so when repeated in a so-called ‘newscast.’
Drop the word news just call it what it is, ‘Leslie’s Pile.’

Yes, it was an old story. Perhaps not the wisest choice. But, for accuracies sake, Leslie did mention the story about the Florida senator in every newspile. Also, whether you’re GOP or not, there are two ‘facts’ here. When you put yourself in the public spotlight, you’re opening yourself up to gross scrutiny (as any poster here can tell you!). Cindy has done that. Second, ‘Freedom of Speech’ is such for people who are educated, uneducated, on-air, homeless, pretentious, religious, homosexual, and three-fingered. Perhaps it’s not freedom of speech we should worry about, it’s this ‘freedom of listening’.
This is a hot topic… and I have a sneaking suspicion that they weren’t trying to come off right wing (though obviously they are) they were trying to say ‘hey, we’re gonna go there’.
Also, if you wanna get political about 99x, go check out 99xwatch.com. This topic was about Mark being a producer on the new show. I didn’t listen to him on Q100 but ‘new’ blood around 99x can’t hurt…

Anyone who’s listened to 99X for any length of time knows that Leslie is absolutely 100% biased toward the right-wing end of the political spectrum. Toucher would occasionally inject some progressive viewpoints, but these were few and far between—especially after the goober brigade inundated him with angry emails. So yeah, get ready for lots more pro-conservative ramblings from Leslie “I’m reading as bad as I can” Fram.

Boo-hoo-hoo. Well I’ll miss PhilMark but his replacement Hoss is really hot. Too bad he sounds like Bill Clinton though. But hey, I’m not choosy.
