October 25: Porsche Foxx releases a statement
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
This sounds like a much humbler Porsche Foxx than the one we heard from last December after her DUI arrest. In state criminal court, the former V-103 afternoon jock agreed to a plea agreement in August which included 36 months probation, 240 hours of community service and alcohol rehab. The plea agreement also said she had to serve five days in jail in September though I don’t know what ultimately happened.
Dear Peach Buzz-AJC
The past 10 months have been extremely challenging, personally and professionally. Accepting a plea agreement allows me to not only bring a very emotional and difficult chapter in my life to close, but relieve my family, friends and fans of the humiliation.
I’ve stopped asking why and began to say “thank you for my journey.â€? My highly publicized storm has taught me to learn from life’s experiences and be accountable for my actions. Success is a journey, not a destination!
My losses do not compare to what I’ve gained. A brand new Porsche Foxx chapter has begun! I’m so excited to carry on with my passion for being a liaison to make the difference in our communities. Having been one of the highest rated radio shows in Atlanta was a blessing. I hope to continue to receive miraculous prayers, overwhelming support and participation from my fans when I return to the airwaves.
I’ve grown tremendously over the past 10 months. What didn’t kill me, made me stronger!

It’s amazing how all of a sudden she’s sorry and her life has turned around for the best. Had she not got caught she wouldn’t be sorry for a thing and her life would have still been the same with her doing all the same bad stuff. Note to Porsche: Celebrities are not above the law. I have to admit that I never heard your program but did read about what happened. Your letter to the Peach Buzz is a bit confusing. If I am correct I didn’t see an apology in there. It does however, in my opinion, show that you have seen your error and are looking to make some positive changes. I detect a bit of an attitude in your letter. We all make mistakes. The key is fess up about them, taking personal responsibilty, and correcting the behavior. It seems that you have learned from your mistakes. You paid a hefty price for them. I was so glad that you chose not to use the victim of circumstances/race or woman card. That in itself shows the character you have as person.
Continue to change. This experience will make you a better person. Perhaps this event will put you at a better radio format altogether…..

Yes, success is a journey. Change is a process not an event blah blah. For once, I would like to see someone take responsibility for their mistakes, accept the punishment and move on. Half the time, what happens to most people is karma of some kind. Your character and heart will compensate for any wrong that you do not deserve. And by all means, leave God out of it. I am sure he gets so tired of hearing his name brought up in BS. A cocky radio disc jockey who got caught driving drunk, went to court and took a plea does not constitute a miracle. If you feel it brought you closer to God, great. But keep it you yourself…..we do not care.

I don’t think she’s after sympathy. This is her battle not mine or yours. And I don’t think it’s fair to say she’s only acting because she “got caught”. Did it ever occur that perhaps this is what needed to happen to help P. Foxx get herself together. It’s not my judgement; if she is not being honest then that’s her inner challenge.

In AA, the definition of insanity is making the same mistakes over and over again because you think you can control your drinking. Admitting that you have a drinking problem is the first road to serenity. Serenity has nothing to do with using someone else’s attitude to inspire your behavior. Drinking problems are problems of personal responsibility and to “accept the things I cannot change; change the things I can; and have the wisdome to know the difference” is a powerful tenent to live by … much better than the “…haters your motivators” mantra. Anyone who spends the type of time Ms. Fox appears to be recommending they spend worrying about what other people think as a catalist for self-motivation is wasting a tremendous amount of personal time and energy. Just get on with your life and leave the angst of others behind. Get on with your life, Ms. Fox, but remember that you can’t control it. If you think you still can, you will fail again.

Well many people drink and drive and some get caught and some don’t. When you’re a radio personality, nightlife and partying is impossible not do. But you don’t have to bring marijuana into it! And Porsche, you knew you were nailed from the start why did you have to lie and act like the victim for “us” to believe it? I do believe everyone needs another chance but Porsche had already gotten caught for the same thing before. And then didn’t have any insurance or license!! What if she had killed someone just because she had selfishly wanted to go out and party that night? If it was a work thing, she didn’t have to drink and get high!! I don’t know. I have sympathy for her because she needs to start again somewhere but i hope she takes a cab next time she’s out partying!!!

To everyone who wants to play judge, jury, and excutioner - you guys got a lot of nerve to question P. Foxx sincerity. This event could have happen to cause her to change Mrs. Foxx’s destructive behavior. At least she is now getting the help she needs. No one is perfect. Its a good thing that you got caught. God’s ways are not our ways! He knows whats best. Be strong, this is just the first step in what God is doing in your life. It took courage to make that statement. Now it will take much more to stand. Be still and know that God is working it out for you, even if you are never on the air again. Pray for those that speak all manner of evil against you! Sometimes it takes for us to be exposed for us to humble ourselves to the will of God. Just thank him that you still have your life! Stop getting high? It seems to me the problem was drinking AND getting high. Sorry, but most people who toke aren’t the dangerous people on the roads; it’s the drunks.
She was drunk and I’m glad noone was hurt or killed. Hopefully this will be a huge wakeup call and it won’t happen again. However, if it does, then I think she should get the maximum allowable sentence.

I read your statement just fine, BA. There still is no evidence that smoking while driving causes accidents. Sorry. However, drinking AND smoking certainly isn’t a good combination because together they enhance the effect.

Let me assure you, BA, I cannot drink two glasses of wine with dinner and be fine. Everyone is different. However, I’m responsible enough to not get on the roads if I’ve been drinking; which happens about twice a year.

How about being motivated by personal pride, self respect and character? 2) As for “casting the first stone,” read the many parts of the Bible about rebuking the sin, and facing the consequences. That is similar to the fequent mis-use of the word “judge.” 3) Taking her at her word about starting over, that is good. However, that has little to do with her actually earning respect for it. Talk is cheap, especially in a press release. If she does earn her way back, great.

All I can say is BRAVO to both sides. On one end you have a group saying “Hey, she made a mistake, no-one is perfect, get over it!” And, on the other end, you have a group saying, “She is not sincere, so she gets no sympathy!”
Well I have to agree with everyone who has Porsche on the ups!! She made a mistake and yes, we are entitled to make them. The only man to ever walk this earth without sin was Jesus and unless something has taken place that we don’t know about, Jesus has not returned for the final show just yet.
It is so easy for someone to sit and point out everything that Porsche did wrong, but can those same people point out 10 things she did right? Probably not because they are too busy looking for the bad.
Who cares if her apology was not sincere, that is between her and God, not us. So all of you “Porsche Put-downers” need to realize that for every one finger you point at her, you have 3 pointing right back at you. “Sweep around your own front door.”
I have never done marijuana and I would never drink and drive, but I am not the one to judge what someone else does.
The bible says “BE SURE YOUR SINS WILL FIND YOU OUT!!”
And just remember there wasn’t a name in front of that statement or behind it, so why you all are working so hard to put Porsche down and question her motives, I need that same reaction when something you’ve done wrong in your life is put on blast.

Is it not possible that this woman has learned her lesson and on the road of redemption? There were a series of events that drastically changed her life, whether self-inflicted or “karma.” But sometimes, we have to hit rock bottom to get the message. Sometimes, things happen to us so we may be a testimony to others. Sometimes we are allowed to see other’s trials to get us to look at ourselves & change our ways. Look at all that has happened in the past few months/years with the multiple natural disasters, multiple wars, and other horrible things happening in the world. That’s God is trying to get our attention. But a lot of people still don’t get it. I don’t know if you believe in a higher being or not, but regardless if you do or don’t, we all should have empathy for our fellow man. That’s what wrong with our country. People think so much of themselves, that the next person is a piece of trash just by the color of their skin or social class. When are we going to come together instead of tear each other down? Think about that the next time you find yourself kicked when you’re down & in need of a kind word or a compassionate hand on the shoulder. But if you really must spew hate, do something constructive & go on the GA or National Sex Offender website & help protect our children from being raped or help prevent Human Slavery.

In reading all the comments I think this is the epitome of the type of hypocracy that goes on in Atlanta. Ms. Foxx’s radio show was one where she constantly was airing everyones’ “dirty laundry”. But come to find out she has a lot of her own. This was not the first DUI Ms. Foxx recieved, so its evident she had / has a problem. I think what blew this story up was the fact she presented herself as very self-rightous. How does the old saying go “… if you live in glass houses…”? Now she wants to talk about God, and her journey blah blah blah. Honestly Ms. Foxx were you thinking about God at 4:30 AM riding dirty, with expired tags, no insurance, and expired tags? As a Mercer University Graduate, and a current Graduate student, I strogly feel that the english language is quite flexible. The term “hater” may soon be apart of the Webster Dictionary just as other words of slang conotation have been published.

Mark - Wrong again. There is a reason arrest and criminal records are public information. That would be because the public at large are the victims of the crimes, and the legal parties in interest. I would like to know how many people would support her if she killed or injured someone on her little joyride.
She drank She smoked She drove She lied Then she repeated this cycle.
The only reason she came forward in the first place is because it finally sunk into her polluted mind that she was not going to get away with it. I would like to know how much the investigation cost. How much of the tax payers money did she waste by lying? How much money will she gain by this publicity? How much money will she give back to the community that mindlessly follows her?

One of the greatest misundertsandings in the country is the difference between judge and jury. I find that odd since most of the pppl who misuse it do it under “Good Christian Guidelines”…i.e. don’t judge others. That same Bible you use to excuse every wrong deed and silent all those who speak up for righteous living also says “know them by their fruit”. You see, Judges sentence someone to a place for a certain length of time after they have been deemed guilty. JURIES are the fruit inspectors that decide IF the fruit is good or bad, right or wrong, guilty or innocent. It is PERFECTLY acceptable to “Juror” Foxx. She has admitted guilt. As to what shall happen to her bc of this is for the Judge.

While I certainly don’t support what this woman did during and after her arrest, she deserves the same chances as any anonymous addict would have. You people judging this woman are the most hypocritical people there are. I’m sure most of you have a friend or family member that has a drug and/or alcohol addiction. Should they not be given a second chance? Sure they should but only if you know them personally, right? Hey Porsche, I am a true fan of yours and am glad that you have truly learned form your experience. I remember you for the 24hr clothes drives and school supplies you got for unfornunate kids. That’s what’s important what’s in your heart. Jennifer…It is so funny how people will change the subject when the coverstion is not going their way. THE PRESIDENT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS. But the way people blame him for EVERYTHING…I guess it is completely reasonable that he held her down, made her drink, and then made her drive. How about responding to the way she never apologized? I’m not very familiar with Ms. Foxx or her radio station being that I am new here, but what I would like to say is that I know that not one person is without sin or wrong doing.That being said, I wish her the best and hope that she does get her act together and stop drinking and driving. Being that she is in the public eye and some what of a role model for individuals, young and or old, she should be upheld to a higher standard because she is being watched. I can’t say that I admire you for speaking out. Everyone speaks out after they have been caught! There are many lives that are shattered each day, due to drunk drivers. The fact that you did not kill someone is the true blessing in your situation. The truth of the matter is, you should be in jail. It’s the naked truth and everyone should take a minute and think about it. Where would you be if you got busted? No one’s pointing the finger, but it is what it is. The LAW is, if you drink and drive, you go to Jail. Y Should she be exempt. She could have killed your mother, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, etc. I’m not interested in your apology. I Just want you off the street until your drinking problem has been taken care of. I don’t know about any of you others writing comments, but need a phone call stating that Porsche has killed any of my loved ones…and i’m sure they don’t need one informing them that she has killed me!

First of all I used to listen to rocking the box with Porsche Foxx all the time. Not one time when I would listen to her did she mention God or her so called beliefs.
Porsche Foxx – I don’t think you are sorry in the least bit. I do think you were embarrassed and you embarrassed your family, friends and your employer. Didn’t you get fired from V103? How many times did you get caught, was the media right that you tried to use your celebrity status with the police officer not to arrest you? Please get over yourself and take responsibly for your actions. The Judge went way too easy on a DUI charge what would you have said if you had gotten into an accident because you were too intoxicated or too high to drive?
Porsche Foxx go to rehab do your little community service and see and pay your fines to your probation officer every month then come back and tell us you have changed and you are stronger. While you are doing your community service you might want to do it at an elementary school so you can learn how to spell.

I’ve read a lot of posts about God, and compassion, and “you go girl” crap (bet you got that from Oprah). Believeing in a Higher Power, and having compassion for someone is a wonderful thing. This lady has put herself out there as some form of personality, and is going to be judged to a higher degree than most common, faceless folks. Have I made mistakes in my life? Oh heck yes, what person hasnt, but I also like the post about getting caught this time. Im sure this isnt her 1st time getting loaded, and getting behind a wheel of a deadly weapon. Here is one more twist, I have lost a sister to a drunk driver, and thank goodness the drunk got killed too. Usually the killer gets a reprieve on their live, but is ruined forever. To Ms. Fox all I can say is get your life straightened out, and dont go away mad, just go away.

Everyone is accountable for their actions and you have suffered professionally and suffered the ultimate embarrassement personally. By MIKE MORRIS The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Published on: 12/20/04 An Atlanta radio personality was arrested early Sunday on drug and traffic charges, DeKalb County police said.
An officer patrolling I-285 around 2 a.m. observed Porsche Foxx, the afternoon deejay on WVEE-FM, driving “extremely slow and erratically� near Bouldercrest Road, DeKalb police spokesman Dale Davis said Monday.
The officer stopped Foxx, 39, on Moreland Avenue, and she showed “signs of extreme impairment,� Davis said, adding the V-103 FM personality also had a small amount of marijuana “on her person.�
Foxx, whose real name is Stephanie Calhoun, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving with a suspended or revoked license, driving an unregistered vehicle, having no insurance and impeding the flow of traffic.
She was booked into the DeKalb County Jail, and released on $4,025 bond early Sunday afternoon.
FOXX followers: Your beloved PF was driving drunk, unregistered vehicle, no insurance (they can look that up by your tag number if you have insurance) and driving on a suspended licenses. If you want to pray for someone why not pray for the kids who I teach at the inter-city schools who just want to learn and get an educations so they can get out of the projects and have a better life, or pray for the Hurricane victims who have nothing, or pray for the troops and their families while they are away. Let’s educate ourselves about Miss Porsche Foxx before we start defending her.

PF Hater, thanks for your observations. Those are the facts. It’s easy to tell the “girlfriends” that stand up, and pull for their sister. I dont hate PF, but I certainly dont care for her.
