October 25: Porsche Foxx releases a statement
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
This sounds like a much humbler Porsche Foxx than the one we heard from last December after her DUI arrest. In state criminal court, the former V-103 afternoon jock agreed to a plea agreement in August which included 36 months probation, 240 hours of community service and alcohol rehab. The plea agreement also said she had to serve five days in jail in September though I don’t know what ultimately happened.
Dear Peach Buzz-AJC
The past 10 months have been extremely challenging, personally and professionally. Accepting a plea agreement allows me to not only bring a very emotional and difficult chapter in my life to close, but relieve my family, friends and fans of the humiliation.
I’ve stopped asking why and began to say “thank you for my journey.â€? My highly publicized storm has taught me to learn from life’s experiences and be accountable for my actions. Success is a journey, not a destination!
My losses do not compare to what I’ve gained. A brand new Porsche Foxx chapter has begun! I’m so excited to carry on with my passion for being a liaison to make the difference in our communities. Having been one of the highest rated radio shows in Atlanta was a blessing. I hope to continue to receive miraculous prayers, overwhelming support and participation from my fans when I return to the airwaves.
I’ve grown tremendously over the past 10 months. What didn’t kill me, made me stronger!

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Here’s the press release. (Warren resigned a few weeks earlier, saying he was burned out. But he didn’t say what he was going to do next exactly.)

October 25: Arbitron story
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Here was what ran in the paper today related to the summer Arbitron ratings..
Based on paper diaries, Arbitron numbers can create some strange results in the short term. So it’s always wise to take the numbers with some grain of salt or look at them over a longer length of time. Most radio stations live and die by the numbers, though, since advertisers often base their buys at stations on these numbers, especially target demographic breakdowns like 18 to 34 or 25 to 54. Nobody buys based on the 12-plus numbers, which are more for ego than anything else.
And as in TV, Madison Avenue continues to have a bias against people over 55. That’s why Cool 105.7 no longer exists.
More aggressive smaller stations like 790/The Zone will hand sell to advertisers and given how valuable those male listeners are, the station does a good job despite relatively modest ratings and signal. (Believe it or not, the Zone actually landed in the top 10 men 25-54, tied with 99X in the summer.)
And as I expected, 99X’s morning show defended the ratings’s poor 12-plus numbers because it’s still doing okay in its target 18 to 34 male demographic. The Toucher, Leslie & Jimmy show is ranked no. 3 in that demo. It’s no. 9 among all 18 to 34 year olds, down from No. 5. “It doenst matter,” I caught Jimmy saying. “The numbers speak for themselves. If you’re under 35, you’re listening to the show.” “White male,” Toucher added.
I’ll post more ranking breakdowns as the week goes along, especially if the news is slow.
