What are Atlanta’s best blogs?

Before I go, dine, explore, shop, anything, I Google.

And what provides the best results, the unfiltered opinion, the option I never thought about? Usually some random blog.

I like it that way. Open-source life, let’s say.

So what are the best local blogs out there, whether for reading pleasure or information? The AJC has a gigantic list of blogs. Creative Loafing, too.

And then there’s APWBWGTTG, or Atlanta People With Blogs Who Get Together To Drink. (Which, by the way, has its June meetup at 7 p.m. tonight at Universal Joint in Decatur.)

But those are just big lists from well-known sources, or at least within easy stumbling distance of a poorly worded Google search.

What’s your required Atlanta online reading, the best blog, the best blogger, whether it keeps you informed, or looking reeeeeaaaalllly busy at work?

Well, I’ve either had the first post or one of the first 5 posts on a number of blogs here on AJC, so its pretty clear that I tend to stay around here.

Honestly, I know of no other place for ATL (or even GA) specific blogs on numerous topics.

Which is one of the primary reasons I like these blogs here on AJC. I can talk about nearly topic I might be interested in SOMEWHERE on one of these, and I have the same basic page on any of them.

I can get my politics fix with either Jim Galloway (Political Insider), Jim Wooten (Thinking Right), Opinion Talk, or (before he started his Presidential Campaign) Bob Barr’s Barr Code.

I can get my A/E fix both here on Newcomer and at either Movie Talk, Radio and TV Talk, or ATL Arts (specifically Phil Kloer’s book stuff).

And then I have the educational interests over at Get Schooled, the married life/ parenting interests over on Momania (still would be nice to get a blog started with a similar style to Momania but written by a man and geared more towards men in particular), and Keith Still’s Still Traveling is nice, though I wish she had a chance to write more than once a week.

Only complaint I have about AJC’s blogs is I wish Woman to Woman was made to fit in with the rest of the blogs rather than having its own page scheme.

I enjoy reading The Blissful Glutton’s blog entries on places to eat in Atlanta.

Thanks for the APWBWGTTD shout-out! I’d also like to plug our friends at Yelp! Atlanta, who do a great job at providing reviews for things in and around Atlanta.

One of my favorite Atlanta blogs is I’m Just Sayin’. This personal blog is well written, funny and as addictive as they come — plus she dines at the most fabulous restaurants in town, so it’s a great source for reviews.
