Oscars: Make your predictions now
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Time to put up or shut up, movie buffs. The Oscars are Sunday night, and it’s prediction time.
Here are my predictions:
Picture: “Slumdog Millionaire.”
Actress: Kate Winslet
Actor: Sean Penn
Supporting Actress: Viola Davis
Supporting Actor: Heath Ledger
Director: Danny Boyle
Just to be clear, this is who I think will win, not who I wish would win.
Your turn. Post your predictions before the show starts. I used my own name; do you have the guts to do the same? We’ll do a post-mortem on everything Monday morning, and I hope I have time to circle back and see who did the best on predictions.

Are you kidding me about Brad Pitt?!? His fake southern accent was HORRIBLE—one of the worst attempts at a southern accent I’ve ever heard.

My prediction is that not a single recipient will say anything critical about the economically destructive “stimulus” package or the grossly unfair mortgage bailout that their messiah has gotten passed in the past two weeks. Criticism can only be directed at Republicans (not that they don’t deserve it).

MrLiberty - you, and everyone else like you, needs to get over it. This is a site about movies, not about politics. He’s our President, support him or move on and keep your opinions to yourself. I’m so sick of every blog being ruined by people like you - wishing for something that didn’t happen.

If there were a republican president, the news the day after the oscars would be about all the stars that made negative comments about him or his policies. You know I’m right.

I vote for Clint Eastwood’s Grand Turino. It is one of the best I have ever seen and has a great moral to the story.

I have another prediction. I predict this blog will get off politics and discuss movies. How’s that sound?

Best actor Sean Penn for his portrayal of Harvey Milk in “MILK”. Top notch job and I’m never cared for him as actor nor his political views. However, nothing comes close to this first rate performance.

Slumdog looks incredibly lame. A picture about a terrible TV show that has spawned countless reality stains on my TV, with an Indian slant to it…yikes. Its victory Sunday will go right up there with Crash, American Beauty and Shakespeare in Love(the year Saving Private Ryan got absolutely hosed). Ledger(although Downey deserves it), Penn(another picture that a normal guy couldn’t sit through), Winslet (go ahead and bang Leo already and get it over with), Boyle, Davis.
