The splinter to the eyeball in Fulci’s “Zombie”.
The “spiderwalk” scene in Friedkin’s embellished “The Exorcist - Version You’ve Never Seen”.
The entire opening sequence of Argento’s “Suspiria”.
The rats invading the town in Herzog’s “Nosferatu”.
Pasolini’s “wedding feast” in “Salo’”.
The slaughter of the film crew in the climax of Deodato’s “Cannibal Holocaust”.
Tobe Hooper’s many scenes of vampires in the original TV version of “Salems Lot”.
The first appearance of the ghost ship in John Carpenter’s original “The Fog”.
The opening scene of Michael Mann’s “Manhunter”, ending with the killer shining the flashlight into the parent’s bedroom (from the killer’s POV).
Tom Skerrit’s (as Dallas) clausterphobic end in “Alien”.

The scene in “Halloween” where the girl gets into her car at night and the windows are fogged up. And she doesn’t see Michael Meyers, sitting in the back-seat, waiting to kill her, until it is too late.

In the original “The Haunting” when Julie Harris and Claire Bloom are in separate beds when the lights go out and Harris’ character screams because Bloom is holding her hand too tight - only for Harris to realize when the lights come up that Bloom is on other side of room and nothing corporeal was holding her hand.
Blood on Satan’s Claw - circa 1970 - British film - when something underneath the floorboards in the house starts scratching its way out.
The Other - 1972 - when Nile’s grandmother realizes what’s been going on.
Frankenstein 1932 version - when Dr. Frankenstein and his assistant go digging up corpses.
the Exorcist, when the priest realizes that the voice recorded is English spoken in reverse (and when Tubular Bells plays).
The Exorcist III (William Peter Blatty’s own true sequel to the original) - in the hospital a white draped figure silently darts across the screen with a horrible pair of surgical rib cutters.
Venom - 1979 - when I lifted my legs up off the floor of the theater because the mamba was loose in the house
The Changling - George C Scott realizes just what happened to the little boy causing him to haunt the house.
In the Mouth of Madness - Once they arrive in the town - it’s very Lovecraftian and the whole time thereafter is very disconcerting
Halloween - when the girl gets in the car with the fogged up windows - I can remember actually yelling at the screen for her to get out of the car!
