‘Best Song’ Award: Or ‘Hey, This is Actually Entertaining!!!’
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Presenters Jack Black and Will Farrell providing lyrics for the music that pushes long-winded winners off the stage: “This is it, your time is up. You’re BORING! Look at Catherine Zeta-Jones, she’s snoring.” And when Farrell got to the “Cold Mountain” nominee, he stung the pompous ex-Police-man by pronouncing it “Stiiiiiing.” Even Black couldn’t resist laughing.Permalink | Comments (2) | Categories: Oscars 2005

I loved the boring song, wonder if Jack and Will actually wrote it. I want to know the lyrics.

Next year, Will Ferrell and Jack Balck should just host the whole darn thing. That was easily the funniest part of the show. I must admit, actually, that the music this year was exemplary. The performance of the two songs from Cold Mountain, Annie Lennox, a “Kiss at the end of the Rainbow”, and a great rendition of the Belleville theme, all were fantastic. Beat the heck out of Crystal’s limp comedy, and some truly dull acceptance speeches. Kudos to Mssr. Brody as well, for lightening the moment and showing a little self-deprecation in front of a crowd that was hardly known for it.
