10/24: David Archuleta visiting Q100 Monday, Kelly Clarkson finishes album!

51CpgxaQlXL._SL500_AA240_.jpg

David Archuleta is on a promotional tour of radio stations to push his top 15 hit “Crush” and his upcoming album, due out November 11.. He comes to Q100 at about 8:30 a.m. Monday. I’ll be there but for some reason, not allowed to converse with the little Archie. Maybe another time. Nonetheless, I’ll get video and photos up asap.

I’ll also be doing a blog Sunday about my visit with Michael Johns at the NASCAR race here in Atlanta Sunday.

In other Idol news:

-Constantine Maroulis will be guesting on “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” on Fox tonight. I may or may not remember to tape it.

-Carrie Underwood denied to People that she has any bitterness toward Jessica Simpson over dating her ex Tony Romo. She also had a funny comment about her Madame Tussaud’s wax figure: “Honestly, it looks so good, it’s almost kind of creepy looking at myself.”

-Kelly Clarkson on her blog tells the world she’s finished with her album. No details yet:

I finished recording my record yesterday woohoo!!! Can’t wait to get it mixed and mastered and y’all to hear it! I LOVE the record! So so happy We had a show tonight in North Dakota and it was a great crowd! On our way to Minneapolis for another show and to meet Melissa Peterman’s family ….I hope they’re all like her because that means lunch will be awesome and very funny!

No questions to Archie from you? Well at least you are allowed to attend.

It’s nice to see Kelly getting more blog time, she had been absent for a while. My suggestion is that you forget to record “Don’t forget the lyrics”.

Constantine Maroulis? Who cares about him. I agree with JTesla, I wish you forget to record “Don’t forget the lyrics”.

I cannot believe the news about Jennifer! :(

Justin i was thinking the same thing; sad that anyone is murdered, they are saying at least one of them may have been a relative of Jennifer :-(

I’m watching Lyrics now…Constantine Maroulis doesn’t know much, LOL. But it’s for charity, so Wayne Brady will coach him up to a respectable amount, i’m sure! I have to say I enjoyed Pickler on 5th Grader much more, tho’.

Jennifer’s mother and brother, truly truly sad, and a missing nephew. Praying the child is ok!

David Archuleta is the real deal. Gotta love this kid. He is suuuuper talented and I search the internet to get everything of him every day, not to mention listening crush all the time… Love this kid to death

I hope Romy is under 18. If he/she is one of those middle aged people who obsess on Archie then what was posted is really creepy.

OMG what a terrible thing. How does someone recover from this? My thoughts and prayers go out to Jennifer and her family.

Don’t worry about not being allowed to talk to Archie. Basically it would go like this: Rodney: Hi David. How are you? David: Uh, gosh, haha. GASP I, uh, think, uh, yeah it is. haha GASP Rodney: Um, you didn’t answer the question. How are you? David: Uh, haha, uh. Gosh!

Rodney, have you tried contacting any of the season 3 idols for comment about the tragedy in JHud’s family? They must all be reeling from this news and worried sick about Jennifer and her family!

Heather, that’s all right, he can gasp his way all the way to the bank. Jealousy is an ugly disease, you should seek help. All his fans world wide adore him and WOW, young and old appreciate this musical genius. Proud to be an older Archie

It amazes me how David’s haters just can’t stay away from his sites. Admit it, he is fascinating. He is a rising superstar. Accept it and get over it.

UM…this is NOT an Archie “site”, it’s a blog about ALL the Idols, past and present.

Shay! Nice to hear from you! How’re you doing?

By Trinity

Veronica, seek help immediately. That “exchange” between Rodney and David was so obviously a joke. If you are so wrapped up in a celebrity that you get overly defensive over a little needling you NEED HELP and a life.

I’m good, Shay. Don’t know whether you’ve been following along or not but my mom moved into assisted living in early Sept and I’m learning what it’s like to have my life back again. It has it’s ups and downs. :-)

Hope everything is well with you. Did you ever start that teaching career? And your little sweetheart…how is he doing?

My little one is doing great. He’s four now. I haven’t started teaching yet. I decided to finish grad school first but may go on and start teaching next fall. Its easier to do my homework at my current job than it would be teaching a class now and then coming home to do homework! I have a lot of free time at my current job :)

Enjoy your free time. I know it can be stressful taking care of a loved one. My mom is going through it with her mom right now and she is stressed daily.

Be patient with your mom. I know that my hubby is very grateful that I have more free time now and I’m not quite as cranky.

Sounds like everything is going according to plan for you. I can’t believe your baby is already 4! Time flies, doesn’t it?

Good talking to you again. Keep in touch. :-)

TRINITY, LOL, look the pot calling the kettle black…you might need to join me on the doc’s couch…sorry but I just love David’s singing. And I know I need to stop defending David, but isn’t that what true fans are suppose to do..at least I don’t slam other artists, I think I have more class than that.

what is this site, someone’s personal e-mail address?

By Trinity

October 26, 2008 4:29 AM | Link to this

No, Veronica I don’t. You saw a joke made about a celebrity and flipped out over it. David isn’t your son, your grandson, your boyfriend, or related to you in any form. Reacting the way you did to some teasing directed at him on an Idol blog was over the top. Your need to defend somebody you don’t really know (and meeting him and getting an autograph doesn’t count) is bizarre.

Morning!

LOL Becky. Sorry…I hadn’t seen or heard from Shay in a long time so we were catching up. About a year ago this site used to have a social networking format. It’s hard to break old habits.

Heather-I just recently met David A and he wasn’t like that at all—-super well-spoken and articulate. I know he was shy when he was on AI—but he’s not like that anymore. There are numerous radio interviews with him—actually that took place just this past week, and he was a joy to listen to. He’s not that shy little boy anymore. I guess touring really made him grow up. Check out some of his recent interviews and you’ll see what I mean.

Teresa…it was a joke. I am not interested in his interviews. Stop acting like a Jehovah’s Witness with your very desperate attempts to convert the “nonbelievers.” LOL

The boy came across as awkward and inarticulate on Idol and the made up conversation between he and Rodney was just spoofing off of that. You must get the vapors during Saturday Night Live, seeing all those mean skits…

Be his fan but

Heather! LOL!!! Hang around..we’d enjoy your company! We never get all wrapped up in individual Idols, try our best to accept their faults along with their talents and almost always take the show with a grain of salty sarcasm. You’d be a big help in dealing with the fan-atics.

There seem to be a lot of people around here who think being rude to others is fine. Oh yeah, as long as it is under the cover of “sarcasm”.

By JTesla

October 26, 2008 6:00 PM | Link to this

No ‘accord’, there are some people around here who think being rude to others is fine, no sarcasm needed. You pretty much find that everywhere you go. However, I will not fault you for your sarcastic attack on the ability of others to express their opinions.

Rudeness is not fine anytime. And though all are invited to share their opinions, scarcasim often comes across as being a smart a*s.

By Deirdre

October 26, 2008 7:13 PM | Link to this

I’ve been a “smart a*s my whole life…why should I stop now?

Nobody was being rude. Opinions were expressed on both sides, including opinions about people who can’t laugh at an obvious joke because they think it denigrates their favorite Idol. Even Archie would laugh at Heather’s Rodney/Archie dialogue.

He’s a sweet kid with a very good voice. If he becomes a “superstar” good for him…but he’ll never get there if his fans can’t take ANY criticism…joke or not.

you ladies need to have a reunion face to face instead in here. The article is about the idols and not about your personal life and how your opinions are sacastic or not! Who cares! You all sound like a bunch of stuck up bitches anyway.

PS How would you know “Archie” (his name is David), would laugh at “Heathen’s” opinions. Get over yourselves HOW”S THAT FOR SARCASM!

Thank you! I value your opinion.

Archie(as he is referred to by all his Idol-mates and even by himself sometimes) is a name devised to separate him from the other David(the winner, I believe) who is often referred to as “Cookie”. I have actually seen him laughing when someone does a spot-on imitation of him. He has a delightful sense of humor about himself…too bad his fans don’t follow suit.

Next time, spell my name right, sweetie.

I love David and his music! So what if I’m not his age. You don’t have to be the same age as someone to love their music and appreciate them as an artist and a human being.

David is an incredible talent, extremely intelligent and endearing. He’s also gorgeous. You’d have to be deaf, dumb and blind to miss that one…and I ain’t. So there.
