7/16: So You Think You Can Dance comes to Gwinnett Arena Nov. 13

I’m not really following “So You Think You Can Dance” this season but if you are, mark your calendars for the victory lap tour, which hits the Gwinnett Arena Nov. 13. And by the way, I have a new laptop (or at least one who’s hard drive is making grinding noises.) So I’m back in business!

According to the tour press release:

Finalists participating include Chelsie H, Comfort, Courtney G, Katee, Kherington, Gev, Joshua, Mark, Twitch and Will. Jessica, who recently left the show due to an unfortunate injury, may return to the stage when the dancers embark on the nationwide tour.

Tix go on sale August 2 so check on ticketmaster.com as the date gets closer.

-And here’s the daily gratuitous dis about Ramiele Malubay, this time from MJ’s Big Blog review courtesy of Griffy from Salt Lake City:

Ramiele - She is so out of her league. Her performances weren’t terrible, but she just got drowned out by the crowd. Her onstage talking between numbers seemed super awkward. I think she is still sooooo nervous about all of this.

-How about this for random? Jordin Sparks is going to summer camp..

-Atlanta’s Sevendust isn’t stupid. Their latest single “The Past” features a guest vocal from Daughtry. Details here.

-Unions are trying to organize reality show employees, piggybacking on the “Idols Live” tour for publicity purposes. More details here.

-Forgot to mention that John Rich Monday during “Nashville Star” made it clear the producers of the show — not the judges — decided on the final contestants. And he was not pleased. Can you blame him?

-My numbers-obsessed friend Ken Barnes at USA Today posted the total sales of the various coronation songs here.. Given that back in 2002-03, most sales were CDs and now they are all downloads means a bit of an oranges to apples situation but Clay Aiken is at the top (and he didn’t even win!), followed by Kelly, Carrie and Ruben. Taylor is fifth but David Cook’s “This is My Time” will probably lapse it in a couple of weeks.

Rodney, congrats on finding your way back to us via a revived/renewed computer access, LOL!!! i’m going to save these links to look at tonight, hard to do at work, but it looks like a great variety of stuff for us!!!

We’ve been having fun at our house DVRing the old Star Trek Voyager series and watching them from the beginning… i’d forgotten how attractive Chakotay is, even with the tribal tatt on his forehead… i always DID like him.

and…. speaking of yummy star trek stars — Avery Brooks from DS9 has LONG been a favorite of mine!!! Waaaay back when he played Hawk both on “Spenser: for Hire” and on his own series “A Man called Hawk” … great actor, great looker!!! wooohooo!

I noticed this lately, well, actually I’m just bored so I’m posting, but I just wanna say I’m getting sooooo sick of all the negative recaps from the tour that people post online. You pay money to see them and they’re all negative about pretty much the whole thing.

I read one today where they were happy with Chikezie, Michael, Brooke, and the Davids. So pretty much they paid double for their liking, since they really only cared for half of the 10.

Apparently everyone looks horrible. And Ramiele is lost on stage. Also very nervous

Carly was a train wreck and was wearing weird gloves that they could not get off their mind

And Syesha was a scream fest. Her hair was horrible and the outfit. Oh and funnier her song at the end they say the cheers for it was because they were glad she was finally done and david was coming next. How about because it was an amazing performance? Guess that’s too much to say…

So, not that it’s any of my business, but why can’t people go enjoy a concert they pay for? This isn’t a competition anymore… I didn’t like Jason on the show and wanted him off! But that doesn’t mean if i went to the concert I’d be thinking let’s get this over with already…anyone got some positive reviews?

Regardless of how much I pay if I don’t like someone or their performance, I’m not going to say I did. I went to a concert a few weeks ago. Taylor Swift (my all time least favorite artist) was on the show. As open minded as I tried to be I just did not like her performance. I’m not going to say I did just for the sake of sounding positive.

Justin…you make a very good point. Some people have extreme difficulty ‘letting go’ of a competition. They do get their monies worth at the concert however because they go there for the express purpose of loving some and hating others.

That’s actually the first negative thing I’ve heard about Carly. Most reviews I’ve read say she’s much better in person than on tv.

Well you don’t really have to say you liked it… i mean you can say you weren’t crazy about it but you see the things they say are a little too much

I understand where you’re coming from Justin — but face it, just like politics or anything else, it’s all about negativity, imho. I’m all for the “if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything” rule, in GENERAL, although, I will say sometimes it’s just plan necessary to express the negative. I HOPE that i go through life at LEAST balancing between the two, and hopefully leaning a little to the positive side, LOL.

I think however, what happens is the negative stuff sort of stands out more than the positive… and people are always more willing to whine than pay compliments, it seems. may not be TRUE…but it does SEEM that way.

and btw i’m with you on taylor swift. i’m sorry. i tried to like her, i listened to her, i watched her. and i just do NOT “get” her.

The negs are what people seem to remember more thean the positive. That just seems to nature.

I heard Carrie’s new single “Just a Dream on my way home from work. The only thing that would bring out more hankies is if just a little bit of Taps was in the song. A military funeral will shake me to the core, as any funeral will do, but there is something about taps that will shake most anyone.

It’s getting a little diffulcult for me to pick someone to leave SYTYCD, I like all the remaining dancers, Joshua is still my top pick and I’m really starting to like Gev and Courtney alot more. If I have to pick the ones to leave, then I reluctantly choose Kherington and Mark, I think Comfort and Twitch might have saved themselves with their second routine.

If all those male singers make it to the finals on AGT , then I’m also going to have a diffulcult time deciding who to vote for.

I like the stories and jokes on Wednesdays or any other day.

One time I was at Powers Crossroads Arts Festival in Coweta County and this man walked up to me and said * What did the fish say when he swam into the wall?* Dam Its really not that funny, the funny thing was that a complete stranger walked up to me and said it.

All you sleepy heads get up and smell the coffee. Time to rise and shine!!!!!

Harm: I’m with you on SYTYCD. It is getting more and more difficult to whom should go home. It would’n suprise me if Katee won the thing. I will post my opinion from last night later this AM after my 7:30 meeting.

Good morning blogsters. The air is down in my section of the building. Lets hope they get it fixed soon, before it gets too hot today.

Yup, Sevendust isn’t stupid!!! They brought Clint back - first good move in a long time!!!

SYTYCD - I like pretty much all the guy dancers left, can we send 2 girls home? While Comfort did well on her 2nd dance, she really is a one-trick pony. Oh yeah, and if they asked me Twitch hit it harder! But now it is down to America to make the decision. Do they still do the dance for their life thing? Can we send Comfort and Courtni home?

good morning Mushbloggians one and… almost all …I’m with you guys on the SYTYCD thing…. If i HAVE to choose a guy to go, it’s Mark, and for the girls, as much as i loved her with Twitch, Kherington did not impress me last night.

I think courtni has come a LONG way, katee is great, comfort is better than jessica at any rate, so it’s getting REALLY hard to pick.

Hubby said the same thing, tho — can we just send 2 girls home this week? that’s what I said LAST week too, LOL. All I know is Joshua is incredible. Katee is amazing. Will is OMG good. It will be pretty funny if it comes down to Joshua and Katee for the finale, since they were so incredibly good for 5 weeks together!

later!

Morning!

Haven’t seen the dances yet but will catch up eventually.

Been reading about the cuts at the ajc. I’m a little worried about our friend and leader, Rodney. I hope that you get to stay on Rodney…unless leaving is something you’re thinking about as an opportunity. If that’s the case, can you take us with you???? :-)
