1/8: Jessica Sierra on VH1’s Celebrity Rehab

Come Thursday at 10 p.m (and surely repeated numerous times thereafter), we will get to view the train wreck that is Jessica Sierra (season four) as she goes through rehab with Dr. Drew (above) on VH1.

The Tampa Tribune previewed the show.. I caught a bit of the first episode in advance and Jessica shows up, noting how her mom was a prostitute and died of a drug overdose. This all happens before her relapse that landed her in jail last month. (The scariest part of the first episode is Jeff Conaway, who you might remember as Kenickie in “Grease” in 1978 or on “Taxi,” who is in a wheelchair and is completely out of it.)
The Trib notes that the show reveals Sierra being so depressed and in need of a drink that she says she’d suck on the alcohol swabs.
When she tells therapist Drew “Dr. Drew” Pinsky that she will never be able to hear her mother express love or regret, he tells her that she has to find a way to forgive and get on with her life.
“I see you clinging to your resentments, and resentments will kill you,” Pinsky says.
“I’m just glad she is alive,” Pinsky said in a recent telephone interview. “Relapse is part of the addiction problem. She needs treatment.”
He told Sierra that she is on a collision course with death and that she is on track to repeat what happened to her mother. “People will see that when she is off of drugs, Jessica is a very different person,” Pinsky says.
Most addicts relapse. Of the celebrities there, she was the only novice.
She remains in jail as I write this, supposedly pregnant and a porn tape on the way.
On the brighter side, with Fantasia gone, LaKisha Jones joins “The Color Purple” as Sofia on Wednesday.
And Carrie Underwood has her sixth top 20 country hit with “All American Girl,” the second single off her current album. Of her first five singles, four went No. 1 and only “Don’t Forget To Remember Me” (a relatively forgettable song) fell short at No. 2. I would put good money down that “All American Girl” will be her fifth No. 1 single. It’s in fact a better song than “So Small,” her last single and should help fuel “Carnival Ride” to 2 million copies sold. (It’s up to about 1.7 million).
Also, the first audition episodes will be Philadelphia January 15 and Dallas January 16. No date yet for Atlanta auditions but I’ll post that as soon as I hear.

for today, at least, my “bookmark” is still taking me to the interactive blog … not sure how long it will last, or what will happen to the posts made there … but I was curious, so I went out to the AJC and just clicked on the blog from there, and … voila! old style blog… as long as the other style is available, you may have to drag us kicking and screaming, Rodney! Much as we love you … this format is just NO fun!!! LOL

linny here…. it appears that the link to the interactive blog has finally bit the dust… we’ll see, since I can’t get back to it now, if War Eagle, kellyfan, Deirdre, IdolLVR and others will find their way here. otherwise, LOL, this will be my own lil refuge for a while…. geez, talking to myself? um….wait, i do that all the time anyway, so that’s not new…i don’t sing and/or dance, so no entertainment value either… hmmmmm…

Wasn’t Jeff Conoway on a SciFi series? My mind will not remember the name of it, but the captain’s name was Sheridan. Ring any bells? He was a pretty good actor, in those days, but I am sure he is much older now, as we all are. Just curious.

While I was waiting for my last comment to post(about 2 minutes) I went to IMDB and looked up Jeff Conaway for Denise. The only scifi thing I saw him in was Babylon 5 playing a character named Zack Allan. Hope that helps.

DAWSONVILLE, Ga. — An autopsy has revealed that slain hiker Meredith Emerson died from blunt force traume to the head before being decapitated.
Dr. Kris Sperry, the chief medical examiner for the State of Georgia, discussed the initial findings of the autopsy with the district attorney.
The family of slain hiker Meredith Emerson is scheduled to hold a press conference this afternoon to talk about their daughter’s death.
At a press conference at 3 p.m., Dawson County officials said Gary Michael Hilton, 61, has been charged with murder. He is being held at the Dawson County Jail.
Officials also said that Emerson was killed on Jan. 4, three days after the first report of her disappearance. No comments were made as to what happened during that time.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Monday night that Hilton led authorities to the body.
