10/6: Kelly wins “Ultimate Idol” competition

USA Today had Idol fans vote their top 10 among 15 “Idol” finalists culled from previous “revisionist” competitions. Diana DeGarmo came in last among those 15.
The top 15 in order were with no. of points (First place received 10 points, second place, 9 points; all the way to 1 point for 10th place)
Kelly Clarkson: 121,917
Carrie Underwood: 116,784
Clay Aiken: 115,365
Daughtry: 92,226
Melinda Doolittle: 82,408 (clearly, her fans wanted to correct the “injustice” of Jordin winning earlier this year.)
Bo Bice: 71,787
Elliott Yamin: 67,388
Ruben Studdard: 65,339
Fantasia: 64,667
Jordin Sparks: 64,334
Taylor Hicks: 61,800 (He’s the lowest rated actual winner)
Tamyra Gray: 59,962
Kimberley Locke: 56,378
Blake Lewis: 51,661 (I’m kind of surprised by the relative lack of support here.)
