9/17: Idol loses again to Amazing

Although “Idol” won a minor Emmy last weekend, the show lost the big one for the fifth year in a row to “The Amazing Race” for best competitive reality program. Even having the show on Fox and placing Ryan Seacrest as the host didn’t make a difference karma wise. Not to say “The Amazing Race” doesn’t deserve it but the “Idol” producers must be flabbergasted at this point!
And how did you like Seacrest as host? I thought he was nowhere near the presence of Conan O’Brien a year ago but he made a few funny jokes. And he had to crack a gay joke, because well, that is the elephant in the room right? After coming on wearing a Tudors-era suit that looked suitably absurd, he said, “This looked a lot less gay on the rack,” he said. “Can I keep it?” The funniest moment was simply when he greeted Teri Hatcher, the gal he, um, dated that, um, one time, or something like that.

I love The Amazing Race!!! That show totally deserved the award……….Idol is getting old……..and none of those folks have ever been an idol to me. I am waiting for the next season of The Amazing Race!!!!
