12/28: Carrie dating a QB!

Wow. Carrie Underwood is growing up. Not only is her CD still going strong after more than a year ((It’s No. 4 this week, pushing her sales to 4.6 million!), but she is now dating a Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo.

In an article in Wednesday’s Journal Gazette/Times-Courier of Charleston, Ill., Romo told the sports editor of his hometown paper that no, he’s not dating Dallas diva Jessica Simpson, but he is seeing Underwood, the 2005 American Idol and emerging country music star.
And again, I’m crediting the Idol Chatter blog for sales totals in the week leading up to Christmas. There are seven Idols on the chart this week which is impressive.
Chris Daughtry remains in the top 10 at No. 8, with another 250K sold, pushing him just over 1 million copies sold before the New Year! Wow! His single “It’s Not Over” continues to rock as well.
Taylor Hicks dropped sharply from No. 2 to No. 15 with 202K sold, hitting 500K in two weeks. That’s respectable but it’s clear he’s not going to sell as many copies as Daughtry.
Kellie brought in another 63K, dropping from 56 to 61, with a grand total of 336K.
Shockingly, Kellie outsold the second week of Fantasia, who saw sales droop 53% and her position on the chart drop from 19 to 63. She sold 62K for a grand total of 195K.
Clay;’s album dropped from 124 to 143, moving 24K. That means 483K so he’s guaranteed a half million next week. His Christmas CD from a couple years ago brought in 21K for 1.3 million total.
Ruben fell off the Top 200, selling 14,800, three copies short of making the top 200. He has now sold 181K.

I was watching the game, when I saw Carrie in the VIP box. She looks happy, and Tony played well. I bet Clay is a little pizzed, he probably wanted him! LOL!! I have promised myself that, I will find something more useful to do with my time, than to watch another season of AI. Seriously, I could use that hour to get a mean workout on.

It must be a very slow day in many offices around Atlanta because a lot of immature folks apparently have nothing better to do than be obnoxious and post ugly comments in this blog. I laughed when I heard Kellie Pickler was putting out a CD. But there’s actually some great songs on there. Take a listen at CMT.com or somewhere and you’ll see. “Small Town Girl” is especially catchy and should be the next single. I also bought Chris Daughtry’s CD. It’s pretty good, too. Rock on, Chris. Taylor Hicks gave up any street cred he might have had by shilling for Ford Escorts… those cars lame (but I do like the new Ford James Bond drove in Casino Royale).

TRUTHFULLY, unfortunately we have tried to have those unruly comments deleted from the blog numerous times in the past, but unless they are extremely horrible, they probably won’t be deleted. Some people feel like they have to put others down and say racist things to make themselves feel better. Just ignore the ignorant and post your comments so that we do have some positive feedback about the topic.

But good for Romo…he needs to push these 15 minutes of fame as long and as far as he can before he becomes another Jeff George bouncing from team to team for the next 15 years.

It is sad that all the runner ups have better music out than the actual Idol winners. Look at my man chris daughtry, he has sold more cd’s than sole patrol and karen i stick my finger down my throat mcphee. Kelly Clarkston is the only Idol winner who has done anything! Even kelly no talent pickler is doing better than clay aiken!

Hey folks, while I disagree with Timmy O’Toole’s negative comments regarding Fantasia being likened to a mule, I don’t think there’s anything racists contained in his statement. If Fantasia were of European descent and was called a mule, would that have been considered a racist rant? I don’t think so. That being the case, let’s not interject something into this that was never present. I agree with Carrie being at the game a distraction to Romo. Cannot say for sure but I would not be surprised.
Reuben: His songs are just all WRONG! Come on! “Why you wanna change me?” WTF!!!!!!!!!
He needs to be singing sensual, sexual love ballads. Then other songs that makes people move their bodies. I’m not saying be like Barry White. But we know already many chicks can go for a large, but romantic man or singer. His songs need to get people in the mood. Not freaking put them on a psychiatrist’s sofa!

I am glad that Roma is dating Carrie Underwood rather than Jessica Simpson. Jessica would of been a mistake. Carrie seems more mature and honest.
And I am glad that Kellie is doing well with her CD. I never did like Fantasia. Or Rueben for that matter. I do like Clay and Chris Daugherty. The Sole Patrol guy is okay. I really wanted Chris Daughtery to win.
I cannot wait till the next Idol.
