12/23: Kinnik Sky in play

Remember Kinnik Sky, the local gal who made it to the final 20 or so earlier this year? She’s now in a play called “For Better or Worse,” with Montell Jordan and David Tolliver at the Civic Center from January 16 to 21.

12/22: Ruben goes on weight loss campaign

After Ruben Studdard lost nearly 100 pounds himself, he’s now trying to get others to lose weight too, at least in his home state of Alabama.
Here’s an AP story.
“I’m not where I want to be, but I’m on the right track, and I’m excited about encouraging other Alabamians to begin their own weight-loss journeys,” said the 28-year-old singer, whose third album, “The Return,” was released in October by J Records.
