12/7: McPhee’s new album
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Kat McPhee finally talks in more detail about her new album to Billboard. Tentative title is “Never Saw It Comin’.” She said it will be “rhythm pop.”
“It’s not like really R&B or really poppy, but there are a couple of tracks that are really good for the ‘American Idol’ fans who voted for me and knew me as the ‘Over the Rainbow’ girl,” she said.
Release date is the end of January 2007 right now.
Chris Daughtry’s album, while ranked No. 2 this week on hitsdailydouble, was a smidgen behind “Hannah Montana” at No. 2 and Incubus at No. 1 and landed at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200. Carrie moved up to 13 and is about to hit 4 million in sales. Kellie Pickler is at No. 58 in week 5. Her sales are well over 190,000. Clay moved back up to 135 from 155 in his 11th week. He’s now well past 420K. Ruben dropped to 176 in his 7th week and he’s around 148K. Will Pickler ultimately outsell the season two winner?

Pickler outselling Reuben will be just sad.

So Chris is behind Hannah Montana (Mylie Cyrus). That’s crazy. But I guess not as crazy as me knowing who she is. “It’s the best of both worlds.” Yeah I’m stopping now.

Carla, you’re not as bad me just rockin’ out to Burl Ives singing Holly Jolly Christmas. I have no shame.

No, No, Noooooooooo. I vote no!! Pickles cannot out sell the sweet Velvet Teddybear. Reub is a lot better than her. But, there is no accounting for taste..apparently!
Carla, don’t feel bad. I know about Billy Ray’s little girl too :-)

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas/It’s the best time of the year/Oh by golly have a Holly Jolly Christmas this year
LOL!
Kat should have put that on her album so she could sell a copy or two.

jex: Holly Jolly Xmas is the holiday song to rock out to, period.
Carla: I have accidentally caught an episode or two of Hannah Montana (or whatever the Disney Channel show is called) but only discovered she’s the daughter of Mr. Achey-Breaky on the AMA’s last month. Who knew? Anyway, I’d probably rather hear her than a Nickelback sound-alike.
As for Miss McPhee, based on her Idol performances and everything since, I am not thinking we’ll see much substance in her album. She’s got some power in her lungs so maybe she’s gonna surprise me.

Freaks still here? Of course Pickler will sell more than the Lard. Enough with the 70’s R&B snore. As for the stupid brunette, her music sucked then! It’ll suck even more now. The fact that you people will probably BUY her music is even sadder!

Whew!!! I feel better now. Tim I agree that McPhee’s album won’t have much substance to it. She started off so high with me, but she just dropped each and every week. I hope she surprises all of us and puts out an album that will do well. It’s sad that Reuben’s album hasn’t done well. It’s very nice, but I noticed that they haven’t released a second single.

Reuben’s CD IS very nice. I am still shocked it hasn’t done better. He did a bang up job! I guess he just doesn’t have “it” anymore.

Oh yeah, Kat’s album, thats what the headline is on this little blog today. Guess I should at least comment. But, my momma always said that if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all. So I am opting not to say anything at all :-) Suffice it to say I will not be purchasing that one!
DUKE! Long time no blog, buddy. We have almost had to resort to insulting ourselves since you weren’t around to do it for us.

Hey Dukemeister! Where ya been? I don’t plan on buying Pickler’s or Ruben’s CDs. I have to save my money for Taylor. I haven’t her one cut from it yet, but that’s how sure I am that it will be just what I expect from him. And I’ve heard that if you play Runaround backwards, you will hear him proclaim his undying love to me.
That’s what I heard.

Hmmmm, Carla, it must have been the voice in her head :-) I have listened to Runaround several times and never heard it!
Jex, taylorhicks.com is a good place to grab a listen to 3 of Taylor’s tracks if you would like. They are really good! I already have my Taylor CD fund set aside. Honestly, I have never anticipated an idol’s cd as much!

Me either mystique! I have never anticipated ANY artists’ CD this much. Except for Mary J. who by the way, has been nominated for 8 Grammies. That’s how you do the dang thang. Now put that in your Katharine and McPhee it!
Don’t wanna play house no more/ So dumb to think you gonna marry me/ I got to be out my mind to think I need some one to carry me.
I’ve done enough cryin’, cryin’, cryin’/ It’s time to say Bye, Bye, Bye. Time I do something for me.

Carrie was nominated too. I’m sure she’ll get a grammy to add to all of the other awards she’s gotten thus far.

Oh, I hope that Carrie snags herself a grammy. That would be the ultimate way to top off her year of wins.
Yeah, greg, don’t you remember Mary J from idol? Simon said she was bloody awful but Paula thought shes a star and yo dawg Randy agreed!

PJ, you’re confused. Remember, Mary J was the one with the long straight black hair who had been in a car accident, but refused to hide the scars on her body. And she had a really big butt. Remember?

Yep, Jex, that was Mary J. And she also was presented with a “grill” by Flav right before she was voted off by the viewers. We should have dialed those 1-866 #’s a little harder and perhaps Ms. Mary would have stayed longer. She would have definitely been in the top 2 with Tasia had she song “Over the Rainbow”. I mean it got Kat in the top two and Kimberly Locke in the top 3. You just can’t lose with the “Oz” song.
